Newbury Park | Lee Heeseung

“i put my makeup on just to take it off, your favourite pastime is lettin me down”

honestly at this point you’re not surprised that he has stood you up once again. It’s been happening so often lately, all that effort wasted for nothing.

“newbury park’s pretty far from la, traffic is bad but i came anyway”

you’ve noticed that you had always putted more effort than he ever did into your so called “relationship”, to be honest you don’t know where you two even stand anymore.

“you’ll never think that i’m good enough”

has he gotten bored of you? you saw him with his “friend” that he told you not to worry about the other day. If he has time for her, why not you? Maybe you’d never be more than a fling to him so

“fuck you for wasting my love”

fuck him for wasting your love.

you glance at the brown haired boy sitting beside you as his eyes were glued to the bright tv screen

finding urself admiring him for a few minutes, you slightly smile

“what are u staring at pretty?” jake says breaking you out of your trance

“mm nothing” shifting your eyes back to the tv screen

he chuckles and pulls you into his lap with your back facing his front

hooking his arms around your frame “you know i love you right?” your boyfriend questions

“mhm” you pause for a few seconds, “i love you too”

jake smiles, “so, you wanna tell me what your thinking about?”

“m’just gonna miss you that’s all” you frown

you hear the boy sigh as he places a small kiss to the crown of your head

“i promise i’ll come back when i can” he softly says

“you promise?” you peer up at him holding onto his arms. he hugs you tighter, “i promise”

. . .

there’s a saying “you shouldn’t make promises you can’t keep”, however you trusted jake to fulfill his promise

he loved you right?

so now why do you find yourself sitting in bed 6 months later staring at your phone still hoping for a reply?

you haven’t heard from him since he left, maybe he’s just busy you would try to convince yourself

but being busy doesn’t mean going out and finding another person to fall in love with

being busy doesn’t mean you go post about your affair with someone else for your lover to see

a broken promise is what’s all left of him, sadly smiling you send him one last text

From a Distance

From A Distance
From A Distance
From A Distance
From A Distance
From A Distance

pairing : best friend!jake x reader

genre : angst, slice of life (?), one-sided love

warnings : none

a/n : i was listening to a song and got inspired to write this (lowk based on true experiences lolz) also not proofread

From A Distance

You find yourself stuck in a situation you can’t back out of.

Agreeing to fake date your best friend so he can make his crush jealous ?? cliche as ever but you agreed to it anyway.

Why? because you’d do anything for him.

Jake, the boy who promised to marry you when you were grown ups because you both liked vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles when you were 5.

Jake, the boy who stood up for you when a kid was picking on you when you were 8.

Jake, the boy who you used to raid the pantry with and eat all the candy until you got yourselves sick when you were 11.

Jake, the boy who went with you to your first school dance because he claimed other girls had cooties when you were 14.

Jake, the boy who comforted you during your first heartbreak when you were 16.

Jake, the boy who is your best friend and forever will be.

So why do you feel all fuzzy inside when he holds your hand in the hallway?

Why do you want it all to be real when you start feeling butterflies whenever you’re around him?

But then you feel a pang in your heart when he tells you that he’s finally scored a date with his crush.

You feel your heart stinging when you watch them across the street through the window of the café as he’s laughing with someone else.

That someone who isn’t you, that someone who will never be you.

Feeling defeated you push your feelings aside. Why? because he’s your best friend after all

So in the end,

“it’s better to love you from a distance”

From A Distance

𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐱 𝐟𝐞𝐦 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫! (bff!jake makes an appearance!) • read part two !

𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐬: you just wish you have the guts to say what you want, what you feel to your crush, park sunghoon.

𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐬 : 1.3k words | one sided crush | fluff at first then boom angst :0 | kind of made me sad actually | yn and sunghoon are friends!! | but hoon is a bit mean :< | this drabble was inspired by the song by niki :p

likes, comments and reposts are very much appreciated! <3

[below the cut]

you stared at the tall, handsome boy across the room. the room was twinkling whenever his cheek dimple appears when laughing, classmates’ eyes diverted whenever his eyes turn into crescent room, and classmates become temporary silent to hear his laughs.

ever since he stepped foot into your classroom from two years ago when he became a transferee, he grabbed the attention of female students and even staff board members. boys would gaze upon him whenever they pass by sunghoon with jealously visible in their faces.

i mean, who wouldn’t ?

you can’t deny either, he’s the most attractive person ever. in the classroom. in the school. in the world wide world.

his eyes would sometimes glance upon yours. when you both make eye contact, it would not last for even two seconds as you immediately look away. blush would run across your cheeks just by thinking about his gorgeous eyes looking at yours. you would nibble your bottom lip out of nervousness and overthink about your physical appearance.

did i look like an idiot? why is my lips so chapped? was my mascara smeared?

you questioned yourself multiple times in your head after walking home from school, how is he sculpted like the gods? why is he so handsome? why is he that perfect?

argh, just by thinking about it, unconsciously made your lips curl and heart beating like a rollercoaster. you shake your head to remove your thoughts about him and go home.

even though you’ve classmates with him for two years, you wanted to be closer. but you didn’t have the guts to do something. talk to him? pass him the notes the next day after being absent to take his ice skating lessons? buy him something? start a conversation? it’s too confusing.

you sighed infront of a locker. staring at it as if it would reply to you. well, you needed a quick response from whatever what you were doing. a wake up call.

you mentally marked it in your head.

locker #143 letter #12

god what were you doing?

writing letters to someone who barely notices you? how pathetic. you don’t even know what he thinks about you. does he know your name?

you were turning your body, ready to take off and think about sunghoon for the rest of the night. but before you take a step forward, you hear a familiar shout.

“y/n!”

you turned around and you see two figures, you recognized that one of them is your best friend, jake.

“oh hey jake!” you beamed at jake’s big smile towards you as he jogs towards you. your eyes then moved towards the figure behind him and your mind immediately blacked out.

it was sunghoon following behind jake. he saw you and smiled before going towards you as well.

“we were gonna eat tteokbokki at the restaurant across the street but we saw you~ it’s sooo cold so we wanted to eat something warm!” you can hear jake’s excitement through his tone as you saw him bundled up with his jacket and gloves. you noticed sunghoon’s attire. it was a simple hoodie with his fluffy jacket but yet he looked so cozy.

“wanna come with us?” jake invited. he stared at you with expectation.

“oh..” you mumbled under your breath. the sudden invitation made you hesitant because sunghoon will be there and you didn’t know how to act around him.

currently your heartbeat is echoing in your ears and you suddenly got cold sweat on your back despite it being winter.

you glanced to sunghoon behind jake as his hands were inside. he gently smiled at you as if he knew that you were wondering whether or not you’ll be a bother with them. he gave you a reassuring nod, mouthing, “don’t mind it”.

you swore your heart with jumping jackets. you swore sunghoon’s cheek dimple appeared when he smiled at you. you swore that sunghoon wanted you to be there with him.

“sure.” you breathe out. the heavy feeling on your chest disappeared with that one look of sunghoon’s eyes that spoke comfort and gentleness.

“yes!” jake jumped in excitement in his place. “we’re gonna go after sunghoon gets his scarf from his locket.” jake’s eyes moved towards sunghoon’s locker which was literally right next to you.

once again, your mind immediately blacked out. you panicked internally. not only sunghoon but your best friend will see your letter. you were the only one that knows that you like sunghoon. and you were scared that it might be obvious with how you’re acting.

you eyes looked over sunghoon’s hand unlocking his locker. you wanted to run away. you wanted to hide. you wanted to take back off the letters that you wrote in the past about him and forget everything. you can imagine yourself slapping yourself with your pillow.

but at the same time you were curious. will this be an opportunity to know what sunghoon thinks of you? does he likes the letters? does he know that it’s yours?

sunghoon huffed loudly which cut out of your thoughts.

“another one?” laced with disappointment.

your heart dropped at his reaction. you looked at jake beside you, his lips pursed in awkwardness.

you saw sunghoon stretch out his hand to grab the brown envelope. “hey y/n..” sunghoon turned to you.

your eyes widened, in fear if he knows. you gulped before responding to him. but your heart thumped that he said your name for the first time. that was a first for you.

“do you know this person?” he asked emotionless. eyes hoping that you know. you stared at the mini orange you’ve drew in the corner of the letter because you know he likes them; the drawing is humiliating you.

“no….” you tried to play if off cool, acting like you were thinking. sunghoon nodded when you responded.

“alright.”

jake bumped his elbow onto your shoulder. “sunghoon has been receiving love letters from the same person for the past month.”

“and it’s annoying.” sunghoon examined the brown envelope as if it was a disease. you can see the scowl on his face.

your heart swelled up at the contrast of his voice from earlier and his expression. his twisted eyebrows and puckered lips showed his frustration while looking at his name in the center of the envelope.

“it’s annoying?” you suddenly spoke, genuinely wondering why he would think of that but sunghoon nodded once again.

“tired of the same nonsense anyways. i won’t like someone who acts like this. i read the letters and laugh to myself because, how can someone be this delusional?” he snickered to himself as jake nodded, agreeing with him.

tears swelled up to your eyes as sunghoon looked down at the envelope, playing with it like a toy.

“acting like this? it’s a burdensome.”

did sunghoon indirectly called you a burden?

“if i meet this person, i won’t ever like them because i hate people like this.”

ouch.

that really did it.

“hey!” you suddenly made your voice loud, startling both of the boys.

jake panicked upon looking at you, your cheeks are pink, eyes watering and your lips were quivering.

sunghoon was alarmed with you. he was confused yet worried upon seeing your teary eyes. he was questioning what happened. he was gonna ask but you beat him to it.

you chuckled. “i forgot i-i have to help my mom with something. you guys can go without me-“ you cursed at yourself for your stuttering. “i’ll go! uh bye!” you smiled specifically at sunghoon with your teary eyes before dashing off.

idiot.

idiot.

idiot.

what sunghoon doesn’t know is that you like him.

what you don’t know is that sunghoon likes you as well. he was the one that initiated eating tteokbokki with you.

(jake would leave midway as apart of sunghoon’s plan)

-

this is my first tumblr post! i have a lot of drabbles in my notes app but i decided to post this one first because it’s completely done. what did you guys think? do you think sunghoon will know yn’s likeness towards him? will yn stop with the letters? i don’t know if i have a part two in mind but please let me know if you want! 😼 thank you for reading <3

includes : 1.5k | cursing (internally) | again with the one sided relationship sigh | i’m a SUCKER for angst so.. | jake is a loser and i would end myself if this happened irl | y/n you’re too nice :((

extra: olivia rodrigo is my mom , if i was y/n i would’ve slapped the shit out of jake but let’s not get too physical here eh?? :] , i haven’t seen much jake angst (because he’s the most loving human ever??? he would NEVER ever do something like this) so here i am… :D

likes, comments, and reposts are very much appreciated <3

[below the cut]

“thanks for making me get $100, babe”

you look up from your seat to see your boyfriend, jake holding a $100 bill between his index and middle fingers. he sent you a wink which already made you blush like crazy but then you slowly processed the words.

what?

“what?” your expression dropped. you looked at jake, waiting for a response for what he meant.

“i said,” he planted his two hands in front of his desk, staring down at you with his beautiful eyes of his. you stared back with nothing but confusion in your eyes.

“thanks for letting me have $100 sweet cheeks.” jake’s lips curved up. he slowly leaned towards your cheeks, pecking them before proudly looking down at his cash.

that little nickname he gave you made your hearts do back flips as usual.

you stood still before replying, “what do you mean? you used me?”

you’ve liked jake ever since he was in the school’s soccer team since sophomore year. he’s popular for his smartness, his godly visuals, his amazing personality of his that steals the hearts of girls, and his talents.

your introverted personality of yours didn’t dare to make a move on jake. you were undoubtedly shy and didn’t like social interaction very much. all of the girls were in line to ask him out and directly confess their love to him, but you didn’t. you weren’t in line, you were just observing him from the side, mentally noting what he likes, didn’t like, what topics he likes to talk about and many more.

the only proof that you like him was through a little post it note you had on your desk before leaving to go to cafeteria.

sim jaeyun <3

was all you’ve written in pink in your yellow post it note. you haven’t told anyone, even your closest friend for you would be afraid of the public teasing that would soon eventually let the whole school know you like jake.

five months, he suddenly asked you out because he thought you were the “most beautiful girl i had ever laid eyes on but was scared to make a move”, quoted by sim jake himself.

at first you didn’t question it as to why he randomly asked you out.

you remember that day, you were blushing like crazy, heart almost ripping out of your rib cage, and you had all sorts of scenarios and activities both you and jake can do because both of you are in a relationship.

well, were in a relationship.

“yeah.” your thoughts were interrupted when jake responded with a heartless tone. “i admit that you were cute when you bought me gifts, but either than that,

i’ve never liked you.” his tone was monotonous.

is that why i reminded him of my birthday? is that why i reminded him of our monthsavrie? when my classes end? is that why i was the first to everything? good morning texts?

thinking about your past memories where you felt the most happy with jake,

was all just an act. just for the damn $100 dollars.

jake being the first one to hold your hand whenever both of you met, even if it’s a minute in the hallways or meeting after school ended, him being the first to notice you shivering and toss you his hoodie even if he was cold, him volunteering to help you study your subjects even if it’s 2am, him wiping your lips with his soft fingers from eating ice cream, him listening to your rants and sobs whenever your parents fight late at night, and always looking at you with nothing but love and admiration you believed,

all an act?

you lowered your head, trying to contain your proper breathing and trying not let your tears fall down. you exhaled, closing your eyes.

