I forget where I saw this (probably here on tumblr) but I saw someone say Javid is Jack and David movie newsies and Javey is Jack and Davey broadway newsies and I have never seen something so real
Don’t flame me for this but I prefer the broadway version of newsies over the movie by a landslide. I didn’t even know that there was a movie until last year and I didn’t watch it until January of this year. I’m honestly surprised that I didn’t know about it because I “grew up” with newsies, but that was the broadway version and my mom has said she didn’t really love the movie.
That being said I do love the movie and all the characters but the broadway version just holds a special place in my heart. I will always be talking about the broadway version when I talk about newsies.

Anyone else like how in the musical Davey is very against soaking and is successful at getting the newsies to back down when there’s scabs? I don’t like violence and like that for the most part they actually talk it out instead of going at it like the movie. I swear they just punched anyone and everyone. It’s honestly comical, like I know it’s probably easier for a stage adaptation to not have that much fighting, but as it is in real life, it’s more effective that they talked it out instead straight soaking someone.
Ok this is just me but I don’t like Sarah x Katherine. Not because they’re both girls, obviously, but I don’t like it because Katherine is just a different version of Sarah.
Like objectively the ship is fine, there’s nothing wrong with it and people can write really cute fics of the two. But my brain just can’t get past the fact that they’re essentially the same person. I know they aren’t, but Katherine is just Sarah and Denton merged together and my brain doesn’t like that.
If there is something that I wish I could redo it would be my history class from this past school year. I spent way too long hating my teacher before realizing that she is literally an angel sent to earth and that I love her so much.
I didn’t like her teaching style at first, but then I realized it actually made me learn. I just wish I didn’t spend so much time hating her class, because I love history. I would talk to her about random history crap all the time.
She was also a big newsies fan, and she even let me leave after my midterm to go watch the middle school performance of Newsies. Every time we went over Yellow Journalism or anything that had to do with the press she would point at me and mention newsies. She’s just as weird as me, I love her and would die for her. I’m actually really sad I’ll never have her as a teacher again. T-T
I might take AP Psych just to have her as a teacher again.
I asked a couple of my friends who they think is hotter as Jack Kelly: Jeremy Jordan or Christian Bale? And all but one said Jeremy. Even when I told her that everyone else said Jeremy, she was very adamant that Christian was hotter. So I wonder:

Ok so I’m not sure if OP means like at Disney World/Land but like imagine! newsies just running through the streets doing like flips and stuff! Them “stealing” from those like food stand things. Just random outbursts of carrying the banner (from all forms of newsies like 1992seis and livsies) so it’s always a surprise which version they’ll sing!
And King Of New York complete with tap dancing every day at 1 pm in a random spot in the park (since in both versions it starts at about 1 hour ish in)
and there should be a newsies RIDE! Of like a roller coaster type thing and it feels and looks like your scaling up the refuge to break Crutchie out but then Snyder walks in and it goes backwards! And there is a loop up to the rooftop of the newsies house thing (so it links that one scene from 1992seis with livsies rooftop scene)
Just think how cool would newsies at Disney be

Newsies General Headcanons!
♤ It's no shock that every Christmas eve the newsies of Manhattan and Brooklyn have a big ol' snowball fight. Winter while being a newsie is hard, but they manage to find fun moments in it, minus the huddling for warmth and setting fires that accidentally do more harm then good (lookin at you, Albert.)
♧ what is a shock is that they take it a tad bit too seriously.
◇ Race has betrayed Manhattan's team to partner with Brooklyn, he aims to win. despite there being no prize.
♡ Davey has made an igloo of safety. it was supposed to he for him and Les but Les left him to go battle.
♤ so far, Brooklyn has won every snowball fight. Jack aims to change that though, he is a very sore loser when it comes to petty games.
♧ but enough about winter, what about summer!? summer with the newsies is...well, hell.
◇all boys in the lodging house wander around in their boxers and nothing more. (what a shocker.)
♡ there have been many occasions where Race, Jack, Finch, Albert, Spot, and hell- sometimes even Davey! have broken into a random person's pool while the owners were out on vacation.
♤ pray theese guys dont find a public pool, all hell will be broke loose and they will be kicked out and banned for life.
♧ Spot and his gang are chillin in the summer because they can easily access a bunch of boardwalks, lakes, beaches, and docks.
◇ Race always comes to visit, ot pisses the hell out of Spot (it doesn't.)
♡ during the more bearable seasons, they often storm Davey's house and watch movies, play games, or raid his pantry.
♤ one time, they all went to an arcade. it was a magical experience.
♧ They were kicked out for hogging machines and wrecking havoc, but it was still magical. and they left with lots of prizes.
◇ they enjoy their fair share of board games, there's two game nights every week, usually randomly and spontaneously.
♡ they also go to the horse tracks a lot, usually forced by Race. but they enjoy it anyway and Race rants about his hyper fixation of horses for hours. no one really stops him, that'd be mean :(
♤ one time while one too many newsies were drunk, they tried to run into the tracks and pet one of the horses. they have a bounty on their heads, but they always escape it.
♧ they 100% give eachother haircuts, make clothes and plushies for one another, and cook together. it's always chaotic, but it's fun.
◇ whenever a newsie has a crush, the others wont shut up about it and constantly make fun of whoever it is, while also trying to wingman at the same time. tens of newsboys wingmaning isnt the best plan, though.
♡ lastly, davey reads all the new bedtime stories every time he stays over at the lodging house with Les- its started off as him reading for Les, but everyone else just kinda tuned in. he also brings them snacks and money he steals from his parents, and takes care of sick or younger newsies.

It's actually the funniest thing I've ever seen. A close second is when Spot sees Jack scabbing and just absolutely loses it. And then all the Manhattan newsies have to physically restrain him, its peak comedy.
i think the reason i love 92sies spot is bc they hype him up SO MUCH like "noo none of us wanna go to brooklyn spot conlon is scary 😟" and ur like woah this guys gotta be pretty tough and then we finally get to brooklyn and its just some little blonde 13 year old who likes marbles and wears pink suspenders
