Ford v Ferrari Review
I went into Ford v Ferrari with very little knowledge about the real world events it was meant to depict within the film. It managed to get me invested in the story and characters during its 2 and a half hour runtime. When I left the theater I wanted to go right back in to rewatch the film. I was blown away by everything from the production to the performances. There didn’t seem to be any weak links.
Matt Damon and Christian Bale do a phenomenal job. These are some of my favorite performances that the two have given in recent memory. The scene near the end where Shelby goes by the Miles’ house and talks to Ken’s son Pete while trying his best not to break down was acted incredibly by Damon. These two had great on screen chemistry and I believed their friendship despite the arguments and fights they got into. The Miles family were all well cast. I was especially impressed with Noah Jupe. He is a talented young actor that I’m happy to see gaining recognition. This whole film is full of A+ casting.
The cinematography and directing were both incredible. It did a good job of making you feel the speed, adrenaline, and tension of each race. The perspective of the driver that both Shelby and Ken talk about in the film was shown by having the sound around the driver mute and the camera angle would open up and slow down. This gives the viewer the same, or a similar, feeling the driver must have felt.
The real strength of this film is that it manages to capture your attention not just in the loud moments of competition, but in the quiet moments for the characters as well. My favorite shot of the film is actually the wide shot of Ken and his wife Mollie dancing in the empty hangar after Ken has been left behind and told he can’t drive. So much emotion is conveyed in that short yet tender shot. Ken is clearly torn up about being unable to race and his wife knows that. They don’t talk about it, but you know they both understand each other and support/comfort one another. This is the case with just about every scene concerning the Miles family. The movie makes sure you know how much they care about each other and it makes it hit all the harder when Ken doesn’t make it out of the car at the end during the test run.
I highly recommend this film be seen in theaters. I believe it is worth the price of admission and then some. I had a blast with this movie and I hope anyone reading this did as well.
13. Ewan McGregor Movie Review: Velvet Goldmine (1998)
Happy Pride Month!❤️🌈❤️We've made it to 1998 and can take a breather because Ewan only made two movies this year. How appropriate that on the first week of Pride Month the first review is the LGBTQ film "Velvet Goldmine"! I swear I didn't plan this. Maxwell Demon must have arranged it in the stars 😏. Also, I came across three different runtimes for this movie. The version I watched had a runtime of 1 hour and 58 minutes so the Screentime Percentage is based off of that.
Fun Fact: Toni Collette co-stars in this movie. She was in "Emma" with Ewan!

Synopsis: If you're someone who doesn't like musicals because of the "unrealistic" factor then you'll be happy to know that's not the case here. The movie is a musical because the characters are singers/musicians and they perform throughout the movie. The film is about British glam rocker Brian Slade who fakes his own death and disappears from the public in the 70s. Ten years later, Arthur Stuart, a journalist, is given the task to unearth what really happened to the rockstar and where he is now. His search brings him in contact with former stars who knew Slade and causes him to reflect on his own tumultuous past.
Ewan Review: Ewan plays the character Curt Wild. Curt Wild is a gay American man who's the lead singer and guitarist of his band The Rats. Brian Slade is greatly inspired by Curt and convinces him to collaborate on some projects. Eventually, what starts as a professional relationship blossoms into something more. Ewan speaks with an American English accent for this role which sounds a little funny at times. He has long blond hair for some of the movie which I like. He has two male love interests and a kiss scene. There's also one sex scene and one implied sex scene. He pretty much never wears a shirt and in one scene even strips nude while performing! And yes, that means you get to see his penis. Speaking of performing, he sings thrice and two of those times are full performances. Fun fact: he sang all of his vocals live instead of lip syncing to a pre-recorded track while filming! As far as acting, I think he did well with the limited amount of screentime he had.
Screentime Percentage (numbers are rounded to the nearest whole number): Ewan is on screen for a grand total of 20/118 minutes making his SP 17%.
To Ewan or not to Ewan: Is the movie worth watching for Ewan content alone? Yes, even though he doesn't have much screen time, he makes the most of it. Is the movie worth watching in general? Yes, it's a great LGBTQ movie! Plus, the soundtrack is infectious.
Where to Watch: "Velvet Goldmine" is available for rent on YouTube, Google Play Movies and TV, Fandango at Home, and Amazon Prime Video. It's also currently uploaded for free on YouTube through the account SELVA BEATS. Just search "Velvet Goldmine 1998 filme raro leg". Heads up: the movie has Portuguese subtitles that can't be turned off. Lastly, you can pirate the movie on soap2day.
Closing Thoughts: This movie makes me go Wild (pun-intended😉) with each watch. The music, costumes, performances, acting, EVERYTHING makes my heart pound. When I watched it for the first time I said the same thing Arthur did in the movie, "That's me! That's me!" It's been 26 years since it was released and in 2024 I was able to say, "That's me." I felt hope. I felt less alone. And I know I'm not the only one who saw themselves and felt the same. "Velvet Goldmine" is a beautiful movie in every way and well worth a watch.

