PJO Equestrian Au

-Just imagine it

-They all go to a barn called SPQR Equestrian Center or maybe something like Neptune Stables

-Chiron is the head coach

-Silena is the assistant coach who is fresh out of college and always spoils the horses rotten with mints and sugar cubes from her dad's candy shop

-Her boyfriend Charles Beckonford works as a Farrier (makes horse shoe's and puts them on horses' hooves) and swings by the barn a lot, even if he isn't needed

-Then he bought a horse named Festus as an excuse to see Silena more (and because he loves horses)

-His apprentice/assistant Leo, tags along and Beckonford lets him ride his horse

-To be honest Leo rides that horse more often then Beckonford does and gives Festus loads of baby carrots so now he's basically Leo's horse

-Festus is toats in love with Silena too but I mean who isn't?

-Percy has the record for most falls off a horse, but it's not Blackjack's fault, it's because Percy does stupid shit

-"Hey Annabeth! Look! No hands- AHHH!"

-Blackjack will come over to his fallen rider and give his face a big lick and Annabeth will roll her eyes, trying to hide her smile

-Blackjack is also known as donut because once there was a box of shipley's donuts on a tack chest and Blackjack grabbed it and tried to eat the donuts, box and all

-Cue 4 riders simultaneously freaking out and trying to get the box out of Blackjack's mouth because that can't be healthy for a horse's stomach

-Percy is laughing and crying as he throws away the box of crushed and horse slobber coated donuts

-Tyson pats his shoulder, it was probably meant as a comforting gesture but Tyson is so big he nearly makes Percy eat dirt

-Tyson doesn't compete in shows like Percy because he gets way too nervous, but he loves riding his Clydesdale, Rainbow

-Grover is a stable hand and basically the guy you ask if you need help

-Percy wouldn't have survived his first month at the barn without Grover's help because "What the hell is a martingale? Do you think this is too loose? Which way do you wrap polos again?"

-(Percy was to embarrassed to ask Miss Perfect Annabeth for help)

-Annabeth has a horse named Yankee as a play on "Yankee Doodle came to town riding on a pony" (also her Yankees invisibility cap cause I'm so clever)

-Annabeth is the most experienced rider at the barn

-She's been riding since she was 7

-Yankee was an anonymous gift she got on her 12th birthday and Annabeth believes it was from her mother who mysteriously disappeared after she was a year old

-She's never told anyone this belief but her best friend Thalia who's house she practically lives at given her not so good relationship with her stepmother

-People often mistake her for Jason's sister and she loves it telling Thalia she'll trade her half brothers for Jason

-Thalia then hooks her arm around Jason and pinches his cheek saying "I wouldn't trade this guy for the world" and Jason is blushing like Thalia stahp

-Jason is a pretty skilled rider himself, competing in shows and earning ribbons with his horse Tempest who has an awful attitude around everyone, but loves his girlfriend piper who comes to hang out and watch him

-Jason glasses keep falling off when he goes over jumps, so he ends up having to tape them onto his ears

-Piper finds this very amusing

-Piper is at the barn just as much as the others and they forget that she doesn't even go there

-what Piper doesn't say is that she likes being there because it's better than her empty mansion

-Her dad once asked her if she wanted to start horseback riding but Piper has what she calls a cautious perspective of horses and prefers to just go on trail rides

-she steals... I mean "borrows" Tempest

-Hazel is the barn's best barrel racer and she adores her horse Arion who the others swear she trained to be an attack dog or something because if anyone tries to touch him but Hazel he freaks out and starts bucking and kicking and foaming at the mouth

-But then Hazel comes up and suddenly Happy Ears! He'll sweetly nuzzle her pocket, searching for treats and Hazel will hold up a horse cookie saying "give me a kiss first"

-and the others think he's gonna bite her but he just lips at her cheek then she gives him the cookie and a neck rub while he munches on his treat, cooing about what a good boy he is and the others are shook

-Nico comes to the barn to support his sister and absolutely does not look at Percy in those tight riding pants

-then one day a vet trainee comes by because a horse got sick and Nico is down like oh man he's got it bad

-the cute blonde is telling Chiron about the horses boo-boo's and scrunches up his face when he thinks hard about what they should do so Porkpie can get better

-Hazel notices Nico's not so secret crush and asks Will to take a look at her horse and oh by the way this is my brother Nico

-Nico ain't sure whether he wants to hug or strangle Hazel but he feels something because his stomach seems to have gone into his throat and gah!

