My friend worked their ass off to send us manna from heaven. Feast!
hello guys!!!! i converted the velvet goldmine soundtrack to mp3 files so you can get them on spotify!! ill explain how to under the cut <3
hiii okay so this has to be done on a pc/laptop you cant do this from you phone, sorry about that!!
first download all the files and add them to the 'music' file on your computer.
next go to spotify (on ur pc and phone) and turn on local files. on ur phone its the second up from the bottom under settings. on pc under settings when u click on ur pfp its near the top, just look for the bold 'your library' and turn local files on. another section will pop up where you can add a source, add your music file/library
THEN!! make a playlist on spotify, name it whatever you want, add all the songs to it, and download it. make sure your phone and pc are on the same network so they can download to your phone as well, and you should be good
if you have any questions done hesitate to ask!!! babys on fire is an mp4 file while the rest are mp3s, for some reason when i made it an mp3 it WOULDNT WORK! but if its messed up for you im willing to convert it to mp3 for u js ask :3 sorry im so bad at written instructions, again if u have any questions im here to help

Here's something I've been thinking about: A hyper-fixation hotline! Maybe these already exist. Honestly I didn't look it up lol. I'm currently obsessed with Ewan McGregor so what if you could call the hotline, tell the dispatcher your interest, (i.e. Subject: Celebrities. Topic: Ewan McGregor) and then you'd be connected to someone you can talk to about him! Cuz like, I don't want to just talk TO people about my fave. I'm thankful for those that listen but they don't understand or can't get invested because they're not interested in him like I am. A lot of the stuff I talk about is their first time hearing it. I wanna talk WITH someone about Ewan. Someone who has also watched his movies, and listened to his interviews, and wrote fanfiction etc etc! So that I'm not just rambling to a patient stranger but I'm having a conversation with someone who gets it! Tumblr has been a godsend when it comes to finding people who share your interest, absolutely. I also wanna talk on the phone so I can satisfy the human connection hole I have. Like being able to hear someone's voice and then laugh or get excited or whatever. I need that. Anyway, just something I've been thinking about. For what it's worth, if you're a die hard Ewan McGregor fan and you stumble across this, then take this as permission to talk to me about Ewan! If you've wanted someone to ramble to then I'm that guy!
Okay, I'm taking a break from the movie and gonna share my ramblings thus far. Spoilers ahead!
The Moulin Rouge establishing number really is fun! It's just a headache when you're trying to tally screentime. I like Zidler singing and dancing.
The patrons singing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was awesome. Gave me chills.
Toulouse has my heart! I feel like he's edited to be shorter or something though. Something feels uncanny when watching him. Idk.
Nicole Kidman's singing doesn't do it for me. It's much to soft and she's consistently drowned out by others or the background music.
"Spectacular Spectacular" sequence was really fun.
Satine abruptly trilling and saying "I feel like dancing" to the Duke got the first laugh from me. That was 30 minutes in.
"Your Song" sequence was magical. I felt transported.
Surely Zidler could tell from his telescope that Satine was unconscious while (from his pov) she was being fucked. He was okay with that. And also with spying on an intimate moment π€’. That made me sad for Satine. Zidler might act like a silly uncle but he's still a pimp at the end of the day.
Hot take: I like the Duke. Why is he the bad guy? Cuz he has a moustache and funny accent we're supposed to understand not to like him? Are we supposed to think he's ugly therefore bad? I think the actor is handsome. He's doing a good job.
Another hot take: why does Christian love Satine? Because she's the most beautiful out of Zidler's sex workers? If Satine was a Diamond Dog instead of the Sparkling Diamond then what would happen? Does he love her because she made him think she loved him and he just couldn't get over it? I'm confused and feel like the movie doesn't want me to think about it.
I could understand Satine loving Christian easier than the reverse. He's innocent, naive, genuine, and handsome. He's the puppy and she's the master. He's completely infatuated with her. Like a puppy, he can't help but want to follow her and shower her with kisses and cuddles. If I were in Satine's place, I would appreciate that sort of blind and gentle worship when I'm sure it's not common amongst her patrons. It's still not enough for me but it makes more sense. Maybe I'll elaborate later.
What is Nini's problem? That smirk she makes behind the Duke after cluing him in to what is happening under his nose made me angry.
The Duke is genuinely trying to woo Satine and keeps getting shut down. Let us see why we shouldn't root for him! Why is Christian the better choice??? How do we know the Duke wouldn't treat Satine the same if he actually got the chance? I actually feel sorry for him because he thinks he has a shot and they're just playing in his face.
Okay, so did anyone else watch "Come What May" and think "oh my god these are their wedding vows!" π I can't begin to describe how precious that gesture is. My heart!
I will agree with Zidler that rewriting the play when the show opens TOMORROW is demanding the impossible.
Satine truly loves Christian. She's not doing this because Zidler owns her, or because her coworkers are depending on her to keep their livelihood. She's doing this for him. I admire her.
I'm sorry but can anyone tell me when in the world a couple would perform the Argentinian's tango? The thought seriously has me cracking up π€£
On a serious note: Thatβ’οΈ scene is viscerally powerful. I mean damn. They didn't hold back. I think I want to talk about that more later.
But while we're on the subject, let's go ahead and address the Duke. There's 36 minutes left in the movie and NOW we see he's not the right choice. 36 minutes! Also, I understand him being angry. He's right. Satine DID make him believe she loved him. She lied to his face for months. He tried to be understanding about her work. He tried to make accommodations. They were betrothed and he trusted that she was being faithful to him and honest when she said wanted him. That is not his fault. She played him and the rug was finally pulled out from under his feet. I think his pain and feelings of betrayal are understandable. Now, how he deals with that pain is not okay. And this is a bit of a parallel between him and Christian. It's not a perfect comparison at all because Christian was lied to for only 5 seconds unlike the Duke. However, I can't help but think about the difference between Christian's response to rejection and the Duke's. If we remember that Satine says her job is literally to make men fall in love with her then I imagine that the Duke's reaction is one she has dealt with far too often...
Moulin Rouge Thoughts
So guys, I've been watching Moulin Rouge, and well, I've been thinking. I've had a lot of thoughts while watching and should've done this earlier. Maybe I'll start doing it for the other Ewan reviews. But I wanted to jot down the things that cross my mind while watching because, oh boy, have things been crossing my mind. I'm just afraid that I'm going to come across as a psychopath at worst, and a dumb dumb at best. I'm trusting that y'all have better insight into this movie since it's so beloved. I only just watched it for the first time recently. Stay tuned...if you dare β οΈ
π Halloween Idea π
So, today marks exactly three months until Halloween! I have an idea that I want to share with y'all and need help fleshing it out. What if we had a Ewan Halloween celebration? Halloween falls on a Thursday this year and there will be five Thursdays in October. I'm thinking about hosting an online movie night each Thursday leading up to Halloween where we watch a scary Ewan movie! We can call it Ewanween, or HallowEwan, or just Halloween: Ewan Edition (I clearly need help with a name π ). I can set up a discord for us to watch together at a chosen time. Maybe on Halloween day we can do a double feature or something! I'm open to ideas! I was also thinking of maybe incorporating spooky/scary fanart and fanfic. For example, if for the 2nd Thursday we watch Shallow Grave then on that day we can share our creations that have to do with the movie/characters. What do you think? I've never done something like that before so it might be outside my abilities to put that together. Plus, I know there are other, more established, fan events that happen throughout October. It's just a thought! Now, as for the movies, we need five. I made a list of seven Ewan movies that I felt fit the Halloween vibe. If this idea garners interest, then I'll make a poll for us to narrow down the choices. Please let me know your thoughts and share with anyone you think will be interested!
16. Ewan McGregor Movie Review: Rogue Trader (1999)