hiii okay so this has to be done on a pc/laptop you cant do this from you phone, sorry about that!!
first download all the files and add them to the 'music' file on your computer.
next go to spotify (on ur pc and phone) and turn on local files. on ur phone its the second up from the bottom under settings. on pc under settings when u click on ur pfp its near the top, just look for the bold 'your library' and turn local files on. another section will pop up where you can add a source, add your music file/library
THEN!! make a playlist on spotify, name it whatever you want, add all the songs to it, and download it. make sure your phone and pc are on the same network so they can download to your phone as well, and you should be good

Most underrated movies of the last decade
1. Filth (2013)
One of the greatest movies of the last decade, maybe McAvoy's best performance ever: A tragic, funny, absolutely unapologetic movie about the downfall of a scottish police officer.
2. Swiss Army Man (2016)
I promise that you have never seen a movie like this before. It is absolutely strange, macabre and loaded with dark humor: a man stranded on a deserted island tries to keep his sanity by talking to a corpse (Daniel Radcliffe).
3. Rush (2013)
Rush is a 2013 biographical sports film centred on rivalry between two Formula One drivers, the British James Hunt and the Austrian Niki Lauda during the 1976 Formula 1 motor-racing season. One of the best Sport Dramas out there.
4. Mother! (2017)
I know some people dislike this movie but I think it is one of Aronosfky's masterpieces. A political, philosphical and brutal allegory of the destruction of our planet brilliantly acted by Jennifer Lawrence.
5. The Flowers of War (2011)
Watching this movie was one of the most eye-opening experiences for me: An American (Christian Bale) tries to protect a group of Chinese students and prostitutes from Japanese soldiers in 1937 Nanjing.
6. Sheperds and Butchers (2016)
A different kind of "true crime story": A lawyer takes on the murder case of a prison guard traumatized by the executions he took part in.
7. Slow West (2015)
The cinematography in this is beautiful: A bounty hunter keeps his true motive a secret from the naive Scottish teenager he's offered to serve as bodyguard and guide while the youth searches for his beloved in 1800s Colorado.
8. Enemy (2013)
This movie will mess with your head: A college Professor (Jake Gyllenhaal) discovers a man who looks and talks exactly like him. A strange tale of what is true and what is fictional begins to unravel.
9. La grande bellezza (2013)
This arthouse movie is for the ones who look for deep conversations, philosopical questions and the horrors and beauties of everyday life. A slow paced and hugely moving tale about modern italy.
10. The Lighthouse (2019)
Everything about this movie is top notch: the acting, the story, the visuals. A modern masterpiece that has the chance of becoming a classic: Two lighthouse keepers are stranded on an island as they slowly dive into insanity.

Day 5 of “The Dark Knight Rises” Catwoman countdown: Anne Hathaway
"I'm adaptable".
I won't say much to avoid spoilers, but Hathaway's performance as Selina Kyle is
stunning. The movie "The Dark Knight Rises" is a fantastic movie, Nolan is a true artist and I could not have been more happy with this version of Catwoman.