-Frank is new to the barn and still kinda finding his way around

-He's given the tour by Percy then he sees Hazel riding Arion and looking fan-freaking-tastic

-And Frank is like whO iS thAT

-He has a total crush on her but Hazel is oblivious

-Percy ships it

-Frank has a huge draft horse he calls Gray

-Gray used to be his mom's army calvary horse and Frank got into riding as a way to be closer to his dead mother

-But Frank is terrified of that horse because he's ginormous and is prone to "moods"

-Reyna is the best rider in the barn and she knows it. Her and Scipio are always in perfect sync and look amazing

-Reyna really scored with Scipio because he's a total sweetheart and every one else is in love with him

-He was nicknamed skippy by Jason and it stuck

-No one calls him Scipio

-it's Skippy

-Reyna always shows up to practice early and goes up to the barn every day to check on skippy even if she doesn't have a lesson

-She's freaking dedicated okay

-to be honest the barn is basically the teens second home

Jasiper in my equestrian au

Tempest Iikes Piper better than Jason. Tempest is a total brat to Jason but when Piper comes around suddenly HAPPY EARS!

So, we have Solangelo pining for each other but being to oblivious that it's mutual, but how do they get together eventually? Who helped set it up for those two dorks, and what did they set up exactly? We all know that they would never get together if left to their own devices, they're just too oblivious.

-So I’m gonna explain the couples in this equestrian au-Percabeth and Jasiper are already together-Percabeth is the couple that’s been a thing forever and are super comfortable around each other-Jasiper is the newly together couple that is still working out the kinks-Solangelo and Frazel are getting there. -Basically Nico and Will are awkward dorks who dodge around each other so much they might as well be doing parkour-But they’re totally crushing on each other-Hazel is the oblivious one and Frank is just too shy to say anything-Correction they’re both super shy. Hazel only seems oblivious because she keeps on telling herself how there’s no way she can like Frank-Jason and Percy are the “match maker bros” of the group and if anyone is meddling in other people’s lives… it’s those two-Piper is the one who fussed at them and tells them to let the others get together on their own time-Jason says it’s too late because he already made a solangelo fan page on Instagram and it has 200 followers-Piper is so done

PJO Equestrian Au Part 2: Show headcanons

My first post of this au just hit 200 notes and I'm so excited! So as a thank you I posted a part 2! What happens when these wacko jobs go to shows to compete. Seriously thanks a million!

-When they go to shows they always end up carpooling with Percy's mom because they love her

-The girls have sleepovers in the eachothers' hotel room, singing songs, and staying up way to late when they should be getting some rest because they have to get to the barn at 5 in the goddamned morning

-They always book at the hotels that have free breakfast and Percy complains that nothing is blue but he inhales an unholy amount of Texas shaped waffles

-Annabeth takes a bite out of Piper's toast

-Piper swipes some eggs off of Annabeth's plate

-Piper is the most supportive girlfriend ever and going to almost all of Jason's shows or maybe it's just because she wants to hang out with the girls wHO KnOWs?

-They never leave the show until all of them are done because they have to cheer each other on

-There will be a section of the stands with a giant group of teenagers with an assortment of riding clothes and pajamas

-Annabeth is the person with the show schedule who jots down the scores and keeps track of time

-The others would never be in the right place without Annabeth

-Excpet Reyna cause she's perfect

-Don't even think about doing anything to embarrass the barn because Reyna will swoop down on you like a mighty eagle of vengeance

-At shows sometimes Percy and Jason are in the same class because of their similar skill level and they're always like "I'm gonna kick your ass!" "No. I'm gonna kick your ass!"

-Reyna takes none of their shit and gives them her "stop speaking unless you wish to die" look

-Reyna and Annabeth have a grudging respect for each other

-Being the best riders at the barn and all

-When they're around each other Jason and Percy are scared out of their wits

-Correction: everyone is scared out of their wits

-Chiron gets stressed at shows because he's running around trying to get to each of his riders

-So Silena is the one who had to make sure they're actually presentable

-Button up your collar Percy!

