the problem with Charles x Crystal isn’t like “Oh Noooo their ruining my ship with Charles and Edwin :(((“ it’s that they’re genuinely TOXIC and NOT GOOD FOR EACH OTHER
like Crystal made it abundantly clear that she doesn’t know how to deal with Charles’s trauma and issues, made obvious by the fact that she gets angry and yells that him which is exactly where his trauma stems from in the first place
and Charles is no better, because when Crystal wants to hear hard truths and no-nonsense takes about her and her problems, Charles gives her the delicate, prodding niceties that she has come to resent
I personally LOVE Crystal and her character, but I can absolutely acknowledge that she has aspects of her personality that are not compatible with Charles, and that’s not a fault of hers but it is the truth
I love Crystal so I want her to be with someone who can actually make her happy which for me I believe means someone who is alive and not related to her past life (aka time BEFORE David)
Charles and Crystal and two great characters, capable of being great friends, but are in no way capable of being lovers, with or without Edwin in the equation