“who asked you?”

jake’s face slightly clenched when seeing your eyes filled with rage yet tears threatening to spill out. “who asked you for the bet?” you asked once again but with a firm tone. you didn’t break eye contact. you were thinking of his friends he always hung out with, park sunghoon, yang jungwon, lee heeseung, and many more but you felt like these people - your best friends as well - would never hurt you like that.

instead of being sad and running away, you’re staring at your ex boyfriend with bitterness. the loving stare you’ve had towards jake was rather replaced as if he’s your enemy. yeah, you’ve been backstabbed.

“does it matter?” jake tilted his head, shrugging it off. “what matters is i got my money.” he flicked his bill right in front of your face, his tongue peaking when he mockingly smiled at you.

you glanced at the dollar and then back at jake.

“did i mean nothing to you?” you asked, your thoughts suddenly spilling from your lips. “was our relationship nothing to you?” a tear spilled out of your eyes. seconds later, multiple of them were easily sliding down your cheeks.

you stood up from your seat, looking directly into jake’s emotionless eyes. “did you have fun playing with my feelings? did you enjoy taking my likeness towards you as an advantage? were your friends having fun hyping us up whenever we were around them? did you at least have some fucking sympathy for me!?”

after screaming, you looked down. you were going crazy. literally.

“god, y/n calm down. you’re embarrassing me, lower your volume.” jake crinkled his nose, eyes wandering around to see if there was anyone near the both of you.

despite not looking at him, you can hear the annoyance in his tone and the rolling of his eyes whenever you guys argue. he would call you “overdramatic.”

“fine.” you gulped before looking at him. you imagined yourself as a crying mess. it’s like every argument you had, jake would not cry, but you were.

you had to contain yourself to not let your emotions overwhelm you, but it’s hard right now.

you just got used for money.

“i hope that $100 dollar bill reminds you how much of a shitty person you are.” you grabbed your book bag and ran for your life.

out of that suffocating room.

i can’t believe it, you thought.

he’s a bitch he’s a bitch why is he a bitch!? why did he choose me!? why did he hurt me? i did nothing but .. love him and be there for him.. what did i do to get treated like this??

your chest hurts like shit, you can’t breathe, you can’t think properly, all you wanna do is to hide forever and never face jake the following monday at school. you wanted to go anywhere. anywhere but be in a room with him, sim jaeyun.

god, love is fucking embarrassing as hell.

YEAHHH jake angst drabble🕺 idk how to feel this one as i can’t imagine jake doing such a thing :(( but we need a change don’t we ? i hope you enjoyed it!! thank you for reading!! ❣️

park sunghoon x fem reader!

synopsis : you’re in a crisis whether or not to avoid sunghoon forever after your indirect confession backfired, however sunghoon wants to know why you’re ignoring him. you realized that you can’t avoid him for the rest of your life.

here’s part one of take a chance with me!

includes : 2.1k words | cursing | jake and yunjin makes an appearance!! | angst to comfort to fluff !! | happy ending :3

extra : i didn’t expect so much love part one received T-T thank you so much for supporting it <3 | yn is me when i deal with a messy situation :// | sunghoon is touchy?? | both of them are a blushing mess lol | KISSING | i’m sorry if part two isn’t up to your expectations T-T

likes, comments, and reposts are very much appreciated <3

[below the cut]

“you like sunghoon!?” your best friend, yunjin shrieked. her eyes were wide and her mouth opened, leaning back in shock as both of you are sitting in your bed.

you nodded disappointedly, holding a pillow on your lap.

after what happened last week, you decided to share the news to your best friend, yunjin because one, you needed to rant to someone and two, you’re comfortable around her as she’s open minded with a lot of things - especially with boys.

“you mean, the park sunghoon?” she emphasized each other, leaning closer to you with each other and scanning you as if you’re lying.

you nodded once again. “alright yunjin, share it with the whole world!” you rolled your eyes with her as yunjin leaned back again, nibbling her lip. she was thinking of something to solve the situation you’re dealing with because heck she didn’t know how to fix this one.

“argh!” you groaned, laying down in your bed as you covered yourself in your fluffy blanket. you closed your eyes for a few seconds, trying to collect yourself and not rethink about last week.

yunjin just stared at you, eyes wandering all over your room. “well,” she started.

“sunghoon doesn’t know that it was you sending letters.”

you removed the blanket from your face, pouting at yunjin because she does have a point.

“but he said that he hates people sending him letters!” you shouted, once again putting the blanket over your head.

yunjin believes that you’re acting like a little girl. and you would think yourself too.

“but he doesn’t know that it’s you!”

“but he said it himself!”

at this point you kept arguing with yunjin, back and forth, screaming at each other’s faces. there was no solution except talking it out but you’re blushing at the thought of talking to him. you can’t bring yourself to talk to sunghoon, it’s just embarrassing.

-

[now playing… take a chance with me by NIKI]

in the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take.

you looked out the window as it’s a free period from your class schedule. it was cleaning period so all of your classmates are all over the place. you leaned down with your arms planted down on the window. your eyes were scattering at the outside view from your building.

the faded music from your classroom that was played from your classmates, did not help you in moving on from park sunghoon, if anything it made yoh regret everything, even your rejected letters.

your eyes were following each snowflake in a way to stay awake. your tired eyes were starting to shut off due to your classes that were stressing you out. you were also mentally drained from thinking about sunghoon and what to do.

do you continue being friends with him after he indirectly broke your heart or just flatly avoid him like a coward you are? both of them doesn’t solve anything.

you heard sudden screaming from down the hall. your eyes shifted from the view to whatever commotion was happening. it was getting crowded by girls so you didn’t know that was happening.

you kept peeking at whatever was happening. you were curious of it.

your heart paused when you caught a glimpse of sunghoon.

after the news spread like rapid fire that sunghoon won #1st place in his competition, sunghoon’s popularity rose. girls started to like him more and people wanted to be friends with him. it worsen your chances of liking sunghoon.

you noticed sunghoon’s cheek dimples when girls started mini conversations with him especially complimenting him and giving him gifts as a way to congratulate him in getting #1st place.

you smiled at the sight, feeling bitter as the feelings you felt last week were reoccurring. you miss that smile of his.

maybe it is time to move on.

as you were standing up, grabbing the broom next to you to sweep up the dust on the floor, sunghoon finally noticed you.

he’s been wanting to talk to you, heck, even see you but you weren’t in his sight. even when in class, usually you would try to steal glances (yes sunghoon knew about it but didn’t say anything) across the room but now, you just focused on the work in front of you. not even sparing a glance at him.

he observed you, assuming, are you ignoring me? he even pouted when you just left class, walking past him when his eyes were planted to yours, trying to make you look at him.

and now he has this opportunity in front of him. you weren’t busy nor occupied with someone. he quickly apologized to the girls, saying that he has somewhere to go.

he tried to leave the scene, making sure he isn’t pushing anyone and tries to jog towards you with your back faced towards him.

“y/n!”

you froze, recognizing the voice that was calling to you.

you turned around like a deer caught in headlights. you saw sunghoon breathing heavily, “hey..” he smiled upon looking at you.

you didn’t smile back, as you were shocked. you never expected a situation like this, not in public.

so you ran. you ran away away from him like the freak you are.

sunghoon was confused, standing still for a few seconds before his body moved to his own accord. he started chase after you. he was right about his assumption,

you were avoiding him.

that drove him motivation to more to run after you.

sunghoon noticed that you would walk the other direction if he approached you or look away if spared a glance at you. he wanted to know why. he wanted to know what’s wrong even if he didn’t do anything.

you didn’t know why your tears started falling after you made eye contact with sunghoon. your past emotions were resurfacing and you didn’t want to see sunghoon witness your pathetic side.

you wanted to run away and hide from sunghoon.

you didn’t know where you were going.

your legs soon gave up and you ended up in the school’s backyard. you were by yourself which was a good thing because no one will have to see you cry.

you were shivering like crazy because yeah, you just ran away towards outside when it’s snowing and you have nothing but a skirt (your school had heaters so you don’t feel cold once you enter) and a cardigan.

so smart y/n…

you were panting like crazy as if you ran 8 miles. you placed a hand on the wall to catch your breath.

“y/n..” a voice trailed behind you, also panting.

fucking park, did you follow me?

you turned around to see sunghoon with his messy hair and his messed up uniform. you noticed that he had a messy collar from running. you know you can’t run away from this situation.

“why..” you muttered at him with glossy eyes. you were undoubtedly confused as to why he followed you.

sunghoon slowly walked towards you and you noticed that he was holding his long coat in his arms. you looked back at him with hurt visible on his expression.

“why are you avoiding me?”

you were at a loss of words at the sudden confrontation. your heart was beating like crazy and you curse at yourself as to why you can’t form a single sentence. geez you might believe that sunghoon probably hates you.

“um..” come on y/n think!

sunghoon was staring at you, expecting a response but as he saw you shivering like a dog, he approached to you with his coat. he stood in front of you which didn’t help yourself form words.

he wrapped it around your body, sending electric shocks in your body from his fingers touching your shoulders. you slowly looked up at sunghoon as he made sure to cover every inch of your body with his coat, even if it’s touching the floor.

“whatever i did,” sunghoon was fixing the collar as you kept staring at him with a sad smile. “i’m sorry.” he finally looked at you. your eyes started to swell up with tears like a crybaby.

you looked down so sunghoon wouldn’t see your tears falling. “you don’t understand,” you whispered. “you hate people like me.” you swore that your voice cracked.

sunghoon tilted his head at that assumption. “who told you that?” he tried lowering his head to look at you. “i would never hate you.” he softly said, hands slowly placed onto your shoulders, gently massaging them to ease you.

“whoever said that is a bitch.” you chuckled at sunghoon’s words. how ironic.

“i guess you’re a bitch.” you looked up to him with a slight, amused smile. his eyebrows quirked at your words. you looked at him and noticed the snowflakes on his hair. you wanted to remove them but you held back.

“what do you mean? have i said anything?” you can hear the genuineness in his tone. you can’t be mad at him forever, it’s not even his fault.

“those love letters,” you decided to just spill it out. “do you why they’re gone? why you’re not receiving them?” you didn’t expect a response. “because they were from me sunghoon. i wrote the letters to you.”

now it was sunghoon’s turn to be frozen. his hands stopped massaging you, his lips puffed out air in shock, and his eyes are slightly wide. you couldn’t handle his stare so you sniffled, looking down.

you expected a disgusted look from sunghoon and let him reject you. what you didn’t expect is that, it didn’t happen. your imagination became false when you felt his lips onto yours.

you felt like time stopped. your eyes were wide in shock and your body became still. you felt sunghoon’s fingers slowly reach your waist, digging into them to be closer to you.

his eyes were close and his lips were slowly moving, hesitant to continue. your eyes were slowly closing as you realized that sunghoon is indeed kissing you.

you can hear your rapid heartbeat echoing in your head and you stopped crying. you can imagine yourself a blushing mess and your thoughts are all over the place.

the park sunghoon is kissing me.

sunghoon let go (unfortunately) and looked at you while you were processing at what happened. sunghoon saw your cheeks becoming more red but didn’t comment about it. he instead, fixed your hair strands from your face and put them behind your ear. he noticed a snowflake falling onto your nose. he wanted to kiss it but he controlled himself.

“i’m sorry. i didn’t know it were yours.” sunghoon’s hand slowly reached to the side of your face, his thumb staying at your tear stained cheek as he gently rubbed your skin. you leaned towards his soft touch. “fuck y/n i really am sorry.” he apologized once again, feeling utterly terrible.

“i only said that because i like you. i only said that bullshit because i’m in love with you, not anyone else. i didn’t want anyone else but you.” you were at a loss of words.

“i like the way you help others before yourself, how passionate you look like talking about the things you like, how you look so focused on the classes i don’t even like, the cookies you baked for the class, i liked them. i liked every bite of them. i like your eyes, your hair, your voice-” your eyes dilated at the sudden confession sunghoon is making about you as he starts looking at the ground because he can’t look at you in the eyes when he’s confessing his love for you.

“shit i-i didn’t know it was yours, i didn’t mean to hurt you last week-“ sunghoon was rambling whatever what was coming on top of his head. he wanted to ramble to show how regretful he is.

“hey,” you softly spoke, catching sunghoon’s attention. he looked at you with sadness and disappointment, especially in himself. he doesn’t deserve a girl like you. you just smiled at him as he was wondering why you aren’t punching him in the face.

well, you did call him a bitch…

“you didn’t know it was from me, it’s only natural to react like that. i became an idiot and didn’t talk to you about the letters, i was just a coward because i was scared to be rejected by you.” you chuckled at yourself, shivering at the cold despite being covered by sunghoon’s coat.

sunghoon noticed and pulled the coat tighter on you. he even buttoned you up so the snow won’t touch your clothes. you can’t help but feel warm on the inside. “yeah an idiot for running without a jacket.” he replied, pouting at your stubbornness.

“i’m assuming that you threw them away?” you asked sunghoon as he guilty looked away. you weren’t mad at him, for he didn’t know. “i’ll start writing them again.” you said confidently. you didn’t know where your boldness was coming from.

sunghoon looked at you with sparks on his eyes. “but on one condition.” you suddenly said, using your index finger.