-Annabeth your hair is a mess, tuck those wispies in!

-Don't forget your glasses, Jason, you want to be able to actually see the course.

-There's dirt all over your pants Hazel!

-Frank! Where is your number?

-And Reyna... you’re good

-Frank got super nervous before his first show and Percy gives him a pep talk

-Percy: "repeat after me, I wanna be the very best"

-Frank: *hesitantly* "I wanna be the very best"

-Percy: "Like no one ever was"

-Frank: "Like no one ever was"

-Percy: "To catch them is my real test"

-Frank: "To catch them is-Wait. That's the Pokémon theme song! Percy! Stop laughing!"

-Frank ended up getting first and he had to ask at least 3 people if he heard it right before he actually believed it and his face broke into the biggest most heart warming smile ever seen

-then Hazel congratulated him pinning the blue ribbon on his coat

-then she kissed him on the cheek and Frank went bright red

-Jason and Percy take pics because they're ship is nearly canon!

-One time they went to a show in December and it was freezing

-They were all crowded around the heat buddy that Leo brought

-Like penguins nuzzling together for warmth

-It would've been nice if they weren't shivering and possibly getting hypothermia

-They walked the course all bundled up in blankets

-Percy and Annabeth shared Percy's little mermaid blanket

-Hazel had on 3 jackets, Her's, Nico's, and Frank's

-After Nico gave Hazel his jacket Will wrapped him in a part of his blanket because god dammit Nico your gonna freeze

-Jason takes a picture of them and puts it on snap chat with the caption "solangelo is real"

Burning Maze Spoiler

After I read the part about Jason's death I just listened to the most depressing music on my phone.

Then I had this thought. Remember how Aphrodite said she likes tragedy stories, ones with twists and turns. I can see Piper yelling up at the sky, with tears in her eyes and saying you wanted tragic well you got fucking tragic! Happy now? She cries to her mother demanding to know why.

On a second note does Zues even know Jason's dead? Imagine Apollo going back up to Olympus and asking Zues if he even cares about his dead son, and he's not just talking about Jason, he's also talking about himself.

Also everyone is talking about how devastated Nico will be when he finds out. But he's a child of Hades. What if he sensed it the moment Jason dies. Like he's just doing a camp activity, laughing with Will and his siblings when suddenly he feels it. He freezes and says no, tears swelling in his eyes. Will asks him what's wrong. Nico jumps up and starts pacing, saying that this can't be happening and staring down at his hands. Sketeltons start to burst from the ground around his feet and Will is trying to calm him down but he can't. Someone calls for Chiron and the centaur comes running. Everyone is staring at Nico asking what's wrong. Then he lets out the most anguished cry JASON IS DEAD!! Then in a small almost to quiet to hear whispers, he's dead.

I just finished reading the new Mark of Athena graphic novel, and I needed to share this panel with y'all. That's right. It's the ironic Jason and The Brick moment! BRASON! And what I find funny about this panel is that the brick SHATTERS???? My dudes... Jason's skull... is so hard... that is shattered a brick...

i love how in heroes of olympus, there’s a boat full of couples (+leo☺️). and yet even if you didn’t know when each couple started dating, it’s so blatantly obvious that percy and annabeth have been together the longest, and are the most serious

cause frank and hazel are still pretty nervous/unsure with each other. they JUST started dating, and are so pure and adorable. they just haven’t quite figured out the romance part yet

and jason and piper have their moments, but they’re just so… distant. like not physically, of course, but they just don’t really seem to connect on a deep level. and they aren’t super affectionate, at least not physically or openly. piper is constantly unsure about where they’re at, and while jason has thoughts about how great piper is, he doesn’t openly show his feelings too often.

