It may not be in the Top 10 list yet, but this feels like a good sign.
I like to imagine that the supernatural community in London are all just collegively waiting for Panyeland to get married.
Like they're all completely convinced those two boys are dating but because of time period prejudice don't say anything. But everyone is just waiting fir when they announce their engagement.
The witch who owns a flower shop keeps sunflowers, red roses and forget me nots on standby ready to make bouquets at any second.
The ghost costume designer has designs upon designs of their wedding outfits at the ready for then too look over and chose to form in to. (Taking age and period times into account)
The immortal bookshop owner has paper ready for invitations, because the entire supernatural community has been waiting for this.
The seer portrait artist always keeps a few days of each season open as those boys never match with her visions and she wants them to have an image of their wedding day.
The Night Nurse is also completely absorbed in this as well, prepared for when she must give in some solved cases late so they can have a good amount of time for the wedding and honeymoon.
It's somehow a complete shock to Charles and Edwin when they do eventually get married that so many people turned up. All people they knew on the basic surface level but all care for them and want them happy. To know there's people who care about them in their afterlives. It's wild.
rewatching the episode before Crystal hears her mom voice and Edwin and Charles are fighting about the cat king. Edwin asks him "why are you so angry (about the cat king)?
unfortunatly we never hear his answer... but i looove how upset (people could even say jealous) Charles is about this.

thinking about Netflix's recent decision, and I genuinely reckon that if Stranger Things were to be released now, it would be canned after one season too. It's hard to generate a large follower base when a show doesn't even have its production company's support, but Netflix has proven that there is a market for YA, sci-fi, and fantasy. Shows like that just need the promotion and dedication they used to receive. By abandoning so many projects early on, they're just shooting themselves in the foot...

We really do have a chance in this genuinely if we can keep it up for as long as possible! We are doing so great, the cast and crew honestly believe in us. One of the things I love so much about Dead Boy Detectives is how much attention is paid to detail, even on little things, even when they didn't need to go that hard.
Take the very first case. This WWI ghost?
Was killed by chemical warfare.
If you've done any reading on WWI, one of things that comes up again and again was that it was the first major conflict where chemical warfare and gas attacks were employed against soldiers on the ground.
Soldiers on both sides were terrified by it. They had gas masks with them all the time, when there were enough to go around, but sometimes the gas masks failed.
And if someone was hit by a gas attack, what were some of the symptoms? Blistered skin, blisters in the lungs, and irritated eyes, up to and including blindness.
This man was killed by a gas attack, probably mustard gas, and likely when his gas mask failed.
They never mention it in the dialogue. Maybe Edwin and Charles don't even know.
But the show runners did the research and designed his makeup accordingly and slipped in that little nod for anyone who knows the history.
God damn. This series was made with so much care, and it shows.
It's pretty darn special when even the directors are participating in DBDA twitter posts that ask questions like, what is your favorite moment from this episode?
For those who don't know, Richard Speight, Jr. directed The Case of the Very Long Stairway. You might recognize him from Supernatural. He's also given interviews about this episode and what it was like from the perspective of a director, and what a truly special experience it was to work on the set of Dead Boy Detectives.
He's a fan of this show. And he wants it to be saved, too.

i’m really hoping people haven’t given up on dead boy detectives because i still have it playing pretty much on repeat on my computer every single day trying to up the views (i just leave it playing as i go about my day) and i certainly can’t do that alone
