Thu - What is the best advice you've ever been given?
I don't know if this count as given, but I recently found a good advice from a book. Becoming by Michelle Obama, it is an amazing book. So many interesting and heart-moving story. The struggle, the joy, concern, inner life of her delivered in eloquent words.
"This meant finding a new profession, and what shook me most was that I had no concrete ideas about what I wanted to do. Somehow, in all my years of schooling, I hadn't managed to think through my own passions and how they might match up with work I found meaningful. As a young person, I'd explored exactly nothing. Barack's maturity, I realized, came in part from the years he'd logged a a community organizer and even, prior to that, a decidedly unfulfilling year he'd spent a a researcher at a Manhattan business consulting firm immediately after college. He'd tried out some things, gotten to know all sorts of people, and learned his own priorities along the way. I, meanwhile, had been so afraid of floundering, so eager for respectability and a way to pay the bills, that I'd marched myself unthinkingly into the law."

I don’t normally post things like this and I don’t believe I will in the future but I think this is an important thing that people need to think about.
I'm not a US citizen but this is going to affect us all. The US is definitely one of the most powerful countries in the world. Who is President will not only affect it's citizens but the citizens in the entire world.
And I am not telling anyone who to vote for, I would never do that, I am urging you to look into who you ARE voting for. And DO vote, voting is a very important right you have that others have died for and fought for and are still denied. Voting is not just a right it’s also a responsibility, and one that should be taken very seriously.
I have been following the election and I know who I would vote for, and it definitely wouldn’t be Donald Trump. I am not a fan of Hillary either but I believe she would definitely be a better choice over someone who has more or less openly admitted to sexual assault. And then lied about it when confronted with the truth, and not for the first time.
So please, please, think about what is best for you and the country. For your neighbours, friends, co-workers, siblings, children, And the rest of the world when you go to vote later this year. Do some research and think about it before you exercise your right to vote.
Take some time out of your day and watch Michelle Obama’s speech, she is a truly inspirational and phenomenal woman and it is worth a listen. She’s a wonderful and passionate speaker and will inspire hope in every single person who listens to her, if you just give it a chance.
Please think before you vote. Please.

my mom and dad (pre biden dropping out) we’re joking about how michelle obama should run, and my dad said she should still run, so i said she should be the vice president. holy shit. my dads face was so excited.
he started saying it was perfect and my brother launched into explanation of how having a former vice president and first lady running together would work so well because they would have experience. my dad was rambling too and was all excited and asked who’s idea it was, and i said mine and he looked me dead in the eye so serious and said “post it.” with an audible full stop😭
