a gentle reminder:

eat something. take your medicine. you are not a burden to others. your emotions are just as real as theirs and deserve to be listened to. relax your jaw and shoulders. it’s okay to take a break sometimes you deserve rest. it’s okay to be yourself. you’re not hard to love and anyone who opposes that does not deserve your time. you’re going to be okay.

Good Enough - Cas Imagine

Cas x reader

Summary: You and Cas get in a fight.

You whirled around to the angel behind you. ‘Why? Why did I do it?’ You screamed. ‘Because I needed to’ Cas’ face was hard. His lips pinched into a straight line. His eyes narrowed. ‘You were stupid’ He growled. Sam and Dean stood behind him at the motel you were staying at. You seen Dean wince at Cas’ poor choice of words. Sam stepped forwards but Dean grabbed him shaking his head violently.

You stepped closer to him. ‘It was an excellently thought out plan, until YOU-’ You jabbed his chest. ‘-Decided you couldn’t put aside whatever it is that’s going on with you and jump in the way’ You screamed at him. ‘I just had to clean up your mess’ Cas took in a deep breath and glared at you. ‘You were reckless, you could have died’ You rolled your eyes. ‘Yeah, and you couldn’t have, If I got hurt I got hurt, I’ve gotten hurt before Castiel’ You snapped.

He took in a deep breath closing his eyes and you knew he was loosing patience with this argument. It had been going on for almost an hour, since you had left the old warehouse on the opposite side of town. Honestly, you were surprised that Sam and Dean ad put up with you two fighting in the back seat for this long. Especially Dean, you thought he would have snapped by now.

Castiel’s hand reached out and wrapped his hand around your arm. ‘You can not speak like that, your life matters, you can not just do what you want on a hunt’ Castiel scolded you as if he was a parent talking to a child. As f you had just stolen a cookie before dinner, like you weren’t a grown ass woman who had been hunting for all your life. ‘When you hunt that’s what happens, we die die young, we get over it’ You snapped.

You seen Dean tug on Sam’s arm. He pulled him away from the car and towards the motel room. ‘We put our lives in danger to save others, our lives don’t matter if theirs don’t’ Castiel’s hand tightened around your arm, it was almost becoming unbearably tight. You kept the hard look on your face. ‘Then stop, stop hunting’ Your jaw fell slack. Dean stopped by the door.

Both him and Sam looked back at the two of you. Dean’s hand was hovering over the handle of the door. ‘Give it up?’ You let out a laugh. you were on shock. Give up hunting? Hunting was your life. ‘You can do research, but no hunting’ He nodded. He got a satisfied look on his face like he had just figured out the answer to all the world’s problems.

You froze, he was serious, very serious. ‘I’m not giving up hunting Castiel’ You shook your head. His eyes snapped back down to you. ‘Of course you are, I forbid you from hunting. That is the end of this discussion’ He let go of your arm turning around. ‘Woah, woah’ Dean stepped closer to you two intercepting Castiel making him com to a halt.

Yor shock wore off leaving you with a pit of anger in your stomach. Your eyes narrowed at the Angel’s back. Your fingers curled up into fists your nails digging into the palms of your hand. You body tensed. ‘Forbid me?’ You let all the ange pill out in your scream. Sam flinched behind Dean. Dean’s eyes widened when the flicked over Castiel’s shoulder to you. ‘You can not forbid me from hunting, it’s my life’ Castiel turned around slowly. ‘Y/n, you are reckless. You can not hunt it is for the best’ Your mouth dropped.

He couldn’t forbid you from hunting, sure, hunting was dangerous and sometimes you had to take risks, that was a given. But Castiel couldn’t forbid you from hunting, that was ridiculous. ‘You can’t tell me what I can and can not do with my life’ You growled stalking up to him. ‘I can, and I will, if I see you hinting again I will not be so rational’ You scoffed. Rational, Castiel was being the opposite of rational. He was forbidding you from hunting for crying out loud, that wa the furthest thing from rational you could think of.

He nodded taking your fuming silence for agreement. ‘You will not hunt again’ He clarified. He was using that I am an Angel of the Lord voice. The one he used when he was confronted with a demon or someone who needed to be ordered around. ‘You are too reckless, it puts your life in danger and others around you. Right now, you are not meant to hunt’ Dean took in a sharp deep breath behind Castiel.

