i see a lot of people like "well, dead boy detectives was cancelled but at least we got one season..." NO NO NO NO. why do we have to conform with just one season??? "oh we knew it was gonna happen" it shouldn't happen??????? netflix ALWAYS does the same thing because they fucking get away with it. if a show is not on the top 1 in the first day it immediately gets cancelled, and we have to be GRATEFUL that we AT LEAST got one season???? THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS

can netflix please stop cancelling shows after one season!?! its so fucking annoying. especially when said shows have proper queer representation, three of the four main characters are poc. it makes me fucking angry to see that shows which have been on the top 10 for weeks being cancelled if they dont have all white cishet characters. also this is one of the only pieces of media i've seen that does not fetishize queer relationships, involve abuse and r*pe, queerbait characters, and show happy and real people who are properly represented. the show touched serious and important subjects while remaining relatable. this show meant a lot to a lot of people, and just because a bunch of redneck republicans don't agree, it doesn't mean that dead boy detectives should be cancelled
For now, I will be content with fics and other dbda media that isn't in film form. But that doesn't lessen my craving for some proper dbda episodes. I do not care whether dbda season 2 is on a different platform, but it matters to me so deeply that it is played by the same actors and is a continuation of season 1. I cannot explain how much I desire more proper episodes to fuel this hyperfixation.

Hi guys! So like you probably know netflix decided to cancelled "Dead boy detectives" season 2 which is unfair, why are all the good shows cancelled when really bad ones are renewed!
People on tiktok decided to make a watch party on Thursday, September 5th at 7pm (Great Britain summer time) in hope to make top 10 and show Netflix they were wrong.
I know the show is important for many people so help us trying to save it.

Idk if anyone is a fan of Manifest but it was in a similar situtation as Dead Boy Detectives is: canceled on a cliffhanger and then picked back up. There's a fantastic, enlightening article on how the fans managed to make that happen:

So, Point 1 I'm trying to make: REWATCH THE FUCK OUT OF THIS SHOW. Have it on all day, every day and when it gets to the Netflix Top-10 trending DO NOT STOP. Have it on in the background on a low volume, pop some headphones in if you don't want to hear it. Literally KEEP WATCHING. DO NOT CANCEL YOUR NETFLIX ACCOUNT.
Point 2: If you have a family member or friend who hasn't watched Dead Boy Detectives, ask them to. If they're not interested, here's what I suggest - ask them to let you sign into their account and watch it full through to help boost the viewership. Do it at night when they're sleeping or while they're at work and don't need their account. If Netflix sees an uptick in accounts who have never watched this show watching it, that will raise eyebrows.
They do not care about our feelings. They do not care about the integrity of artful storytelling or the importance of queer representation.
They care about views. We need to give them views. A tremendous turnaround in viewership post-cancellation will make them reconsider. That's how we save our show. It's just like Crystal Palace said - we need a unified front if we're going to face the mistress of doom (Netflix HQ) out there!!!
STREAM THE FUCK OUT OF THIS SHOW and do not stop telling others to do the same! If you were on the fence about watching this show, this is your sign to watch it because we need you now more than ever! I promise you will love it, the show is so meaningful, fun, and special... plus we are an awesome, active fandom with talented writers and artists! Yet again they did a fucking mistake, this time by apperently erasing the other witcher schools-
Coën was a fucking Griffin Witcher, only seeking shelter at Kaer Morhen because the School of the Griffin was destroyed by some angry mages
The school of Griffin was known and well respected for their their study of magic and a fighting style that emphasized multiple opponent. Some mages wanted to get that knowledge but after the grandmasters the griffin declined their request they got angry and created an avalanche that destroyed the keep and killed most griffin witchers
Coën was fond of his masters (espacially Old Keldar, look him up if you want, his story is quite sad tbh) and proud to be a griffin witcher
He would have never worn a wolf witcher amulet and disrespect his origins with that. So to take that from him istg Netflix, this is bs
Also, just a side fact, Coëns first year on Kaer Morhen was actually the year Geralt brought Ciri, not that we noticed anything about that in the series
Just finished watching it (been putting it off for weeks since I saw the bad reviews) and screamed WTF out loud in public. The show deserved much more than this.

The umbrella academy's final season destroyed every character's personal growth and semi-healed traumas, left huge plot-holes, completely abandoned some of it's most beloved side characters that were crucial in previous seasons and you're laugh-oh. You're crying. My bad. Go ahead. Let it out. Understandable.
Hello, Gravity Falls fandom - I’m reaching out to you in a plea of fandom solidarity! Please help us!!!
I’m writing on behalf of The Dead Boy Detectives fandom: our show was canceled in its first season, cut off without a care for its dedicated fandom or its insane amount of potential. Yet another queer, diverse, supernatural show suffers an unfair fate and we’re bloody sick of it! We believe Netflix and Warner Bros. are making a huge mistake!

This isn’t just about getting a season 2: we’re trying to get justice for the cast, crew, and writers behind this unapologetically queer show. They had the writers write a season 2 just to cancel the show and, frankly, that’s objectively a slimy thing to do. I believe Dead Boy Detectives is a casualty of its time, that shows cult-clasic, niche shows like Buffy or Supernatural for instance would suffer the same fate today if held to Netflix’s callous and cruel standards and their blatant disregard for creatives.
Lastly, I just started streaming Gravity Falls about two weeks ago and I LOVE IT - I can say with absolute certainty that if you enjoy Gravity Falls, you will enjoy Dead Boy Detectives. The vibes are so kindred it's not even funny: you all need to watch this show. Please don’t let the cancellation deter you, it really is a phenomenal show that will have you laughing one moment and crying the next. The story is really well-paced and self-contained, so there’s no gigantic cliffhanger to worry about either. This show has so much heart, please help us save our boys who defy heaven and hell with their love! 💜

What pisses me off the most is the fact that Netflix has cited low viewing numbers as one of the main reasons to cancel Lockwood and Co, but might I just point out that the viewing numbers (which were already great) might have been higher if Netflix hadn't developed a reputation for itself by cancelling literally every YA show in recent times. Not to mention the fact that most of the shows produced by Netflix, leave the endings open to another season or on a cliffhanger. As a result, people were quite literally terrified of starting a new show in this genre in the fear of it getting cancelled and just being left with NO conclusion and therefore no fucking closure for the audience. I hope it gets picked up by another network.

So much of the Lockwood & Co. conversation on tumblr is how annoying it is that the show was canceled which while totally valid is really fucking annoying to read about so often (yes I do realize the irony in saying that in this post)
But more than that, do you understand how much I would give to see edits of Lucy leaving in THB to So Long, London? Or Peter? The absolute angst edits we could have if we were given THB in show form actually kills me
They did such a good job with casting just to throw it all away, and then they complain that people aren’t watching their shows anymore!!!

I was thinking, (and I know there are too many logistics to this, but) what if there was a streaming service dedicated to picking up and making new seasons of cancelled shows. All with the same cast, writers, budget, everything. And the show wouldn’t end until it was properly finished. How amazing would that be.