“mhm go on i’m listening.” sunghoon stared at you with a loving gaze and his hands wrapped around your waist and you suddenly can’t speak.

is this his way of flirting?

abruptly, you stood on your tippy toes and pecked his lips. sunghoon was caught off guard when he felt your lips on him. you looked at him innocently when his lips were ajar. you smiled cheekily at him.

“shit y/n,” he pressed his chest with his palm. “you can’t do stuff like that.” he pouted and you can’t help but giggle at the sight you’re seeing.

“like what?”

sunghoon leaned down towards you. “two can play that game.” you saw sunghoon smirked as he whispered to you, feeling his warm breath onto your skin.

you were about to ask him what he meant but he beat you to it when both of his hands cupped your face, making your cheeks squished. he smiled at the sight before kissing you once again and the warm feeling inside of you happens once again. both of you felt it.

the feeling, it felt so right. your lips felt perfect onto his. you smiled against the kiss and sunghoon felt it. he smiled into the kiss as well. he tilted his head to the side, kissing you deeper. you couldn’t breathe both literally and figuratively.

both of you stopped, panting for air. both of you leaned away but sunghoon still cupped your cheeks because he wanted to be close to you. both of you were a blushing mess but kept quiet about it as you kept smiling towards each other, never wanting this to end. you both leaned your foreheads together, being silent but staring into each other’s eyes.

“what the fuck.”

sunghoon turned around and saw jake. you squinted your eyes from afar and saw yunjin staring. the two of them stared at the both of you with a stunned expression.

can’t wait to explain this one.

tired is all you can describe this heart-wrenching feeling.

your 7 month relationship had to come to an end with riki because of a miscommunication.

you’re tired of arguing with your boyfriend every time you’re with him. the innocent-puppy relationship during the beginning of your relationship had turn into nothing but toxicity and lost.

there was a rumor that riki had been cheating on you by kang haerin, another popular girl in your school. riki and haerin have art class together, seated next to each other and people in that class always have shipped them together because of how much joy they look like talking to each other. a good looking person and another good looking person together made you insecure. everyone loves haerin, more than they love you but that’s irrelevant.

both of them would talk, giggle, crack jokes, etc. everyday. people might actually mistake them two for dating.

the rumors that was kept only inside the art classroom have spread to the whole school.

the first time you confronted riki about it, he dismisses it.

“she’s just a friend babe.”

he distracted you with kisses which didn’t fully satisfied you but you let it go. you warned him as he nodded carelessly. riki took you out on an after-school date. to your favorite cafe and even paid for your favorite drink.

that day which made you forget the whole situation.

the second time, “did you see how close haerin was to riki together? if she scooted closer to you, their bodies are literally compressed.”

you turned to riki again with an upset attitude. riki defended himself saying that, “the teacher chose us to be models for today’s class. it was for reference, i wasn’t even touching her.”

that broken feeling still lingers from that day when you stared at him with angry, teared eyes. you couldn’t believe whether or not that you expected to hear more reassurance

or just plainly believe him.

riki didn’t look confident in that answer, he just wanted to say something so you can change the topic. you did change the topic, giving up. you didn’t want to bicker. riki walked you home from school, pretending nothing happened as you held holds together.

as days passed, it got worse. the rumors got worse, saying that they deserve to date each other — to say that riki should break up with you. haerin will be the better girlfriend.

you couldn’t handle that. you didn’t want to continue hearing rumors about riki with another girl. if he wanted to be with another girl, he could’ve broken up with you first so you wouldn’t be cheated on.

you didn’t get it, were you good enough?

you remembered being in the parking lot at night with riki, creating awkward distance between each other. riki stood there, looking down at his feet and hands in his pocket. the wind was making his hair messy as his expression felt empty. the lights reflected a sad expression on his face, making your heart heavy.

you took a glimpse at him, having an overwhelming emotion on your chest. you didn’t want to do this- you didn’t imagine this would occur but this was for the best.

“let’s break up.”

riki’s ears perked up at your words. staring at you with disbelief, utterly speechless. you didn’t look at him, feeling ashamed with yourself. you can’t look at him. you just can’t.

riki’s heart was beating fast, his thoughts spurred all over the place. he didn’t know what to say but all he can hear is his heart crack.

then anger took over. “is it about haerin?”

it was your turn to be speechless at him. you saw that riki’s eyes were piercing at yours with a cold-hearted expression. his jaw clenched and you scoffed at that.

“i never mentioned haerin.” you tried to maintain eye contact with riki who snickered.

“well why else would you break with me?” riki’s jaw soften when he started to see your teary eyes. you didn’t want to cry. you wanted to call it off and leave. you didn’t want to show your vulnerability for your scared that riki would dismissed it and pretended like nothing happened.

“i-i just can’t handle it. i just feel like our relationship isn’t sincere.”

riki’s head hung low, secretly agreeing with you. you covered your mouth with your sleeve as you look away from him, tears finally spilling. you wanted to scream and sob but you prevented yourself from doing so.

riki noticed it too. the amount of times you pass by him in the hallways without finding him and lack of conversations with him, he felt it too. but he didn’t want to say anything. he didn’t want to believe that your relationship was changing. he didn’t want to let you go.

riki can’t imagine being with someone else. you being with someone else. he can just feel the connection both of you have.

does he now?

it’s been a week since that happened. you hadn’t appeared in school. you didn’t want to face riki in the hallways or in your classes. also you wanted to stop hearing “haerin x riki kissing in a tree k-i-s-s-i-n-g” every time you walk out of your class. you would become angrier at those childish remarks.

you lost weight, lost appetite, lost motivation to continue with your life. call you dramatic but you believed that riki changed you into a better person. the times where he would look for you in a room, you would hold his pinky finger in crowds so you won’t lose him, his body leaning to you whenever he laughs and you sharing your desserts with him after school. it was genuine. you knew how genuine both of you were in the relationship. commitment.

it just lost its spark.

is this what it meant: right person, wrong time?

you decided to visit the park both of you always visited whenever he dropped you home from school. already tears were spilling when you suddenly recalled the both of you sitting in a bench together under a tree. you can still hear your laughters combined together.

you exhaled shakily, walking slowly to the bench. you sat down and it instantly feels colder - more emptier. you looked to your side, riki’s seat. you wish he was here with you, comforting you.

you can’t move on from him. not yet.

“y/n?”

your ears perked and your head immediately looked up to see a surprised riki in front of you, coming back from school.

you immediately picked yourself up. you were not looking at him as you were trying to leave him but riki beat you to it when he lightly gripped your wrist.

his touch immediately made you pause. you missed his touch, the feeling of him. he noticed that you stopped so he loosened his grip.

you turned around and see his doe-like eyes looking at yours. it was nothing but sadness and exhaustion. you felt crying on the spot to see riki like that.

there was nothing but silence. tension increased as you both of you kept staring at each other. unspoken words being exchanged.

“i’m sorry.” riki spoke first. you were still silent, thinking of what to say but riki continue, fixing his posture. “i’m sorry y/n, i-i was such a jerk to you. i was being inconsiderate of your feelings. i was stressed about shit that i took the anger out on you. i don’t even like haerin, god haerin isn’t my fucking type. you’re my type, it’s you- i think of you when i wake up and when i go to sleep- i can’t stop thinking of you, i-i just miss you so fucking much it’s-“

riki kept rambling, not caring if it made sense or not. every second that he looks at you, he kept pouring his feelings to you. you were in front of him so he took the chance to apologize to you and let him spill his true feelings about you.

you stopped him, rubbing his wrists with your thumbs. you were smiling at his words as riki was captivated by your beauty. “slow down…” you reminded him. riki then realized that his chest hurt from speaking too fast.

god he misses your voice. he almost cries at the sound of your voice.

“i’m so sorry y/n, i really don’t deserve you.” riki’s tears were also visible, his voice whining as he tried intertwining his hands to yours. your eyes looked at the way his hands tried to go for yours. it looked perfect. a perfect puzzle piece.

“you’re all i want.”

those were the words that you wanted to hear from riki. you took a step forward to him. you realized how much of mess he is, just like you. you tippy toed as your arms moved around his neck as your head was buried to the crook of his neck.

riki immediately hugged you back. his arms moved to your waist, almost crushing you as his head moved to your neck, inhaling your scent. he closed his eyes, in a state of relaxation and comfort when he’s in your arms again.

[below the cut]

“party tonight?”

you got a text from yeonjun. you stared at it as if it was an experiment. you were surprised indeed.

oh because you were never a party person. you avoided parties because…..

1. you didn’t like loud noise music for it can easily cause an unnecessary migraine and then ruin your night

2. you didn’t want to experience underage drinking with a bunch of kids you barely knew

3. the smell of vomit and sweaty people gave you an ick

4. people bothering you or strangers just casually making a move on you

5. overthinking that the police will somehow find out that a bunch of dumb high school students are doing illegal and sexual activities after an old woman down the street snitched on them

6. you just find being alone on a friday night with a bucket of ice cream and watching your favorite youtube videos, all snuggled up in your blanket >> parties

jake would sometimes invite you to parties that his friends would host at their expensive, large mansions that would be twenty minutes away from the city. it would be somehow isolated but never a bother to the neighbors. surprisingly, heeseung - the host would never get caught or snitched on. rumors spread that he has the best parties.

but you would reject the invitation. jake insisted as a way to enjoy youth, but you never find a reason why drinking and be around sweaty people are things to enjoy youth.

but two weeks later, you’re still a mess with that dumb breakup you had to deal with and you were asking for a change. a change to find your confidence. your own self worth. you changed your hair from blonde to black, wore different kinds of clothing to find a style that felt right, bought new skincare items, new makeup and inserted a new mindset; focusing on yourself.

not gonna lie, even if jake was acting, he was the best boyfriend you ever had compared to your past relationships. maybe that’s why you sometimes get flashbacks from your memories or wished that you were still dating him but no. you can’t do that, that’s so pathetic of you.

“you know i don’t do parties.”

“it’s at my house babe. 9pm, ten minutes away from gangnam. only inviting special people ;)”

you were thinking now, whether or not to go. you trust yeonjun with all your heart because he’s the sweetheart of the school. he would help you in english class but you were still a bit hesitant.

“i have fruit punch saved for you”

okay that’s settled. he knows you so well.

“i’ll see you there👍”

“ooo exciting, don’t look like a rat😘”

“you’re the rat🙄”

“a beautiful one💥😍”

you snickered at yeonjun, tossing your phone at the bed as you leaned back to your bed. you closed your eyes, lightly humming to make a decision. it’s only 4 hours before 9pm.

you got off your bed, grabbing your towel along the way to the bathroom.

-

“okay…” you exhaled, hands shaking as you rubbed your stomach. you feel the soft material, having an unfamiliar feeling as you felt weird… a good weird..

you were wearing a black ruffled dress. there was a rose around your hip, showing a thigh slit as it was including a mess tub top as apart of the dress. it looked perfect for a clubwear. well, yeonjun said to not look like a rat and this is what you had.

you sent a picture to yeonjun ask for help whether or not people wear these kinds of stuff. apparently they do when he replied with three fire emojis.

you slipped on platform boots that helped you gain an inch or two in your height, making you feel confident now that you’re taller.

you looked a last glance in the mirror, deciding to take last minute photos because you reassured yourself with an awkward smile, clinging onto your shoulder bag tightly.

have fun and don’t end up in someone’s bed.

you finally head out with your body scented like strawberries and cotton from your newest perfume collection.

-

yeah, you knew this was definitely not your comfort zone. the moment you left the taxi door, the sight of flashing lights and blasted music welcomed you. you noticed a few people in the lawn, talking, vomiting, heck even making out. although it was the norm, you weren’t used to it.

you can see the scene inside that was even more chaotic and you can’t imagine having fun with people all up on you.

you felt out of place but maybe you were overthinking it.

you shake off the thought and just head straight in, texting yeonjun that you’re here.

walking inside, you’re immediately greeted by mark lee from your physics class. “y/n hi!” he greeted you with his red cup, smiling at you. you muttered a hi back. “you look cute.” mark complimented your look. you blushed at the sudden appreciation comment, for how popular mark is and how hard it is to be friends with him due to his popularity.

“woah…” you mentally freaked out walking away. you tried to squeeze yourself into a little corner in hopes you see someone familiar or just eat and people watch.

you see a bunch of snacks all over the table counter. you took whatever you were craving for, kettle chips. you can’t go wrong with those.

your eyes wandered everywhere in curiosity. you’re supposed to be partying but you’re backing out, feeling like a little kid with their older sibling and their friends.

“hey!” you noticed yeonjun walking to you with a smile. your eyes trailed to the boys behind him, especially the one with a dyed mullet.

“here’s your fruit punch m’lady~” yeonjun dramatically handed your drink to you as you did a little bow, responding to his attitude. it bought laughter within the group.

“you’re y/n right? yeonjun has been talking about you to us!” your eyes looked up to see one of the tallest men you’ve ever seen in your life. it was soobin, one the people you’ve seen in the hallways.

usually you would see soobin the in the hallways with his airpods and his hood on, walking straight to class in your sophomore year (you’re a senior now). you’ve always found him intimidating and hard to approach but here he is, standing in front of you with his cheeks dimples showing. it melted you on the spot, finding him cute.

“really?” you raised an eyebrow at yeonjun in suspicion but he quickly dismisses that accusation. “i was just excited to see you because you never come to parties.” yeonjun leans into the table counter.