Sam visibly flinched and began to rush forwards. Not meant to hunt? Did he really just say that to you? That you weren’t meant to do something you’d been trained to do since you were little. You weren’t meant to follow in your Mother’s footsteps? Before you could help it your hand snapped out. Castiel stumbled slightly from the blow to his face. ‘How dare you’ You screamed. If you had been in a comic there would be steam coming out of your ears right now. ‘You absolute asshole, like you know anything about hunting. You’re a stuck up stupid ass Angel, you pretentious prick’ Castiel looked back at you.

His hand went to his cheek gingerly touching the spot you had struck. Dean’s eyes were wide, his jaw slack watching you. Never since he had known you had he seen you this angry. And he’d known you for years, he had been there when your Father was killed by a witch. You had called him for back up when you went to gank her. And not even then had he seen you this angry, it was just spite and hatred that had shone through then. And a desire for revenge. This time was different, Castiel had struck a nerve, and he’d definitely hurt your feelings.

Castiel opened his mouth to speak. ‘No’ You snarled. ‘Don’t even try’ You shook your head. You turned stalking away from the three men. ‘Y/n’ You heard Sam’s voice call. ‘Wait’ You waved at him over your shoulder as you turned out of the motel stomping down the road.

You watched as the whiskey twirled in the glass. All your anger had disappeared by now, you had been sitting in this small bar for over three hours. Now you only felt hurt if you were honest.

Was that really what Cas thought of you? Did he really think you weren’t good enough to be a hunter? It was all you knew, you had barely went to school. You were thought lore instead of chemistry, how to take apart and put back together a gun instead of how to write an essay.

Hunting was everything in your life, it was your life. Without it you didn’t have anything. Hunting was in your blood, it was what your family had done for generations. There was nothing else, only hunting. And seemingly you weren’t good enough for it, you weren’t good enough to be a hunter. You sighed closing your eyes.

But that wasn’t what really hurt you, what hurt you was that it came from Castiel. The man you had admired since you had met thought you weren’t good enough. You were a researcher to him, not good enough to go out, to fight, to hunt. He seem you as someone weak, someone who should be left at home like a child. You hadn’t seen left at home since you were 11 years old.

You always knew you weren’t as good as the brothers, you never moved as in tune with them as they moved with each other. You always stuck out like a sore thumb with them. Even Castiel fit in better with them, he was better at this than you, true he had Angel powers on you but he was still more in tune with the boys. You didn’t work with people, you never worked with other hunters. The boys were the first people you’d worked with since your Father.

Maybe you just weren’t good enough for them, you were probably better off on your own. That way if you screwed up you wouldn’t bring the boys down with you. Castiel wouldn’t have to jump in front of you. He wouldn’t have to try and help you. Maybe you were reckless, maybe you shouldn’t work with people. You were a good enough hunter on your own, just not with others.

You felt someone sit beside you. ‘What’s a girl like you doing here alone?’ A deep voice asked as its owner leaned closer to you. ‘Trying to get some alone time’ You answered. ‘That’s a hard drink for such a little woman’ You turned your head looking up at him. He was pretty, you’d give him that. ‘Look, I appreciate it and all but seriously I just want to be left alone’ You told him. You weren’t in the mood for this.

You downed the rest of the whiskey and held up the glass. The bartender nodded at you and you slid it to the other side of the bar. ‘Anything you want to talk about?’ The man beside you had righted himself. He was sitting in the stool properly his body facing forwards. He cradled a beer in his hands. ‘Not exactly’ You shook your head and thanked the bartender as he filled your glass again sliding it back to you. ‘Fight with a boyfriend?’ He asked.

You sighed closing your eyes. You took a deep breath and opened your eyes turning your head towards him. You were ready to go off at him but when your eyes landed on his face your words caught in your throat. His expression as only filled with concern and interest. ‘A friend’ You shrugged taking a gulp from your glass. ‘A fight with a friend, he thinking I can’t do my job properly, I’m too reckless’ You didn’t look at him as you told him but stared at your glass.

He sat silent for a moment. ‘What is it you do?’ He asked. ‘FBI’ You told him without missing a beat, it’s what you told all of them. The guys you met in bars, you were always FBI or a journalist or something along those lines. ‘FBI isn’t a job I associated with reckless’ You looked up from your glass to find him smiling at you. ‘It is when it involves saving someone’s life’ He nodded understandingly. ‘Joe’ He held out his hand to you. ‘Y/n’ You took his hand in yours.

You threw another bag in the boot. ‘Hey' You looked up to see Joe walking from your motel room. You smiled at him closing the trunk of the banged up old car. ‘Leaving so soon?’ He smirked. You nodded. You had gotten talking to him after he had approached you, you had told him about your fight with Castiel and had gotten talking. You had both drank a little too much and ended up in your motel room. ‘Duty calls’ You shrugged. He nodded. ‘It was nice talking to you, thank you for the night’ He smiled down at you. ‘You’re welcome’ He leaned forwards and pressed a kiss to your forehead.

