Hi Juno! It's been a while since I've come and read and fic of yours. I hope that you've been doing well and are happy.

Coming back to one of your stories is like coming back into welcoming and waiting arms. It feels safe here with the comfort of your poetic words floating around my mind rather than mechanisms and due dates for projects. It's like a safe haven almost, and even though this story was driven on angst, it felt beautiful and soft. The way you wrote Jungkook and his comforting personality was beautiful and soft.

“I… I may not completely understand what you’re feeling, but I’ll still be here for you. You didn’t deserve this.”

My chest felt so full of love here. You can tell that he cherishes her, and has been for a while. He seems innocent and the type to smile with round, kind eyes. It was very heartwarming to read during that dreary moment, and it was made all the more impactful when he goes on to think that "even with the street lights illuminating your tear-stained features that accentuate the pain you felt moments earlier, he still thinks you’re beautiful."

Oh my heart. Also, I can’t forget this part. The part that completely sealed it for me:

[The Kharli praising Shanna fest continues]

Oh my gosh! You would not believe how relieved I was to have a free day to catch up on this series. This story has been one of the things that I look forward to every week. Seeing how wonderfully this story is progressing and watching the fluctuations and changes of relationships occurring right under my nose has been entertaining to say the least.

First of all, I’m so glad (as I’m sure many others are) that Finn was not cheating. Even though I knew that he probably wouldn’t do that, I couldn’t help the bits of fear and the clenching of my teeth that came when the main character went to his dorm room. To watch how their relationship was covered in glittered and gold to this sort of slow fading is a bit sad to watch. And it's not something that they can just fix because it's always going to be there. The unsynchronized schedules and the fact that they are beginning to really find their footing in their respective places is really making a mark on them. It reminds me of some of the friendships that I've lost due to moving away for college. The distance and difference in schedules can sometimes make it difficult to reach out to those you care about, but I think if you truly want to make a relationship work, then you would do the best you could to make the most of what you have.

On a brighter note though, yay for Mr. Vlad not being an ass. A small victory, but one that made me smile. And, oh, did Jimin do more research on what tendonitis was? If he did, then that was so sweet. I liked reading that small convo because you can tell that bad blood aside (if it could be called that now), that he really does care about her.  And, I also feel like once Sabrina gets that stick (or barre hehe) out of her ass, she and the main character could be somewhat like friends. Possibly. Maybe. I don’t know, she still makes me side-eye her every time I think about the comments she made during the weigh-ins.

It's incredible to be a reader and see how all of the gaps between chapters are being filled. Even more so when you realize how much you gave during previous chapters to sate us, but left enough to keep us hanging until now. Add that to the fact that you plan on this series being 40+ parts, and you have a mind-blown Kharli (but you always tend to do that to me anyway😉). 

The amount of thought and detail that you put into this series, as well as your own love and devotion, keep me coming back for more and more. Every word makes me yearn for the next one. Every sentence keeps me on the edge of my seat, cradling my phone tightly within my grasp until the very end when you leave me with the thought of "I wonder what's going to happen next? Where will Rain continue from? Does she know that she completely and utterly stuns me each and every time she writes or whenever she just simply talks to me?" It astonishes me each and every time, and you and your works have a special place within my heart.

With her hands planted firmly on her stout hips, Jin-young-nim stands before you with a look of slight exasperation stretched across her features. Her mouth is moving, but you can’t exactly hear what she’s saying. All sound seems to have faded out, replaced with a heady buzzing that some part of you recognizes as shock as it infiltrates your mind, leaving your own mouth agape. You can do little more than blink and remember to breathe for several long moments until the silver chopsticks you were holding clatter to the table, finally pulling you from the daze.

Hi Nana,

This is the first work of yours that I read, but it’s so good. I can honestly say that you had me hooked from the beginning and now that I’m done reading this extravagant story, I will be a forever fan and praiser of you and your talents. The way you were able to build this story, create characters that had such dimensional personalities and emotions, and read about how they all conveyed that their actions in different settings was so picturesque. It felt like I was watching an entire movie play out flawlessly in my head.

I love how you put your own personality within this story too. The song references, this part:

"Ugh! I just want you to teach me the basics. That's all, Jungkook. Why are you making this so hard?."

"Because there's a lot of boys on campus you can choose from! Why don't you just pick any of them, like everyone else does!?" you pull your hands back from Jungkook's and grip your cup of coffe instead, finding the belt of your bag much more interesting than his eyes and much less intimidating.

