I just finished Mario and Luigi Partners in Time for the first time (loved it!) and I felt inspired to make a thing so i made this. The shroob looks a little strange, but I’m otherwise happy with it. Also, yes, I used to have a bowl cut. Feel free to judge me.

You ever think how M&L Superstar Saga is the only game where the title tells you nothing about the story or game or whatever?
Like all the other ones clue you in somehow
Partners in Time: Time is a component and the partners are baby versions of Mario and Luigi!
Bowser’s Inside Story: Involves Bowser, we go inside Bowser, there’s a story… its a continuation of the Fawful story! Heyo!
Dream Team: There’s Dreams… there’s teams… there’s teams in dreams! Luigi Dreams of Teams!
Paper Jam: It involve Paper Mario. The story gets jammed in its own mediocrity
But Superstar Saga is such a generic name. Its the Saga of the Superstars Mario and Luigi. A chronicle of the life of Mario and Luigi! With that title, they could’ve just given us a generic Mario saves Peach from Bowser story and it would’ve fit the title. The Saga of Superstars!
But no! Instead we go to Beanbean Kingdom to fight and evil bean witch and her evil bean minion because they replaced Peach’s vocabulary with bombs and are trying to use her voice to awaken a dormant star!
Just another day in the Mario Bros life!
Whoever says Mario and Luigi Partners In Time isn’t a good game I will find you and actually punt you into the sun. Look at this wholesome evil family moment!
A “prototype DS,” the homemade hodgepodge of a dev kit used by Alpha Dream to work on Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time before the official Nintendo DS hardware was settled on. It’s a mix of a GBA, a GBA SP and SNES-like gamepad. At the time, the devs didn’t know the full capabilities of the system other than it having two screens and four face buttons, hence why the game itself had only one moment you ever used the touchscreen.

Goop! You gotta love goop creatures, especially one that’s just a living hand! It kinda reminds me of the Muddy Hand… Now, I didn’t really know about this enemy before reading our good pal Bogleech’s posts on Mario enemies- I know! An enemy enthusiast like me! For shame… I never did finish Partners in Time.
Handfake attacks by pulling out signs based on common enemies… what do they hope to achieve by this? It’s really not all that convincing of a disguise, but they’ll attack differently based on what they’re holding.
These guys have four signs in total, the strongest, of course, being Bowser, who summons another enemy to chase you around. And despite these battles taking place when Bowser was a baby, this is present-day Bowser too! Oh, time travel… you always make everything inconsistent!
You may or may not have noticed that all of these signs are based on actual art from the older Mario games! What a great touch! Handfake is probably a nostalgic fellow…
For no reason other than funsies, I thought to compile all the original art that Handshake’s sprites are based on! From left to right, these are from Super Mario Bros., Super Mario World, Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World (again). (Naturally, credit goes to the Mario Wiki!) Boy… it really makes you appreciate the work that went into these, huh? Trying to be accurate to old artwork with a tiny sprite! What were they thinking?
A freakout for every occasion.
In Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, the locked entrance to Shroob Castle can be bypassed by entering the Bros. Ball state and then rolling through a seam between the door and the wall in the manner depicted. Although theoretically, this skips more than half the game, the castle contains puzzles that require the use of moves learned in the areas skipped this way, making the trick unviable in practice.