You smiled watching him as he strode from the lot. Just as he was leaving Sam came jogging in by him. You groaned. Joe turned and gave you one last wave, you waved back at him. Sam’s eyes fell on you and he glanced between the two of you. He jogged over to you.

He stopped beside you panting and sweaty. He raised an eyebrow at you. ‘You not coming with us?’ He asked. You shook your head leaning on the car. ‘I think it’s time that I got back out there you know?’ He furrowed his eyebrow. ‘Is this about Cas last night?’ He leaned against the trunk beside you. ‘I don’t work well with you guys, I know that. I’ve known that from the beginning’ You shrugged pushing yourself up. ‘I work better on my own’ You felt his hand wrap around your arm.

You turned and looked up at the lovable giant. ‘Cas was worried, he cares about you. Sure he over reacted but it’s just because he was worried about you’ Sam’s face was soft and open. ‘He can’t heal you now without everything,he’s just worried’ You sighed and pulled away from him shaking your head. ‘Sam, I put you guys in danger, it’s fine.Like I said, I work better on my own’ He strode around you. He slammed his hand on the door when you took the handle in your hand keeping it from opening.

You glared up with him. ‘Hey’ He smiled down at you. ‘Y/n’ He sighed and you narrowed your eyes at him. ‘At least have breakfast with us’ You shook your head. It was bad enough that Sam had caught you about to leave. With the way Castiel had reacted yesterday you didn’t want to see him before you left. Who knows how he would react to you wanting to go on your own. ‘We won’t make you stay Y/n’ Sam leaned down a little. ‘Dean and Cas will want to say goodbye, you can’t sneak off’ You sighed and nodded.

You followed Sam back to the room. ‘I was going to text you know, I just didn’t want to deal with Cas going off on me’ Sam nodded understandingly opening the door. ‘He doesn’t think I’m good enough to hunt with you he definitely will freak out if he knew I was going off on my own’ You explained stepping into the room and Sam stepped in behind you.

He looked over your shoulder and you tensed. ‘You wanted to leave?’ You closed your eyes at the deep voice coming from the corner of the room. Sam patted your shoulder. He had planned this, that much was obvious. ‘I need a shower, Dean’s out for breakfast’ You opened your eyes to see him walking across the room towards the bathroom. He gave you a smile before shutting and locking the door.

You looked back at Castiel. He was looking at you with a frown, his eyes squinted and head tilted. You sighed and began walking towards him. You pulled out the chair across from him and sat down on it. ‘Yes, I was going to leave. It’s for the best’ You told him. His frown got deeper at your words. ‘You can not leave’ He grumbled. ‘Why because I’m not a good enough hunter to go out on my own? Because I should be in here reading while everyone else is out there risking their lives? Because I’m not good enough to hunt with you?’ You snapped at him and crossed your arms.

His brows unfurrowed and shot up. ‘Why would you not be good enough? You’re an excellent hunter’ Castiel breathed. You looked away from his face. Your eyes fell on Sam’s laptop. ‘Is this because of what I said yesterday? I was going to apologise today, I did not mean what I said to you. I do not know why I said those things’ You remained silent not wanting to speak to him. ‘I realised I was wrong for saying those things the moment you struck me. I did not mean to doubt your abilities’ You bit your lip and looked down at your fingers as they picked as your hoodie. ‘I shouldn’t have hit you regardless, I apologised’ You said coldly, your voice a monotone. You did feel bad for hitting him and you regretted it but you weren’t going to let yourself get invested.

You heard Castiel sigh. ‘Please don’t use that tone with me Y/n. I did not mean anything I said. I-I do not know what was wrong with me. I just acted on the feelings I had’ That got your attention. Castiel was always so stiff, sure he expressed feelings but for him to admit it straight out like that was odd. You looked up at him.

He was still staring at you. ‘What feelings?’ Castiel pursed his lips and blinked slowly. ‘I was afraid, I could have lost. I did not think you had intercepted that knife. I thought you were hurt. I panicked and then I realised you were okay. I was relieved, even happy. But I realised it was easy to lose you. One false move on a hunt and I could lose you’ He paused for a second and you could feel your resolve melting. ‘I was worried I was going to lose you, I do not want to have to watch you die and hunters die’ Castiel confessed. You felt your eyes well up slightly.

