Dedicate Your Heart! by Epica

I believe these lines fit the pre-kotor story of the Mandalorian Wars perfectly well. I love both Japanese version of the song by Linked Horizon and Epica’s one. Like many others, I think it fits Star Wars in general as well, so there’s a video of Star Wars anime opening too. (I would definitely watch that anime if it existed! I would definitely draw a pre-kotor comic or even make a video like that... if I could.XD)

Revan about Malak and the Exile: Nobody dares hurt my friends! Except for me, of course...

Once upon a time, there was a pretty young jedi girl who fell madly in mutual love with a handsome jedi knight. Unfortunately, they both turned to the dark side and then he tried to kill her by the hands of their mutual enemies. In fact, she killed him several months after, without all her memories, even not realizing how much he meant for her once... She might have got married a bright and promising Republic soldier, but she chose to return to the Unknown Regions, instead, to find out about the Sith threat and get the memories back... And then, I suppose, she lived unhappily ever after... That's it in a nutshell. Do you need more?

I adore this video of one of the Old Republic trailers going with that song. I think, it could be a perfect Revan song or even Revan-Malak-the Exile one. It suits Revan and amnesiac Revan a bit better though. Especially “I'm a hero and a villian, I'm a myth, and I'm a legend” lines, they remind me of Darth Malak’s last words - “Savior, conqueror, hero, villain. You are all things, Revan... and yet you are nothing...” 

To express my opinion about possible relationship of Revan and Carth after the Star Forge battle, I could give a long talk why it wouldn't work. I guess that I'll write a short fic about that one day. But many years ago I found that fic that describes my view on revanasi perfectly!

I totally agree with how their relationship goes after Kotor 1 in this short story. The thing is that I see how Carth may love either the identity of amnesiac Revan or the 'mix' of her real self and the false one. But! The more Revan remembers her real past and realizes who she really is, the more complicated her relationship with Carth becomes because they like from different universes. Carth can't deal with all this Force stuff while for Revan it is the most natural thing (can't also forget she was a Kreia's student). He doesn't have neither enough power to support her, nor enough knowledge of Force sensitives and their problems. She has that 'dark past' behind and difficulty in mentioning it and some of the people who used to be the closest to her as, obviously, these are Carth's trigger points. Despite all the issues Carth dealt with, he is much closer to a normal person who's eager for a normal life while Revan often 'looks for troubles and new adventures' to her cost. Revan intends to get all the memories back, which might be pretty annoying for Carth. I'm not sure, he wants to lose the very woman he loved during the journey. I'm not sure, he can truly understand 'real Revan'.

So I'm not surprised their romance may be broken when Revan goes away to recover the memories and find out something concerning the Sith and the Emperor.

Thus, as for me, the phrase 'It's so much easier to love her when she's gone' is a real pleasure and makes sense when taking the above into account.

P.S. I completely understand that my opinion is also based on Revan I see. Actually, I can imagine different versions of Revan, but no one of them would say 'I'm not Revan any more... Don't call me that!' or something like that. Quite a long time ago I realized that I'd like to see Revan with a powerful Force sensitive person with a shared past who's also gone through hard times because of the Force, because of the Jedi Order and not only... in my headcanon that is Malak or might be the Exile. I'm wondering why there are only a few fics by the authors who see the Exile and Revan as a couple since it's such a reasonable way to go...

The Exile to Malak and Carth: I wanted desperately to kill Revan several times. I know you felt the same, once at least.

Carth: So did I. I must confess, once I was on the verge of shooting her...

Malak *with a deep sigh*: Obviously, once I really tried to kill her...

The Exile: Hmmm... And what will happen if Mal and I die fulfilling your plan?

Revan: Die? While you're both supposed to be personal realizers of my plans you're not allowed to die!

After defeating the Emperor and returning to Coruscant, while walking to the Jedi Temple:

The Exile *grumbling *: Exile, Exile... I have a name, as it happens...

His new fangirls *a bit confused, whispering to each other*: Does he really have another name??? Oh... Is he Alek? Or just something like that?

