DUMB CONSERVATIVE TALKING POINTS (part 2 of ???): "IT'S JUST LOGICAL"
Don't get me wrong, when somebody says some shit like 'paying poor people less will make the economy better', the appropriate response is to laugh them out of the room and disengage. But if you can't leave well enough alone, or if the shitbrain takes are coming from someone you can't disengage with like a family member, might as well know how to do it properly.
The Facts and Logic^TM arm of conservatism paints itself as being above the corrupting influence of ideology, pure and untainted, despite the fact that they're actually taints. The thing is, they don't really know what logic is.
Logic is only a process. It can take you from one statement to the next, and it can ensure all the statements down a chain are consistent with all of the previous ones. But it never actually guarantees something is correct, because it never gives you the starting point for the chain.
In math and logic, the starting points are called axioms, and in ethics and politics, they're your values. There is no such thing as a "logical" value to hold, because they come before logic.
So when you hear somebody say that society would be better off if we let the children work in the mines for which they yearn, don't go after the process they used to arrive at that conclusion. Debating about whether child labor is effective will only validate the values that their argument originates from. Instead, identify that original value and let them know that it's absolute baldercrap.
- Putting more people to work is logical if the meaning of a life well lived is to maximize productivity and consumption.
- Gender essentialism is logical if "nature" is a good thing to obey
- Private ownership of the economy is logical if the only valuable part is the people at the top barking orders
Being a shitty person is logical if you choose to hold shitty values. Choose to care about and respect others, or I will show up at your house and write long blocks of text at you. You've been warned.
Забавная штука - картинки от нейросетей. Суть, как сам искусственный интеллект. Первый взгляд бросаешь: вааау, круто, красиво! Потом взгляд выхватывает одну странность, другую... То, что твой мозг считает логичной конструкцией (рама окна, конёк крыши, проём двери и т.д.) оказывается неумелой драпировкой, потому что ии не сверяет логичность конструкции с функционалом, это только драпировка. Но прикольно. Какие-то картинки только чуть подправить - и хорошо. А какие-то на первый взгляд ок, но потом столько деталей всплывает, что это даже чуточку пугающе)
Хотели бы войти в такой странный дом? Интересно, там внутри тоже всё такое же странное, как будто обрывки снов?

Here's a classic comic documenting some of the strange creatures we met under the earth in Portugal. Since they resemble foxes, I thought it would be relevant to our current strip, SmallFox.
These are more magical foxes though, which take the biped form like us humans. Their minds are very logical in nature, but to a fault. They tend to not appreciate the fine sensory perceptions of the world as we do. Alas, it just so happens that...creatures are different.

Number crunching means that all of America could fit into England ~73.9 times over. 73.9 Englands fit into the United States.
How big does she expect the classrooms to be at Ilvermorny????

- Roman died on the night of his coronation, poisoned by a servant he thought loyal. It’s been almost three hundred years, and his castle is now nothing but the cottage of a young singer. He finds himself enamored with him, but at the same time, terrified to speak to someone in fear he’ll be betrayed again. Most of his time is spent staring in the mirror, trying in vein to wipe away the trail of blood dribbling from the corner of his mouth.
- In the mid eighties, Patton and his two children were murdered inside their home. The killer’s never been caught, and every evening, the children scream in fear that he’s come back, blissfully unaware that they’re dead. Pat even goes so far as to do chores and make them meals and home school them with dusty books to make up for the lives they’ll never lead.
- The attic has been closed off since Logan died in it in 2011. Nothing could quite dispel the chill of what was his little sanctuary for writing until he hung himself. Beneath his collared shirt and tie is a ring of dark red and purple bruising from the rope digging into his delicate skin. No one knows how he died, and he refuses to tell.
- Really, Virgil just wanted somewhere peaceful to write his music and record. On his first night, when he meets the other inhabitants of his cottage, he freaks out and winds up hyperventilating and locked in the closet. Pat is the one who coaxes him out and tells him not to be afraid. Over time, Virgil comes to love the family he’s made.