“hmm…” you murmured, trailing your thoughts. you placed your cup on the table after taking a sip. it is fruit punch.

he’s right about that. “just something to try.” you took a tip, eyes falling to the same mullet guy. he noticed your stare.

“parties aren’t your thing?” he suddenly looked at you, making your heart freeze whether or not he caught you looking at him.

you slowly nodded. “yeah i really don’t understand this whole,” you used your hand to demonstrate. “type of situation. if anything i’m more of a binge eating a bucket ice cream at 6pm.” you shrugged your shoulders. you heard the guy laugh which relaxed your nerves.

after he laughed, he looked at you with a soft smile. the lights reflecting on his face bought an emphasis on his features. he looked handsome in your opinion.

“so do i…”

“y/n!” you perked up. “i’m y/n.”

“i’m beomgyu.” both of you smiled at each other, bringing yeonjun and soobin to tease. “i think its our time to leave~” yeonjun interlocked arms with soobin, forbidding his goodbye as his dance suddenly jammed to the music that was playing.

surprisingly you felt comfortable being alone with beomgyu despite just meeting now.

you saw beomgyu scoot closer to you but still kept his distance to make you comfortable. you felt somehow excited to share a conversation with him.

-

“yo bro.” jay tapped jake’s shoulder, interrupting his conversation with a friend of his. jake raised an eyebrow at jay, following the direction of where his finger was pointing to.

“isn’t that y/n?” jake’s jaw slightly dropped in amusement, his head tilted to the side at the sight he was watching.

jake sees your face, filled with giggles and laughs as you talk with beomgyu. he noticed how your hair got darker. it emphasized your face features that he didn’t notice earlier during your ‘relationship’.

oh? was on his mind. he knew that you didn’t go to parties, let alone reject his invitation. so seeing you with an attractive dress on made him clench his jaw.

“she’s hot.” jake’s eyes flickered to sunghoon who’s shamelessly drinking from his cup. it was gold coming from sunghoon for he said that y/n isn’t his type.

jake rolled his eyes, moving his head towards you before his eyes did the same. his eyes were shooting daggers behind beomgyu’s head but you didn’t noticed his presence.

who is he? isn’t that beomgyu? since when beomgyu likes y/n? what’s so funny? what are they talking about? what is she laughing so much?

jake’s thoughts disappeared when he felt jay slapped his shoulder, slowly wrapping his arm around his neck. he also stared at beomgyu and you with pursed lips.

“are you thinking about y/n?”

jake bursted. “what? no! why would i think of her when she’s not my type?” jay sneered at his defensive friend. his eyes would still linger to you despite saying those words.

“stop being in denial sim. i still can’t believe that you used that dumb excuse to break up with y/n because you’re moving schools.”

jake sighed, agreeing with his friend. he’s right, jake was moving schools and he couldn’t tell you in person.

jake didn’t have the guts to say in front of you. he instead decided to make you angry instead so both of you can move on easily.

the $100 bill? jay’s wallet.

“jake,” jay spoke, leaning closer to jake’s ear when he witnessed a sad pout from his friend.

“win her back.” jake’s eyes sparkled.

-

“i really don’t like mr. kim. he’s such a pain in the ass giving us math packets each week. he should be focusing his time working out instead.” beomgyu rolled his eyes, taking a chip from your bag before munching it.

you giggled lightly with that comment because you agree with him. “i know right! he’s such a pain of an ass when it’s all due next week- which reminds me i haven’t done 5.2 yet and it’s due tonight.” you groaned at the sudden reminder, making your head hurt.

you lowered your head, already imagining the stress of doing those annoying packets.

you felt beomgyu’s hand in your hair, slowly rubbing your head which caught you off guard.

“let’s stop talking about statistics then, do you wanna dance?” beomgyu offered, looking at you with gentleness. you nodded, maybe you do need a distraction.

“i would love that.” giggles erupted from the both of you after you kept staring at him.

beomgyu grabbed your hand, leading you to a group of people dancing and the music getting louder.

your body instantly grooved to the music. even if you looked silly, you looked silly with that pretty little dress of yours. beomgyu was in front of you dancing which made him let go of his hand on yours.

for a while of constant dancing and grooving, you felt a body behind you. you assumed that it was beomgyu so you didn’t mind. it didn’t feel uncomfortable at all.

you were having fun. you were into it. well too into it.

a hand slithered around your hip, not doing anything. it was just there but it erupted a flame within you. beomgyu or not, you just hope it was a hot guy.

another hand was on your hip. both hands slowly swaying you with the music as you followed along. the guy behind you, came closer. you can smell subtle scent of cotton and musk as you kept dancing close to him. you felt him dancing along with you, keeping you close when his breath was in your ear and your back touching his chest.

you kept giggling like a little girl even though you didn’t drink. you felt like you’re drunk however.

“beomgyu you’re so good at-" you turned around and see the person you never wanted to see in your life.

after that intense song ended, a more chill song came up but it was still hyping the crowd. people started to leave the circle, leaving space between you and jake.

jake’s hand still was placed onto your hips but he didn’t dare to move it. “beomgyu?” he raised an eyebrow at you.

“what are you doing here?” you asked, staring at his eyes. whenever you talked to him, you always stare at his eyes because it was mesmerizing. unfortunately you can’t help due to the reflection of the lights onto his eyes.

your tone wasn’t full of spite but rather annoyed.

“shouldn’t i be asking you that princess?” you can’t believe he still uses that nickname on you. you hate it how it easily slips out his mouth naturally and gives you butterflies.

“i’m having fun.” you don’t know why you’re talking to him. you shouldn’t be talking to him.

“with beomgyu?” jake asked. you noticed a shift in his tone; bitter. you can see his fav features harden.

“mhm happily.” you poked a hole with a small smile, filled with venom. jake snickered, the tip of his tongue touching his lips.

“i’m leaving, you said it’s embarrassing to be with me.” you removed his hands from your hips, walking away to find beomgyu, heck even mark if he’s nearby.

“no,” jake grabbed your wrist, making your body turn to him. “let’s talk.” jake proposed. you gave him a confused stare. talk about what?

“no. i don’t want to talk to you again.” you tried to let go of his grip but he kept holding on, smirking when you seem to be struggling letting go. you knew he was stronger but eh, it was an attempt.

“jake? jake!” jake was dragging you to a nearby room, pushing people that was in his way. you noticed the surprised glances when jake was holding your wrist because of your abrupt breakup. you kept screaming, “let go!” but there was no used because one, jake gets what he wants and two, people are having fun. they could seem to less care and be in anyone’s business.

“are you fucking kidding me!?” you screamed directly at jake’s face when he pulled you into, what seems to be a guest room. jake didn’t listen as he locks the door behind him. “wow okay even the door! might as well jump off of a cliff!” you kept screaming at him because you were annoyed. you can tell he’s gonna ruin your night.

“pretty dress you got on.” his eyes scanned you up and downS “is that how beomgyu decided to talk to you?” jake stood in front of you with having the audacity to cross his arms in front of you. you scoffed at the gesture especially how pissed he sounded. he can’t be the one being pissed.

“awe, did i take your fun away from you?” jake pouted, mocking you for the lack of response.

“i’m sorry baby,” he inched closer to you but you kept glaring at him.

man fuck jake for looking this handsome.

“but, you can more fun with me. i think i’m more fun to be with instead of talking with that nerd.” jake tilted his head to the side with a sly smirk, hands creeping around your hip.

there was a loud smack, making jake speechless as he felt the throbbing of his cheek. he cursed internally at the pain.

you stood there, even surprised with your own action. you couldn’t hear the music from afar anymore, for it was replaced by your loud heart beat.

“how pathetic can you be?” you spoke. you sounded sad yet genuine because two weeks ago jake broke up with you and now it seems that he wants you back?

you keep reminding him that he only got to be with you because of a bet.

you lowered your head, sighing at the deafening silence. you decided to leave, ready to leave the party as well and cry going home.

“y/n-“ you felt jake’s hand on your wrist. you turned around, pointing straight at him.

“don’t fucking touch me!”

jake swore he got goosebumps and cold sweats when you cursed at him. he came frozen when you looked at him dead in the eyes.

jake looked at you and his gaze softened. you had angry tears ready to burst and your cheeks becoming red from vexation. jake can tell you’ve been hurting for days - how you’re trying to be strong and move on but really, you can’t.

jake was genuine in the relationship. everything that he did, was true. he cherishes you and he still loves you.

“i’m tired jake.” he can hear your desperation. “i’m tired of dealing with this. of you.” tears spilled but you didn’t let it phase you. “i don’t know why you’re here when you broke up with me! what else do you want from me? play with me more!? you don’t even love me-”

“i do!”

you felt like the world took a pause on you when you hear the words you didn’t expect to here. you felt your heart dropped at his sudden comment. you thought that you were dreaming.

“w-what?” you stuttered. you saw jake’s eyes softening, his emotion rather showing sincerity.

“fuck y/n i still love you.” jake spoke again. “even after our breakup, i still love you. think of you. care about you. everyday my heart still aches of you even though i initiated the breakup i just still can’t stop thinking of you. i regretted it. ever since i said those words to you.”

jake exhaled, his eyebrows furrowing at his words. he was processing what he just said, hoping you took it seriously.

but you were overwhelmed. you felt dizzy. you wanted to breathe and go anywhere your feet take you but not be in this room with your ex.

you shook your head, whimpering. “you don’t love me jake.” you cried. you didn’t want him to show this side of you. you walked to the door, past jake.

before you even put your hand on the cold door handle, you felt his warmth onto your body. he was hugging you from behind, tightly even burying his head into your neck. you were crying even more when the feeling of him touching you resurfaced. you missed his touch.

“i’m genuinely sorry y/n - i just had issues and i know that’s not an excuse but i wasn’t kidding when i said that i love you.” your back shivered when you hear jake’s deep voice in your ear.

you sniffled, “what issue? how big of an issue to make me hurt like this?” jake’s heart ache when he heard your voice crack while breaking down.

“i’m moving schools. i’m going back to australia.” jake finally said it. “i didn’t want to see you cry because i’m moving- i only acted that way because i’d rather let you hate me and move on quickly than to see you miserable, but i-i couldn’t handle it.” you hear jake sniffle but you were scared. you didn’t know if what he was saying was true but you can tell whether or not jake was telling the truth.

“you’re such a dickhead. why could’ve not you said it sooner?” you opened your palms and cried on them. heck, you don’t even care if people outside hear your sobs that’s not what’s important right now.

“fuck, you’re just moving schools shit i just-“ you hiccuped between your sobs, praying that your waterproof mascara and eyeliner isn’t making you look an ugly mess.

jake stood in front of you, making you feel empty when he stopped hugging you for a hot second. “y/n.” his hands lightly gripped your wrists, wanting to look at you but you persisted.

“y/n look at me.” jake softly said, trying look at you but you kept crying. he saw your lips trembling and tears streaming down your face. “y/n i still love you. everything in our relationship was real. i still want to be with you but i don’t know if you wanted long distance…” he softly whispered to you.

“you bastard!” you suddenly outburst, making jake flinched. you had your hands fly out, smacking him once again. “relationships are supposed to be a mutual thing! you’re so selfish you didn’t even ask me what i thought of it! we agreed that we should share everything to each other and you just didn’t acknowledge me- gosh! care for me my ass!” you kept scolding at jake who nodded along to your words.

“you’re right y/n i’m such a jerk..” he lowered your head, ashamed at himself. you lowered your finger that was pointing at him.

you stood still, pouting at jake. he took a glance at you, “gosh you’re still a crybaby, come here.” he opened his arms. it was tempting to hug him, to be in his arms again.

you miss him deeply. especially with that smile of his. “this bitch..” you muttered before coming straight to him.

jake hugged you tight like a delicate flower, pecking your forehead. it caused you to bury your face more into his chest, tickling him.

“i want you back y/n, please let me be with you.” jake was begging at his point to be with you. you giggled at his desperation as he was playing with your new black hair.

“sorry about your shirt,” you lifted your head, cringing at the stain. “it’s a bit messy-”

before you can continue your sentence, jake decided to kiss you. kiss you like it’s the end of the world. you felt his hands tighten on your waist and you felt out of breath when he was tilting his head to make the kiss deeper.

fuck you miss his lips.

jake misses yours, more than you can think.

jake pulled away, staring at your eyes with affection and love. “i love you.” he leaned closer to you again. you smiled at him, arms wrapping around his neck, massaging his head. “i love you too.” you kissed him back.

you were focused on the kiss, on jake. you didn’t care about anyone else but him, his body pressed on you.

both of your bodies bounced on the bed behind you. both of you giggled in the kiss as jake was craving more.

-

you woke up from your phone alarm. your head was throbbing at the sudden noise from your phone. you shut it off, groaning and stretching in your bed.

no, you and jake didn’t do the deed. rather he offered to take you home in his car. he dropped you off home and even walked you to the door, your parents surprised at the sudden appearance of him and you together.

you got a text message from jake, making your heart jump,

“so my parents told me we aren’t moving anymore…”

[below the cut]

you sat in a comfortable chair, nervously playing with your crossbody bag as you would sometimes glance at your boyfriend who was across from you, eyes laid and focused on the tv screen.

you questioned yourself as to why you’re nervous about telling your boyfriend that you’re going out somewhere.

there’s multiple thoughts occurring inside your little head of yours - do you lie? do you tell the truth? how are you gonna answer when he questions? will he be mad? why would he be mad? does he even know wonbin?

you heard the tv turned off.

