10 Things my Friends just don’t get about K-Pop/K-Pop fans
This is my first serious post, but I felt like rambling about this since I’ve been doing so many ‘Fangirling about K-Pop around friends’ scenarios _________________________________
10. Why some music videos are so weird
Honestly, I don’t really know how to explain it myself. Some K-Pop stars just like weird or enjoy being random, and I honestly love watching them as long as they’re not disturbing (it’s not a K-Pop song, but PONPONPON scares me)
9. Why the guys wear so much makeup
It makes me so mad when friends say that they look like girls because of all the eyeliner (makes me wanna shove a picture of shirtless Minhyuk from BtoB in their face). Famous guys wear makeup all the time, during movies, music videos, events, etc; Korea just makes the make up more exaggerated. And they also say I only like them with makeup on, but I find them just as cute with out it; though it’s a little strange since they almost always have makeup on around a camera.
8. Why they’re so close; ‘why they act gay around each other’
This one is a little less heard from my friends, but I’ve heard that question a few times. My explanation to them most of the time is that they all love each other; they’re like a second family after all. It’s honestly really really cute when you get used to it because it shows how close they are… But I hate it when they use the word ‘gay’ to describe how they look or act. It’s offensive towards gays and them, because they say it as an insult most of the time, which is NOT okay. Even if one of them was gay, I don’t think they’d go for one of their members. also: OTP/BroTPs
7. Why all our time is taken up by them
There are so many bands out there, and getting to learn them all is really time consuming. I like to have at least a good background knowledge for all the bands that I can, whether they are popular or deserve to be popular. Since a lot of time is spent learning all of this and it’s still fresh on my mind, it all slips out without really thinking about it. Plus, it’s fun to talk about and fangirl about, cause you can’t not fangirl when thinking/talking about them.
6. Why we love them so much
This one’s an obvious one because literally every friend I have has asked me that. There are too many reasons, some have been covered and will be covered in this post. In short, I’m gonna say that they’re just adorkable idiots who love their fans(us) so much, so we need to get them the attention and awards that they deserve.
5. Why it’s so hard for us during comebacks
I can’t be the only one with friends who want to shove me off a bridge during comebacks, right? It can be a really hard time to go through, yet all they do is roll their eyes and tell us to shut up. Sometimes it’d be nice that, even if they don’t understand us, that they’d be a little supportive and deal with our fangirling more around those times. I have friends who go through a hard time when their favorite show airs another episode or finale, and while it’s repetitive and I hear it all day for weeks, I still try and support them, so they should return the favor. =o=
4. Why our phones are full of pictures of them and why it’s so hard to delete them
Okay, I know I’m not the only one who saves pretty much every picture of her biases, and I know I can’t be the only one who’s phone is totally full because of those pictures. I honestly don’t understand this myself 100%, but there’s something about having them that makes me happy... and deleting them is way too hard omg
3. Why it’s entertaining to watch them even if we can’t understand them
While it is really frustrating to watch a video without subs, sometimes there’s not a need for them right away. Especially with BTS for me, I can watch them without subs and be entertained and fangirl just as hard. Other than that we just wait for subs and continue towards our goal of learning Korean someday. xD
2. Why we fangirl so hard during music videos
While a huge part of it is their looks because omg they are hot, that’s not always the reason we fangirl. I fangirl over how well their vocals sound or how good the song is as well, so it’s a pity that some friends think I/we love them just for looks
1. Why we listen to music we don’t understand
Every friend ever has asked me why, but I actually like not being able to understand the music until I look it up. Its fun being able to try and figure out what the song is saying through the music video of the sound, it’s one of my favorite things to do. And then when I fall in love with a song and look at what the song is really saying, it makes me fall in love with it all over again. Either that or I sit there like “lol omg I was so off on what this song means, oops.”

~If you follow me you'll know, I promise. I will show you, in a fantasy like fairytale(come here girl). Everyday, tomorrows like today. Money love fashion fame, and all that's in between~
You took a deep breath and looked at yourself in the mirror, trying to calm your racing heart. "You can do this y/f/n," you told yourself. "You are confident and you look great! Knock him dead, fighting!" You smoothed your outfit out once more and turned off the light, heading out of your room and down the hallway to the living room where you sat and waited for your date to arrive.
That's right, tonight you had a date with Lee Kiseop who you never thought you'd be going on one with. It honestly befuddled[A/n: befuddled-basically the same thing as confused, baffled, and perplexed.] you when he asked you out, seeing as how you didn't think you were his type or that he even liked you. You had spent the couple of days, between when he asked you out and now, trying to figure out exactly why he had asked you out. Now tonight was the night, the night where you'd see him show up in a nice outfit looking as handsome as he always is and hopefully you'd have an amazing night.
~Nights without sleep, throughout this night. Tell the DJ turn it up up up and da-da-dance a little more. More nights, through more nights you're still our spoiled boy, and we stay forever young~
Hearing a knock on the front door, you stood and started walking while mentally telling yourself to calm down and breathe. You took another deep breath, opened the door, and then lost your breath altogether when you saw how handsome Kiseop looked. He smiled and held out a small bouquet of (insert your favorite flower) waiting patiently for you to accept them. After you grabbed them you opened the door wider and invited him in, to which he stepped inside and shut the door behind him.
"Uhm, I'm just going to go put these in a vase real quick. Did you find the place alright? You didn't get lost or anything?" You asked him as you walked into the kitchen sink and grabbed an empty vase from under it, then proceeded to fill it with water.
He laughed a little and said, "Even if I did get lost I think it's a man law to not tell a woman that, especially not the ones you like."
You giggled, "A man law? Seriously?"
"Oh I'm totally serious. There's a man law for basically everything, and I mean since I'm a man I have to follow them."
"Wow," you replied shaking your head. You grabbed your bag from off the table and headed towards him, "You ready to go?"
He nodded and held the door open for you then waited as you turned around and locked it behind you two. You walked beside him as he put his hand on your back and led you to his car, opening the door and then closing it when you were settled.

