what should've been
spoilers for stranger things season 4 vol. 2!!
here’s the thing: i am disappointed in the ending of stranger things. not because it was sad, not because im emotionally distraught (although it did not help), but because it didn’t really give the message of finale like it should have, and i think the reasoning for that is because of how many things were left just.. open ended. and forgotten.
my “theory” for this is that the duffer brothers had a lot planned until they realized they really couldn’t put it together without it looking sloppy. like how they left the storyline that is 008 from season 2. i bet that there is so much in that script we didn’t get to see all because they realized that a 2:30 episode is… quite a lot already.
but, either way, the ending is what has left me unsatisfied. it felt drawn out, there wasn’t enough closure, it felt rushed.
that being said, here is how i would have ended it.
eddie is dead. max is nearly dead. and most importantly, vecna is presumed dead. there are losses, but there is that last win. unfortunately, the winning trio doesn’t even know about eddie and max.
nancy, robin, and steve are all walking back, praying that everything went alright. then they eddie and dustin, and it’s clear on their faces that their hearts are breaking at the sight. no words are even exchanged. it’t just pure, raw emotion.
we cut to the paramedics arriving to the creel house. music overpowers their discussion as erica leads them through the house frantically, bursting into the room to find lucas sobbing over max, somehow having revived after a minute of her heart stopping.
we cut again now to the california crew. el is leaning on mike, the group walking out of the pizza store when they look up to see a plane/copter… thing?? they attempt to run, assuming it’s the government. but el knows. she knows it’s him.
the flying machine lands, the dust settling after the propeller is turned off, and out steps joyce and hopper and murray and then a random russian dude they don’t recognize.
el runs. she runs to hopper. she hugs him, crying into his chest. the camera circles them, transitioning to the gang in the upside down, crying and hugging.
next we see lucas running next to the paramedic table thing, clasping max’s hand. the paramedic tells him he needs to let go. he can’t.
erica grabs lucas, pulling him back. he cries. they hug.
all three groups are in pain. they are comforting each other. it is just emotion. and tears.
and then it all goes black. it’s silent. but somewhere, in the darkness, we hear “max…”
then more sounds flood in. beeping. the hospital. lucas reading a book. and we zoom out to the hospital room set up.
and then it’s done.
not only would this give closure on eddie’s death and max’s state of health, but it gives the cliffhanger we needed. it is the finale. it is final.

Unhinged thought of the day but: what if Vickie's character was actually introduced in Eddie's "place"? (hear me out pls! yes, I love Eddie too but neither of these characters existed before s4 so let's just do this little exercise alright?). Note: this became a long ass rant post, so I put it under the break lol
My biggest problem with Vickie's character is the fact that we have no idea who she is, she had like 3 scenes in the entire season and it seems like she was only created to be Robin's crush/future girlfriend. On the other side of this, we have Eddie (who I actually do like as a character), but it's been pointed out more than a few times that he was probably created 'cause the Duffers don't want to kill Steve or any of the main characters (and I think that is a very fair and solid theory/assumption). Ok, so back to Vickie. She could've been a part of Hellfire Club and more of a 'goth girl' (hello, Eden? she has Eden's look/vibe now), so when she is the one who witnesses Chrissy's death, she becomes a suspect and people start speculating about her being into satanic shit/witchcraft etc. So now SHE is the one that has to run and hide and Dustin vouches for her etc, and Robin has a crush on her/is her actual friend. Vickie now: has more than one connection to the plot and is connected to more than one character, so that when she becomes Robin's girlfriend in S5, we understand why, and we know who she is and why she is relevant not only as Robin's love interest but also to the larger story being told. Instead of st*ncy revival, there would be Rockie buildup. We, as the audience, would get why they should be involved romantically, and why Robin likes her etc etc. And she would be a part of the gang as well, and already know about the upside-down stuff too. For the buffy girlies out there, you all remember Riley Finn? (lol don't think about what you think/feel about his character, just. I'm trying to make a point here, ok?). He was absolutely introduced on the show to be Buffy's romantic interest, there is no doubt about it. BUT he was a central part of S4's storyline as well. He was there in the 'normal' everyday side of stuff, but he was also part of the 'shit that goes bump in the night' side of things, being a member of the Initiative and all... And, regardless of how bad or convoluted or just boring you might think it all was, he was plot-relevant as much as he was B's new love interest, yk? Imagine if instead of including him in the story they just went 'oh look! This is Riley, isn't he cute? Buffy has a crush on him. We haven't been able to insert him fully into the story but don't worry! Next season he will be so so relevant. Just you wait! ...Until next season. ...Which will be the last one.'
That is the point I am trying to make here. They could've made Vickie relevant from day one, but they chose not to. They perhaps didn't even deem it necessary. (I mean, she is just "Robin's crush" right? So who cares?? "Be grateful that we gave your favorite lesbian a love interest and shut up!"). And that just sucks imo, 'cause it didn't have to be that way... </3

