i don’t want to discourage ANYONE from getting help. But thinking about how literally victims of rape will be blamed or maligned no matter what. If you’re attractive it’s your fault. If you’re ugly it didn’t happen. If you’re a gay man raped by another man or a gay woman raped by another woman you obviously wanted it and we’ll laugh in your face. If you’re a gay man raped by a woman or a gay woman raped by a man it’s corrective and you were asking for it. If you’re a straight woman raped by a man or a straight man raped by a woman you wanted it too. If you’re a straight man raped by a man or a straight woman raped by a woman well you’re just a joke. Some identities make it worse but even if you’re the most privileged attractive white rich celebrity, you will be cast out and mocked. If you’re pretty, rich, privileged- it’s your fault, it wasn’t a big deal, must be soooo horrible to be desired. If you’re fat, ugly, disabled, old- it didn’t happen, or if it did, you should be glad someone wanted you. It doesn’t matter if you’re an 80 year old woman bedridden raped by her son, or a baby boy who can’t even speak raped by your uncle, or a teenage girl raped by your boyfriend’s friend, or a 30-year-old man raped by your new girlfriend. It doesn’t matter who you are, who they are, your race your wealth your age your state of mind if you were drunk on drugs sober the circumstances if you were manipulated violently forced drugged your relationship if it was your husband or a back alley stranger. Someone will find a way to blame you, someone will find a way to laugh at you.

some of white western feminist advocacy boils down to viewing issues (problematically so) as one-dimensional. their praxis never includes reflexivity, accountability, and intersectionality; while they ensure that their OWN reproductive health rights are never threatened, they vastly ignore so many people suffering in the world just because it doesn't directly impact them -looking at their priorities is just always so shameless and despicable.
Feminists who hate, reject, exclude lgbtq+ are no feminists
In my time on this site, I have often seen radical feminists (of the trans-exclusionary persuasion) complain about trans women presenting themselves in ways that enforce caricatures and stereotypes of women and femininity.
My response to this, however, is: why is the full blame for this being placed on said trans women instead of on the patriarchal systems that skew everyone’s perception of what it means to be a woman?
