Game Recommendations - Tumblr Posts
So I've started playing this game recently...

*New hyperfixation acquired*
The game is "In Stars and Time" btw i highly recommend it to anyone. It's a really charming and aesthetically pleasing game with a little dash of ✨Trauma✨
I've gained an emotional attachment to all of the characters as if they were actual people, is this okay? 😭
This game is very brave in covering a lot of topics like mental illness, trauma (again), and LGBTQ+ in a way that isn't harmful and is actually really supportive!<3 (still haven't recovered mentally tho)
So yeah this is my pitch to PLAY THIS GAME NOW!! Or don't I don't really care... 👀👀
THEME: Space and Stars
This week's themes are all loosely categorized under space, from space-westerns, to space-fantasy, to some games entirely within their own genre.

Boar Beasts on A Barbarous Planet, by Z.W. Garth.
Boar Beasts on a Barbarous Planet is a 2-page Push Powered roleplaying game of boarfolk warriors surviving on a planet of swords-and-lasers, covered in hostile biomes and littered with the sci-fi tech of planetary invaders who couldn't cut it in this harsh world.
Players take on the role of warriors dedicated to protecting their sounder from the many threats that plague them, in this harsh, psychedelic world.
Push games use an interesting 'push-your-luck' mechanic, in which your can choose to re-roll and add to your roll in order to make a "weak" success stronger - but roll too high, and you meet disaster. In my opinion, it's an SRD that feels a little over-looked in the indie scene.
This game is meant to be brutal and violent, on a world that is difficult to survive. Your characters enter the story battle-scarred, and will leave the story worse, possibly even dead. This looks to be a game that’s full of prompts and roll-tables, so if you like random generation, I recommend checking this one out.
From Out of the Boundless Deep, by Scyllaycs.
From Out the Boundless Deep is a two-player game about a mech pilot and an engineer working on the starship the Boundless. The game follows the pilot’s dangerous missions off the ship, the engineer’s meaningful repairs onboard the ship, and the brief moments the two meet between missions.
This game has two players, and no set GM. If you want to be a character who’s interacting with a dynamic set of stats and risky endeavours, you can pick up the Pilot. If you like building and modding things to set up the two of you for future challenges, then the Engineer might be more your style. The Game itself is split into two phases: Ship Phase and Mission Phase, with each phase giving the player a chance to shine. A Tarot Deck will be used to provide benefits and drawbacks throughout the course of play.
This is a game where you can really explore the conflict and community between two characters, in a situation where they can’t always communicate in a way they’d like. It doesn't demand an epic storyline but definitely has the space for it. This is also a great game for two people who have different and complimentary styles of play.
Dead Belt, by A Couple of Drakes.
Dead Belt is played by building a Belter and taking them out into the Belt to scavenge randomly-generated starships, using things you already have laying around: a six-sided die, a deck of common playing cards, and a few tokens of whatever sort happen to be close at hand.
With a dozen unique ship deck plans, over 100 flavorful prompts, and plenty of character stats to help you avert certain death, no two ships will ever feel the same. You’ll board these derelict starships, navigate barriers, dodge threats, monitor your air-supply, and salvage as you go.
You’ll deal with all the dangers lurking onboard these starships, push your luck, and finally return to spend your hard-won booty to secure better equipment, improve your skills, pay down your crippling debt, and hopefully, maybe, eventually set yourself up to live out your dreams far from the Belt.
There are three ways to play this game: Solo, Co-Op and Rivalry. This means that in a two-player game, you can choose to either work together or attempt to sabotage each-other in a race for pay. This game is an homage to Cowboy Bebop and similar Space Westerns, with a lot of tantalizing options designed for duet play.
Vaults of Vaarn, by graculusdroog.
Vaults of Vaarn is a 48-page, black and white tabletop RPG zine, which presents setting information, a full game system, and character creation procedure for adventures in Vaarn, a vast blue desert that lies at the very end of time. The game is built on the chassis of Knaveby Ben Milton, with lightweight rules, speedy character generation, and gameplay that emphasizes creativity and problem-solving on the part of players and referee.
This game setting feels like a space opera smashed together with acid fantasy, with bright colourful descriptions of strange monsters, NPC’s and locations. It is a dangerous setting that is designed to work with OSR games, primarily Knave but I have a feeling it would be pretty easy to steal ideas from this for other OSR systems as well. If you’re a fan of big space epics like Dune or weird futures like Numenera or Gamma World, this game is probably worth checking out.
If you want to see what the community has created for this setting, I recommend checking out the submissions to the Vaarn Summer Jam of 2022!
Nibiru, by Araukana Media.
Nibiru is a science fiction tabletop roleplaying game, set in a massive space station in a neighbouring solar system. Players take on the role of Vagabonds; people who woke up in the space station with no memories of their past.
Nibiru tackles themes of memory, nature and artificiality through simple mechanics, evocative art and immersive worldbuilding.
This is a game in which you create your character’s backstory as you play, filling in pieces of memory as you explore a space station filled with strange inhabitants and abandoned or deteriorating locations. The way you write about yourself will also fuel your character progression, with rewards for creativity and turning some of your memories into tools that you can use as you play. The setting is unique, evocative, and has a lot of potential to tell a compelling and heart-wrenching story.
If you want to see a bit of the game in action before buying it, there is a Quickstart Guide available on DriveThruRPG!

