Okay okay, so, hear me out...
It's always troubled me how in episode 6, Simon barely reacts to Wille saying that he loves him (when I would like to think that no matter how hurt he is, he would have at least smiled a bit, even as he said "Have a nice Christmas" - feel me??). So that made me really sad.
Then, then thennnnn I saw an interview where Omar (if I'm not mistaken) mentioned that the "I love you" was added during editing- Wille never really said it during the scene!!
MEANING! THAT ! SIMON! DID! NOT! JUST! BRUSH AWAY WILLE'S "I love you" okay? My soft boi (tough? yes. firm? yes but cold hearted? never ever) just didn't hear it.
They added thatttt cursed "I love you" after to hurt us, people (and it worked!!)

Okay but Simon sitting on Wille's lap getting all cozy while playing video games , his hands are wrapped around Simon's waist holding him tightly and nose burried in those chocolate curles as he slowly trails his nose on tip of Simon's ears , nibbling it , with prepping butterfly kisses all over his neck , leaving Simon writhe and squirm in his hold letting out small whimpers and moans , completely forgotten about the headset he is wearing and Ayub on the other end is getting low-key sus about the voices he's hearing over the speaker .

I definitely think we'll get an envious Wilhelm and Simon in series two, but I really hope (and have completely faith in the writers to sustain this hope) that it's not set out in a romantic entanglement situation. Just think about someone you have been into / fancied yourself in love with - you get (irrationally) jealous over their best friend making them laugh more than you do / like you used to, you get jealous over seeing a deep conversation between them and their parents because you want to be the person they come to with their problems. You get jealous at them absently minded stroking the spine of the book they're reading, because you feel the phantom touch. Wilhelm and Simon don't need each other to rock up with a partner / potential partner to be swimming in jealousy. They are going to be so shattered and so envious of anybody in the other's inner circle in any capacity, because there's currently oceans swirling between them and no easy way to traverse the divide.
