My family is still staying in half of the church that wasn’t affected by the bombing because there is nowhere else to stay other than tents. They are limited to one small meal a day and one shower a week. They are sleeping on the floors, but no one can sleep since there is bombing everywhere around them. Even when there is no bombing, they can still hear the loud buzzing sound of the military planes above them, which would keep anyone who hears it awake. Along with everything, My grandma has diabetes and osteoporosis, so she can’t walk. If someone sent you this post, you likely needed convincing that you really were talking to a scammer. Now that you know better, kindly go to @el-shab-hussein 's blog, and choose a vetted fundraiser to donate to. If you are not planning on donating, reblog as many of the fundraisers he has posted as you can. Try to actually read and be familiar with what an actual Palestinian fundraiser looks like, so that you can differentiate the real ones from the scam ones. This is the LEAST amount of effort you can do for Palestinian families.

This is not silmarillion or fandom related, but I need you guys know something. I woke up today and checked my tumblr and it said I had a new follower with a name along the lines of "Dave Johnson." I've already blocked the account but it looked similar to this:
And I was like "why would this guy wanna follow me?" So I looked at his likes and following and I saw a single account related to Tolkien. Since the beginning, I was already catching on that this is a scam, but this made me certain. To reassure myself 110%, I looked up the name and around 10 accounts with the same name appeared.
THIS IS A SCAM!
If this every happens to you, make sure to report and block the user. Never give out your personal information on social media and remeber to be safe!

The fact that people make scams like this is terrible
Sadly got my first scammer, who was asking for a commission or rather a big ahh proyect. I'm a small artist so I was actually pretty hopeful about having this opportunity but just with some research I could see what was actually going on.
I knew it was a scammer because they have never interacted with any of my works, they also haven't followed me for any reasonable amount of time for it to actually make sense that they want sucha a big project from me. Asking me about where i come frome/where I am is nonsensical because it is an easy information that can be easily read in my description. Also the fact that they aren't who they say they are, their whole account is sketchy, who follows other scam accounts, who always comment "you just won an IPhone dm me for 'xxx'" type of shi.
So in conclusion this is very discouraging but through this post i just hope to bring awareness to this type of ppl and to exempt anyone of loosing their time on this type of stuff.

I just got a scam mutual aid ask that was very obviously fake aftee checking the tumblr. Anyone that uses cancer as a form of sympathy pleading for spamming is disgusting. The ask was very obviously fake, they had like 6 or 7 different types of cancer listed out, and when I checked the tumblr most of the reblogs were other mutual aid posts (most of the mutual aid posts that were reblogged looked legit, which is a common tactic scammer use to try to make thier own 'mutual aid' post look fine) and porn bot posts.
If youre gonna fucking spam dont use cancer as a sympathy excuse. Its fucking disgusting.
to the beautiful writers that might see this, ao3 is currently being scrapped by an AI company called RIVD. this isn't your usual AI text scrapping, they are specifically targeting ao3 to feed their own AI / "tech-oriented" fanfiction site
their "takedown form" demands that you give them your full legal name and address. they do not say what they're doing with your personal details. there's no proof that this form works
until ao3 comes out with a proper statement or manages to block their scrapper, just lock your fics for registered users

I'm all for talking to people, but like, man. I talk about random Yu-gi-oh stuff and other random thoughts that drift in my brainless eyes. I wanna talk about things and being friends, but like, you can't just charge into my inbox asking for money within 1-3 messages!
It's not that I don't want to help, but like I skim through, and I can't tell if you're human or just a bot/scam/con artist. I figure if you were real, you would ask someone much bigger than me.
Trust isn't an easy thing to place in anyone on the internet, and if I'm not certain you're real, it's a block. No ifs, ands, or buts about it, this shit makes me really anxious.