“princess?” you shivered at the voice. your thoughts scrambled away once you looked at your boyfriend, kim sunoo. he had his head tilted to the side making his eyebrow piercing flashed in your eyes from the reflection of the sun.

he looked so ethereal that you were hypnotized from his beauty.

“what’s going on with that pretty head of yours? are you going somewhere?” you’ve always adored seeing his smile.

“uhm..” you started it off, eyes lowering to the floor to help you focus forming a sentence. you pursed your lips before looking back at him, nodding. “yeah i’m going out with a friend of mine.. he said he wanted to talk to me about something..”

sunoo’s face hardened when you mentioned a ‘he’ in your sentence. he kept his gentle smile still but his eyebrows quirked up, making him pay more attention to you.

“is that so?” your eyes followed his actions when he crossed his leg over. “mhmm..” sunoo hummed, thinking of something as he laid back into the cushions with his arms crossed. “do i know this person?” you noticed the tension formed in his words. you panicked internally but you played it off cool.

“oh he’s a friend of mine since high school.. you know wonbin? yeah we’re just meeting up.” you smiled to conceal your nervousness. every since your boyfriend dyed his hair dark red, you’re beginning to be more intimidated by him because of how well he looked gorgeous with it.

sunoo nodded after hearing his words yet he felt dissatisfied about you going out. he suddenly patted his lap.

your eyes bolted up at the sudden gesture. you were confused as to why sunoo wants you in his lap. you looked at him and he perked his eyebrows up, indicating to hurry up.

you visibly gulped and stood up from the chair and walked towards sunoo who seems to be staring at your every move.

you awkwardly placed your legs in between sunoo’s lap very slowly as you wanted to make sunoo felt comfort. your heart was racing when your eyes were placed into his chest, clearly buffed out from going to the gym last night. your eyes didn’t know where to go - definitely did want to look at sunoo’s eyes.

sunoo was impatient of how slow you were so he did you a favor. you heard him sigh which cause you be more panicked.

he pressed his arm against your lower waist, forcing you to be more close to him as you instinctively bring your arms to both of his shoulder. you held back a breath as sunoo’s hand laid in your thigh, pressing down so you can comfortably sit down against his lap. it happened all too fast.

“relax.” he whispered and you immediately obeyed, causing him to chuckle deeply and be amused at how quick you followed his words. you looked at his eyebrow piercing, enchanted by the glow before your eyes were going to his collarbone.

“are you mad at me?” you squeaked, looking down at sunoo with an unreadable expression. sunoo’s hand were a little above your hip to keep you still, slowly gripping like possessive.

“no,” he shook his head but you felt like he’s lying and feeling the opposite. “you don’t like him right?”

you gasped and shook your head multiple times at the accusation. “what!? no never,” you relaxed your shoulders, pouting at him. “i only like you.” which made sunoo lightly smirked at your confession.

“really?” sunoo asked, bringing his hand to put a strand of hair behind your ear. his eyes planted onto your wavy hair. you nodded, “really.” however you were nervous.

you noticed the time as you turned your head to the tv cable where the time was displayed, you needed to meet wonbin in ten minutes yet you’re still home.

“babe,” you started. “i really need to go, i’ll be back before you know it and i’ll text you if anything.” you were urging sunoo as you raised your hips to leave his lap but he nudged, keeping you still and making his grip onto your body only stronger.

you gulped once again. his expression suddenly dropped into a glare. “what’s wrong?” you questioned, your boyfriend’s grip loosening when you sat back to his lap. you were worried, did you say something wrong?

sunoo hummed, only causing you to be more nervous as you flinched at his cold fingers swirling against your warm skin. his fingers locked in your neck and was creeping on your cheeks. he continued humming while staring at your face features. you eyed his every move. you can’t read him greatly and it frustrates you.

“you don’t think i know?” sunoo’s eyes looked up at yours and you swore you almost got a heart attack with that bitter look of his. “you don’t think i know what wonbin has been telling you?” you felt your heart physically dropped to your stomach as you lightly gasped at his comment.

“you don’t think i know the conversations you and wonbin had in the past days? how he tells you how manipulative i am to you? in our bedroom?” sunoo’s lips curved into a smile. you only gave silence, thoughts rushing to figure out what to say.

“you don’t think i’m manipulative, do you princess?” your heart still flutters at that nickname he gives you. “n-no..” you whispered because you were unsure. wonbin told you that he noticed how sunoo acts around you but you can’t never tell because

you love him.

“i do those things to protect you. i’m being like this towards you only because i worship you.” you shivered at those words. you can’t speak at all at the tone of his voice; admiration and affection.

“what did wonbin tell you?” his finger tapped your cheek.

“he told me how manipulative you are .. that our relationship isn’t love…” you kept glancing up and down to read sunoo’s expression in uneasiness. your volume was low, intimidated to speak to your boyfriend.

sunoo slightly scoffed. “what nonsense. he doesn’t know about our relationship. what love bullshit is he on? he’s a lonely bastard.” he glanced back at you after rolling his eyes. you were nibbling on your bottom lip, restlessly sweating at how he will respond.

“do you think i’m manipulating you baby?” sunoo’s eyes dilated while his hand rested on your thigh and hip. you gulped whether or not to speak about the conversation wonbin told you.

“i’m saying y/n, sunoo doesn’t love you! that’s not real love.” wonbin yelled at his phone, trying to make you comprehend his interpretation of your relationship with sunoo.

you had your phone on speaker.

“then..” you trailed off with your body spread like a starfish on the bed. “what’s true love?”

you heard your friend sighed in his phone. “love is not controlling nor possessive. love is not controlling who you’re meeting with people or befriending with people. love is not jealously-“

“sunoo is not a jealous person-“

“there you go defending him!” your lips pouted at your friend’s shouting. you aren’t defending him, you’re only telling the truth. you believe what you believe.

“you know what y/n, let’s meet up tomorrow at the cafe in front of our middle school at 2pm hm?” wonbin suggested which made you worried about telling this to your boyfriend. you agree that sunoo is quite possessive but he replied saying that he loves you and cares about your well being. that’s why he suggested to tell him that every time you go out, you notify him and what you’re gonna do.

“ok!” you confidently replied, keeping up a smile as wonbin hummed before ending the call.

you didn’t know that sunoo was behind the door, listening to every detail of your conversation with wonbin. he crossed his arms as his eyes darkened, leaving to go to the kitchen to prepare dinner.

“no..” you didn’t sound confident and sunoo can tell. he pressed his lips together, making a sound of dissatisfaction.

“darling,” his lips spread to create a bigger grin. “you know how much i love you, right?” he caresses your cheek so gently and delicate that it only made you lean closer to his touch. “right?” his tone became firm and his face started to look cold from the lack of response.

you only nodded. then his face features relaxed, going back to his smirk.

“even if you break up with me, no one can love you better than me.” sunoo’s eyes showed a hint of venom in them before you were mesmerized in the sea of his beautiful eyes. his eyebrow raised when he spoke those words to you before relaxing them and witnessing your expression becoming sad.

bingo.

“i feel hurt knowing you’re backstabbing me.” you looked down, ashamed at yourself for believing that sunoo is a bad person. sunoo kept his face blank, seeing you fall down and crumbled.

“i’m sorry..” you teared up, feeling embarrassed at your own self. “i’m so pathetic i didn’t mean to backstab you..” you looked at sunoo who nodded along with your words. his hands played with the ends of your hair.

“don’t do it again y/n.” you nodded relentlessly to his words, wiping your tears away along with sniffling.

“you love me right y/n?” the way he just says your name - the way it falls easily from his lips made you feel like you’re on cloud 9. no one has put so much emotion in your own name, not even your friends nor your family. sunoo just says it perfectly like a melody.

“yes sunoo i do- i really love you.” you stutter upon your words. “i only love you.”

sunoo smiled in satisfaction. “then don’t go.” he said next. “don’t go and be manipulated by wonbin’s words. i only love you.” his cheekbones got higher every time his lips curved higher.

sunoo’s hands started to shake lower towards your hip bone, slowly rubbing them to relax yourself.

sunoo only exhaled, an idea that came to his head. to plan out how to get rid of wonbin in your life. for good. “i won’t let anyone come in between us.”

your phone started to ring inside your purse. sunoo’s thoughts were disrupted by the ringtone, his eyes immediately shooting towards your bag.

you slowly opened your purse, heart pulsating when you see the contact name, wonbin. your hand grabbed it, bringing it closer to you.

“don’t answer it. if you love me, then don’t answer it. don’t fall for his tricks, he’s just jealous of us.” sunoo’s voice ringed in your head. you nodded, only pressing the denied button and turning your phone to do not disturb mode on so wonbin doesn’t call back.

sunoo smiled at your actions, “good girl. i’m so proud of you.” he swirled the ends of your hair with his slim fingers.

“let’s take a nap together hm? we can forget about this later.” sunoo gently requested, his fingers touching your chin to make you look at him directly in the eye.

“please..” you really wanted to forget this discussion with sunoo because of your guiltiness. you will never have a thought of making your boyfriend be the bad guy - you feel so mortified for thinking this way.

sunoo pecked your cheek, making you turn back into reality. “alright, let’s go.” sunoo grabbed your phone from your grasp and put it in his pocket while keeping a smile, a distracting one.

you leaned more into your boyfriend’s touch, your head laying on his chest as sunoo strongly gripped your thighs. he immediately carried your body as if you were a feather; light. your arms wrapped around his neck and you started to feel a bit sleepy from your boyfriend’s humming.

he set you down gradually and softly on the cushions of your bed. you felt sunoo’s plush and soft lips onto your forehead, kissing you goodnight as you felt his body right next to yours.

sunoo’s hands wrapped around your waist, pulling you closer to him as you were able to smell his signature scent on his chest and neck. “i love you my princess.” he whispered as his lips pressed to your cheeks.

you whispered back, feeling butterflies in your stomach, “i love you for eternity.” those were the last words before falling into dreamland with sunoo’s body close to yours.

thank you for reading!<3

ALLODOXAPHOBIAal-lo-dox-a-pho-bi-ais The Fear Of Opinions. This Phobia Can Manifest As A Fear Of Being

A month had passed. Exactly a month since that one unfortunate night when their relationship ended. Since then, she had finally allowed herself to feel and breathe freely. She permitted herself to identify the sadness, the anger, the disgust, and the deep emptiness within her. Yet, she also granted herself healing and the assurance of her own presence and peace of mind. She made the decision to avoid any interactions with him at all costs, just to let herself breathe.

I set myself free in my own time now I'm all alone I really don't mind

At some point, she found herself in the stands of the basketball hall, there to show her support for Jungwon - her best friend of six years — who was ready to have a match with his team against the opposing school. As she sat there, she overheard some girls sitting in front of her gossiping about her and Sunghoon's past relationship.

Apparently, every time Sunghoon is asked about the reason for their breakup, he either shrugs it off by telling others that they didn't share the same trajectory or, if he's constantly pressed about it, he says they broke up because of a lack of time due to their tight schedules and exams. What a lie.

but would you leave it out when you tell everyone about us so much went so wrong between me and you

Trying to ignore the recently received information, she cheered silently for her best friend throughout the whole match, yet she was not able to shrug off the memories of her breakup with Sunghoon. Sunghoon has always been a man of pride, whether it was his grades, his looks, or his family's wealth. He always had everything he wanted. Yet, the only thing he did not have was a significant other. While all his friends were bragging about their relationships, Sunghoon could not help but feel pressured and down. So he decided to date her.

They met in a shared chemistry class, where Sunghoon desperately looked for a girl he could pick to be his girlfriend. He flashed his beautiful smile at her and arranged to meet up frequently, whether it was for their studies, the music they shared, or simply each other's presence. At first, he thought the feelings would come after a while, but they didn't, and he did not want to deal with that issue any further. He chose to ignore the tenderness and kept on feeding the facade of being in love.

After a while of dating, Sunghoon's constant way of vaunting about his girlfriend to his friends became very stressful and bothersome to her. She could not stand the pressure of always being the center of attention around his friends. She elected to calmly confront her boyfriend about the struggle she had been hiding deep down, which resulted in a heated argument. Sunghoon revealed his real intentions about their relationship, explaining how he just wanted to boost his self-esteem, to feel less left out, less pressured, and not embarrassed around his friends for not having a girlfriend.

She could not believe nor process the words that spilled from his mouth, so she just stared at him in disbelief. Sunghoon, not able to stand her silence, told her how much he cherished her just as a trophy to show around his friends, without having any strings attached. Soon after, she made the decision to end their relationship. Unable to look at his face anymore, she spared no time and stormed out of his college room to go to her own. Tears threatened to spill out, yet she did not cry. She did not want to cry. Arriving in her own room, she blocked his number and decided to go to sleep, just to ignore her own salty eyes.

now that it's done you can tell all your friends

After the match ended with a win for her school's team, everyone cheered loudly while she just smiled proudly at her best friend. The basketball players approached the stands, and in the crowd of the team, she noticed a familiar face—not her best friend's, but her ex-boyfriend's—Sunghoon. Sunghoon, running ahead of himself towards the stands, smiled brightly and hugged a tall and slim female figure, then a moment later, kissed her passionately. Seeing this, she looked quite shocked and felt a little bit hurt, but she hoped he treated that girl differently than he had treated her.

without me around you can take turns with everyone

Some time passed. Just as she was about to exit the toilet stall, she heard a girl running and crying into the stall next to hers, disrupting her peace. She decided to stay quiet, not wanting to startle the girl. Accidentally, she overheard the girl talking to someone on the phone. Through tears, the girl explaines how much she loved a boy and how hurt she felt after an argument a few minutes ago over a minor inconvenience. The girl continued, describing how the boy had said hurtful things to her, claiming he did not love her and that she was useless, only seen as another trophy by him. Hearing this, she froze on the spot, her own breakup suddenly flooding back to her.

