Maturity is when you stop
asking people why they don't call or text you anymore.
You just notice the change and accept it, no drama, no fights.
You just walk away with a smile.
This whole discussion is deeply interesting to me, because I went from reading anime-based fanfiction as a teenager to reading RPF, and reading RPF actually felt less immature to me.
The ironic thing about feeling self-conscious or guilty about liking what you like because you’re “too old for it” is that, the older you get, the less you care about what other people think. So keep enjoying the things you like, no one should have a say in your tastes and choices as long as you’re not harming anyone.
i see the younglings post things like "are you still on tumblr at 30?" and "go take care of your kids instead of reading fics"
and i just feel sad
because you have a bunch of young people who are terrified of getting older.
they think age is going to change them, into something boring, something different, something grey.
and i just want to tell them, reassure them:
you will still be the same person.
isn't it wonderful?
you will love the things you love for so many years. you will find joy in the same things, decade after decade. you will feel the same inside, through all this time.
yes, the body will change. yes there's more responsibilities, less time, even less energy.
but there's no magical age where you stop enjoying that specific story, that specific game, that specific hobby.
but you know what also comes with age?
you have less fucks to give.
Don't let anyone fool you: Adults don't really know what they're doing all the time. You don't magically earn the drive or the strategy to do all your responsibilities when you turn 18, or when you get out of college - or at any point, for that matter. And if anyone looks like they have it... they don't.
As I was walking around the house, my neglected responsibilities jumped out at me all at once. Dishes in the sink. Unfolded clothes. Homework. All of them important things that I should have done days ago, but they're still lying around. Some have deadlines! And as I asked myself why I can't handle such simple tasks with any decency, I began to wonder whether I'm fit for adulthood at all. How can I be expected to survive on my own if I can't even get myself to take regular showers?
I started to despair about bigger matters like rent. Clearly I'm not cut out for these responsibilities, I told myself. Maybe I should stop trying; I'm just going to fail anyway. It was a crushing thought... I was about to break down on the spot.
But then I noticed the things I'm doing well. My room is mostly clean (other than the clothes, but even those are in a hamper in the corner). I'm well-fed. I'm still in college - I live off-campus, and I've survived this long! I have supportive friends. Heck, I just took out the trash moments before this meltdown.
Really what I was afraid of was that I can't seem to do anything, when that's not true. I can do some things, just not everything. And in the end, I concluded that the things I'm doing right outweigh the things I'm not doing. I need to learn to juggle all my responsibilities first before I master them, and that's part of what college is about.
I've seen what it looks like to not do anything, and I'm not nearly there... But if I'd given up, I sure would be. So it's okay! I'll forget to wash the dishes some days, and that's okay, as long as I'm trying at all.
Communication is the key in every kind of relationship, friendship or more. It is also polite and also shows respect for someone, the thing that I can't stand is to be ignored. If you are busy, let me know. If you are not in the mood and need space, let me know. If you are finished with me and don't want to talk to me anymore, just let me know. It only takes two seconds to let someone know instead of plainly ignoring them, communicate. It's the mature thing to do.

