Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.

fatima aamer bilal, from moony moonless sky.
[text id: you mistook my graveyard heart for a city of flowers. / my dear, i’m sorry, i didn’t tell you, there’s no home six feet below the ground.]

fatima aamer bilal, from all hunger is, is love.
[text id: my heart knew no name more furiously than yours.
a scripture that burns beneath my tongue.
the mere glimpse of you clogs my lungs as if the butterflies have deemed them their home
but when you leave my sight, i can’t bear the thought of it being forever.
oh, lord, how i am willing to embrace you until all the love in my being seeps into you.
[and i can’t bring my myself to imagine a world with you,
this world is pure agony without you.
this world is my grave.]
these hands, attached to my wrists, with no purpose other than to hold yours— weep.
my palms are heavy with the emptiness of your hands.
it was inevitable.
you could have marched towards me, parading your teeth like hands, tearing all the meaningless flesh apart, turning my ribs inside, and taking a bite out of my heart—
and i would have done nothing, not when i couldn’t look past your eyes.
so warm. even the sun yearns to bask in them.
sick. sick. sick. how i would have waited for you to take another bite. then another. another. devour me whole. all hunger is, is love.
and i hope you’re hungry, dear darling.
“you have always been like this?”
“no.” yes.
oh, how i would pray to get sick, so my mother would take care of me.]

fatima aamer bilal, ‘all hunger is, is love’ from the heart beats for two.

fatima aamer bilal, excerpt from moony moonless sky’s all the blood in my mouth screams devastatingly desperate, miserable girl.
[text id: i eat approval for dinner, and when not earned any, i go to bed hungry.]

Don't mind me, just sharing one of my favorite lines from a children's book
Do you ever get really thankful for all the books you’ve read? For all the worlds and stories and characters that have become a part of you? That there’s just this space of nostalgia inside you where you remember plots and twists, love stories and deaths, journeys you’ve taken between the spaces of a page and it just makes your heart swell. It’s part of why I love reading. You always get to carry pieces of those stories with you.
You. I want you and I don’t want to be a luxury. I want you to need me. I want you to not be able to concentrate because you’re thinking about me. I want you to reach for your phone because you thought of something you have to share with me. I want you to not even be able to breathe at the thought of never seeing me again, because that’s how I feel about you.
Shannon Stacey, All He Ever Needed

I have officially passed my third semester of med school (yaaay) and now have almost two weeks of well-deserved break. I have to finally finish Young and Beautiful because I haven’t touched it since Christmas. Anyway, here’s a quote that made me laugh.
i did not understand why solitude felt unbearable
and why “fun” could not permanently settle
turbulent emotions

attachment is: the mental tension you feel when you do not get exactly what you crave; it is refusing to accept change or let go of control