Steve : I am having Max be mean to him.
Nancy: What?? Why??
Steve: He got a D in Spanish and then cheated.
Nancy : Well, you can't use Max for that, discipline your child yourself.
Robin : Nance, max got straight A's , she needs to be rewarded too.
Eddie : it's a win-win.
I'd like to make a angst/fluff/SFW/NSFW/Wedding alphabet about the guys (including Billy and Robin, I haven't posted anything about them lmao), although I'm not sure who to start with, maybe I'll make a roulette and let chance decide.

“You know staring won’t do anything you know that right?” You turn around seeing Steve leaning against the wall.
You sigh and drop your gaze from Robin and Vickie who are currently talking about something important.
“There’s nothing wrong with admiring someone Steve. You should know you do it all the time with Nancy.” You grab a hand full of movies and start putting them back onto the shelves.
“I can help you out you know, with admitting your feelings for robin.”
You shrug. “I don’t know Steve what if she doesn’t like me and what if I ruin our friendship?”
Steve sighs before putting a movie on the shelf. “You won’t I promise and look Vickie just left it’s worth a shot right now.”
“Fine.” You walk over to robin smiling. Before you could get a word in she speaks. “We’re going on a date! Okay okay, can you believe it?! Holy shit!”
Your smile falls from your face but not wanting robin to notice you put on a fake smile for her. “I’m really happy for you robin but I am off so I’ll talk to you later.”
You grab your stuff behind the counter and walk out getting into your car and slamming the door.
“Is she okay?” Robin looks at Steve who has a frown on his face.
“What did you say to her?” He says coming around the counter.
“I just said that me and Vickie are going out in a date, why would she be upset about that?”
“She was going to ask you out Robin! Fuck, don’t you see she’s in love with you and you’ve been to busy with vickie to notice!”
“No she’s not come on Steve we all know if anyone she’s in love with it’s you.”
“Robin you are one of my best friends but you are really stupid sometimes, Y/n is my cousin, but that doesn’t matter right now but what does is that she had everything planned if you said yes. She’s been in love with you since we starting working at Scoops ahoy and now here at family video.”
“I didn’t know I just thought why would someone like her be in love with me? I’m a nobody, she was the queen in high school and you where the king so I just assumed it was that everyone thought you would be the perfect couple. I feel terrible now I just thought she wouldn’t wanna be with me. Fuck cover for me please?”
“You know I will go get her and cancel that date with Vickie! Oh and here!” He says tossing his keys to the house.
“I will!” Robin runs out of the store getting onto her bike and heads towards your house.
After crying for a while you fall asleep from exhaustion, only to be woken up with the feel of soft fingers moving your hair back from your face.
Opening your eyes you see Robin looking down at you. “What are you going here?”
“Steve told me so I cancelled my date with Vickie and before you say you didn’t have to do that,yes I did because I’m not gonna go out on a date with someone I thought I loved when the person I did love was right in front of me the whole time and to be fair I thought you where in love with Steve,well that was until he told me you guys where related I’ve never felt more embarrassed in my life.” She smiles
You sit up looking into her eyes. “Do you really mean it? Being in love with me? Because I won’t be able to handle it if your just trying to make me feel better.”
“I promise.” Robin reply’s putting her hand on your waist lifting you onto her lap.
“Can I?” You say looking down at her lips
“Not gonna stop you.”
You lean down kissing her lips feeling the softness of her lips against yours. Deepening the kiss you hold her closer to you before adding your tongue.
Robin lets out a soft moan feeling you grip her hair while grinding onto her. Hearing you gasp at the feeling of her jeans rub against your clit that has a thin barrier separating you guys fully.

