I have a vague idea for a fanfic taking place concurrently with the current new mutants comics run. Please let me know if you guys think it’s a good idea:
Deadpool gets bored and decides to make a got/asoiaf fanfic, except he’s too lazy to write it and therefore creates a group chat with a bunch of superheroes, all of whom share an actor with a character from the fandom. He then anonymously renames them based on their corresponding got character, and makes them behave in character (this has the potential to become hilarious given the differing natures of the marvel vs. got characterizations/casting).
For the characters who don’t have marvel counterparts, he chooses them based on what they do or who they hang out with--the guy for Bran would be an instructor at Strange Academy, etc.
Just found out that the ship name wolfstar is actually used for 2 different ships??? Like I was opening the hashtag for lesbian mutants and ended up with Sirius x Remus, which wasn't a bad thing, but not expected. Although there are a bunch of parallels (sad werewolf, more socially skilled bestie they eventually fall for, boarding school setting, etc.)
Would like to point out that even though Rahne Sinclair is Catholic in the New Mutants movie, she's Protestant in the comics (to support this: Reverend isn't a Catholic position, and she's raised by Rev. Craig). The only reason she doesn't immediately fall under WASP is because she's ambiguously Scottish, and therefore may not be Anglo-Saxon. In fact, the town she's from (Ullapool) is in Northern Scotland, and Anglo-Saxons were from the lowlands, so she probably doesn't fit the general definition, but might be categorized that way. This also means, that if she were to speak another language based on location, it would be Scottish Gaelic rather than Scots.
I have (in light of my current writing flow) decided to create and post the first supplementary story of "Deadpool's epic Game of Thrones Chatfic." Gwenpool runs into "Redheaded Arya Stark" and her blonde friend, and the story will be what inspires Wade to create his chat.

the worst part of x-men comics is how every 5-10 years we get a new batch of x-kids, give them really strong character arcs and plots - and then marvel creates a new group of kids and we never hear from the previous generation again other than tiny cameos in the background of the school
