POSE deserves a shit ton more hype because it’s SO GOOD. I love it??
Uma Série Cuptástica
Sᴇ́ʀɪᴇ ᴅᴏ Mᴇ̂s: The Cuphead Show!

Dᴇsᴛᴀǫᴜᴇs: Se eu mencionar a animação outra vez...MAS É OK?

Sorry, I think I sounded more confrontational then I meant to. I literally mean why does it matter if you're already engaging in content that's widely considered to be made by people who are problematic in various ways? I don't understand why fiction is being held to a standard that real people aren't held to and I wanted to understand your reasoning. Its not like you owe me an answer or anything just because I'm confused, but the question wasn't meant to be an attack
i really appreciate the clarification :). sorry it took me a while to reply i've had irl stuff going on. and ooh boy this was a deep ask, so buckle up lol.
i guess there's several things to discuss here, so i might start with how mcyt content can be problematic. i'm not going to deny the actions of both ccs and fans, that would be a discredit to people actually effected, as well as an understatement any of said actions. however, i think it's equally important not to whitewash, or otherwise strip away the diverse identities, of the creators and the fandom.
i suppose you're likely talking about the dsmp here, and yes many of the largest personalities there are white, cis, straight men. but it's problematic in another sense to let that be the overall perception of the other queer, or genderqueer, or neurodivergent, or POCs on the server. so while that is by no means a justification for any racism or homophobia from this community, i think it's an aspect we can't easily overwrite.
also, just as important is to mention the fandom itself. i have never experienced or even seen a fandom as neurodiverse, young, and queer as this one at the moment. yes, people should be responsible for their actions and should be somewhat expected to be critical of most content, but that doesn't mean when you consume media you are a "bad person," especially when you're part of the marginalised community that has been hurt before in that media. to clarify with an example- as a trans person there is very little content i can find that has content about me or is not outright transphobic. but when i've found a space where most of my mutuals are trans as well, and can all assign a character as trans too, as broad as that can be, i think that's still more important than the outside perception of a fandom in general. and even beyond a character standpoint, the very interactive nature of myct means that these creators are going to be more exposed to us in return, and be given the ability to grow intellectually as well.
i get that for a lot of white men especially, this is the bare minimum that is often over celebrated, but equally, there's also this weird moral high ground people get off on saying "google is free" when someone has reached out to try and learn something. but that's a larger cultural issue than just in mcyt. but for the sake of understanding, can we all agree that it is a Good Thing when people want to rethink what they've been taught by society.
something else specific to the "media i'm engaging in" is the massive, massive broad scope of who and what 'myct' involves. as i pointed out before, i'm more of a viewer of hermitcraft, mcc, speedrunning than dsmp. (also not trying to make more divides between mcyt fandoms etc just an observation!) so there is often very little crossover between parts of fandom people can be right to be wary of and that of everything else. like, what comes to mind, when people say "myct DNI' on their pinned post or something, that covers so much more than DSMP, it also includes anyone looking at how to use a repeater or something for their redstone build. it's just a bit odd, and once again, i think ties into this idea of moral superiority people can get by not being part of "irredeemable media" even if they don't know what that entails. (not directed at you anon, just generally)
ok, so finally, this was the bit that was most interesting to me. "I don't understand why fiction is being held to a standard that real people aren't held to and I wanted to understand your reasoning." (for context, anon asked this after i made a post on concerns i had for antisemitism in inside job on netflix) i genuinely think this is a cool point to make that involves more discussion than you'd think on ideas of marxism and means of production haha. so, firstly, a distinction of real people vs fiction is always really important in this fandom. it's true that there is a harder distinction between c! and cc! mostly because of the way in which this fandom evolved but there does need to be an understanding on actions of a character and actions of a content creator- for example, well known youtuber Dream has not abused other youtuber Tommy Innit into suicide. (for this portion i will mostly be talking about dsmp creators as they are the streamers i'm most familiar with.)
so with that in mind, let's talk about these standards.
(disclaimer: this is personal opinion developed from being involved in the fandoms of both marvel and mcyt from which i'll be making comparisons)
right off the bat, i don't think the real people- ccs- in mcyt are actually held to lower standards than fiction- such as hit TV shows on Netflix (inside job which was mentioned earlier.) the unfortunate prominence of twitter in this fandom means the smallest slip up by very young people in front of a live audience of thousands means "name /neg" can be trending in minutes, and soon people beyond the fandom circle have heard about it and formed opinions based off screenshots. i'm not trying to justify any actions, merely providing an explanation of how these 'standards' are often impossible to always meet, and cc's are punished pretty regularly by them anyway.
comparatively, creators with deals with netflix have massive teams controlling press, and carefully curating speeches that mean a lot can get by with little push back. and even if it does get pointed out, this is a massive corporation that can afford to keep a sinking ship (think about dave -the-terf- chappelle and the failure of supposedly market lead capitalism. by this i mean, free market economics say that if the audience doesn't like a product, it will not be produced. dave chappelle has instead been repeatedly defended by netflix at the cost of the jobs of several employees who spoke out. and i am furious.)
this isn't really comparable to minecraft streamers who in the past made an offensive joke, was called out on it, and so deleted all their content they felt might also be problematic. again, not a defence, merely an observation.
finally, we must also talk about the methods of earning. other people have mentioned this in a far better way than me but i still need to point out how as long as streamers are paying their mods, they aren’t exploiting anyone. they’re getting paid however much people want to pay in return for a performance. most significantly, you don’t have to pay to watch them, even. it’s entirely voluntary. this isn’t even mentioning the insane amounts of money given to charity by these creators, and the community. people say actions over words? show them the mcc pride 21 results, or the >£300,000 technoblade raised for sarcoma cancer research. like that is a lot of money for important causes. give them some credit.
they aren’t the rich we need to eat.
anyway, that was a loooong post, hope that explained a lot of my feelings anon. fingers crossed this was written in a legible way, there’s not a lot i can do to break up the massive amounts of text lol. also please bare in mind, i am young, with different opinions and though i have tried to remain impartial in my explanation, that is obviously impossible. either way, fuck dave chappelle and fuck netflix.

