WINTERHAWK HEADCANONS

I ship a hybrid of MCU/Comic Bucky Barnes and Comic Clint Barton together btw.

Clint is the little spoon despite being 6’3. He curls up in his sleep and fits nicely in Bucky’s arms. Bucky likes holding clint and wrapping his arms around his middle. He can feel his breathing and it reassures him.

One time they tried switching and Bucky was being spooned and clint kept getting bucky’s hair in his mouth. And since Clint liked to curl up a lot he kept kneeing bucky in the kidneys. Since then they’ve decided they work best with Clint as the little spoon.

Bucky is an excellent cook and Clint will light the whole kitchen on fire. Since Bucky grew up with his mom and sisters he learned how to cook and enjoys domestic home life. He also likes to bake. And Clint.. clint should never be trusted in the kitchen.

Both of them are unsure of how old they are. Bucky because of.. well.. everything. And Clint because of his dying and outer space and everything else.

Clint and Bucky regularly have shooting competitions. They’re very competitive about it. Whether the shooting competition is in the range or just with paper balls and a trash can.

Clint gives excellent massages. He’ll lay bucky down and massage his back and shoulders when they watch TV. Bucky melts into putty every time.

Bucky and Clint obviously sleep without their prosthetic or hearing aids. At night they’re especially vulnerable and keep several knives and guns within arms reach.

Alpine was incredibly jealous of Clint when they first got together. Anytime they were snuggling or kissing alpine would step over clint and scratch at him.

Clint has chronic pain in his wrists from archery and scars on his hands. Bucky loves ‘kissing them better’.

Clint is uncomfortable with smoking because of certain things in his past. Bucky picked the habit up for a few months but worked to quit it when Clint mentioned how it made him feel.

Bucky is very shocked when he learns clint actually has a nest and is very particular about who can be in it. Bucky’s very warmed when clint lets him in. (The nest is just a dog bed, a ton of blankets, food, drinks, and comfort items)

Bucky loves reading. He’s a complete book nerd. Especially classic literature and books with quotes that will make you question the meaning of life. Clint.. is not a book guy. He’s dyslexic and his limited education didn’t help. but he does like listening to books. Bucky reads books to Clint at night. When a book is really good, they’ll stay up all night talking about it.

They love video games. Clint’s favourite is Minecraft and he’s the guy who will go out and find wolves to turn into dogs. Meanwhile Bucky’s being responsible looking for sheep and wood.

Bucky and Clint are both into sci-fi. Bucky is more into the world building, the system, and how things work. Clint is just fascinated by the what-if’s and absurd fantasies.

I probably have more but that’s all for now haha. idk if they make sense but whatever.

Happy pride winterhawk lovers

You know, shows like Justice League/JL Unlimited, Power Rangers, Scooby-Doo, they basically taught us how to read subtext and ship non-canon couples.

Like, in the Justice League cartoon Bruce and Diana were never together, not explicitly, but there was so many subtle moments, moments that basically amounted to glances and suggestive dialogue, and so we learned as kids that this = romance. Same with Fred and Daphne, same with Blake and Tori, etc.

So then when we get older and we see the same thing between characters in other shows and movies, we remember that subtle/suggestive/non-explicit = romance, and thus we ship these characters, even if they never become canon.

All that’s to say cartoons in the 2000s are why I ship all these fucking superheroes together. So, that’s on you WB.

This is the stupidest thing i ever wrote BUT

There is no straight person in Avengers. Well, maybe there is but Clint Barton ISN'T. That man was raised in circus, he for sure fucked a man. Just look at him. The chaotic bi king at his finest.

I wish we had more content with Clint and Thor as friends. Like they're this type of friends who would get married just because they were boring and they would totally FORGOT about it.

Imagine few years later when Winterhawk wedding and the chaos it would create. Like. Bucky would be throwing up from laughter and be fucking furious at the same time, Steve would want to kill Clint, Sam would be dying and fighting for his life, Nat wouldn't be suprised because she was the best woman on that fake ass wedding. Total chaos. Tony would started praying for patience at some point

As a person who wears hearing aids I really want to clear some mistakes that appears while writing deaf!clint :) (idk if that sentence makes any sense lol)

1. You can sleep with hearing aid, it's not that uncomfortable as you read in those fics. You can sleep comfortable because everything depends how your head is lying on a pillow. You can press your ear to the pillow and still sleep — but only if that weird noise doesn't bother you bc if it does, it can be uncomfortable. People (including me) don't sleep with them just because it is not Eco friendly. Like if you have hearing aid with batteries, you have to buy more of them bc usually batteries rest for a week when you turn off them at night and turn on at day. And if you have hearing aid that you have to charge — they last for only 21 hours and then you have to charge them. The best option is just charging hearing aid at night.

2. Technically there is no hearing aids for adults that have a fun color BUT if you have a small ear you can use the child one (well, you have to change the program and the child aid doesn't have that many options but it is a possibility). Also you can buy stickers for hearing aids to make them more unique :D

3. There is a lot of companies that makes hearing aids but the most popular are Phonak and Oticon. I have the Phonak one and I'm very happy with it.

4. They're fucking EXPENSIVE. In Poland one hearing aid is for like 6000 polish zloty (that's my mom's salary lol) but the goverment helps people with buying them so i didn't have pay 12000 polish zloty. I paid only like 2000 polish zloty for two? And my hearing aid ISN'T like the best quality — the best one is like for 12000 polish zloty for one hearing aid!!!!

5. There are two kinds of the part you out directly in your ear — one of them is totally build up and with the other one you can feel the wind in your ear (I have to admit that I almost cried when i felt the wind in my ears for the first time lol)

6. I've talked with other deaf people and we all agreed that when you are used to hearing aid, not wearing it can make you anxious. Like I wish I was joking but I'm not.

7. Fucking wind. Like when the day is very windy you don't hear anything bc of the wind.

8. If you are born deaf (just like me for example) there is a high possibility that for some people your voice will sound weird. Maybe bc your voice can be a little bit higher? Idk tbh.

9. Yes, we can meet ableism. There are people that think that they can be ableists bc they don't see the hearing aids.

Clint has some self-respect left and refuses to pine after a cat guy. “Are you actually being serious right now?” Nat elbows him in the gut as Clint stares at Bucky’s bleeding face, whimpering a little when he just spits out some blood and, with a scowl, waves off the medic who dares to approach him. “Why is this so hot?” Clint fans himself with his own t-shirt, stretching the cotton with each drag, and pines with the intensity and urgency of at least a hundred dying phone batteries.
