Handstands For You-  Geno starts his day by eating breakfast in front of the TV and ends up sponsoring a youth gymnastics teams.

Let It Grow-  He doesn’t know a lot about Geno but after thirty years he feels like he has a pretty good understanding of himself. He’s pretty sure he has a crush on his neighbor.

Selcouth- Evgeni is six years old and sits with his chin in his hands in front of his bedroom window watching the snow fall.It’s coming down in big, fat, flakes that coat the grass and the pavement.A car comes down the street sideways and bumps into his neighbor’s mailbox. Evgeni sits up straight and doesn’t breathe until the driver gets out and looks up at the sky without a scratch on him.His neighbor comes out of his house and instead of getting angry looks up at the sky as well, baffled.Tomorrow is September 1st.It’s Evgeni’s first day of school and he doesn’t want to go.

A Kingdom Or This- It’s Zhenya and Sid, Sid and Zhenya. Soon they race off before they’re even dismissed, feet stomping across the floor and in their hurry to get outside and enjoy the warm weather before the leaves change and the snow falls.Weeks turn to months which pass into years and they grow closer and closer .Zhenya brings books in his native language and they sit together in the tall grass as Zhenya helps Sid sound out words.Sid teaches him how to tie knots and how to sail, pulling him out of the water on more than one occasion, wings heavy with water and spluttering and then laughing when Sid dumps him into the bottom of the boat.They grow up together.

Oneirataxia-  Oneirataxia- (n.) the inability to distinguish between fantasy and reality.

I Am But Clay- He swings his head around to look at the clock above the door. The instructor is five minutes late and Sid starts to fidget, his knee hitting the underside of the wheel and when he pulls it away there’s a streak of dried clay across his jeans.“So sorry I’m late, traffic, didn’t leave on time. You know.”Sid looks up at the man that’s torn into the room like a hurricane.He’s long limbed and graceful as he squeezes past the chairs on the opposite side from Sid.He struggles with the strap of his cross-body bag, knocking his toque off his head and revealing a mess of brown hair.When he finally lifts the strap over his head his grey coat and black t-shirt ride up revealing a strip of skin right above the waistband of his jeans.Sid stares until he lowers his arms and drops his bag onto the chair behind his desk. He shrugs out of his jacket and Sid catches the shape of his arm before he forces himself to look away.

Sid’s Sweets-  There is an empty storefront across the street from Geno’s favorite Russian bakery in Pittsburgh.

Close To You-  Sid experiences a scoring slump. It’s starting to get to him.

Shoot Out Score-  Sid finally breaks the drought. Kind of.

Someone needs to make a fanfiction

a friend sent me Geno’s newest Instagram photo with the caption “single dad dating profile picture” and oops my hand slipped

Whoops I wrote Dad!Geno. I remembered seeing nanny/single parent AU but not the rest of it. Sorry!

The only thing that greets Geno when he opens his door is the light from over the stove in kitchen spilling out into the hallway and the soft sounds of the television floating in from the den.

He takes his snow covered dress shoes off in the foyer and lines them up next to Kira’s bright blue winter boots and Sid’s sneakers then follows the sound.

The TV is on with the sound turned down low. The DVR menu is taking up the screen while an episode of Friends plays in the background.

The sound of canned laughter as he walks around to the front of the couch and looks down at his daughter and Sid, sleeping soundly.

I’m glad I had time/motivation to get this second list finished by the end of July for @pensmonthly ‘s “Rec Lists” theme this month​.  I picked an arbitrary and sliding kudos cut-off and collected some of my favorite fics that won’t show up on the first 10 pages when you sort by kudos on ao3. I particularly tried to focus on older fic and ones not in recent exchanges because those are most likely to be missed!

Sid passes the next few days in a daze. He can still feel the touch of Evgeni’s hands cupping his face, the soft but insistent press of his lips. The quiet, helpless groan he’d made when Sid had gone pliant, leaning into the kiss and Evgeni’s touch like he was starving for it.

If Heaven’s Hypothetical by impertinence and shoemaster jeff skinner is a homeless runaway who somehow ended up serving eggs to eric staal in a carolina diner. this fic is so super good and is what really got me into this ship.

Bad Press by marycontrairebrioux, danny and claude’s relationship gets accidentally outed on instagram by one of danny’s kids. everyone is super supportive of them. which would be great- if they hadn’t broken up when danny went to montreal. would read could read a hundred thousand times. claude is a great step mom.

“Tell Sid no,” Flower says as soon as Sid opens the door, before Sid even has a chance to say hi to Geno. 

Geno raises his eyebrows, but, “No,” he tells Sid as he comes into his apartment, handing Sid the six-pack of beer that is his perennial contribution to their monthly potluck dinners.

“Thanks,” Sid says to Geno, “It’s just us this month, all the guys are busy, apparently.” Then he turns back to Flower, because he’s wrong. “I didn’t even say I was going to do anything.” 

“You were on your way there,” Flower retorts. 

“I–” 

“Have you told Sid no too?” Tanger asks, wandering into the hallway in his socks. “It is unanimous, if you did.” 

“It is not–” 

“It is!” Cath calls from the living room. 

“I’m not even proposing anything!” Sid repeats, exasperated. “I was just stating an issue.” 

“Is anyone ever going to catch me up?” Geno demands. In the time they’ve been bickering, he’s taken off his boots and his coat and hung it up, and is now standing looking impatient in his warm-looking cardigan. “What is Sid doing now?” 

“What am I doing now?” Sid asks. “Me? Flower is in the room!” 

“And I’m not doing anything,” Flower tells him, smiling beatifically. “I’m enjoying it, too. I never get to yell at you for being stupid.”

“I’m not–” 

“Someone tell me what’s happening,” Geno demands again. He takes the six-pack back from Sid, and pushes past Sid to head to the kitchen. Sid makes a face at Flower, who makes one back, before he follows Geno into the kitchen. 

Geno’s made himself at home in the kitchen, or as at home as he needs to be to know where the bottle opener is and to steal a taste from the sauce simmering on the stove. Sid smacks his hand away, and takes a beer of his own, ignoring Geno’s puppy dog eyes. 

“Come on, sit down, Flower and Vero brought these prosciutto things, they’re great,” Sid tells him. Geno perks up at that, as always. 

Sid barely manages to sit down in the armchair before Flower starts on him again. 

“You can’t do this, Sid,” he says. Sid looks at Vero. 

“Can you please control your husband?” 

“No,” She replies, patting him on the thigh. “Also, you cannot do this.” 

“If no one tell me what Sid doing, I’m going scream,” Geno says, around a mouthful of prosciutto. 

“I’m not doing anything!” 

“He’s going to hire someone to date him so that the people at work like him,” Tanger inserts, smirking.