The Greatness that is You vs Wild

"You vs Wild" is an interactive Netflix franchise starring the reality tv survivalist Bear Grylls. It features all of the crazy yet beloved survival tips of his original show "Man vs Wild".
In the "You vs Wild" franchise, there exists an eight-episode long series along with two movie-length specials.
What will be further discussed is the special "You vs Wild: Out Cold". In this special, Bear Grylls gets amnesia from a helicopter crash and needs to survive in the surrounding snowy forest and mountain area.
Now with these movie-length You vs Wilds, the viewer is given the expected "out-in-the-wild" action-packed adventures, but as well as unique scenes.
From Bear Grylls being devoured by a hippo in "Animals on the Loose" to him being caught in massive explosion and becoming Grizzly Bear Grylls in "Out Cold".
Yet the greatest of these unique scenes is in "Out Cold". Here Grylls comes across a bear carcass and decides to cook its meat and use its fur for warmth.

Bear Grylls? Nah, more like Bear Grills!
Because he's in Bear fur, grilling Bear meat, and his name is Bear Grylls. Absolutely brilliant, the stars are aligning and order in the world has been achieved.
The End of the F***ing World (Season 1)- Review

We want to be in control of our lives. That's why we love shows like "The End of the Fucking World", where teenagers can finally leave their toxic households and go on the run.
Honestly, at first I found the plot stupid. The first episode, too, seemed pretty boring. The only reason I continued to watch was "Alex Lawther". I love him. Like, REALLY, love him. And the more it advanced, the more I liked it.
The best thing about the series is probably the cinematography and the music. They'll make you vibe and chill with it. You'll get some funny feelings too.

"The girl who felt too much and the boy who felt nothing."...The romance was cute. It builded slowly by the time. I appreciate that. It is almost like a modern day Romeo-Juliet. And honestly it couldn't have been better.
Sometimes it's hard to see through other people's eyes. Sometimes we misunderstand our parents. Sometimes we are misunderstood by them. Misunderstanding is a great flaw of life. It's like when life can't find any drama, it makes one.
Overall, the whole series was neat. But I wish they didn't make the second season. Because, though shocking, the ending was one of the best. I'm still gonna watch the second season though. Again, because I love Alex. <3
And also, I think, Alyssa looks super cute...

TV series I've watched in March 2022

The End of the F***ing World - Season 1 & 2 (2017-19)
- Check my previous review of season 1 here
- The season 2 will always be memorable to me because I've binge watched it with my cousin. We talked about it the whole day. I know, whenever I'll watch it again, I'll miss those moments.
- Season 2 also had some serious issues dealt with just like season 1. Bonnie's character hit close to home. I want to hug her. I also want to hug Alyssa and James. They've been through a lot.

Sweet Tooth (2021)
- A world slipped into chaos as a contagious virus breaks through and babies are born as part animals.
- This is the perfect time to watch this show with your family. It is quite emotional.

Our Planet (2019)
- From the grassland to the forest, from the ice covered world to the hot desert, from the fresh water to the high sea, this series shows varieties of habitats of the living beings of our beloved earth.
- This nature documentary is quite different than any other I've ever seen. It discusses the climate change in a way to make people actually worry about the situation. I highly recommend it to all of my followers.
- You may feel like to cry if you're an animal lover.

Strangers From Hell (2018)
- A small town boy moves to a residence of the city where he encounters many creepy strangers.
- I've never imagined this series would be that much deep. It is very detailed and the work is a piece of art. One of the best kdramas out there.
- It's very gruesome and violent. Definitely not going to recommend it to the faint hearted people.
- To be honest it gave me nightmares. I couldn't sleep properly at night for a whole week and only slept at daytime. My mind was totally wrecked.

The Tale of the Nine Tailed (2020)
- A nine tailed fox leaves his position as a forest deity to search for his reincarnated love.
- Though it is a fantasy and romance series, I mostly enjoyed the interaction between the gumiho brothers. And to be honest, I love Lee Rang <3
- Another best part of the series is the mentions of all the different sorts of mythical creatures. I love to know about mythologies of different countries.

