Jahni!! I can't believe I missed this update, but wow was this one good.
I love the direction that this is going towards and I love how Yoongi is like a spirit guide of sorts. Giving her-pretty harsh-tough love, but I feel like it's especially needed. She's basically facing against someone who can match her energy. Push her buttons and annoy her like no one else can. I think it's pretty cool that Yoongi is there for that and I curious to see how their relationship develops along with Hoseok and Namjoon.
And awww! Poor Hoseok! I just dont want him to be brokenhearted anymore and I hope that soon she'll loosen up on him. On the other hand, I'm also waiting for Namjoon to blow up at her because I feel like Yoongi will be in the background laughing and clapping his hands the entire time.
Thank you Jahni for another wonderful part! I cant wait to see what happens in the next one!!!💕💕💕

一 CHAPTER THREE / DAY THREE.
8:00 AM. The moment you enter your office, you head straight to the swivel chair to plop down on it. Nearly falling out of it, you manage to catch yourself and just take the time to breath. You’re heavily breathing and feel that with every breath you take, you’re running out of oxygen. Another day with Hoseok waking up in bed and another day or rejecting his love. Another day of the same people standing in line waiting for ages for coffee because the machine broke down. Another day of entering the office and Namjoon hasn’t arrived at work yet. Maybe he won’t show, you tell yourself. Maybe that will be different this day.
You’re trying to be hopeful, but the phone rings and when you answer it, it’s the same voice as yesterday and the day before. It’s the same girl that has been reporting you of Namjoon’s tardiness as if this was school all over again. You cut her off, hanging up the phone completely and digging your nails into your scalp that’s in a desperate need of attention. With an exasperated sigh, you feel like crying. You don’t, though. Instead, you try to pull yourself together and turn on your desktop. The same date as the last two days and the same alert for your meeting with JackFruit. Immediately, you turn it off. You don’t think you can go through another day of this.
“For such a smart and successful woman that’s paved her way to the top, you’re fucking dumb if you still haven’t realized what’s happening to you,” a voice rings out. Looking up, you see a man slouching in the chair across from you. Pale skin, cat like eyes and jet black hair, he’s staring at you with a smirk on his face. Slouching, he adorns an all black suit and if you weren’t so frightened by who this stranger is, you’d compliment him on his attire. Instead, you’re screaming from the top of your lungs and jumping out of your chair to fall to the ground.

But the remembered feel of him shuddering beneath your touch made your breath hitch and feet stumble. There was no fooling yourself, and you knew it.
Emily! Hi!!! It’s so nice to see that you’re back. I missed you so much, and when I got a notification saying that you were back, I was so excited. It’s relieving to have your wonderful presence on here and to be able to continue reading your amazing stories. I hope that all has been well for you and that you’ve been taking your time in healing.
You write with such cadence, Emily. I feel like I was jumping back into familiar territory as I began reading this piece. Everything was just so you. From the detailed construction of the world enhanced by your artistic and vivid syntax and diction to the dialogue that just captivated me until the very end, this story is the epitome of beautiful storytelling itself, and just you and your words continue to make me realize that this is why I love reading so much and that this is why I wear glasses. My eyes never strayed away from a scene, a sentence, a word while my eyes ignored the screen of my phone. You had me hooked from the beginning of it all, made me feel as if my phone was nothing of existence as I immersed myself into their world, and I’m forever grateful that you were able to bring me such strong emotions.
One thing that I loved about this story between Hoseok and the main character was that things were never rushed. There was a natural purpose and build up that carried throughout, but the spark that set alight a thousand matches was the simple question of “What is your name?” The sexual tension that was carried on after this was so good. You could feel it lingering in the background in almost every moment that they shared together. Especially this scene:
“___.” Your hand paused above the door handle, your breath caught in your lungs at hearing your name on his lips. You waited through the tingle that ran down your spine, slowly turning around to face him again. He waited as you gathered the courage to lift your face, meeting his searching gaze with trepidation. He spoke no words, simply keeping your attention locked steadfastly on him. The only noise that filtered around the room was the steady drip, drip, drip of ink from his quill that he kept hovering over his letter.
“You may go,” he finally spoke after several long, agonizingly tense seconds.
I could feel my breath pause as I read this part. Even more so during the massage scenes where things just felt completely heated and overwhelming with all of those emotions. Wanting to have each other, but cannot.
By far, my favorite scenes were the last few ones. The repetition and parallel structure of "It was his smile" while Hoseok was committing those acts of flirtation and her following with her “knowing” what he was doing, and knowing that a line had been crossed ever since that first massage that can’t be undone. His smile is, quite literally and figuratively, damning.
Also, the inserts of the bits of conversation that mark Hoseok as someone loyal. As someone who is a man of God and who would never commit an act so sinful as adults while you described the seductive, sexy, intense, raw act of her massage was poetry itself. It was a complete juxtaposition of his exterior persona and who he was right then and there. It was like Adam and Eve and the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden, and I adore how you crafted that in there. Your mind is complete and utter gold. And, one thing that I also marked as my own interpretation of a symbolic object was the clock because it was not only used as a symbol of the changing hour but a marker of the changing of stages of this forbidden relationship.
This story was complete brilliance. And it’s so cool how this is based around your distant relative. I can’t wait to read what happens in Part II. Thank you so much Emily! I’m sending you my love.💕💕💕💕

A/N: Hello lovelies~ This is part 1 of a two-part story based loosely on an ancestor in my own family. After doing a DNA test, I was discussing the results with my cousin and she told me the story of one of our several-times great grandmother and her circumstances. I was inspired and decided to explore what it might’ve been in this. I hope you all enjoy it! It was such a pleasure to write.

"I thought to inspire some more husbandly instincts in myself."
His head lifted from the crook of your shoulder, snatching your heated gaze with his own as he pulled back to look at you. "And was it successful?" you whispered softly, lips scant inches away from his own. He observed you for several long moments, his gaze searching as it roamed the whole of your features.
"No," he said at long last, his voice just as soft as he confessed his guilt to the silent room. "Not even once."
I don’t think you realize how excited I was to read the last part of this story, Emily, and I’m so glad that I had enough free time to read this during my break.
The continuation from the first part to this one flowed so smoothly. Through time, you begin to see that the more Hoseok and the main character gave into and admitted their guilt, the more they wanted each other. When it came to the moment where they met up in the study again, the one place where they indeed have committed the most adulterous acts, the ticking of the clock was a ticking time bomb to their pending carnality.
Also, the parallel of Hoseok’s touches from the last chapter, how they were first testing to now deliberate and desired, was nice to see. It was like a silent agreement after their time again in the library because they knew what they wanted and felt guilty about giving in, but they wanted more, so much more, because it felt good. It’s like the saying “forbidden fruit is always the sweetest,” and it was interesting to see how everything unraveled from then.
When it came to the climax, I knew deep down what was coming, but it was still chilling to see it through. Their cheating was revealed, the pregnancy (which, I was actually surprised that Lady Giselle got pregnant too, so I was half right about that). Everything else was so entertaining yet so overwhelming to read. My heart was racing the entire time because I didn’t want anything bad to happen to the main characters, but considering everything, it felt like it was bound to happen, so I just had to continue reading on with my teeth clenched and let everything fall into place as you wrote it.
This was a really fantastic story to read. Even more so because this was based on your familial history which was tragic, but beautiful to read. Thank you for writing and sharing this story with us Emily. I loved every second of it. I’m sending you lots of love.💕