but percabeth? they’re the oldest in age (physically), have known each other the longest, and have been romantically committed to each other for the most time. they act like they’ve been together for eternity, which is funny since they were technically only dating for 4 months before percy got abducted. but they just have such a deep history together and such an intense connection. they’re in it for the long run. there’s no doubt or uncertainty - and it shows. like…annabeth is so wife girlfriend. there are so many funny/cute little moments, like her scolding him for putting too much syrup on his pancakes, and telling him to take a shower when he smells bad. and when percy suggests him and jason should go on a dangerous quest instead of annabeth and piper, instead of being like “omg he cares so much about me😍” (which hazel and piper would have done) annabeth is like “what seaweed brain?? you think two guys can do better than two girls??” and percy is immediately like “uh uh NO nope i definitely do NOT think that!!” he knows better. the immediate fear is so husband boyfriend of him. they simultaneously have the most disagreements (remember when percy called annabeth out when she thought she should navigate through rome alone, and basically called her stupid for thinking it was a good idea, and then they argued and had a face-off, which percy won) - while also being the most lovey dovey (they’re constantly putting their hands on each other - annabeth putting her hand on his chest to calm him down, putting their hands on each other’s arms for support, percy having his arm around her when they’re at the edge of the ship, always giving each other a kiss on the mouth or the cheek when they separate, etc). and they have no issues sneaking off in the middle of the night to do some talking and kissing. and quite frankly, making out in front of piper in BoO (remember that? when piper got super uncomfortable at how long their kiss was lasting, and then annabeth let out, and i quote, “grunt-whimpers”). they are just so natural and comfortable with each other. piper says it herself.

i just think it’s so funny. little frazel being adorable and blushing when they hold hands, jiper is happy to be dating but they’re also a little angsty and uncertain, and then there’s percabeth just being the old married couple they are. (and leo is being cute and fixing stuff)

i ship percabeth and solangelo as endgame and jiper as they are. yeah they broke up, but i like that part too. and jason is dead, but i like that part about them too.

percabeth is about forever and ever. it's about i'll choose you over everything always and i'd do anything for you. it's about The One.

solangelo is about being in love for real for the first time. it's about i never knew love before you.

but jiper its about sometimes love isn't enough. it's about sometimes leaving is better. it's about it was nice while it lasted. it's about love doesn't have to be forever to be meaningful. it's about growing up and realizing there's no happily ever after.

percabeth and solangelo are romantic lover style, but jiper is romantic evermore style.

jiper is like there'll be happiness after me, but there was happiness because of me, both of these things i believe, leave it all behind, leave it all behind.

it's like every scrap of you would be taken from me, and what died didn't stay dead, you're alive, you're alive in my head, and if i didn't know better, i'd think you're still around.

it's like i was catching my breath, catching my death, and i can't remember what i used to fight for, and it was real enough to get me through the violence, this pain wouldn't be for evermore.

percabeth is like it's nice to have a friend, have my back every day, feels like home, stay in bed

percabeth (from annabeth's side) is like who could ever leave me darling, but who could stay, help me hold on to you

percabeth (from percy's side) is like have i known you twenty seconds or twenty years? can i go where you go? can we always be this close?

and solangelo is like my love was as cruel as the cities i lived in, but it's morning now, its brighter now, and now i see daylight, i only see daylight, you gotta stop in the daylight and just let it go, let it go.

Percy: I’m 40% awesome, 60% water, and 100% beauty.

Jason: That’s 200%

Percy: And I’m twice the man you’ll ever be

Since the series has brought the PJO books back to life, I was suddenly struck that I needed to get this off my chest.

I read the HOO books years ago, after the PJO books as well, and I liked them. Unfortunately, there were many parts I disliked.

This post will probably infuriate so many people and I will be referencing to future books, but I'm not interested in angering you, I'm more interested in what your opinion is after reading mine.

Don't write hate comments and don't strart hating my opinion just because I don't have the same one as you.

Battle with Gaea:

This was the biggest let down.

The battle with Kronos was gorgeous. It was beautiful with a great build up and so many emotions. I adored that entire battle. It literally lives on an invincible throne in my head.

I had high hopes for the battle with Gaea, after all she is more powerful than Kronos, right? It must be harder to defeat her, right? She has to fall to storm or fire, right?

Wrong!

Piper, don't worry I like her character, has so much dam power in her charm speak that she can put a primordial goddess to sleep. Unfortunately, I explicitly remember the prophecy not even mentioning her.

"To storm or fire, the world must fall"

Then Leo and Jason were fire and storm, but I'm pretty sure that "Stormbringer" is Poseidon's title. I get that Percy isn't always meant to be the hero, but he learnt that lesson. He wasn't the hero in his own book series. He stepped back in the Mark of Athena so Annabeth could be the hero. He knew that he couldn't always be the hero, so why did Rick make his arc be he has to learnt he isn't always the hero?