Persona (2019)
- An anthology of short films with metaphorical meanings.
- Apart from the fact that each episode was directed by different directors with the same lead actress I don't want to say much about it. Watch it to find out. It's great BTW.
Why Joon Hwi hates his uncle?

I’ve been thinking about it lately. And here is my analysis of the matter.
Han Joon Hwi has the kind of character who empathizes with almost everyone. He tries to understand everyone’s point of view before judging them. This is proved throughout the series in different occasions. For instance, when he didn’t, at once, complain about Kang Sol B’s plagiarism and tried to find out the reason as to what lead her to do such a crime. He also didn’t mind when Seo Ji ho suspected him to be his uncle’s murderer.
If he possesses such a way of thinking, why was he so hard on his uncle about the bribe case before his death?
I think the real reason is that we tend to have a feeling that our parents are technically flawless entities. We don’t expect them to be wrong. Once we start seeing the flaws in them, it’s only natural that we cannot accept that. That’s why the teenagers are usually always in a bad term with their parents. Because that’s the first time a child starts to see their parents as a real human being.
To Joon Hwi, his uncle was like a father. He idolized him his whole life as a symbol of justice. But once that image was removed it was hard for even a sympathetic person like Joon Hwi to accept that. That’s why, he showed such strong hatred towards his uncle. But after his death, Joon Hwi actually came to question it himself that he should have rather asked his uncle as to why he did such things.
How each quote represents the characters

Jo Ye Beom is a modern and a free thinker. Despite making sexist jokes, he easily accepts his friends’ criticism. We also see that he is inconsistent to his own opinion. That’s why, he easily ratted their plans out to the prosecutor. But when his friends find it out, he changes his loyalty towards them. His quote directs that with time the laws are also modified, just like his character.

Isn’t it obvious! Kang Sol B will talk about it since plagiarism is a matter of ethics. When she has to confront about it, her ethics are being shaken. She has learned that not only did she break the law but also did something unethical.

Jeon Ye Seul’s abusive boyfriend is a son of someone who has a lot of followers in law. That gave him the advantage of doing unlawful acts such as violence and rape. He does them because he doesn’t fear the law, which he thinks will be easily taken care of by his father. So we see Ye Seul quoting about those fearless people being punished by law. Notice how she is pointing at the sky? That’s to refer to her asshole boyfriend, to whom she finally stood up to.

Min Bok Gi is just us. We get to see his character as a typical student. And let’s be honest, we’ve all said something like “we’re not machines” when we were being crushed by the amount of homework and assignments on us at some point. Bok Gi literally said that on behalf of all the students out there.

Seo Ji ho has a revengeful mentality. He has given up his whole life to study law just because he wants to avenge his father’s murderer. His quote suggests that treat people the way they have treated you.

Han Joon Hwi has a strong moral when it comes to justice. His uncle is his role model. That’s why he quoted something from his uncle instead of any other famous person, which again talks about judging fairly.

And finally the most chaotic character of the whole series, Kang Sol A. Who else will be able to break the chain but her? This indicates how she is not our regular legal minded person. She goes along with what she feels is right. And most importantly she doesn’t need to quote anything to prove how smart she is.
Are our own parents any different than the step mothers in the fairy tales?

I was watching a documentary series on Netflix called ‘Myths and Monsters’. At a point where they were discussing about ‘The Grimm's Fairy Tales’, which is a book of collected folktales of Germany by the Grimm brothers, they said that the brothers had actually modified the stories to make it acceptable to the children. And one such particular change was that in the story of ‘Hansel and Gretel’. Though worldwide we all know that the siblings were a victim to the cruelty of their stepmother, the original story tells otherwise. They were rather abandoned in the woods by their poverty driven parents.
Now the questions come: Why did the brothers exchanged the real parents with a stepmother? If it was so unrealistic or unacceptable for the real parents to have abandoned their own children, why would the original story has them in the first place?
The series also gave an idea to that. Basically the myths we know have some really deep morals into it. They usually portray the inner dark nature of humans through the images of monsters. So, it is not unlikely to put the real parents’ images as some cruel versions of humans. Because we humans, are capable of such cruelty. It is embedded inside all of us.
But since the civilizations started, we are trying our best to tame such nature within ourselves. As if the wilderness inside us is considered a taboo in the modern world we live in. So, we made another character to drive away this from ourselves. In this case, it is the stepmother. The stepmother has become a disguise for all the dark parts of a parent. Hence, we see this character in almost every fairy tales in the place of a cruel guardian.

strawberries and cigarettes always taste like you
no because i love them SO MUCH

I absolutely hate Netflix’s online presence because they constantly bait the fandoms for their shows and fuck with the shippers by giving their hopes up.
I have a theory that the majority of “I wish Dr. Brenner would die” people are Netflix bots or Netflix employees trying to erase the fact the character actually has fans because he’s the villain and he has no love interest so he’s not marketable to them in some way.