It was 8th period and the two girls were skipping science. They were smoking in the locker room. Normally Robin wouldn't have ever done this but both girls had had a stressful day and eddie wanted the girls to try it out. (For free of course) Robin was sitting by the fountain and y/n was laying on the bench.
"Should we just go to my house?" Y/n asked Robin who was drinking water from the fountain. Robin nodded and took one last drink before getting up. They packed their stuff up and left the school sneakily.
Y/n drove the girls to her house and they locked themselves in her room. Y/n opened her window and they smoked another blunt. Robin was coughing like a mad man. Which made her even more high. Robin's eyes were red and glossy. Y/ns were puffy and red. They were laying on the floor next to one another. The girls were making jokes which caused them to break out in laughing fits.
"Okay okay we need to stop laughing. My stomach hurts so bad" Robin said giggling which made y/n laugh again. The girls had finally calmed down from their laughing fit. Y/n noticed that Robin was starting to get freaked out.
"Y/n I'm so fucking high right now. I've never felt so stoned before" Robin kept repeating. "Are you feeling okay baby?" Y/n asked nervously and Robin nodded. "You are so beautiful. I'm sorry that was random. I forgot you aren't in my head and have no idea what I'm thinking right now." Robin started to ramble.
"Well what's going on in there baby?" Y/n asked smiling. "I can't stop thinking about how beautiful you are. How you even look cute with no makeup. Red eyes. And a lazy smile. How everytime you laugh it gives me butterflies." Robin said quietly. Y/n blushed at her comments. Robin was staring at y/n like she was the only person in the world. It had y/n gushing. "Can we take a bath?" Robin asked. Y/n nodded and went to go start it.
She grabbed towels and Robin entered the bathroom soon after. When y/n started filling the tub she went a put some bubbles in. She dried her hands and Robin came up behind her. She wrapped her arms around y/ns waist and kissed her neck. "You're so beautiful y/n." She whispered and y/n giggled. "Robin Buckley stop being adorable" she joked blushing.

The girls sat in the bath together. Y/ns hair was up in a messy ponytail and Robin's was down. Robin was lovingly staring at y/n. "I'm so in love with you" she whispered. "What?" Y/n asked nervously. She wasn't expecting Robin to say that. Did she hear her right. "I'm in love with you y/n Harrington. You don't have to say it back but I needed to tell you. I've been holding it in for awhile." Robin said blushing.
"I mean I understand if you aren't ready for that yet but I just needed to let it out-" She started again.
"Robin." Y/n interrupted.
"I mean I just haven't felt this way about anyone in a really long time. I just I'm glad I have you in my life-"
"Robin!" I said in a louder tone and she paused.
"I'm in love with you too" y/n said in a quieter voice.
"You are?" Robin asked and y/n nodded softly. Robin's hand reached up and tangled in y/ns hair. They both leaned forward and let their lips connect. It was passionate and sweet. When the girls pulled away they were both red as tomatoes. Y/n turned around and laid between Robin's legs. Robin rubbed y/ns arms up and down.
"Did I mention my legs are 44 inches from hip to toe. So we are talking about 88 inches are wrapped around you right now" Robin said smiling. Y/n giggled leaned her head onto Robin's shoulder.

The two girls had changed in to more comfortable clothes. Y/n was laying on her bed while Robin laid on the floor. Y/n was missing Robin's touch but was to high to get up and go to her. So she leaned her head off the bed to look at her but she was already staring.
Robin couldn't stop staring at y/n. She was a fucking model. She had the perfect smile. Perfect everything. She was always so sweet and kind. Even shy sometimes. Robin couldn't stop herself from looking at her girlfriend.
"Cmereeee" y/n said in a whiney voice. Robin's face flushed a dark shade of pink before she got up to lay with y/n. When she laid with her y/n turned to look at her.
"I'm really glad we met Robin buckley." Y/n said smiling at the short haired girl. Robin's brows furrowed.
"Why?" She asked curiously.
"Because then I wouldn't have gotten to know what love feels like. I feel really safe with you Robin. I always feel comfortable around you. Ans you know how people have certain places that are home. Well mines not a place...it's you...I never don't want to be around you. I think it's adorable when you get nervous and ramble. I love listening to whatever you have to say." Y/n said smiling.
Robin wanted to cry because she never thought y/n would even feel the same for her at any point in her life. Boy was she wrong. I mean look at them now. There both high and dating.
"I never thought you'd feel the same and boy am I glad you do. I'm glad I got the courage to ask you out that day. I'm glad you're in my life. I'm really thankful for you. I'm thankful to be able to have this kind of love. Cause some people in this world don't get to feel like this. I'm glad I get a chance to. Especially when it's you I get a chance to love" Robin explained not breaking eye contact with y/n.
Y/n didn't know what to say to her. So she kissed her. She kissed Robin gently. Y/ns hands were holding Robin's face while they kissed. When she pulled away she whispered.
"I couldn't ask for a better girlfriend Robin buckley..."