You stood quickly and walked around the table. You bent and wrapped your arms around his shoulders. He tensed but you kept holding him. ‘You won’t lose me Cas. Okay you might’ You whispered ‘But I’ll go out helping someone and doing what I need to do, what I love doing. I’ll go out fighting and with a gun in my hand’ You let go of him and stood up straight. He looked up at you his eyes wide. ‘I’ll go out the way I should go out’ He nodded.

You smiled slightly. ‘You are good enough. You are the best hunter I have ever seen. The Winchesters are not even as good as you. I believed if I kept you doing research I could keep you alive longer’ Castiel stood and now it was you looking up at him. ‘I worry for you. I over reacted. I am sorry. you are good enough to hunt you are an amazing hunter. I do not know how I can to assure you of that fact’ Castiel reached out hesitantly.

His hand hovered over your shoulder for a second before he turned his hand and softly placed it on your cheek. He leaned forwards and pressed his lips to your forehead. It was an action that allowed you to close your eyes and shivered slightly. You smiled.

Castiel pulled his soft lips from your forehead, but only an inch so you could still feel his warm breath on your skin. ‘Stay and I will tell you everyday how good you are, I will make take away your doubts that you are not enough. You will always be enough’ Castiel promised. ‘I’ll stay’ You breathed and wrapped your arms around his torso pulling him into a hug he responded to this time.

You are loved. You aren’t too big, you aren’t to skinny. You’re perfect. Don’t cut yourself please-it may seem like it’s a good therapy but it’s just hurting yourself. Don’t end your life, you may not feel it, but somebody needs you.

You don’t need a boyfriend/girlfriend/partner to be loved. You are amazing, and you’ll get through this rough patch. Trust me, I’ve been where you are, and it’s not pretty. It seems like no one understands, but try to keep smiling. The world can break your spirit so many times but try, try to get back up.

You are needed in this world. You have a purpose. <333

Dear stranger,

have you ever cried so hard that you couldn't recognize your voice afterwards? Have you ever cried so hard that you couldn't breathe and was afraid you'd die?

If you have, remember that you have made it another day, week, month and year. You're still here. You're here for a reason. Don't give up. Keep going.

When it's hard, you feel like you want to give up, but what if instead when you want to hide from the world all that could save you would be a hug, a cup of tea and a sweet word?

As I'm writing this, I can't help but wonder what the future holds. We may have a lot of dark days ahead, but the sun always comes up after the storm.

Have you ever noticed how quickly and peacefully the sky pulls herself together after it rains? How the next day the sun comes up and it shines even more beautiful than before?

Each one of us cry, some harder, some much more often than others. Crying is good. I know you think to yourself, that you're weak when you cry, but you're strong. You're strong because after you stop crying, you get up and have to go on with your daily life. Even washing your face and drinking some water afterwards can be a big effort, but it means that you take care of yourself, as you should. It means you're on the right way.

So next time you cry, cry long and hard. After you finish, listen to some healing music, get up from your bed and go to work, to school, take a walk...etc. Tell yourself it'll get better. Because it always will.

If you feel like nothing makes sense anymore, believe me it does. Everything is for a reason, and everything that's broken, has got a cure, a healing. Speak to someone, there are so many people that feel exactly like you do.

You will get through it. I believe in you.

- from a stranger, that feels just like you

Telling a bi/pan/aro/ace/demi/queer person they “aren’t gay enough” as a queer person means you failed as a member of the lgbtq community. Disgusting.

Olivia Rodrigo was so right when she said “pretty isn’t pretty enough”. There are pretty girls everywhere but anytime we aren’t dolled up to the nines we are just average and it’s not good enough??? Like it’s not Instagram worthy if you don’t look amazing, you don’t get the same compliments you would about your looks dress down as you do dressed up. Pretty isn’t pretty enough because society makes us feel like being pretty is constantly looking perfect. Anyway you are all really pretty and you don’t have to change in the slightest to be pretty enough💜

The Power of Self-Love: Embracing Your Inner Light

Shaina Tranquilino

The Power Of Self-Love: Embracing Your Inner Light

In a world that constantly bombards us with expectations, comparisons, and judgments, it's easy to forget the most important relationship we will ever have—the one with ourselves. Self-love is not just a trendy buzzword; it is a fundamental pillar for personal growth and happiness. Let's explore why practicing self-love is crucial and how it can transform our lives.

1. Understanding Self-Love:

Self-love is often misunderstood as being selfish or narcissistic. However, it goes beyond superficial vanity. It is about accepting ourselves fully, embracing our strengths and weaknesses, and treating ourselves with kindness and compassion. It involves recognizing our inherent worthiness as human beings and prioritizing our mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

2. Nurturing Our Mindset:

Cultivating self-love begins by reshaping our mindset. We need to challenge negative self-talk, replace self-criticism with self-compassion, and affirm our own worthiness. By acknowledging our achievements, setting realistic expectations, and celebrating small victories, we foster a positive mindset that fuels self-esteem.

