Dear trans youth:
I am sorry.
I am so sorry you are facing more and more hatred nationally, which I’m sure is emboldening the transphobes in your life to express more and more hatred personally. I’m so sorry your right to safely exist is seen as “controversial” in so many places. I’m so sorry laws are being passed that serve no other purpose than to harm you.
I’ve always been cis, so I can only imagine how it must feel to have your life mocked and dismissed and so often threatened, targeted as a talking-point by bigots who promote violence against you because it “polls well”.
I’m horrified by the literal, this-is-not-a-joke, actual goddamn genocide already gaining steam in the Northern Hemisphere’s taint-stain I mean South, the US South. I hate that I am watching human rights get rolled back with every election cycle. I am more ashamed of my country every day.
As a Californian I feel like I can’t do much politically, except vote and sign petitions and write long emails to various representatives (find yours here), but I can at least tell you about some resources I know of:
The Office of Transgender Initiative is a San Francisco-based national resource with just, like, pretty much everything. And if they don’t have it, they’ll know where to get it.
This Texas-based nonprofit has counseling and crises guidance.
This Atlanta-based youth group has a crisis hotline, as well as a bunch of other hotlines.
This Maine-based advocacy group can hook you up with everything from literature to social events to legal advice.
This advocacy group has tons of information and counselors, with FAQs for many relevant topics including surgery prep.
This online support group discusses the ins and outs of medical transitioning.
This discord server has several LGBTQIA+ groups.
This risk assessment map can predict just how bad your state might get in the next two years.
This nonprofit can help you find safe housing, free food, legal council, and even a job.
This organization can help you if you’re about to be homeless.
This hotline can help you find a safe place to sleep tonight.
These folks, and these folks, and these folks, can give you free legal advice, including help with emancipating from your parents if you’re a minor.
These folks, and these folks, and these folks, can also give you free legal advice, including help with seeking asylum or refugee status.
This Lifeline is a wealth of suicide prevention resources.

I have somewhere to go, but getting there is my issue. I need money for my current bills and to be able to pay to send my things to my new home.
I'm currently waiting on my security deposit from my previous place, but I'm not even sure I will receive that due to some issues out of my control.
Anything anyone can do to help is greatly appreciated.

I know thats not the point but I feel like there can be many 'points.' Shed probably be a little confused on what that is so youd have to explain what being trans is
Once she kinda gets an idea of it she's still supportive and probably mixes up your pronouns accidentally at first but eventually gets the hang of it
She'd be supportive on any look/style you'd want to try and give honest opinions when you want her to
Either way still treats you the same way and trys her best to support you!

I think he might have a small idea of what being trans is or have some terrible misconsumption about it saying something bazar 😭
After you explan it a bit better to him he's completely supportive
I feel like he'd definitely either joke about becoming trans himself or send you trans memes all the time
Since he's rich and all I can see him buying you things to help you transition I to being trans (is that the right word?)
Like he'd buy you a binder if you wanted one and that sorta thing
Definitely would let you take some of his clothes if you wanted to try out his style

Probably either knows absolutely nothing on what being trans is or knows a good amount of what it is
You might have to explain some of the details and Ben would also probably do a little bit of research on it himself just to make sure what it is
Either way though he's 100 percent supportive!
He'd give honest opinions on anything you ask him like if whatever style would look good on you and what not
He'd also let you borrow some of his shirts if there not huge on you (which most likely are)

If he did know what that was he'd definitely thought it was a joke on YouTube or something
But after you explained it to him he was supportive
He'd let you borrow his shirts more and give you opinions on what styles look good on you
He'd be a little sceptical at first thinking it was a prank or something but when he figures your telling the truth he's supportive 100 percent

What have y'all found to be subtle ways to express yourself when you've been deep in the closet for your own safety? I'm in that position at home and I'm drowning. I can't dress differently. I can't even think about coming out or looking at HRT. It feels like I'm stuck, entirely, looking like and acting like a guy and I honestly can't think of a more suffocating thing.

Just because you haven't transitioned doesn't mean you are any less of your preferred gender
You don't have to be on hormones
You don't have to get surgery
You don't have to look androgynous to be non-binary, genderfluid, genderqueer, etc.
You do not have to do anything that you are not comfortable with to be you're preferred gender
YOU ARE VALID AND SO VERY LOVED!
But if you feel like doing any of the above will make you more comfortable with your gender, then do so, this post is not intended to turn people away from transitioning, just to spread love. ❤️
So i mentioned to my sibling (they/she/he) that i have very bad body dysphoria and that that makes it very shitty to shower which is why i usually shower in the dark. And like now that it's spring it's getting harder to do that bc the blinds don't fully work when it's light outside.
So they put something over the windows so that i can shower in the dark i-
