We need representation

We need representation so kid's eyes aren’t covered by parents who sense danger in two men holding hands

We need representation so women can kiss and not feel ashamed or sexualized

We need representation so bi and pan and omni and anyone with a heart so big it can’t love just one gender isn’t told to choose

We need representation so the people with multiple partners aren’t condemned for cheating

We need representation so kids don’t run up to people asking if they're a boy or a girl when in reality they are neither

We need representation so trans kids don’t grow up feeling dysphoric without the words to express themselves

We need representation so aro and ace kids don’t grow up thinking something in them is broken

why are twitter users calling out the therian kittengirl who's wanted by the US government and who just leaked the US no-fly list with a ":3" for being a bi lesbian. lgbt infighters are on another level. it has 9 girlfriends and is an enemy of the state, I think it can use whatever labels it wants at this point 😭

How are people who are anti pan/omni/ply even remotely regarded as anything but ridiculous? It’s like the final boss of anti mspec les/gay stupidity. What a fuckin joke.

I know we like to talk about people who claim to be for queer weirdness and really aren't, but it's also important to point out that there are people who will wholeheartedly say they don't want us to 'make up more weird shit'. There's a certain brain rot circulating that makes queer people with relatively baseline queer identities throw the queers with more complex and non-normative identities under the bus. I reckon it's a strain of the pick-me virus that causes a monogay or binary trans person with 'normal' pronouns to go 'you make us look like jokes!' or 'not all queer people are like THOSE freaks!' when faced with, say, someone like me: the loveless aroace, m-spec boybutch multi-agender individual who uses neopronouns and xenogenders.

Making cishet society question their ideas of sexuality and gender does not end at Kevin the monogay trans man with he/him pronouns. While that is more digestible than m-spec lesbians and gays and, god forbid, lesboys and turigirls, sweeping these very real queer experiences under the rug to make yourselves more palatable to cishets just makes things worse for queer people. You are only fighting for the acceptance of part of the community, and you're leaving the rest of us in the dirt.

here's to every bisexual who has had their bisexuality policed. here's to every bisexual whose defintion of bisexuality differs from people who try to define it for them. here's to every bisexual who gets told they're just straight. here's to every bisexual who gets denied access to queer spaces because they "look straight" or they're "in a straight relationship." here's to every bisexual gay and lesbian. here's to every bisexual butch and femme. here's to every bigender and genderfluid bisexual who has their identity questioned because of one or more of their genders. here's to every trans bisexual person whose bisexuality comes into question when they come out or start transition. here's to every bisexual who gets told they're bisexuality is "incorrect". here's to every bisexual who gets told their idea of bisexuality is actually pansexuality and they'd be better off identifying that way instead. here's to every bisexual of color who has their bisexuality questioned due to racism.