"Because... they're... you know..." there's silence before you speak again Jungkook raises eyebrows, waiting for you to ellaborate. "...men."

When I tell you I SNORTED! I felt that a bit too deeply and in my mind, I was just like “Yep!” But I love how you made this Jungkook. Even though he’s created his own identity amongst the population, the way he treats the main character is so wholesome and you can tell that he genuinely cares about her. The emotions that you pulled out of me during the makeout scene at the party were hot and intense and soft in how he treated her and wanted to do it (or do her hehe) right. The slow ascent into falling in love. The conflicting emotions of “do I keep this FWB relationship or aim for something more”, “do I keep trying to make a relationship with someone I’m questioning or go with my gut” was all so beautifully done and well crafted. 

Even more so were the deeper moments. The moments of sincerity. When she speaks about how she feels "broken" and "pathetic" for still being a virgin. For focusing on school rather than learning how to become more sexually cognizant. I can kinda relate to that. For me, I know that at times I can seem like a prude and I know that I’m picky whenever it comes to trusting people on the lines of relationships which makes it difficult to put myself out there, but I also glare down any male figure that looks in my direction so...😗

Anywho, I actually really enjoyed this. More than I thought I would, and I finished it faster than I wanted to. This story gave me things to think about and ponder over while also just being such a good read and something that I’ll always think about. Thank you so much Nana for this. This really made my night. I’m sending you lots and lots of love.💕

Emily! Hi!!! It’s so nice to see that you’re back. I missed you so much, and when I got a notification saying that you were back, I was so excited. It’s relieving to have your wonderful presence on here and to be able to continue reading your amazing stories. I hope that all has been well for you and that you’ve been taking your time in healing. 

You write with such cadence, Emily. I feel like I was jumping back into familiar territory as I began reading this piece. Everything was just so you. From the detailed construction of the world enhanced by your artistic and vivid syntax and diction to the dialogue that just captivated me until the very end, this story is the epitome of beautiful storytelling itself, and just you and your words continue to make me realize that this is why I love reading so much and that this is why I wear glasses. My eyes never strayed away from a scene, a sentence, a word while my eyes ignored the screen of my phone. You had me hooked from the beginning of it all, made me feel as if my phone was nothing of existence as I immersed myself into their world, and I’m forever grateful that you were able to bring me such strong emotions. 

One thing that I loved about this story between Hoseok and the main character was that things were never rushed. There was a natural purpose and build up that carried throughout, but the spark that set alight a thousand matches was the simple question of “What is your name?” The sexual tension that was carried on after this was so good. You could feel it lingering in the background in almost every moment that they shared together. Especially this scene: 

“___.” Your hand paused above the door handle, your breath caught in your lungs at hearing your name on his lips. You waited through the tingle that ran down your spine, slowly turning around to face him again. He waited as you gathered the courage to lift your face, meeting his searching gaze with trepidation. He spoke no words, simply keeping your attention locked steadfastly on him. The only noise that filtered around the room was the steady drip, drip, drip of ink from his quill that he kept hovering over his letter. 

“You may go,” he finally spoke after several long, agonizingly tense seconds. 

I could feel my breath pause as I read this part. Even more so during the massage scenes where things just felt completely heated and overwhelming with all of those emotions. Wanting to have each other, but cannot. 

By far, my favorite scenes were the last few ones. The repetition and parallel structure of "It was his smile" while Hoseok was committing those acts of flirtation and her following with her “knowing” what he was doing, and knowing that a line had been crossed ever since that first massage that can’t be undone. His smile is, quite literally and figuratively, damning.  

Also, the inserts of the bits of conversation that mark Hoseok as someone loyal. As someone who is a man of God and who would never commit an act so sinful as adults while you described the seductive, sexy, intense, raw act of her massage was poetry itself. It was a complete juxtaposition of his exterior persona and who he was right then and there. It was like Adam and Eve and the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden, and I adore how you crafted that in there. Your mind is complete and utter gold. And, one thing that I also marked as my own interpretation of a symbolic object was the clock because it was not only used as a symbol of the changing hour but a marker of the changing of stages of this forbidden relationship. 

This story was complete brilliance. And it’s so cool how this is based around your distant relative. I can’t wait to read what happens in Part II. Thank you so much Emily! I’m sending you my love.💕💕💕💕