To be honest, I think that if Rick had written it that Piper didn't lull the goddess to sleep, but the seven all fought together again, that would have been better. Imagine the seven all working together. Imagine Percy and Jason creating a storm together. Imagine Leo ending Gaea in one fiery end.

It is honestly such a shame that nothing can shine on this fight, not when it will always live in the shadow of an undefeatable throne.

Ships:

(Not exactly sorry for what I say)

Percabeth, although cute, is not a perfect ship. They are not the "It" couple and they most certainly not what I would look for in a relationship. I don't want a girlfriend/boyfriend who gives me a nickname that constantly downgrades my intelligence. I don't want a gf/bf who judo flips me onto hard gravel. I most certainly don't want a bf/gf that is scared of me. I don't hate Percabeth, but Percy and Annabeth deserve better. Percy deserves someone that he knows he can talk to about Gabe while Annabeth, even if Percy chose her and gave her love, first needs familial love before romantic love.

Jasper/Jiper, was so bad. Jason got with Piper out of duty and they did break up in the end, but Rick got them to get together in one book. Secondly, Piper is so possessive and obssessive. I don't hate either characters, I just feel that Leo x Jason would have been a much better ship because at least Leo doesn't have fake relationship memories. For Piper, I would give her a girl. First, they would complete the quest then Piper settles down with a girl, like Rick did in Trials of Apollo, which I'm really happy about.

Frazel is cute. I thought the ship was adorable, but once again it felt like Rick was focusing on ships too much. They've known each other for two-three months and are dating by the end of a week. Not how I would plan that. I once again think that them getting through the entire quest would have been much better.

Caleo, in my opinion, is the worst. Leo wanted romantic love to fill the void he felt due to his lack of familial love. Why the hell did Rick think that giving him a love interest was a good idea?! Leo felt like the seventh wheel so Rick should've fixed that by, like, making the other seven want him around. You know, like a family? As for Calypso, I believe she should have either joined the Hunt or she was an asexual lesbian. Either way, I believe she would want to experience the real world before trying a relationship.

Solangelo was, quite frankly, my least favourite. Look, I love Nico and Will. Both are cool characters with so much potential, but it once again felt rushed. It felt wrong that Rick had Nico get over Percy only to get with Will like a week later. Secondly, Will and Nico didn't fit like yin yang. I know you're all thinking "Hey! That's my ship you're sinking!", but you have to admit that Will saying that the loneliness Nico felt at camp was fake. Nico was literally avoided because of his dad. The hell you mean, Will? I believe, Will and Nico shouldn't have gotten together. Nico should have gotten with someone else while Will explored his bi-ness.

Friendships:

There were so many friendship potentials.

Percy and Leo 1. Percy's burn proof-ish 2. Sass 3. Literally both met Calypso so why did Leo hate Percy when he left for the same reason? 4. Should've talked it out and figured it out 5. Bonded over having excellent mothers

Nico and Percy 1. Rick you butchered this entire relationship 2. Percy did trust Nico and had this relationship that essentialy said "The only person who gets to kill Nico is me" and even then Percy wouldn't have killed Nico 3. Took a dam prophecy to save Nico 4. Saved each other's lives 5. Deal with shared trauma 6. Like, cousins? You gave Nico and Jason time, can you please give Percy and Nico some time. They deserve to talk things over and figure things out 7. Percy did what he could for Nico to stay at Camp 8. Percy's response to Nico's accidental trick was completely fair because would you trust the guy who said they would help you but (accidentally, which Percy didn't know) led you to a death trap? 9. Top two most powerful demigods 10. Literally my fav characters (until the Nico fanbase made Nico feel so overrated, still love him though)

Leo and Annabeth 1. Two badass geniuses 2. Two book smart people on a giant boat 3. Both searching for love (Annabeth was hurt by her family and Leo lost his) 4. ADHD madman and ADHD Annabeth "Stay up till 5AM to work" Chase 5. Where was the friendship between the smartypants?

There are more but these are my top 3 platonic relationships that Rick would have explored.