We're nearing the end of Ewan's 90's movie run! This movie took me a looooong time to get through because it's so anxiety inducing! You've heard of second-hand embarrassment? Well, get ready for second-hand panic lol.
Fun Fact: Pip Torrens plays a supporting role in this movie as the boss of Ewan McGregor's character. They worked together on the 1995 television show "Kavanagh Q.C."
Genre: Thriller/Crime
Rating: R
Director: James Dearden
Starring: Ewan McGregor, Anna Friel
Synopsis: "Rogue Trader" is based on a real person and event which makes it even more painful to watch. The movie is about Nick Leeson, a young and ambitious employee at England's second oldest bank, Barings. Nick's dream is to work as an investment trader for the bank and after hard work, earns the position. His ambitions don't end there and as he strives to make a name for himself by any means necessary, his pride and deception lead to a catastrophic end that shocks the world.
Ewan Review: Ewan McGregor plays the main character Nick Leeson. Nick is a plucky young man eager to make his mark in the investing world. He's charming, intelligent, and cares deeply for his wife and employees. Unfortunately, he uses these positive traits to his own detriment and the detriment of others. As you watch this movie, it becomes increasingly clear why Ewan was hired for the project as he is Mr. Prince Charming himself. Ewan brings a soft touch to this role. Making a man who caused irreparable harm to god knows how many people sympathetic. You want to see his luck turn around. You want him to do the right thing even as he digs himself deeper and deeper into his mess. Ewan has a love interest in this role and several kiss scenes. He has a nude makeout scene, and is shirtless multiple times. He also gets a very clear ass shot. He gets extremely anxious, and sleep deprived. You will literally see him shake, cry, or throw up at least once. He gets hit in the face with a chair at a bar fight and has a couple boxing scenes. In other words, there's a lot of yummy content in here.
Screentime Percentage: Ewan McGregor is on screen for a whopping grand total of.....65 / 94 minutes! This makes his SP 69% π± That is a HUGE amount! "Trainspotting" has finally been dethroned and I honestly don't know what movie, if any, is going to top this score. So start placing your bets!
To Ewan or not to Ewan: Is the movie worth watching for Ewan content alone? Yes. Is it worth watching in general? Yes.
Warning Before Watching: In the very beginning of the movie, a man flashes his penis at a woman he's hitting on. You don't see his penis but it's uncomfortable to watch just the same. There is a miscarriage scene that features light bleeding. It's not graphic but if you're sensitive to such topics and would like to skip, it starts at 53:00 and ends at 54:06.
Where to Watch: Rogue Trader is available for rent on Fandango at Home and Amazon Prime Video. It is also currently uploaded for free on YouTube through the channels "Retrospective - Classic Movies" and "Real Drama". Just search "Rogue Trader 1999" and both options will come up.

Y'ALL!!!
I just watched a Ewan McGregor movie that puts The Pillow Book to SHAME π΅ I had to pause a couple times and take some deep breaths because my god! I guess this begs the question: what's more erotic? Nudity or dirty talk? I mean damn! Three words: CUCK. HOLD. KINK. My mans Ewan went in for this role, I'm telling you. I'm still reeling π΅βπ« I look forward to typing up the review!