She exited the stall in a hurry and walked anxiously through the school hall, her thoughts racing freely in her mind. She couldn't believe that the boy she once loved and cherished had turned into such a heartless pride machine. She could not believe that Sunghoon continued to break the hearts of innocent girls just to feed his own ego and impress his friends.

even now as I'm on my own it wears me down and I've lost control

Arriving at her dorm room, she lied in her bed and chuckled at her own hope of Sunghoon changing. Soon after, the chuckles turned into wholehearted laughter as she reminisced about the lies Sunghoon told his friends about their past relationship and their reasons for breaking up.

after all we've been through would you tell everyone leaving out how you made me feel and what went wrong

Right after, the laughter turned into single droplets of tears, which trickled down her cheeks as she realized how insecure Sunghoon must feel — unable to tell the truth and live authentically, wearing a mask while breaking hearts. She felt sorry for him, though she shouldn't have; after all, he had broken her heart. Yet here she was, and the world did not end.

now that it's done you can tell all your friends

At the end, their priorities diverged: she would prioritize her future significant other, while he would always prioritize his pride and his FRIENDS.

without me around you can take turns with everyone you can tell all your friends you can tell all your friends

Echoes Of Devotion

The university campus buzzed with the lively chatter of students, a symphony of voices blending into the backdrop of rustling leaves and distant traffic. The summer break had been anything but enjoyable for her. Having to move out once again was tiring, yet she knew it was for the good. For her own good.

She navigated the crowd with practiced ease, her gaze flitting from face to face, searching for something—or rather, someone.

It happened in an instant. Amid the sea of faces, she saw him. He stood by the fountain, laughing with a group of friends. His smile was bright, his eyes crinkling at the corners, radiating a warmth that seemed to draw everyone in. Hearing his name from one of his friends' lips nearly made her catch her breath in her throat. "Park Sunghoon!" She knew her old habits would resurface sooner rather than later, but she didn't expect them to be this soon.

There was something magnetic about him, something that set her pulse racing. She had seen many attractive people before, but he was different. His very presence seemed to light up the space around him, making everyone else fade into the background.

She felt a jolt of excitement, a spark of something dark and powerful. This was the feeling she had hoped to bury when moving out. But deep down, she had been waiting for it. The certainty that he was the one. He's next.

A smile curled at the corners of her lips, subtle yet sinister. She watched him intently, her mind already weaving plans and strategies. His every movement, every laugh, every interaction was like a thread she could pull, unraveling the life he knew and reweaving it around her.

He seemed perfect—friendly, trusting, and utterly oblivious to the danger that had just marked him. She could already see how easy it would be to insert herself into his world, to become indispensable to him, to isolate him from anyone who might come between them.

As the bell rang, signaling the start of class, she didn’t move. She continued to watch him, her smile growing more pronounced, her eyes narrowing with determination. This was no ordinary attraction; this was an obsession being born, a single-minded focus that would drive her every action. And she knew that.

She would have him. Completely. Utterly. And no one, absolutely no one, would stand in her way.

Echoes Of Devotion

It started innocently, with subtle glances during the breaks and passing encounters in the university hallways. She never made herself present to him, not yet at least. Old habits die hard, however; she still managed to get to know his entire schedule—from morning lessons and subtle meetings with his friends at the nearby café, to those football matches that always began at 5:30 p.m. Some might think she had gone completely mad, but little did they know she had been like this since 9th grade.

After some time, she started to get bolder. Maintaining short eye contact, leaving cheesy love letters with his favorite tiramisu-flavored chocolate in his locker. She wanted to keep it normal. She tried to tell herself that this was who she really was. She wasn't the psycho she was back then. She was different now. Yet, in her heart, she knew she couldn’t be normal, even if she wanted to. Even if she tried.

She saw his reaction every single time. The first time he looked surprised as he saw a love letter in his locker. He kept it. It gave her a little bit of hope that she didn't have to revert to her old, scary habits. She even wrote her number there, hoping he would reach out, purposely avoiding mentioning her name. Unfortunately, by the end of the day, he did not.

She persevered. She kept writing those goddamn love letters and buying that goddamn tiramisu-flavored chocolate. Letter after letter. Every time the same reaction, but the annoyance in his face growing with each of them.

When the number of written letters reached fifty, she decided to confront him. She found him in the library, secluded in a corner with a stack of books. Heart pounding, she approached, her footsteps silent on the carpeted floor. “Sunghoon,” she said softly, yet firmly. He looked up, startled. “Why haven’t you responded to my letters?” Tilting her head slightly, boring her dead eyes into him with a slight glimpse of hurt. She wasn't smiling. She was dead serious. She wanted to know why he hadn't reached out, why he ignored her, why he rejected her.

"Oh, you wrote those letters?" Sunghoon shifted uncomfortably in his seat, clearly caught off guard. He closed the book he was reading and looked up at her with a gentle, apologetic smile. “I’m really sorry,” he began, choosing his words carefully. “I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings by not responding.” He sighed, running a hand through his hair. “The truth is, I’m not really interested in having a love life right now. I’ve been trying to focus on my studies and my future. There’s just so much going on, and I don’t think I can give anyone the attention they deserve.”

Seeing the slight tremor in her expression, he quickly added, “But I really appreciate the effort you’ve put into the letters. And the tiramisu chocolates were amazing—they’re my favorite, and it was very thoughtful of you.”

Her heart sank at his words, but she masked her disappointment with a tight, controlled smile. "I see," she said, her voice steady but laced with a barely perceptible edge. "You want to focus on your studies. That's understandable." She took a small step back, smiling forcefully. "I'm glad you liked the tiramisu chocolates, though," she added, her tone softening just a bit. "It’s nice to know at least something I did made you happy." A shadow flickered in her eyes, but she quickly blinked it away, maintaining her composed demeanor. "I suppose I'll stop bothering you with my letters, then," she continued, the words sharp despite her calm delivery. "Good luck with your studies, Sunghoon."

Without waiting for a response, she turned on her heel and walked away, her back straight, leaving Sunghoon with a sense of unease. As she exited the library, that forced smile dropped, and her mind raced with new strategies, the sting of rejection only fueling her determination further.

Echoes Of Devotion

Walking home from the library in a daze, Sunghoon's words replayed in her mind. "I'm sorry, but I'm just not interested. I need to focus on my studies right now." The rejection cut through her like a knife, every word a fresh wound. Her heart pounded in her chest, a mix of rage and despair building with each step she took.

As she reached her apartment, the door barely closed behind her before the dam broke. She collapsed onto the floor, her body wracked with sobs. The tears came fast and hard, streaming down her face as she clutched her chest, gasping for breath.

"Why? Why doesn’t he see?" she choked out between sobs. "I'm the only one who truly loves him. I'm the only one who understands him."

Her cries echoed through the empty house, a haunting symphony of pain and madness. She staggered to her feet, stumbling towards the bathroom. In the mirror, her tear-streaked face stared back at her, eyes wide with a wild, unhinged gleam. She laughed, a high-pitched, manic sound that contrasted sharply with her sobs. The laughter grew louder, more hysterical, mingling with her tears until it was impossible to tell where one ended and the other began.

She grabbed the edges of the sink, her knuckles white as she leaned forward, her reflection distorting in the mirror. "Focusing on the future, my ass," she muttered to herself, the laughter dying in her throat. "The only future that he has is me. He just doesn’t understand yet."

Her mind raced, a whirlwind of chaotic thoughts and dark plans. The rejection had shattered something inside her, leaving a void that only her obsessive love could fill. She stumbled back into the living room, knocking over a lamp as she went. The crash barely registered as she fell to her knees, clutching her head, the pain of rejection fueling her madness.

Her breathing slowed, and a cold, calculating calm settled over her. "I’ll make him see," she whispered, her voice low and steady. "I’ll make him understand that he belongs with me. And if anyone tries to get in my way…"

Her eyes hardened, the wild gleam replaced by a steely determination. She knew what she had to do. The madness was no longer a burden but a driving force, propelling her towards her goal. She wiped her tears away, a twisted smile curling together with a chuckle on her lips.

"Sunghoon will be mine," she vowed, her voice filled with a chilling certainty. "No matter what it takes."

Echoes Of Devotion

The sun was just beginning to set, casting a warm golden glow over the university campus. Her heart racing with anticipation, she clutched her books tightly as she made her way to the student lounge. Today was the day she would get to know Sunghoon’s friends better. She had spent weeks observing them from a distance, learning their names, their habits, and their schedules and, most importantly, their secrets.

Heeseung's mental health was at its lowest due to his parents' divorce and his unrequited love for one of the most popular students. Jay's family financial struggles and his hidden talent were secrets she had uncovered. Wonyoung was under immense pressure from her parents, yet she kept up her best girl facade while hiding her chronic illness. She knew it all. And she certainly knew how to put that knowledge to use. It was all part of her meticulous plan to get closer to Sunghoon.

As she entered the bustling lounge, she scanned the room until her eyes landed on the familiar group gathered around a table near the window. Sunghoon sat at the center, laughing at something one of his friends had said. She took a deep breath, putting on her most charming smile, and approached the group with a casual confidence.

“Hey, do you mind if I join you?” she asked, her voice sweet and friendly. The group looked up, slightly surprised by the unexpected visitor. Sunghoon, being surprised to see her, smiled warmly, yet still had their conversation from the library in mind.

“Sure, have a seat,” he said, gesturing to an empty chair. She slid into the seat, her heart fluttering as she found herself sitting next to Sunghoon. His friends, a mix of curious and welcoming faces, introduced themselves one by one.

“I’ve seen you around,” said Heeseung, a tall guy with a friendly grin. “You’re in our literature class, right?”

She nodded, her smile never faltering. “Yeah, I’ve been meaning to get to know everyone better. It’s nice to finally put names to faces.”

As the conversation flowed, she skillfully engaged each of Sunghoon’s friends, asking questions and showing genuine interest in their lives. She laughed at their jokes, shared her own stories, and slowly but surely, integrated herself into the group. Every now and then, she would steal glances at Sunghoon, noting how relaxed and happy he seemed with his friends.

“I love your nails, by the way. The color really suits you,” said Wonyoung, the girl who often partnered with Sunghoon in projects. “I'd love to do them for you one day.”

Her eyes lit up at the suggestion, a flicker of arousal flaring within her. “I’d love that. Maybe we could hang out at my place someday, who knows?”

The girl seemed to warm to her recommendation, discussing potential plans for a weekend nail session. She nodded along, her mind already calculating how she could use these moments to deepen her bond with Sunghoon and subtly influence the group dynamics.

As the evening wore on, she felt a sense of triumph. She had successfully ingratiated herself into Sunghoon’s social circle, her plan unfolding perfectly. By the time they all said their goodbyes, she felt a new sense of belonging and a step closer to her ultimate goal.

Walking back to her house, she couldn’t help but smile. Getting to know Sunghoon’s friends was just the beginning. Soon, Sunghoon would see that she was the perfect addition to his life, the one who truly understood him. And no one, absolutely no one, would stand in her way.

Echoes Of Devotion

As the weekend arrived, Wonyoung was already at her door, all ready and excited for the planned nail session. Before she could even ring the bell, the door suddenly swung open, revealing the owner of the house.

"Oh, hi. Please, come in." She felt as if the excitement was ready to explode within her, yet she was not letting her facade slip.

As they entered the meticulously decorated living room, her smile never faltered, masking her true intentions. “Make yourself comfortable,” she said warmly, gesturing to a plush armchair. Wonyoung sat down, glancing around at the tasteful décor. “I’ve been working on a new hobby,” she continued, pulling out a sleek, black box. “Let me show you my collection.”

She opened the box, revealing an array of perfectly painted nails, displayed like trophies. The girl admired them at first, her eyes widening in admiration. “Wow, these are amazing! You’re really talented,” she said, completely unaware of the truth. She smiled, a hint of something sinister lurking behind her eyes. “Oh, thank you! Those are some of my favorites.”

Wonyoung continued to admire the collection, completely unaware of the dark truth behind them. “How do you get them to look so real?” “Well,” she began, her voice taking on a playful, almost teasing tone. “That’s because they are real.” Wonyoung laughed, thinking it was a joke. “You’re so funny!”

But her smile only widened. She reached for a small, ornate box on the shelf and opened it, revealing an assortment of perfectly preserved nails. “No, seriously. These are real ” Wonyoung’s laughter faltered as she looked more closely at the nails. “Wait, what?”

Picking up one of the nails, she held it delicately between her fingers. “These nails used to belong to some very… unfortunate girls. Girls who thought they could get too close to someone very dear to me.”

Wonyoung’s eyes widened in horror as the realization sank in. She took a step back, her mind racing. “You’re joking, right? This is some kind of sick joke.”

