Dinner with death(I'm dating her dad)
Finally made my lokean side blog! Go follow @lokeanshaven
Hey, I was @Skolllovesy but I got my shit deactivated somehow :/
Being so afraid of being wrong that you can’t move is actually the worst thing you could do for your practice.
You aren’t imposing on anyone.
You aren’t insulting the Gods. Arguably, you don’t actually know what would be considered insulting unless you’ve actually asked Them.
You’re not going to be beaten up and told you are the worst devotee ever.
You aren’t going to be told by any Deity you are morally imbalanced or impure.
The only thing the Gods are actually concerned with is the ability to get you to listen to Them which means peeling away layers and layers of trauma, biases, and patterns that take you away from Them. They would not forcibly remove you from Their attentions just because you wanted to try something new or do something that no one else is doing.
The ultimate goal of any Divine relationship for either side should always be to draw nearer to Them, not be pushed away because your discernment is inaccurate while you are learning.
I just appreciate my deities so much. I have been so exhausted recently, and they are so gentle and understanding with me. It's interesting, as someone who grew up feeling intensely lonely, and now realizing as I am older that I am never alone when my deities are with me. They are ever-loving, unconditionally caring. I don't need to worry about upsetting them, or losing them, or being abandoned by them; they are forces and presences that I can always look up to and know that they are there for me. I am protected, loved, and I am so grateful for my deities in my life for reaching out to me and guiding me. Their lessons mean so much to me and I'm so happy to be able to spread their love and stories through my own writing.
Got a big ask for the Lokeans
what do you guys do for altars? i’m pretty new to all of this, but i would like to do some kind of altar to Loki. what do you guys use for that? then what do you do with the offerings? do you keep them there indefinitely, or do you burn them as they did years ago? as i said, i’m pretty new. i’m just trying to figure it out right now
This week is a good week
full moon(the harvest moon at that), partial lunar eclipse, able to hear Loki better(i am so happy oh my gods), an actual solid night of sleep, haircut, recovered multiple missing objects, and episode 6 of season 2 of Rings of Power is coming out =D
these things might seem small or insignificant, but this is the happiest i’ve been in months =D <3
this morning my mind kept wandering with my imagination, and I swear I kept feeling Loki mentally poking me, basically saying “hey, I’m still here too” poke “hey” poke. I started getting annoyed and I’m pretty sure he was amused at my annoyance because I kept of my getting drawn back into reality
guys i did a tiny bit of shopping today and i got three candles to burn whenever i pray to Loki.
i am honestly so excited because i haven’t gotten into a store for weeks and i’ve been wanting to get into one for candles
edit: i just remembered that the number 3 is often associated with Loki. the fact that it worked out that well is just perfect
I’ve seen a bunch of random posts saying “your offerings to Loki don’t have to be big or fancy, they can be small and simple he knows and understands😊”
Well uh, that’s cool and all, but here’s the thing… Before I even had an altar for him, my first offering/sacrifice to Loki was ah… my soul. I swore an oath to serve him, to pledge my life and soul to him, even for when I enter the afterlife(wherever the heck I’m going)
I have yet to truly regret my oath

Moodboard altar for Loki 🐍♥️
Sure, particularly if it taught how to do divination too!
Thought
Would anyone watch a divination channel on YouTube I’m thinking of starting?
So I ate Freyja’s offering...
I made some cheese and crackers with beetroot chutney today as a snack, and I left two over for Loki and Freyja. I told myself and them that I’d leave them on the shrine for about 30 mins so they can have a chance to enjoy them, and then I’d eat them.
Then my mum came upstairs with a cup of tea for me. Now I’m not out of the broom-closet and the situation looked a little weird, so I quickly picked up the plate, and put one cracker into my mouth while mum handed me my tea.
As I’d stuffed the rest of the cracker into my mouth, some of the chutney fell onto my white wooden desk chair and onto the floor, very, v e r y narrowly missing my new, white, sheepskin rug. I put the plate down and cleared it up, and knew immediately that it was a sign (most likely from Freyja, bc my left side of the alter is for her and I ate the cracker on the left). I think she was warning me “Hey, don’t touch my food, or I’ll ruin your carpet!” So i quickly apologised and offered her some of my hot tea.
