everyone matters.

every single soul.

i matter.

you matter.

and your friend maggie matters.

and my neighbour kyle, they matter too.

and that asian boy i see kicking a stone out of his way across the street, he matters too.

because if anyone gets harmed or hurt in any way, i will stand for them - because i have the obligation and order, as a citizen of this world, to protect everyone at the same time, and to stand for everyone around me, no matter the nationality or ethnicity.

and if anyone in my presence gets seriously hurt by a dark-skinned person, i shall not protect that person saying that they, actually, are fighting for their rights for being dark-skinned. no matter what kinds of protests are going out there.

any kind of physical or moral harassment is blind to ethnicities.

a crime is a crime.

and i will never elevate one ethnicity over another, because it isn't how it works.

The Diaries of Franz Kafka are a conduit to who he really was as a person and as an artist. They chronicle his life from 1910 to 23, they offer multiplex reflections, meditation and philosophical introspection, accounts of dreams, ideas, book reviews and an honest portrayal of his feelings, emotions and thoughts. While written and given in poetic prose and lyricism, rich in vocabulary and expression, his diaries are a simply an answer to what he understood and what he did not about himself, as a writer, a person, a brother, a friend, an artist and above all as a human being with dark recesses and complexities waiting for love and affection, and light to come by.

"This very heart which is mine will forever remain indefinable to me. Between the certainty I have of my existence and the content I try to give to that assurance, the gap will never be filled. Forever I shall be a stranger to myself."

(Artwork The Red Cloud by David De Las Hera.)

One of the most influential books I have read in my life. Almost disturbing but thoroughly reassuring as well. Man's struggle between meaning and absurd, between suffering and redemption, between the self and the non-self; what does it take? How is one supposed to carry on living a life of contrast, of contradiction, things working for and against at the same time? On the face of the essential absurdity of life, what should a man do, understand and think? The book is by all means an embodiment of existentiel crisis, an anxiety attack, (a bit tedious) but it also gives the reassurance, the quiet that follows. It tells you things you don't know, things you already know, things you heard of but it's more articulate, eloquent, cohesive, and synchronized. Camus is one of the best.

Putin has history books rewritten for schools and universities. Ted Cruz has books banned in schools.

Fathers of an idea who ultimately do not differ in their view of society. Neither of them wants responsible, enlightened, self-determined citizens.

mod

When books are banned or history books are rewritten, the approach is never to protect the citizens but only to preserve the power of individuals.

Wherever they burn books they will also, in the end, burn human beings.

Heinrich Heine

Education is the friend of propaganda. Anyone who can think for themselves and can form an overall picture based on different facts from different sources is unfortunately useless for populist propaganda.

Just ask the British what happened to the oh-so-much money they supposedly had to pay to the EU after they went through with brexit.

Oh, the money didn't exist and the bus with the cool print was just propaganda from the brexit supporters.

mod

Putin Has History Books Rewritten For Schools And Universities. Ted Cruz Has Books Banned In Schools.

However, there was a problem with this fact: it was patently untrue. Technically, the UK paid a gross £19.1bn into the EU budget in 2014, which equates to just over £350m a week. But thanks to Margaret Thatcher's hard-nosed negotiating skills in the 1980s, the country also receives a huge rebate of around £4.9bn, which never leaves Her Majesty's Treasury. The British also benefit from billions in various EU subsidies to the public sector. Add it all up and the UK's net contribution is around £9.9bn, just over half the amount touted by Brexit supporters. The total drops even further if you include things like the research funding the EU provides to UK universities.

You could have read about it in various sources, including books, but what the heck, gut feelings and felt facts are cooler!

There's a really clever saying: those who can read have a clear advantage.

Whoever Has Such A Signature Must Be Writing About The Universe!

Since I've read his books, my view of reality has become a little more relaxed because nothing is as crazy as reality.

It would be funny if a hyperspace bypass were really built and our planet had to give way. It's a bit like cutting down the rainforest to make way for a ring road - all the creatures would have to go too.

I liked the series from the 80s just as much as the last Hitchhiker's film.

However, the books are a real treat of absurd alternative realism.

What I liked best was the conscious decision that at a certain point you are crazy. ..... but that's in one of his books if I remember correctly......

Fortunately, penguins are always well-dressed, which is something you sometimes miss with idiots.

There's another cruel difference: penguins 🐧 eventually die out, idiots don't.

"The Invention of Loneliness" made Auster famous in 1982. The book was prompted by the death of his father in 1979, a property speculator from whom the son had once distanced himself with poems and black existentialist coats. Auster reflects on the distant relationship with his father and traces the family history, then deals with the more autobiographical first part of the book in a more essayistic manner in the second part.

Paul Auster became internationally successful with his "New York Trilogy", which appeared in the individual volumes "City of Glass" (1985), "Drop Shadow" (1986) and "Behind Closed Doors" (1987), but was later often summarised. 17 publishers rejected the books, only a dwarf company in faraway Los Angeles took pity on Auster and brought the three loosely interwoven, darkly enigmatic crime stories onto the market - and thus helped Auster to world fame.

"Leviathan" (1992) is about a writer investigating the death of a friend: The latter blew himself up while building a bomb. The book also features a character called Iris Vegan, a cameo appearance by the protagonist of Siri Hustvedt's first novel "The Blindfold" - Auster had been married to Hustvedt since 1982. Auster received the French literary prize Médicis for the book in 1993, which shows the esteem in which he was held in Europe, more so than in his home country. "In this country, he's just a bestselling author," wrote New York Magazine in 2007, "in Paris, Auster is a rock star."

"The Invention Of Loneliness" Made Auster Famous In 1982. The Book Was Prompted By The Death Of His Father

US author Paul Auster is dead, according to a media report. The author of the "New York Trilogy" died at the age of 77 as a result of lung cancer. The "New York Times" and the British "Guardian" reported this, citing Auster's confidante Jacki Lyden. According to the report, the writer died in the New York borough of Brooklyn.

Unfortunately, we have only found the video translated into German, but it shows the problem, or rather the development of reading and its media.

Every era had its media, scrolls, books, technical devices of the multimedia world.

A book is a task of concentration, it takes time and muse to read it all the way through.

In today's attention span of seconds or even minutes in an ever faster information overflow world of social media, reading books is a challenge.

All the information summarised in a detailed report, text, story in book without pictures is an absolute challenge for the imagination.

Reading books, unlike collecting books, is an enrichment of the mind and not of inner decoration or investment.

mod

With new media come new skills and old ones disappear. The attention span of young adults today is smaller than in the eighties. What impact does this have on the future? Can we get people to read again beyond the seconds or minutes?

We assume that you only have to ignite a spark to get people to read. So write good books and not in the style of marvel the super heroes save the world from the super villain part infinite. The eternal rehash of the same theme. We used to love marvel but not criticism free. However, death pool is incredible, isn't it?