There is definitely a game for that!
Scion: Dragon.

Scion is an urban fantasy game without a masquerade keeping everything hidden from the normies. People know that Gods and Heroes walk the earth still, that walking down the wrong alley can get you jumped by ogres, and that if you’re (un)lucky, Thor will follow you on Nymphstagram.
The Gods and Titans continue to fight the Titanomachy, although these days it’s more of a Cold War. In the middle are the Dragons, who feel wronged by both side. The Dragons of old sat on hordes of gold (and many still do), but these days Dragons wealth comes from their vaults of secret information. They and they Heirs act as freelance spies and information brokers, working for whoever hires them while advancing their own agendas.
Draconic Heirs are roughly the same power as divine Heroes and start off as mostly human, but they become more and more Dragon-like over time. By the time Heroes ascend to the ranks of Demigods or Gods, Heirs are full-on scaled beasts running espionage networks of their own.

Finished this game, oooh boy... I loved this game Aaah. Been following this game since Start Again Prologue then In Stars And Time Announcement. Being a PKMN Fan, I wanted to span out new games. Playing other games before In Stars And Time. So I was excited to play this game On Switch and was real happy when I bought it on release day. ✨
In Star And Time Is Good and Unique Experience, The RPG And Battle System is real fun and neat, fun to learn. The characters are very adorable and good in their own way, I love em all. They have such nice designs aaah💖Gotta love the LGBQT+ And All. It was fun to try different and new things each loop!
Slowly getting snippets of Lore and the Game's Plot. The game's art is pretty even for a black and white world. The World building is pretty nice. The music is very good as well. It was fun to slowly figure things out even with a bit of guidance from our starry friend. I truly recommend this game for any rpg lovers or people wanting to try new games.

In Star And Time IMO is fun and time looping adventure RPG, Totally something for newcomers to experience themselves! 💕
Won't say much but the Ending is just fantastic. I hope this game gets the attention it deserves and needs! Now this game will be my new brainrot and I'll be in the rabbit hole of In Stars And Time, Craving to see more that being fanfics or art etc. ✨💕
I love all the characters, KsodosigSkmf Siffrin is my favorite, maybe because we play as them but I love their little wizard hat and cloak like design, always loved those kind of character designs and I love stars. But Siffrin and The Gang get some love from me💕

It won't hurt having a place to note stuff down to help remember the importance stuff down like lore or what to do next. GOOD LUCK Yall. 🌟
This game hurt me emotionally that it haunts my dreams /lh
Props And Kudos to InsertDisc5 and Armor Games Studios!✨🌟💕
slime rancher - game
i like farming games a lot or i gauss a better word for it is being a merchant. growing or exploreing spaces for things to sell, with slime rancher as you gessed you farm slimes lots of difrent kind. nun of the slimes feel difrent in the way you interact with them other then the phosphor slime, but evan that slime after you cuse the right space for them its kind of over. i do not think i played the game in the way that the game makers wanted me to but not in a nintendo way in witch they explisitly say they dont what you to do something. i did not intreact with the mail from all the chariters as thats not what i like to do in games. but what littiel i did read i did find the chickin guy funny. thare are some things that i did not like, i feel like i shoud be able to hold more then 4 things at a time i do like that by late game you can hold 100 of most things, my ps4 is a bit old i think i have had it sence midele school maybe older but becase of this some newer games if i run it for to long or have to many entatys in a game it can tend to crash and this happend rather often, in no way do i blame the game but i think its something you shoud keep in mind if you have a older console or its not that strong.
this is a good game not on my must play list but i think the flow of this game is rather aparent