So lesson of the day, let your deities enjoy their offerings before disposing of them
Joanne Harris mentions Loki being related to Sirius “the Dog Star” in Gospel Of Loki. Also I think there’s lots of links to Loki and Sirius from Harry Potter, that’s why I bought Sirius’s wand at Harry Potter World bc 1. It was covered in loads of pretty runes and 2. I thought it would make Loki happy
Fun fact: In Norse mythology, Sirius, the brightest star in the sky, was known as Lokabrenna, or Loki's Torch.
The star Sirius is the brightest star in the sky, a part of the constellation we know as Canis Major. To our heathen ancestors this star was known as Loki’s Brand, or Loki’s Torch (Lokabrenna), a reference to Loki’s role at Ragnarok, when Midgard will be consumed in a fiery conflagration. It is interesting that this particular star was associated with Loki, and Ragnarok. Sirius is also known as ‘the dog star’, because of the constellation it inhabits, and is associated with the hottest, most unrelenting days of the summer, which are known as ‘the dog days’ of summer. It is just before these hottest and driest of days that Sirius makes its most prominent appearance in the summer sky. Because it is one of our closest neighbors, being a mere 8.6 light-years away, and because of its brightness, it can be seen to twinkle with great vigor, especially early in the summer when the weather conditions are unsettled. To the ancient Greeks this vigorous activity heralded the coming of the dog days, in which the crops would wilt, and many people would behave badly. Quite appropriate for a star associated with Loki, isn’t it? Just the other day [I] was perusing a heathen forum on the web, and noticed a comment about “how active Sirius’ twinkling has been lately”, how it coincided with all the craziness happening in the world, and how “Loki has been busy”. So it seems not to have lost its significance. [x]
And an addition from Wikipedia: “Dog Days were popularly believed to be an evil time “the Sea boiled, the Wine turned sour, Dogs grew mad, and all other creatures became languid; causing to man, among other diseases, burning fevers, hysterics, and phrensies.” according to Brady’s Clavis Calendaria, 1813.“
And of course, knowing all this adds rich detail to the character of Sirius Black from Harry Potter. He first appeared to Harry in the summer, possibly during the dog days, and everything about his behaviour fits the Loki influence.
Loki and Blake
Hey, as a heathen and a literature student, I’ve found that I really connect with William Blake’s poetry (he’s amazing) and I particularly associate his poetry with Loki from a political and social protest view point. Blake is not afraid to call out injustices in the church or government, and is very much all for ‘do what you like as long as you hurt no one’.
So if you’re a literature lover or you worship Loki too, I really recommend checking out William Blake
Other people offering food to their deities: Dear ____, God/dess of ____, I offer to you this home-cooked meal which I lovingly prepared for you, full of things people have been offering to you for generations like lots of vegetables, so I’m sure that you will like this. Enjoy this meal which I sacrifice to you *leaves the meal to go cold and then gives it to the earth*
Me offering food to my deities: *eating the greasiest taco in existence at 3 am* mmm this is 1 Good Taco, hey Lokes, Freyjacakes, want a bit? *inhales 5 tacos*
All those types of witch (sea, celestial, garden, etc.) but I have rarely seen aesthetic posts that acknowledge Regular Witch Aesthetic.
You have ten half-burned votives. You don’t need more. Why are you buying more. Stop it.
Crystals? Points? Clusters? What the fuck are those? You just found a really cool rock on the ground and took it home.
You don’t have a garden. Everything is bought in the “spices” section of the grocery store. Maybe you once had a cactus that didn’t die for a month. Maybe.
You have written about fifty spells in your grimoire. You have done three of them.
You have never owned a cauldron. You do, however, have a small ceramic bowl you made in art class in like fifth grade. It’s shitty. You love it.
So much incense.
Sigils are fun to design until they’re not.
You have a patron deity. You pray to them when you remember that you should.
You’ve saved about ten different recipes for offering stones. You’ve never done any of them.
Sometimes other witches talk about wands and chalices and athames. You have a plastic cup and a pair of scissors. Wands are unnecessary.
Do you drink tea? No, but you have seventeen tea-spells in your grimoire. Why the fuck do you have them.
Can’t smoke-cleanse. Terrified of fire alarm.
You went walking barefoot in the woods exactly once. A bug bit you between your toes. You don’t walk barefoot anymore.
Lakes and rivers and oceans are unsanitary. Pools are clean and have noodles. The choice is clear.
What stage is the moon in?????
Tarot are a mystery that you will never solve.
You enjoy doing magic anyway, because magic is more than being a certain type.
And Sleipnir🤣
