Twitter Drama - Tumblr Posts
I'm usually not into Twitter drama but this is wild.
I totally get the person who doesn't want white sims in Sulani (makes sense because the over-tourism in Hawaii is a problem and also the reason why I'll never travel to Hawaii). But kicking out black sims from Henford and Windenburg and acting like black people are colonizing Europe?! If anything the reason black people move to Germany and England is due to their countries being colonized by the West in the past. 💀

Small observations about tumblr from a former Twitter uesr
Here are a few things I've noticed:
people have much classier profile pictures
"for you" tab doesn't just show you insane people
how does this site's algorithm know some of my interests I've never mentioned
formatting is cool
this site is way better for blogs
liking replies isn't a thing so there's no weird norm where you had to like everything to not seem like an asshole
holy crap i'm actually seeing stuff i like on my timeline

why we need down votes and dislikes in social media.
for the longest time i had no fucking clue what a "ratio" on twitter even was. then i googled it. a ratio is basically when there is way more comments than likes. then my second thought was "wait that is a bad thing ? isn't the point of social media is to.... socialize? have a good discussion ?" then i remembered twitter is a toxic cesspool of the worst people online. on twitter there is no "downvote and move on", you HAVE to make a comment, or on the opposite side of the coin, you HAVE to be exposed to verbal abuse and scum. contradictory, reading these is incredibly addicting, making a controversial opinion and entertaining yourself watching people argue is addicting and does not promote growth. if you had a bad opinion and people downvoted you, then its an easy indicator to tell you went wrong. A number is not as hurtful as a string of personalized attacks. but comments? comments were made for discussion, so you are mixing the good and the bad together, promoting addiction and the lack of self improvement. It damages your mental health, for we were not meant to be exposed to that much negative attention (or attention in general to be fair). the moral of this story is that twitter is the same thing as heroin and that youtube's dislike policy is full of horse piss.
sometimes i check my twitter to see how things are doing. first thing i read is a bunch of people arguing about how breathing air is actually horribly offensive to X people and or it is the Y people agenda. then I remember why I left that shitsite and take a long break.
IMPORTANT PSA TO THOSE NEW TO TUMBLR OR REALLY ANYONE ON THIS SITE IN GENERAL:
IT IS OK TO REBLOG SPAM AND LIKE SOMEONE'S CONTENT ON THEIR BLOG NO ONE HERE IS GOING TO BE WEIRDED OUT, IN FACT IT IS ENCOURAGED THIS IDEA THAT SOCIALIZATION = BAD IS A TOXIC CAPITALISTIC TOOL DESIGNED BY HELLSITES LIKE TWITTER TO LEACH MONEY AND GOODWILL FROM YOUR BODY. I honest to god have no idea why "ratioing" on twitter is bad, like the act of engagement is considered a bad thing as if twitter were trying to encourage your toxic rage. oh wait that is exactly what twitter is doing. Twitter's entire business model is to encourage you to get outraged and to profit off of your rage induced engagement.
TUMBLR. DOES. NOT. HAVE. RATIOS. REBLOGGING IS A GOOD THING HERE. NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR THAT, AND HONESTLY MY MEMORY IS SO CRAP I FORGET Y'ALL RESPOND TO MY STUFF ANYWAYS.
All you need to do is change your profile pic and post something, and congratulations you now have a valid Tumblr citizenship. also to you twitter users: you can't cancel people on tumblr. this is a website full of eccentric weirdos. We are so far away from the mainstream that tumblr struggles to find advertisers for this site. At one point tumblr was very toxic, and the toxic tumblr people would eventually move to twitter during the porn ban. Twitter + the pandemic simply gave the toxic weirdos mainstream power to ruin people's lives. politely fuck off with your toxic crap, no one here is afraid to call you out on your obvious bullshit like on twitter. We don't have anything to hide here and even if we did your impact means NOTHING here. If you try to make tumblr toxic again then you will not be welcomed here by the community. Behave.
