This is what watching modern day gender debates between tik tok relationship gurus, arm chair twitter psychologists,terfs, radfems, trads, incels, manosphere guys and people that have neopronouns is like to me
the coquette, trad wife aspiring, Lana Del Rey listening, Saltburn watching tumblr girls are the exact profile I would imagine a modern day gen z Anita Bryant would have. She knows she lost the culture war, for now, so she engages catharsis through silently violent behavior of creating and reproducing images of a sterile romanticized straight relationship between her and her faceless emotionally stunted alpha male lover from whatever flavor of protestant America she idealizes the most while she enjoys reenactions of dysfunctional romances between two men that never see healthy fruition to bide her time until her true desires can resurface and take over the cultural zeitgeist again.

Mermay #25 - Brittani Mer Another one from the same band of misfit mers as Finny, this is Brittani. She has Amazon boto and gray seal markings ordinarily, but here’s her as an actual mer because it’s Mermay. XD She was fun to do. I’m glad her shirt came out pretty well too, considering I made it blue at first and then changed it back to her more iconic purple. XD
Mermay #29 - Fay as a Mer So I was gonna jump in to doing more of my chars, but the idea of doing this adorable child owned by CC as a mer was simply too tempting... So I doodled her up, even though I wasn’t even sure about making it a Mermay thing. And here it is anyway. XP Maybe I’ll do one of my chars again next. We’ll see.
Mermay #31 - Illumi as a Mer WOOT! Finished mermay! >8D On time this year, too~ Didn’t have to cram like I did last year XD Yaaay! I had a few days where I got behind, but I managed to stay pretty much on target this month! Hooray!! XD This is a first for me. So here’s Illumi as a mer. Pretty heavily digitalized. The traditional version I only used one color XD The rest was lots and lots of retouching... I think Illumi’s unique blend of colors can really only be achieved digitally, at least with my current skillset. XD With her weird glowy glass stuff everywhere... She’s a challenge to render digitally or not o.O I had to go through a lot of color balancing and photo filters to get what I have now. XD She’s a weird iridescent illuminescent thing... more so as a mer. XD But she’s got the perfect cocky personally to say goodbye to this year’s Mermay with. Phew! What a trip huh? XD
For @niwawings15, a rather belated art trade. XD; I wanted to make him look good so I wanted to look up cat references, and then there was the matter of finding and comparing Rezkwbebz’s refs.. managed to find one in a similar pose even if it was old, so yay. XD; This took quite a bit of digital editing after I called the sketch done... well, at least it looks presentable now. XP somewhat... Anyways, hope you like!
Mermay #01 - Owlmer A little late in starting this... not super late, but later than I’d have liked. XP Welp, @niwawings15 gave a suggestion about an owlmer and after wondering about the legitimacy of a ‘mer’ that isn’t even partly humanoid, I kinda just went for it XD; Has to be one of the weirdest (and most likely biologically improbable) things I’ve drawn and posted publicly in a while XD;; And welp... I dunno if I’m gonna do the full 31 day Mermay run this year, but we’ll see what happens. Here’s the first. XP
Inktober 2019 #1 - Spotil
A bit of a throwback to my Inktober 2014 adventures.
The month of October is called Spotilan on the JI Planet, named for the staple fruit of the Amicans. The Spotil has a consistency, texture and flavor somewhere in the range between an apple and a potato. Perhaps that sounds gross, but the Amicans never tire of it.
Inktober 2019 #3 - Loopspeed Flowervine
Another throw back to this drawing from Inktober 2014.
The Loopspeed Flowervine is an unusual plant that grows in the Great Buddy Highlands and Great Buddy Mountains.
Its leaves grow as if the plant is in motion, and it does grow quite fast- three days from seed to flower. It is rumored the leaves change position at night, leading some to believe the plant really can move.
The petals are beloved for their spicy, cinnamon-like taste and aroma. The leaves also have a similar taste and aroma, but are on the whole much milder than the petals. In tea they are often used to compliment the taste of the petals and give them a richer taste.