3. Practicing Self-Care:

Self-care is an essential component of self-love since it involves nourishing our mind, body, and soul. Taking care of ourselves allows us to replenish our energy reserves and maintain balance in life's chaos. Whether it's engaging in activities we enjoy, maintaining healthy boundaries, getting enough sleep or seeking professional help when needed—self-care is an act of love towards ourselves.

4. Setting Healthy Boundaries:

Learning to set boundaries is crucial for maintaining healthy relationships both personally and professionally. By establishing what we are comfortable with and communicating effectively, we protect ourselves from unnecessary stressors or toxic dynamics that drain our energy levels. Prioritizing our well-being reinforces the importance of self-love and ensures we surround ourselves with positivity.

5. Embracing Imperfections:

Perfectionism is an enemy of self-love, constantly pushing us to chase unattainable standards. Instead, let's embrace our imperfections as a testament to our humanity. Recognize that mistakes are stepping stones towards growth and understand that self-worth is not contingent upon external validation or achievements. By embracing authenticity, we liberate ourselves from the pressure to conform and foster self-acceptance.

6. Practicing Gratitude:

Gratitude is a powerful tool for cultivating self-love. Taking time each day to acknowledge the things we appreciate about ourselves helps shift our focus from what's missing in our lives to what we already have. By expressing gratitude for our unique qualities, talents, and experiences, we develop a deeper sense of self-love and contentment.

Self-love is not a destination but rather a lifelong journey—an ongoing commitment to nurturing ourselves physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It allows us to move through life with confidence, resilience, and compassion for others. When we prioritize self-love, we become more resilient in facing challenges, form healthier relationships, and unlock our true potential. So let's embark on this transformative path today—embracing our inner light and celebrating the beautiful individuals we truly are!

Don’t Compare Yourself to Others: Shine Like the Sun and Moon in Your Own Time

Dont Compare Yourself To Others: Shine Like The Sun And Moon In Your Own Time

It's easy to fall into the trap of measuring our self-worth against others. Whether it's through achievements, appearance, or possessions, we often find ourselves comparing our lives to those around us. However, it's crucial to remember that each of us has a unique journey and purpose. Just like the sun and moon shine in their own time, we too can nurture our individuality and embrace our own path.

1. Embrace your uniqueness: Just as the sun is distinct from the moon, each person possesses qualities that make them special. Comparing yourself to others only diminishes your confidence and hampers personal growth. Instead, focus on recognizing your strengths, talents, and passions that set you apart from everyone else. Embrace your uniqueness wholeheartedly and understand that your individual journey brings its own value.

2. Set realistic goals: While it's natural to feel inspired by other people's achievements, constantly comparing yourself might lead to unrealistic expectations. Remember that success is subjective – what may work for someone else might not be suitable for you. Set your own goals based on your capabilities, interests, and aspirations. By doing so, you'll create a roadmap tailored specifically to your needs, ensuring fulfillment when achieving these milestones.

3. Celebrate small victories: The sun doesn't wait for applause before casting its brilliant light upon the earth every morning; similarly, don't underestimate the power of celebrating even minor accomplishments along your path. Acknowledge every step forward you take towards reaching your goals – no matter how insignificant they may seem at first glance. By appreciating these small victories, you reinforce positive thinking and foster motivation within yourself.

4. Surround yourself with positivity: Comparisons often arise when we surround ourselves with negative influences or toxic environments that breed dissatisfaction. Instead, seek out supportive and uplifting individuals who encourage personal growth. Surrounding yourself with positive energy will help you realize that success is not a limited resource – there is enough for everyone.

5. Cultivate self-compassion: Just as the moon shines brightly during its phase without comparing itself to the sun, it's essential to practice self-compassion. Understand that nobody's journey is perfect, and setbacks are a natural part of life. Be gentle with yourself when faced with challenges or failures and learn from them instead of dwelling on negative comparisons.

In a world where comparison seems inevitable, remember that each of us has our own unique path to walk. By embracing your individuality and focusing on your strengths, you can shine in your own time like the sun and moon. Celebrate small victories along your journey and surround yourself with positivity to foster personal growth. Ultimately, by avoiding comparisons, you'll find fulfillment in being authentically yourself rather than trying to fit into someone else's mould. So let go of comparisons, embrace your uniqueness, and bask in the radiance of your personal journey!