Revan: *dramatic facepalm*

One Shot dealing with Revan and the Exile’s interaction on Dantooine after Malak was captured by Mandalorians (we know that, Revan and the Exile aren’t fully aware of what happened yet). (1640 words) Not sure I managed to reflect all that I wanted in the way I wanted, but... probably, one day I’ll cope with that and write something different and a bit better.

Description:  Mandalorian attacks and Malak's disappearance on his way to a Mandalorian base shocked both Revan and Peter. They are willing to act, but their own thoughts and proximity to a powerful source of the dark side do not help them. These are probably only beginnings of what they have to get involved in.

Notes:

- Peter Brookman is a name of the future Exile; - I wanted to reflect Revan and Peter's uncertainty over the future just before the war, their interaction, some shades of friendship, a bit of night Dantooine's vibes (and also sort of unconscious thoughts and feelings about the future events???); - English isn't my native language so there must be some mistakes; - The title wasn't initially inspired by the Scorpion's song but later I found out that certain lines fit perfectly to the atmosphere!

It may or may not go with Deep and Dark by Scorpions, it depends on a reader.

What if the Exile and Revan were on different sides of the Force? After Kotor 1, of course. And who says they have to be allies?! I can't stop thinking about that now...

Well... I have only 4 fics on archieveofourown.org, 3 of which are English. So the list will be short! Here are the very first paragraphs of my fics:

1. Peter knows the reason why Revan sits on one of the boulders at midnight, with knees slightly bent, and stares fixedly at the near blackness, the only light being the dim lights of distant glittering stars.

2. He feels her presence almost every day. From time to time it flashes especially brightly millions of light-years away. On Dantooine, hardly beloved but meaning something to her anyway. On Tatooine, merciless to all strangers. Or on the harsh but addictive Korriban.

3. Revan flew like a hurricane into the small cosy cottage that was temporary provided to him by the local administration while he was on a mission there. In his wildest dreams Malak could imagine that one day he would live peacefully in such a house. He could... if only he wasn’t a promising young Jedi Knight.

Hmmm. So. As I am an oversharer who posts literally everything she has… I’m just gonna open AO3 real quick to get them in ante-chronological order

1. Loghain watched in silence as Maric’s knees gave out beneath him, one hand still digging into Katriel’s shoulder.

2. The Archdemon hisses, a high, piercing cry, entirely too shrill for a dragon this size. 

3. It had been well over a month since Fontaine and Clarel had left for Weisshaupt, and Erin had been left to supervise the garrison until the Commander was back in Montsimmard.

4.The mission brief was about as standard as they came.

5. He’s an asset, a means to an end. 

6. Three months. 

7. The Sith writhes in the air, kicking and grasping at the invisible hand around his throat. 

8. The building is empty, and it takes some exploring before she finds her old room. 

9. Of the next dream, she has no context. 

10. Her head rests on his shoulder as the sun sets on the old grove, and surely the Masters would tell them that this is no way to meditate, but Revan’s never felt more at peace.

There's been a while since I got an idea to make a list of the songs I associate female with Revan. Unfortunately, I was pretty lazy to realise the idea, but luckily, I was tagged by @marythegizka and did it eventually. Thank you, @marythegizka , so much!:)

So I’ve chosen female Revan from different periods of time in her life for this game (and sometimes the songs are also connected with her relationship with Malak or male Exile - Peter Brookman in my headcanon). Probably, later I’ll add up more songs to the list. The order is spontaneous. Let’s go!

1. Fire by The Score (Mostly, it’s connected with amnesiac Revan and her entangled emotions she can’t comprehend. It also may be considered as the anthem of her life starting from the Mandalorian Wars at least)

(Frankly speaking, I was inspired by the scene of Hermione and Harry's friendly dance to this song from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I imagine the Exile and Revan dancing to it together and trying to collect their thoughts, while Malak is missing, everything is falling apart, the war is already underway, and the two of them begin to agitate knights and padawans to join the Republic in the war against the Mandalorians and also intend to find out what happened to Malak. The song contains hints on what lies ahead for them - … «…I was held in chains, but now I'm free…» and not only…)

5. No Time to Die by Billie Eilish (These lines are about that time when Revan finally finds out her true self and her real past and a little bit after that. Without a doubt, Revan is rather offended by Malak’s betrayal, that’s why ‘You were never on my side’. In my view, she doesn’t really think so).