Hello All, It seems now that I'm struggling with being a care giver to my mother my posting schedule is readjusting itself currently. Once I get things in order on the home front I hope to post more frequently. Otherwise much like I've stated in my past Vlogs (video blogs) that "Atrayo's Oracle" is now 12 years old! I first started writing here at Google's Blogger portal back on July 24th, 2005. All through out I've maintained a pretty much solid posting schedule and it seems the older this blog site gets the more I write in frequency. :o) Since my "Jewels of Truth" short hand social media posts have piled up on me. (ie memes, facebook, & twitter) Today's entry is to play catch up partially as a digest version. Although I'm 10 memes and assorted statements in arrears I'll only post 4 of each for a grand total of 12 statements overall. 548B) All of life is a mix of the good and the bad causing a myriad of mixed feelings that climax at our decisions to simply be well or to suffer greatly due to pain and confusion. We may lament our lot from time to time but also we celebrate our privileges afforded to us by God himself in us. All of life twists from circumstance to situational presence by how we react to what is highlighted before us. Some soar however many others tow the line they've been dealt not fully realizing they can change the direction of their misfortune. Not elucidating sufficiently that they have the power to climb out of the pits of despair to enact Heaven on Earth if they so desire.
The Divine realities are more than just idle fanciful thoughts forms of inspiration. They are a collection of near endless realities that we become the angels of our better nature to excel together. The longer we forget this prestige of this our grace with God as gods ourselves metaphysically. 550B) Everyone one of us has a magnificent presence that we can devote to the rest of our lives and that is to mature deeply in abiding Love. We can harbor judgments however when love is true it is without end. Nothing can steer us in the wrong direction when we have the merit of the ages guiding us through our heart center.
Upon eternity there is no age whatsoever metaphysically so to measure growth by physical age is meaningless. A complete waste is aging when maturity or seniority is accomplished by the truths of one's godly angelic character when heaven is its factor. All the rest is simplified to this end when we afford ourselves this privilege to remember God in our benevolence. As the Almighty example personified in our meritocracy across eternity. Peace:
552B) All Peace begins with God alive in celebration. For a peace without fortitude is truly hollow and self-serving as mere window dressing lacking backbone. When peace is cultivated there is a chance of eventual health of the souls of all included. Given a moment of tranquility, there is hope for positive change to evoke eventual prosperity of the Spirit of God to deeply take hold upon the hearts and minds of those caring to make a difference. When peace is withheld there is nigh a possibility for robust change that is constructive in nature. As peace is an instrument of the prosperity of God Almighty it is also a solemn vehicle of fruitful change for humanity therein when practiced richly. To be mindful of this brings the standard bearer of Peace where soon reconciliation and justice are allowed to take hold in time. Without deep-seated forgiveness, any peace obtained soon becomes fleeting due to competition for shifting objectives seeking dominance. Only with respect and dignity for all stakeholders involved can peace begin as a seedling germ nurtured by compromise and objective results gained for all worth the divine blessing of God. Afterlife:
554B) The Totality of God Almighty consists of everything that we are and that which we are not in essence and substance constantly. No one can equal the entirety of God in a meta sense we can only mimic the grandeur of God as miniature versions of his beauty and truth. This affords us the favor to exist in spite of that which challenges us with contrast to even have a fulfilled life's breath at times. Nonetheless, we harbor no ill will towards life which is the grand escape from the afterlife.
Since what we term as realities or dimensions are merely synonymous extensions in a circular fashion to the totality of God. Put another way the Supreme Omnipresence of God(dess) is all inclusive without being devoid anywhere in truth be it conceived truly or as fantasy. Nothing is beyond the far reaches of God as Creator, Sustainer, and ultimately the recycler known otherwise as the Destroyer.
Our Divine Consciousness is beyond this simple bipedal creature we are incarnated into whom we call as Homo Sapien. Our Highest Self is a United Metaphysical Continuum of a Collective that is epic as it is extraordinary. The individuality of self-expression is honored driven by personality however so is a community clustered holy presence whom we simply call the Holy Spirit of God. We are the reflection metaphysically as micro pieces or facets of God as souls together as an orchestra of ultimate life. Each in a scripted reality of our co-creation with the entire afterlife in this way so as to experience the multiplicity of contrast and change according to the Will of God. Maturity
I'm turning 18 in October and I'm the hell afraid of it.
I don't feel ready to become grown-up and to take responsibility for myself.
Interesting paradox, isn’t it? When I was a child I wanted get older to decide for myself. Now I wanna be a child again because life was more simple back then.
There is a short poem about it. It goes like this:
Poor old age, we all demand you, And when you arrive, in turn, we complain.
I think it's pretty accurate, isn’t it?
We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations.

Summary:
Benjamin Braddock (Dustin Hoffman) is a 21 year old fellow who has just graduated from University. He is very stressed about his future and his life in general. His parents want him to marry Elaine Robinson. At his graduation party with his family, Mrs. Robinson, Elaine’s mother, tells him to drive her home and there she tries to seduce him and finally they have an affair with several encounters. They finally end up their affair and Ben falls in love with Elaine, but now Mrs. Robinson doesn’t want him to marry her.
When everything is discovered Ben is left all alone and Elaine engages another guy. He chases after her to Berkeley, the new place where Elaine has moved, and then when they are kissing in the wedding Ben rudely bargain in. Elaine decides to escape with him and run away happily in a bus, while everyone stares them as they smile.
Review: 8.5/10
The themes in this movie are Love, Maturity, Innocence, Youth, Dichotomy Duty vs. Feelings, Social Expectations vs. Individuality, Carpe Diem
The thing I definitely love the most is the evolution of the character’s personality. At first, he is insecure, timid and is very stressed about the future and very self-conscious (i.e. when he books a room in the hotel), when he is used as a sexual toy by Mrs. Robinson etc. But as the movie advances, he becomes more and more confident, to the point when he doesn’t care about even disrrupting in a wedding in a brutal way and take her girlfriend away with him, when everyone is opposing. He goes from a passive character to an active one. He breaks societal norms but he is successful.

So, what if, instead of thinking about solving your whole life, you just think about adding additional good things. One at a time. Just let your pile of good things grow.
