I’ve seen very mixed reactions to this scene. I like the idea the the child that Illyana never got to be sometimes comes out. And it amuses me greatly that it is a pop culture reference that is literally from her youth, from during the original New Mutants run, that sets her off. Clearly those are precious memories to her.
Scott and Illyana's dynamic is still great