Shaking her head slowly, her smile never wavering. “Oh, Wonyoung, I’m very serious. You see, I take my collection quite seriously. And I’m always looking to add more… unique pieces.” She placed the nail back in the box and closed it with a snap, the sound echoing ominously in the room. Wonyoung’s hands trembled as she tried to process what she had just heard.

“But don’t you worry,” she continued, her tone now sickeningly sweet. “As long as you stay out of Sunghoon’s business, you’ll have nothing to fear.” Wonyoung nodded frantically, her face pale. “Y-yeah, of course. I-I won’t say anything.”

“Good,” she said, her smile returning to a more innocent facade. “Now, how about we paint your nails? I promise it’ll be fun.” As Wonyoung sat down, trying to steady her shaking hands, she selected a bright, cheerful color from her collection. The juxtaposition of the lighthearted activity and the dark secret hanging over them created a chilling tension in the room.

Her blood ran cold, and she tried to stand up, but her grip was suddenly iron-strong. “You're here because you're Sunghoon's friend,” she said, her voice eerily calm. “And that’s a problem.” Before the girl could react, she produced a pair of nail clippers, her smile never wavering. She held Wonyoung’s hand firmly, isolating her pointing finger. The girl struggled, but the grip was unyielding, the other hand trying to escape from her strong hold.

The sharp snip of the clippers echoed in the room, followed by the girl’s muffled cry. She carefully placed the newly clipped nail into her box, closing it again with a satisfied click. She released the girl, who bolted from the chair, clutching her bleeding finger.

“Remember this next time you think about talking to him, or you'll sniff the daisies from underneath sooner than you would have thought,” she said softly, watching with cold satisfaction as the girl fled in terror.

She could not pinpoint how she happened to be currently in her own kitchen. At 2:18 a.m. Her mind was a whirlwind of dark thoughts as she stood in the dim light, the only sound being the gentle hum of the refrigerator. Meticulously mixing the batter, her thoughts singularly focused on Minji, the girl who dared to call Sunghoon 'Hoonie' with such familiarity. It was a nickname that should only be hers to use, and the thought of Minji’s casual affection made her blood boil. Her movements were precise, almost methodical. As she measured out the ingredients, each step bringing her closer to her goal.

She reached into her pocket and pulled out a small vial of poison, its contents undetectable and deadly. With a practiced hand, she added a few drops into the batter, ensuring it blended seamlessly. The poison would be subtle, taking hours to take effect, giving no hint of its presence until it was too late.

The next day, during their study group, she brought a tray of freshly baked cupcakes, their sweet aroma filling the room. With a practiced smile, she approached the girl. “I baked these last night,” she said, her voice dripping with false warmth. “I know how much you love sweets, so I saved the best one just for you.”

Minji’s eyes lit up, grateful and unsuspecting. “Thank you! That’s so sweet of you,” she replied, taking the cupcake eagerly. She bit into it without a second thought, savoring the taste. Watching, her smile never wavering, as Minji enjoyed the treat. The study group continued as usual, with everyone focusing on their assignments and discussing their topics. Hours passed, and as the session came to an end, Minji began to feel the first signs of the poison taking effect. She winced, her hand clutching her stomach, but brushed it off as a mere stomachache.

Later that night, as Minji lay in bed, the pain intensified. The subtle poison worked its way through her system, causing excruciating pain. She gasped for breath, her body wracked with agony. Within hours, the poison claimed its victim, leaving Minji lifeless and cold. The lethal gift did its work.

The next day, news of Minji’s sudden and tragic death spread through the campus like wildfire. She could hear the whispers and saw the shocked faces of her peers. She wore a mask of concern, her eyes wide with faux sympathy. Inside, however, she felt a twisted sense of satisfaction, a smirk threatening to break through her facade.

“That’s terrible,” she said to a classmate, her voice laced with carefully crafted sorrow. “I can’t believe something like this happened.”

As the conversations around her continued, she maintained her act, but deep inside, she reveled in her success. Minji was no longer a threat.

She had been shadowing Sunghoon and his friends for weeks, blending into their group with ease. Today, she sat at their usual table in the bustling cafeteria, watching as Sunghoon chatted with Heeseung, Jay, and Wonyoung. Her heart pounded when a new figure approached the table: Joon, a charismatic student known for throwing the best parties.

“Hey, Sunghoon!” Joon called out, his voice brimming with excitement. “I’m throwing a party after the exams. You should totally come. It’s gonna be epic!”

Sunghoon looked up, a hint of hesitation in his eyes. “I don’t know, Joon. I’ve got a lot of studying to do even afterwards.”

Joon waved his hand dismissively while winking in Wonyoung's direction. “Come on, man! You can’t study all the time. It’ll be good to unwind. Plus, everyone’s going to be there.”

Clenching her jaw, her mind racing. This party was a threat, a potential distraction that could pull Sunghoon further away from her. Forcing a smile, she interjected, “A party sounds fun, but don’t you think it’s important to stay focused on your studies, Sunghoon?”

Joon laughed. “Lighten up! It’s just one night.”

Sunghoon finally nodded, though reluctantly. “Alright, I’ll try to make it.”

Her smile faltered, but she quickly recovered. There was no way of letting this new social connection ruin her plans.

She had been watching Joon for days, observing his every move. He who dared to invite Sunghoon to a party was an unequivocal threat to widen his social circle and pull him further away from her. Over several days, she slipped threatening notes and disturbing, gory images into his locker. Each message was more terrifying than the last, escalating his fear and paranoia.

“Stay away from Sunghoon, or you’ll regret it,” one note read, accompanied by a photo of a mutilated teddy bear.

His once confident demeanor crumbled. Dark circles formed under his eyes as he lost sleep. His grades slipped, the terror consuming his thoughts. She watched with satisfaction as he became a shadow of his former self.

One night, as he walked home from another party, his steps were slow and weary. She followed silently, her movements careful and calculated. The streets were empty, the only sounds were the distant hum of traffic and the occasional rustle of leaves. She stayed in the shadows, her eyes fixed on her prey.

When he turned into a dark alley, she made her move. In one swift motion, she wrapped a garrote wire around his throat, pulling it tight. His eyes bulged in shock, his hands clawing at the wire, trying to scream but only managing a strangled gasp. The struggle was brief and silent, the wire cutting deep and fast, severing his cries and his life.

His lifeless body dropped to the ground, a pool of blood forming beneath him. She stood over him for a moment, watching the life fade from his eyes. The thrill of control and power coursed through her veins, a dark satisfaction settling in her chest. She wiped the wire clean and slipped it back into her pocket, leaving the scene as silently as she had arrived, smiling proudly.

The next day, the campus buzzed with the news of the boy’s tragic and mysterious death. She mingled once again with the concerned and the curious, her face a mask of shock and sadness.

Inside, she felt a twisted sense of triumph. One less distraction for Sunghoon, one step closer to securing him for herself.

She had always been meticulous in her surveillance of Sunghoon. Her obsession with him had led her to follow him discreetly, ensuring she was never far from his side. One evening, she decided to trail him after he left the university, curious about his destination.

As she followed him through the bustling streets, her heart pounded with a mix of excitement and anxiety. Sunghoon turned into a small cinema, a place she hadn’t expected. She bought a ticket and followed him inside, maintaining a safe distance. Her eyes widened in shock and fury when she saw him with a girl from another university, their hands intertwined. They were laughing and seemed entirely engrossed in each other.

Her mind raced with thoughts of betrayal and rage. Who was this girl? How dare she come between her and Sunghoon? She gritted her teeth, her hands clenching into fists. As they left the cinema, she snapped a few photos of them together, her mind already forming a plan to eliminate this new threat.

The basement was cold and dimly lit, every corner meticulously organized to ensure no sound escaped. There she stood in the center, a chilling smile playing on her lips as she looked at the bound and gagged girl in front of her. Sunghoon’s alleged girlfriend, now nothing more than a terrified captive, was tied to a heavy wooden chair, her eyes wide with fear.

“I warned you,” she began, her voice soft and deceptively kind. “I warned you to stay away from Sunghoon.” She picked up a pair of pliers from the metal tray beside her, the dim lightglinting off the sharp metal. "But apparently, threatening letters and dead rats at your door do not bother you."

The girl’s sobs grew louder, her pleas muffled by the gag. The girl struggled futilely against her bonds as she approached, pliers in hand. “Sadly, you didn’t listen,” she continued, a hint of mockery in her tone. “Now, you’re going to pay the price.”

With brutal efficiency, she gripped the girl’s jaw, forcing her mouth open. The girl’s screams were stifled by the gag, her eyes rolling back in agony as the first tooth was ripped out. Blood poured from her mouth, splattering onto the floor. One by one, the teeth were extracted, each accompanied by a fresh wave of pain and muffled screams. She hummed a cheerful tune as she worked, placing each bloodied tooth carefully into a small jar. When she was done, she stepped back, admiring her handiwork. The girl’s mouth was a bloody ruin, her sobs now reduced to weak, incoherent moans.

“Look at you,” she said, holding up the jar of teeth. “Such a pretty collection. I think I’ll make something special out of these. Maybe a ring? Or a necklace? Sunghoon always had a taste in unique jewelry.” She set the jar aside and leaned in close, her face inches from the girl’s. “You should’ve stayed out of Sunghoon’s business,” she hissed. “You should’ve known better than to try and take him from me.”

The girl’s eyes were filled with a mix of terror and confusion, her pleas unintelligible. Only laughing, a cold, mirthless sound. “Help me! Help me! No one can hear you,” she mocked. “No one is coming to save you.”

Growing tired of the girl’s incomprehensible cries, she grabbed a large butcher knife from the tray. With one swift motion, she severed the girl’s hand at the wrist. Blood gushed from the wound, and the girl’s screams reached a new, agonizing pitch. “Gosh, stop whining like a bitch and take it!” she snapped, covering her ears. The girl’s continued screams grated on her nerves, driving her to the edge of her patience. Finally, in a fit of frustration, she slashed the girl’s throat. The screams stopped abruptly, replaced by a gurgling sound as blood poured from the fatal wound.

She stood back, watching the life drain from the girl’s eyes. Once she was certain the girl was dead, she set to work with a grim determination. The body was dragged to a large vat of acid she had prepared earlier. She pushed the body into the vat, watching as the flesh began to dissolve, the room filling with the acrid smell of burning skin.

While the acid did its work, she carefully cleaned and dried the severed hands, removing every trace of blood. She placed them in a transparent box, admiring the grotesque display. As she closed the lid on the box, she couldn’t help but smile. Everything was falling into place. Sunghoon would be hers, and no one would stand in her way.

Ascending the basement stairs, her steps slow and methodical. She had cleaned up everything meticulously, ensuring no trace of her gruesome act remained—except for the vat of acid, its contents now dissolving away any evidence. As she emerged from the basement, a wave of nausea suddenly overwhelmed her.

Staggering towards the bathroom, she could feel the bile rising in her throat. She barely made it to the sink before she began to vomit, her body convulsing with each heave. The acidic taste of bile burned her throat, tears streaming down her face as she purged the contents of her stomach.

When the retching finally subsided, she wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, her breathing ragged. She glanced up at the mirror above the sink, her reflection barely recognizable behind her disheveled bangs. Her eyes, wide and wild, stared back at her. Slowly, a hysterical laugh bubbled up from within her, mingling with her tears.

Her laugh grew louder, more unhinged, as she gazed at her reflection. Tears of anguish and frustration streamed down her cheeks, but she couldn’t stop laughing. The sound echoed off the bathroom walls, a chilling mix of mirth and madness.

Without warning, she drew back her fist and smashed it into the mirror. The glass shattered, shards flying in all directions, some embedding in her knuckles. Blood mingled with the tears on her face as she stood there, panting and trembling.

The remnants of the mirror reflected her fractured image. She stared at the jagged pieces for a moment, her breathing shallow and erratic. Then, her legs gave out, and she collapsed onto the bathroom floor, her body racked with sobs.

She lay there, the cold tiles pressing against her skin, her mind a chaotic storm of emotions. The reality of her actions crashed over her, the weight of her obsession and the depths of her madness suffocating her. But even in her despair, a dark satisfaction lingered. Sunghoon was one step closer to being hers, and no one else would ever come between them again.

Lying on the floor, her vision began to blur. She closed her eyes, tears still streaming down her face. Slowly, she began to mouth the lyrics of one of her favorite songs. Her voice was barely a whisper, but the words held a twisted kind of comfort for her.

"This may become a little brutal if I'm honest," she mouthed, her lips forming the words with deliberate care. Her voice was shaky, filled with both desperation and determination. "But it's any- anything for you my dear, I promise."

The words echoed in her mind, a haunting lullaby that mirrored her descent into madness. As the last line left her lips, her strength gave out completely. Her consciousness slipped away, leaving her lying on the cold bathroom floor, surrounded by broken glass and blood.

The house was silent except for the faint hum of distant traffic. In the dim light, her body lay still, a testament to the lengths she would go for her obsession. The darkness enveloped her, a temporary reprieve from the chaos within.

Echoes Of Devotion

The night was thick with foreboding as Wonyoung finally gathered the courage to approach Sunghoon, her voice trembling with the weight of the secrets she carried. They were alone in a secluded corner of the campus, the moon casting a pale light over the deserted grounds.