So I just completed still wakes the deep and OH MY GOD THIS IS THE BEST FLATSCREEN HORROR GAME IVE PLAYED SINCE LITTLE NIGHTMARES IN 2018

Aaaaaahhhhhh I finished night in the woods and now sadge lol. It was a good game the ending was interesting and it turned dark real quick after going up to the mountain with angus and looking at constellations. Out of all the characters, the mom was my favorite she was so wholesome even after the fight Mae had with her. Small spoiler warning but,it was a little sad that when you finish the game it shows you the last drawing that Mae does of her angus and Greg and when you finish going through the credits, the game basically restarts and gives you the “start a new game” option. I wish you could keep the progress even tho there wouldn’t be much to do afterwards. Anyways I’ll leave this here good whatever time your reading this.

HEY!?!? ARE YOU A TOUCHSTARVED FAN?? IF YES THEN LISTEN
i would like to introduce to you...

THIS AMAZING GAME! its a dark fantasy ANDDD romance game, so thats why im reaching out to you. (touchstarved game freaks../j)
It has four protagonists, if i would describe them in a couple of words we would have:
1.Oleander(no i did not make this up ts fans this is literally his name): ooeeh rich rich man 😜
2.Cirrus: ah yes im just a humble priest with nothing suspicious about me yeah no absolutely not
3.Keir: sorry for lowkey kidnapping you, anyway ure kinda cool u wanna work for me 😊
4.Francesco(i thought his name was espresso when i started playing): the indomitable human spirit always wins! *gets stabbed*
the game currently has one chapter out and four routes with the protagonists, i would say the average play time is about 1 hour and 30 minutes? it depends on the person playing... ANYWAY uhm, i would really apreciate if you guys showed this game some love, i love love love love LOVEEE it and more people should know about it.
you can get it on here on itch.io or on steam!
Any recommendations for farming games - NOT STARDEW VALLEY - for an android phone?
I absolutely loved Scarlet Hollow, but now I’m bummed because it kind of ruined other visual novels for me. They just feel so much less responsive now.
Thank you so much! I don't know if you've played these, but there are many games out there with lots of responsive branching and dialogue you might like! Have you tried... Disco Elysium I Was a Teenage Exocolonist Pentiment (I haven't finished pentiment but i've gotten that Vibe) Beacon Pines Have I mentioned Disco Elysium my favorite video game?
Just to name a few! All of these games are more in the sphere of "adventure games" than strictly visual novels, but I also think that "visual novel" in practice should be a much looser term than the way people tend to apply it!
It's amazing, game does have lore, but it's more of an underneath lore. It's below the surface and you have to kinda look for it on top of receiving messages. Slime Rancher 2 is kinda like that too.
Basically, you can ranch slimes any style you like, you can be efficient, you can be lazy, anything you like, that's the whole fun of it! And you can actually free-range chickens in one of the zone on your ranch
As for stuff about SR(like arts, someone to discuss with, etc.) I'd recommend smaller groups bc a lot of small children and kinda weird(in a bad way) people play it, and they weird me out majorly, so personally - I prefer to stay out of huge groups and reddit (ᓀ ᓀ)
Also there's a nice comic I'm a mod in, I could recommend it too~
probably late to the party; found a cute game called "slime rancher"~~
it's about exploring a planet 1,000 light years away from earth~~ and creatures known as slimes that you.... uh...... stick in corrals and farm.... hence the name~~~
should I try to be as efficient as possible? or just chill and enjoy the game?
I have this problem with cozy games like this; like sprout valley, I'll try to be efficient with it, or just go way too hard on the grinding and burn myself out~~~
which isn't what cozy style games are for I'll take it....
they're chill and supposed to be fun and relaxing~~~
so why am I like this with these games? why do I go so hard and then burn myself out? I'm not chill, but I want to be~~~ chill, calm, enjoy the slower pace of the game~~~
how would you play most efficiently anyway? I just started the game before attempting to go to bed, and ended up on tumblr instead, lol.
Is an adorably cozy game tho and the pink slime and art style are adorable~~~
is there lore? no spoilers please~~~
what happens if I just free range the chickens and don't set up a corral for them?