Kiseop had brought you to a nice restaurant that wasn't fancy and wasn't awful, it was just perfect. The time from when you were seated and had ordered to almost an hour later, you two had been laughing and talking. You were enjoying the date so far and had actually started to mentally thank him for asking you out tonight.
"Hey, I have a question." You said after taking a sip of your drink.
"Well then ask away, I'm all ears." He smiled at you and leaned forward, showing you that you had his attention.
"I'm not complaining at all, just merely curious, but why did you ask me to go on a date with you?"
He leaned back and cleared his throat, a blush forming on his cheeks. "Honestly? I may have had a crush on you for a while."
You smiled and narrowed your eyes, "How long?"
He looked away and rubbed the back of his neck, "Just a while. Anyways, the day I asked you out was the day that I had finally worked up enough courage to be able to ask you out. And it took a lot of courage for me to do that, since you know, I like you and everything."
~Come on, come on, don't hesitate and grab my hand. Through the forest of buildings in the sky, I will fly. Everything you believe is reality scattered beneath your feet are hundreds of millions of stars~
You reached out your hand and set it on top of his, "Well I'm glad you were able to work up that courage Kiseop."
"You are?"
You nodded and decided it was time to come clean. "Actually, I never thought I had a chance with you. I mean, you're pretty popular and you're handsome so all those things didn't exactly help ease my nervousness and doubt. Of course not doubt about you, but about myself and if I was just imagining all of this."
"You aren't," he said grabbing your hand. "I'm also glad I decided to ask you out. I don't regret it, not a single second of it. Thank you for accepting my request."
Kiseop gave you a smile, which you returned, and brought your hand up to his face and surprising you by giving the back of it a kiss. You looked down at your plate, hoping to cover the blush you could feel covering your cheeks. Unfortunately as luck would have it, Kiseop gently grabbed your chin and pulled your face up to look at him.

"Wanna go see the next place I have planned," he asked with a smile on his face which didn't help your racing heart at all. You couldn't find your voice to answer him, so you nodded and stood then pushed your chair in and let him lead you outside. [A/n: sooo...you guys have already paid the tab..yeah...i promise you guys just didn't leave without having to pay....even though that would be awesome.]
Once you guys had left the restaurant, he drove to a park and was now helping you from the car. You looked over at him in confusion and then asked him, "So why are we at a park exactly?"
"Well, there's something here that I thought you might want to see. It's definitely worth coming here, but you have to trust me on that."
"Okay," you said and took his offered out stretched hand, walking with him under the lamp light and enjoying the night breeze. "This is nice," you said as you closed your eyes and breathed in the fresh air.
"It is, especially since I have amazing company to enjoy this with." He looked over at you and smiled.

"Wow, I'm not sure whether I should say that was cheesey or die from how cute I thought that was."
He laughed and pulled you closer to him, putting his arm around your shoulders. "Oh, we're almost there. You see that spot up ahead?"
You squinted a little and asked, "The one with the poles?"
"Yeah, that is the place that will blow your mind."
"Oh? You sound pretty confident in that."
"Oh, I am 100 percent confident that it will amaze you so much that you just fall in love with it."
Laughing, you playfully pushed him away and made jokes about how 'weird' he was. Both of your laughter died down when you reached the area that appeared to be a lookout. You walked to the edge and stared in amazement at the view layed out in front of you. It was beautiful, this must be why he decided to bring me here at night. Since it was dark, the city lights were all lit and everything appeared almost as if it was glowing.
~When you first open your eyes you won't believe it, it's okay I will stay by your side. Nobody will nag at you, yeah. Just do it all my way.~
"This is amazing," you said still not able to look away and notice that Kiseop was looking at you.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" You smiled, now awed into silence you stood there breathing in the cool night air and looking at the sight before you. "You know, you're the first person I've come here with."
"Well, I am honored to be that person. Thank you though," you turned your head towards him and smiled. "This has been an amazing night."
"Amazing date?"
You laughed, "Yes a very amazing date."
"I'm glad. It wouldn't be too forward of me to ask you for a kiss would it?"
Your eyes widened and you looked at him with surprise. "A kiss?!"
~You, me and the DJ dancing till the break of dawn. No, no, never gonna stop now. Turn it up, let's party on.~
"Yes a kiss, I would very much like to kiss you." He said as he cupped your face in his hands.
"Why?"
He smiled and said, "Because I have liked you for a very long time and I always imagined what it would be like to kiss you here."
"Well, I guess if that's the reason than I should probably help you find that out."
Smiling, he slowly brought his face down to yours and kissed you. You forgot about the scenery and about how this was your first kiss, your mind went totally blank as you enjoyed the kiss and couldn't wait for more like this to come in the future.