“Sunghoon, we need to talk. You have to know the truth,” Wonyoung said, her eyes wide with urgency. Sunghoon looked at her, concern etched across his face. "What's wrong, Wonyoung?" "It's about her. The new strange girl," Wonyoung began, her eyes darting around as if she feared being overheard. "I went to her house. She invited me to paint my nails, but… Sunghoon, she showed me her collection of painted nails. They were real, from girls she saw as a threat. Her house is full of evidence. She's dangerous!"

Sunghoon stared at her, his face a canvas of shock and disbelief. “Wonyoung, what are you saying? Are you sure?”

“Yes, I’m sure,” Wonyoung replied, her voice cracking. “She did this. She ripped off my nail." Saying that, the girl shows Sunghoon her bandaged pointer finger. Tears filling her eyes. "I barely got away. I think she's the one behind all the murders. You have to believe me. Please.”

Lurking nearby, she overheard every single word. "I couldn't help but overhear," she continued, her voice dangerously soft. "You seem to have some serious accusations against me, Wony~."

Sunghoon and Wonyoung turned to face her, both startled.

A sinister smile curled on her lips as she stepped into the light, her presence as chilling as the night itself. “It’s funny,” she said, her voice smooth as silk, “hearing you two talk like this. I had no idea you were so concerned about my little secrets.”

Wonyoung's face turned white. "Stay away from us."

Her eyes glinted with malice as she approached them, her steps measured and deliberate. “You’ve got it all wrong,” she continued, her tone mocking. “I have nothing to hide. In fact, why don’t you come with me? Let’s have a little chat at my place. It’s a bit of a mess, but I’m sure you’ll find it quite… revealing.”

Wonyoung hesitated, her suspicion palpable. “Why would we go to your house? You could be lying.”

Sunghoon, desperate to make sense of everything, placed a reassuring hand on Wonyoung’s shoulder. “Wony, those accusations are severe. We need to see it for ourselves. I have to know the truth.”

Wonyoung grabbed his arm. "No, Sunghoon, it's a trap!"

Yet Sunghoon reassured her, his determination unshaken. "I have to do this, Wonyoung."

Reluctantly, Wonyoung nodded, as she cannot leave her friend alone, and together they followed to her house, each step echoing with foreboding silence. Inside, the house was eerily quiet, the atmosphere heavy with tension. She led them to the living room, her smile still unsettlingly calm.

“Would you like some water?” she asked, her voice dripping with false sweetness. “It’s been a long night.”

Wonyoung eyed the glass of water suspiciously. “No, thank you. I’ll pass.”

Sunghoon, however, nodded. “I’ll have some.”

With a sardonic grin, she handed Sunghoon the glass. “To your health,” she said, her eyes sparkling with malice. “I promise, there’s nothing in it.”

As Sunghoon drank, Wonyoung’s gaze remained fixed on her, mind racing with doubt. “Sunghoon, be careful,” she whispered, but her words were drowned out by the sound of the glass clinking against Sunghoon’s lips.

Minutes later, Sunghoon’s eyes fluttered shut, the dissolved sleeping pill taking effect. Wonyoung watched in horror as he slumped forward, the glass slipping from his fingers and shattering on the floor. Before the girl could react, she felt a sharp sense of pain. Directly after, she crumpled, unconsciously to the floor.

“Come on, Wony. It’s time to play,” she said with a sinister smile, her voice dripping with malice. “Let’s see how much Sunghoon really cares about you.”

The basement door creaked open, revealing a room shrouded in darkness. Leading Wonyoung down the stairs, the air growing colder with each step. At the bottom, the dim light revealed a scene of horror—chains hanging from the wall and a heavy chair on the opposing side.

When they woke up, Wonyoung found herself chained to the wall by her hands and legs, while Sunghoon was tied to a heavy chair in front of her. Panic surged through them as they realized their predicament.

Wonyoung struggled against her bonds, fear and confusion flooding her senses. “Sunghoon! Wake up! We have to get out of here!”

She stood before them, her eyes gleaming with twisted delight. "Welcome to my game room," she said. "Tonight, we'll play a little game."

Her laugh echoed through the room, chilling and triumphant. “Oh, don’t worry, Wonyoung. You’re going to be a part of it as well, of course."

She picked up a set of knives, twirling one in her hand. "Sunghoon, your task is simple. You have three tries to hit Wonyoung in the head with these knives. If you succeed, I will admit to everything and set you free." She paused, a cruel smile curling her lips. "If you fail, you might as well never see the light of day. Same goes to your friends and family. It's quite simple, really."

Sunghoon, bound to the heavy chair, shook his head in disbelief. “Please, don’t do this. I’ll do anything, just don’t make me hurt Wonyoung.”

Her eyes burned with cold resolve. “You don’t have a choice, Sunghoon. You must play. Now, shall we begin.”

She handed Sunghoon a knife, its blade gleaming ominously in the dim light. Sunghoon’s hands trembled as he took it, his mind reeling with fear and desperation. Missing on purpose, the knife embedding itself harmlessly in the wall. Wonyoung's pleas for him to hit her filled the room, her voice desperate and tearful.

“Do it, Sunghoon! For all our sakes, do it!” Wonyoung shouted, her voice breaking.

Sunghoon closed his eyes, the knife in his hand feeling like lead. He threw for the second time, but it missed, clattering harmlessly to the floor. “I can’t do it,” he muttered, his voice breaking. “I can’t hurt you, Wonyoung. I can’t.”

He couldn’t bring himself to do it. With each throw, he missed, refusing to harm his friend. Her smile widening with each miss.

Her smile faded, replaced by a fake expression of disappointment. “Seems like you’re not as perfect as I made you out to be,” she hissed. “Well, you’ve failed. And we do play fair here. Wonyoung, being your friend, makes her my first win.”

Wonyoung’s screams pierced the air as she lunged forward with a knife. The blade sank into her chest, the sound of her agony echoing through the basement. Sunghoon’s heart shattered, his screams mingling with Wonyoung’s, the room turning into a scene of unspeakable horror.

As Wonyoung’s life ebbed away, she sat on Sunghoon’s lap, her knife still in hand.

As she gazed at Sunghoon, her lips slowly curled into a smile that could freeze the blood in your veins. It started innocently enough, a slight upturn at the corners of her mouth. But then, it spread wider, unnaturally so, stretching across her face like a mask. Her eyes, once filled with feigned warmth, now glinted with a dangerous intensity, pupils dilating as if she were a predator honing in on her prey.

The smile revealed perfectly straight teeth, each one gleaming with a chilling, predatory sheen. Her upper lip lifted just enough to expose a hint of gum, adding an unsettling, almost feral quality to her expression. It was a smile that promised not joy or kindness, but a twisted satisfaction, as if she were savoring some private, malevolent joke.

Her head tilted slightly to one side. The contrast between the sweet, almost childish tilt and the dark promise behind her grin was jarring, creating a dissonance that sent shivers down the spine of anyone who saw it. It was a smile that hinted at hidden depths of obsession and a readiness to do anything—absolutely anything—to keep Sunghoon for herself.

This was no ordinary smile; it was a harbinger of the lengths she would go to, the boundaries she would cross. It was the kind of smile that made you realize, too late, that you were already ensnared in her web.

“Mmm, look at you,” she whispered, her voice a dangerous purr. “You’re pathetic, Sunghoon. You let her die because you couldn’t do what was necessary. You’re not the hero you thought you were.”

Sunghoon’s eyes burned with hatred and disgust. “I hate you,” he spat, his voice trembling with rage. “I wish I’d never met you. You’re a monster.”

Her smile faltered, eyes flashing with fury. She jumped up, the knife still clutched in her hand. “You don’t understand, Sunghoon. I did all this for you! I dedicated everything to you! After everything I've done for you? After all the sacrifices, how dare you say something so lethal to me!”

She began to rant, her voice rising hysterically. "You wanna know a fact? Your stupid girlfriend is in that goddamn vat," she pointed to a large container in the corner, "I made fucking jewelry out of her teeth! I did it all for you! Because I fucking love you!"

Sunghoon’s words cut through her madness. “I hate you. I never want to see you again, nor will I ever love you!”

In a fit of rage, she lunged at him, her knife flashing through the air, stabbing him repeatedly while screaming, "How can you say that? How can you not see my love?!" She didn’t stop until the room was filled with the sound of his final, choked gasp. His lifeless body fell to the floor, a silent testament to her unbridled fury.

Sunghoon's blood splattered across the room as he slumped forward, lifeless. She stepped back, panting, realizing the enormity of what she had done.

As the reality sank in, she started sobbing hysterically. "No, no Sunghoon! Wake up!" she pleaded, shaking his lifeless form. Tears streamed down her face as she fell to her knees, her sobs echoing through the cold basement. “I’m sorry, Sunghoon. I’m so, so sorry,” she whispered, her voice breaking with every word. She reached out to him, her hands trembling, but it was too late. He was gone.

Her mind raced, the reality of her actions crashing down on her like a tidal wave. She had killed him, the one person she had claimed to love. The despair was overwhelming, the weight of her guilt crushing her spirit. She grabbed the knife, her hands shaking as she considered ending it all. Her fingers brushed against her throat, the blade’s edge cold and unforgiving.

But then, the distant sound of sirens cut through the silence, pulling her back from the edge. The police were coming. She had to flee. With a final, anguished scream, she stumbled to the emergency exit, her footsteps echoing through the dark basement.

She burst through the door, the fresh air biting at her skin like icy needles. The night was alive with the wail of sirens, the flashing lights slicing through the darkness, growing ever closer. She ran, her legs pounding against the grass, her breath ragged and desperate. The relentless police lights grew brighter behind her, a haunting reminder that she could never escape her sins.

As the sirens blared louder, panic clawed at her throat. She made a final, desperate decision. She couldn’t face the world, not after what she had done. The knife glinted in her hand, its blade sharp and cold, a harbinger of release. She raised it to her throat, trembling as she prepared to end it all. But then, the shouts of the approaching officers pierced the night, their voices urgent and commanding. The reality of her situation hit her like a sledgehammer, knocking the breath from her lungs.

With a final, choked sob, she dropped the knife, her strength evaporating as her body collapsed to the ground. The police swarmed around her, their voices a distant echo, their hands rough as they pulled her from the cold ground. Darkness clawed at the edges of her vision, dragging her down into its merciless embrace. The last thing she saw was the flashing lights, the sirens wailing a mournful dirge, a cruel reminder of the hell she had created for herself.

As consciousness slipped away, a final, despairing thought flickered in her mind: Sunghoon. His name was a whispered lament, a ghost of a hope that had long since died. And then, there was nothing but darkness.

Farewell My love

Farewell My Love

The hospital room was quiet, broken only by the rhythmic beeping of the heart monitor. Heeseung sat still by (Name)'s bedside, his fingers intertwined with hers, his gaze never leaving her pale face. The car crash had snatched away their future, leaving behind shattered dreams and a heart-wrenching farewell that neither of them had been prepared for.

"(Name)," Heeseung whispered, his voice cracking with sorrow as he leaned closer to her fragile form. Her eyelids fluttered open weakly, and a faint smile graced her lips, though her eyes reflected the pain she endured. More Under Cut

Farewell My Love

But you're cracking up, You're cracking up

"Heeseung..." (Name)'s voice was barely a whisper, yet it quivered with a depth of love that transcended words. "I'm sorry... I have to leave you."

"Don't say that," Heeseung pleaded, his heart cracking with each passing second. "Please, don't leave me. I can't live without you."

(Name)'s hand trembled in his grasp as she mustered all her remaining strength. "Our time together... it was a gift," she murmured, her voice barely audible amidst the hum of medical equipment. "Remember our love, Heeseung. It will always be a part of you."

The ways that you say my name, Have me runnin' on and on

Tears streamed down Heeseung's cheeks as he pressed his forehead against hers, his pain consuming him. "I love you, (Name)," he choked out, his voice thick with emotion. "You're my everything."

The heart monitor beeped steadily, a fragile lifeline that seemed to stretch out the inevitable. But then, as if echoing Heeseung's agony, the rhythm faltered. The beeps became erratic, each one a painful reminder of the fragility of life. Heeseung's grip on (Name)'s hand tightened instinctively, his heart constricting with fear.

"No, (Name), please," he pleaded desperately, his voice raw with grief. "Stay with me."

I've shattered now, I'm spilling out

(Name)'s gaze locked with his, a silent farewell etched in her eyes. The heart monitor's steady beeps slowed, faltered, and then, with a final, gentle beep, fell silent.

Heeseung's world shattered at that moment. He clung to (Name's) lifeless hand as sobs wracked his body, his grief overflowing in waves of anguish. He had lost her — his love, his everything. The reality of her absence settled in like a heavy stone, crushing him with its unbearable weight.

I'm reeling in my brain again

Hours passed in the quiet of the hospital room, the only sound of Heeseung's quiet murmurs of love and regret to (Names)'s still form. He knew he had to let her go, to begin the painful journey of living without her. But in that moment, all he could do was hold her hand and mourn the life they had lost together.

As dawn broke outside the hospital window, Heeseung finally rose from (Name)'s bedside. He pressed a tender kiss to her forehead, his lips lingering in a final goodbye. With a heavy heart, he turned away, carrying the weight of her absence with him.

Oh, what am I supposed to do without you?

"Farewell, my love," Heeseung whispered into the stillness of the room, his voice filled with a love that would endure beyond the boundaries of time and space.

And so, with the memory of (Name)'s love etched into his soul, Heeseung stepped into a world forever changed by her absence, yet forever illuminated by the love they had shared.

I'm Mr. Loverman

And I miss my lover
