Since it's been a while, Why not introduce his Blood Demon Art properly? (It's just me rambling anyway) -Purging Flames-
Rengoku's blood demon art allows him to set fire to any part of his body, (which he can control at will) mainly his hair, which takes on a different appearance. Her fiery hair is significantly longer than normal, reaching below his waist, and changing to various colors.

Adding to this, to keep the flames stable, His BDA “feeds” on its own blood, burning some of it I suppose? (And yes it hurts, the more he uses it, the more it burns, although training can improve the tolerance to this.) The result of this is an ash-like substance that he can also manipulate, being used primarily for stealth. (For example, obstructing the enemy's view.) This is part of an AU where Akaza forces the demon transformation on Rengoku, to sum it up. :O
