Self Care Tips - Tumblr Posts
How do you deal with executive dysfunction? I live alone and I guess I've been spending all my energy with work and university, so everyday I get home absolutely exhausted and unable to do anything. I haven't showered in 2 weeks, and I've been living off of chicken nuggets the past few days and I have none left now. I'm using baby wipes to clean myself for now, but I need to wash the dishes so I can cook some actual food, but I don't have the energy to do so. (btw I'm taking adhd meds now)
I dont know sorry
Personally, everytime I'm feeling bad and don't know why, I drink water. Even when it doesn't solve the problem, it distracts from the pain and I get more hydrated. It also helps me with aknowledging that something's wrong and actually doing something about it even if it's just taking a sip of water. I think it's very important when you're disabled(especially undiagnosed) and have been taught your whole life to ignore your problems so you don't inconvenience others.
Hey! Fellow ND people!
Do you struggle to drink water/stay hydrated?
Here's something I'm trying out, it might help you too.
y'know drinking games? Generally done with alcohol
Do them with water
Pull up your favourite show and every time they say the name of a character you like, drink some water.
Open up your favourite youtuber and every time they do something that makes you laugh, drink some water.
I'm like...80% sure that's how drinking games work
even if they don't, it can still be useful to you!
Ear care — the most unspoken body care.
- ear care if one of the most neglected and overlooked body care it is as important as your face routine. Each and every, part of your body needs attention and care 🫶, and my desi babies if you really want to slay those jhumkes you really need to take care of your ear. Anyways let's get started.
1. Cleaning : Clean your outer ear gently with a washcloth. Avoid inserting anything into your ear canal, such as cotton swabs or other objects, as this can push wax deeper or even cause damage.
2. Earwax Management : Let your ears naturally clean themselves. Earwax helps protect your ears from dust, dirt, and bacteria. Do not use eard buds DO. NOT. Baby girlies please don't it can cause problems in hearing and affect your eardrum.
If you have excessive earwax buildup that causes discomfort or affects your hearing, consult a doctor for safe removal.
3. Protection: Wear ear protection in noisy environments, such as concerts, construction sites, or when using loud equipment like lawnmowers or power tools. Earplugs or earmuffs can help prevent hearing damage.
4. Avoiding Water : Keep water out of your ears while bathing, swimming, or showering. Use earplugs or a shower cap to protect your ears, especially if you've had ear surgery or have a history of ear infections.
5. Electronic devices : use airpods, earphones or headphone max 3 hours not more than that and always keep the volume at the adequate level in order not to affect your ear and brain.
6. Regular Check-ups : Visit an audiologist or healthcare professional for regular ear check-ups, especially if you experience changes in hearing, ear pain, or other ear-related issues.
7. Healthy Lifestyle : Maintain a healthy lifestyle, as conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes can impact your ear health. Stay hydrated, eat a balanced diet, and manage stress levels.

Taking these simple steps can help keep your ears healthy and functioning well. 🫶

Life Tip #64
love the taste of lush bath bombs but don’t like the feeling of itty bitty grains in your mouth? use a knife to shave off small parts of the bath bomb every day into a glass of water like kool-aid powder! the grains will dissolve and you’ll be left with a bath bomb with multiple usages!
Thanks 🙂. A reminder to whoever needs this too~
Important Self Care Note: You Do Not Have To Do Everything To The Nines
A lot of times I don’t do the self care things that I need to do because they seem too daunting or time consuming or involved. But what I’ve learned is that I don’t need to do everything with my full effort to the best of my ability, I just need to do it. It’s much better to do a little self care than none
You don’t have to wash your hair every time you take a shower. Or shave your legs. Or use that fancy exfoliating body wash. You can jump in and wash your face and your underarms and nether regions and hop out. You will feel so much better and be so much healthier than if you had sat in bed and not even approached the bathroom because the idea of conditioning your hair was too much
You don’t have to cook a full healthy meal. You can eat components that would go into a meal like cheese and left over rice. Or you can even eat just one thing like a slice of turkey or a piece of bread. Eating a simple thing is better than eating nothing, even if its a bag of chips
You don’t have to go to the gym and do a full workout. You can do a workout at home or go to the gym and just do one or two things. Your workout can consist of you doing ten sit ups on your living room floor
You don’t have to go for a walk. Open the blinds or even the window and let the sunlight in. A lack of sunlight can be detrimental for your mood and even health, so any little bit helps whether you are physically outside or not
You don’t have to do your hair up in a cool do or put product in it. You can just comb it and go on
If you are a person who shaves their face, you don’t have to use that fancy aftershave. You don’t even have to get every spot perfectly. You can half ass it and look more like yourself than you did, and that is pretty important to your mental health
You don’t have to brush your teeth for two minutes, floss, use mouthwash, and put in your retainer. You can do some or one of those things. Brushing your teeth for fifteen seconds will do more than for zero seconds, and using mouthwash alone will do more than doing nothing
Self care is hard sometimes and you get overwhelmed. We all do and that’s okay. The best way Ive found to get it done is to get it partially done. Doing things just “good enough” IS good enough when thats all you can do. Be kind to yourself and just do what you can. I love you

Embracing the Inevitable: Dealing with Bad Days
Shaina Tranquilino
September 15, 2023

We all have those days when nothing seems to go our way. From waking up on the wrong side of the bed to facing a series of unfortunate events, bad days can be incredibly challenging to navigate. However, it's important to remember that bad days are an inevitable part of life. Rather than letting them consume us, let's explore how we can embrace these moments and turn them into valuable learning experiences.
1. Acceptance is key
The first step towards dealing with a bad day is accepting that not every day will be perfect. Life is full of ups and downs, and experiencing disappointment or frustration is entirely normal. By acknowledging this reality, we allow ourselves to process negative emotions more effectively and move forward without dwelling in self-pity.
2. Take a break
When everything seems to be going wrong, sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves is to take a step back. Pause whatever you're doing and give yourself some time to reset. Engaging in activities like deep breathing exercises, going for a walk in nature, or even taking a power nap can help clear your mind and ease tension.
3. Seek support
Remember that you don't have to face tough times alone. Reach out to friends, family members, or trusted individuals who can provide emotional support during difficult days. Sharing your feelings with someone who understands can bring comfort and perspective while reminding you that you're not alone in facing challenges.
4. Practice self-care
Self-care becomes crucial during bad days as it helps nurture your well-being and promotes resilience. Engage in activities that bring you joy or relaxation—whether it's reading a book, listening to music, practicing mindfulness techniques, or indulging in your favorite hobby—take time for yourself amidst chaos.
5. Learn from setbacks
Instead of viewing a bad day as purely negative, try shifting your perspective to see it as an opportunity for growth. Reflect on what went wrong and identify any lessons that can be learned from the experience. Adversities often provide us with valuable insights, helping us become more resilient, adaptable, and better equipped to handle future challenges.
6. Focus on gratitude
When everything seems bleak, consciously redirect your attention towards gratitude. Take a moment to appreciate the things that are going well in your life, no matter how small they may seem. Practicing gratitude helps shift our mindset from dwelling on negativity to recognizing the positives that surround us.
Bad days are an inherent part of human existence. While we cannot avoid them entirely, we can alter our approach to these challenging moments. By accepting their presence, taking breaks when needed, seeking support, practicing self-care, learning from setbacks, and focusing on gratitude, we can transform bad days into opportunities for personal growth and resilience. Ultimately, remember that bad days don't define us; it's how we choose to respond to them that truly matters.
Remember to take care if yourself.
You want to be fit and healthy when it's finally time to dance on the graves of your enemies.
