405, 405 where the hell is room 405. I moved through the crowd of people, all of them knowing where to actually go. I should ask someone. I look and see people laughing with their friends and going into classrooms. I'm so lost, my eyes darting from room number to room number. How did I even get to 104? I'm so out of place.
“Hey, are you lost?” I turn and see a girl with brown curly hair wearing a red hoodie.
“Uh yea I'm kinda lost, do you know where room 405 is?” I look at her mesmerized, at the new person in front of me. She’s so pretty, not a single flaw on her face, skin so clear and eyebrows plucked perfectly.
As she spoke I noticed her tooth slightly snagged. I smile such a pretty imperfection on a perfect face.
“...So yea you’re gonna go past the boy's bathroom and there you go.” Her voice faded in.
I did not catch a single word of that.
“Oh, uh could you repeat that? I'm new so I don't know where anything is, really.”
“Why don’t you follow me?” She smiled and I caught a glimpse of that tooth again.
we walked into the room filled with people sitting on desks and talking, she sat down at a desk.
“Oh, by the way, I’m Rue, what's your name?”

“Ok class mellow down, let's get to work.”
I sat down by the window and tried to listen to the teacher go over the syllabus, but I could not get Rue out of my head. I watched her as she secretly passed notes to the blonde girl beside her. I pretty much watched her the entire class.
The class ended and I went to my locker. I’m pretty sure that was the last class, I put my books in my locker. Going towards the doors, rue stopped me.
“Hey Y/N, do you wanna hang out with me and my friends?” She asked me.
“Yeah sure.”
“Ok so this is Jules” she pointed to the blonde girl i saw her passing notes to in class. “And here's Elliot.” I looked to see a boy with blonde tips and face tats.
Damn, he’s kinda hot, not my type but still.
We walked into Elliot's room and sat down. He pulled out a guitar and immediately started strumming.
“Hey Y/N, you smoke?” Rue pulled out some pot and looked at me
“Eh, haven't tried it.” I didn't wanna seem like a prune.
“Wanna try some?”
She blows smoke into the air and at the moment she looks godly. She was so cute. We spend the rest of the night smoking and laughing at jokes Jules was letting about a movie she and rue saw last summer.
After that we hung out every day after school, smoking, telling jokes while Elliot played his guitar.
The next day at school, I ran into Elliot.
“Hey Y/N, you got a sec?” The blonde boy asked, walking next to me.
“ Yeah what's up?” I turned to look at him.
He chuckled,
“I was wondering if you would go on a date with me?”
I was shocked. I didn't even know he saw me like that.
Ok think, you don't even know if Rue feels the same way, maybe if I go out with elliot, I can get even closer to Rue.
“Sure” I smiled sly.
“I’ll pick you up after school and we can go to the movies”
“Sounds good!”
I know this seems like a really shitty plan but I kinda have to go through it now, can't back down.
We arrive at the movie theater and sit down.
Throughout the movie, Elliot kept making moves at me which made me laugh. Maybe Elliot isn't back after all.
“I had a good time.” He spoke as we walked back to the car.
“I did too.”
“Maybe we can do this again?” He asked
“Yeah, we’ll see.”
It was two days since Elliot and I went out, we were all in Elliot's room, the room filled with smoke and music in the air. I looked over at rue laying on the bed and she smiles, I smiled back and scooted closer. Any closer and we would be on top of each other.
I caught Elliot staring at the corner of my eye and his eyes were sad.
“Hey Y/N, could I talk to you for a minute?”
I walked with him outside the room.
“If you didn't like me you should have just said so, instead of hogging all on Rue like that, what you think I didn’t notice?”
Shit.
I looked down at my hands “I'm sorry I didn't know how to tell you, I didn't even know if she liked me or not so I said yes to you asking me out.”
“I’ll help you.” he voiced.
The next day in school he proposal we should all go to the carnival after school.
“ you know what, I think Jules’s and I should get some food.” Elliot randomly said along with Jules confused face.
“No wait I want to go on that rollercoaster” She spoke and earned a stern look from Elliot.
“Actually I think that's a good idea, be right back rue.” And just like that, they left.
Rue and I were walking around passing the colorful light, making her face light up.
This is the perfect moment.
“Rue?”
She looked at me and answered with a “hm?”
“I really like you, ever since I meet you and I’ve been really nervous and unsure to tell you because I don't even know if you like me back. But would you go out with me?” I blurbed. Nerves went through my entire body as she stopped and stared at me. Unread look on her face until she smiled and said
“I thought you would never ask.”
