So, I, as predicted, have an obsession XD.
I'm getting really into the story of Love and Deepspace and becoming involved with understanding the lore and the timeline.
I am wondering if anyone would be interested in headcanon posts about LADS? I've been analyzing Zayne's story and memories like a psycho and I really have thoughts.
I might post a few preliminary headcanons or analyses to guage interest but idk...has anyone else played this game? It's lowkey pretty addicting.
Zayne: Starry Nocturne
After relistening to one of Zayne's Tender Moments, I have a few observations/headcanons about our beloved Dr:
TW: angst, mentions of death, nsfw implication
He's only serious when talking about work; even though he pretends to brush off ridiculous things you say, he really is listening and hanging on to every word.
Starry Nocturne seems to happen early on in your reconnecting, so I do not believe you and him are dating quite yet, but there is heavy interest in doing so
Zayne is the type of person to drop everything to make sure that you are well-fed and healthy - knowing that you made a list of food options for dinner warms his icy, stoic heart
He lowkey doesn't like the idea of you staying up and waiting for him. As a Hunter, he knows you work insane hours and wants you to get as much sleep as you need to function. You staying up to wait for him either in the friend-stage or in the romantic-stage worries him a bit. He knows he can go without some hours of sleep, but he doesn't want you to experience the same thing
You're literally like the only person he will listen to, no questions asked. Okay, technically, he will ask questions, but deep down he's going to say yes anyway. He just really likes playing cat-and-mouse with you. He appreciates when you can play along
Like he did in Starry Nocturne, early on in your relationship/friendship, Zayne will not be super direct about wanting to meet up with you. He wants you to be in control and for you to manage what you are comfortable with rather than feeling like he is telling you what to do. While he wants to do that in other settings - in your day-to-day, he's all about your comfort. Especially since you can't remember your past lives - he doesn't want to come off as too pushy
He is obviously super invested in Evol medecine and losing a patient to an Evol disorder is the most heartbreaking thing to happen to him at work because it always makes him think of you. He fears that one day, he will lose you on the operating table.

Zayne: Sweet Conspiracy
Headcanons from Sweet Conspiracy:
He covers you with his coat when he sees the blood to hide it, but also as an excuse to get close to you to assess any injuries. He knows the blood isn't from you or you would have been in more visible pain, but seeing you tainted with blood worries him sick. He sees enough blood and gore in his line of work, and he wishes he could protect you from the evils of the world
He walks to work when he needs to ground himself. He is constantly stressed at the hospital and we all know he takes very little time outside of work, unless you invite him out, of course. He likes walking with more than being alone, but he won't ever admit it out loud. You help him keep calm and give him a bit of positivity that he is often lacking.
He gave you the coat with the candies on purpose. He acts as if he didn't, but we know better. He likes knowing someone else shares his immense sweet tooth and likes to give you a bit of happiness wrapped in foil. (We know he always carries mints to share, but I definitely think he'd share other candies, especially if he knows you like them).
Seeing your post of his seal with the rainbow made him feel like he did in your past lives. He knows his curse and his fate, so he will savor any precious moments with you that he can. He dislikes that you thought he was poking fun at you a children and is happy his adoration can be seen now, even if you see it platonically.
Zayne is still not wanting to push your relationship any further than what you are comfortable. You've only been reunited for the past year-ish maybe or so (given that MC sees Dr. Zayne 6 months prior to the game's story beginning), and he wants to slowly make up for the lost time. He wishes that you guys could have continued growin up together and could have seen each other through school.
He loves when you tell him about your life. Yes, he comes off as stoic and nonchalant, but at the end of the day, when he's home, he fondly thinks of all the happy things you tell him.
He just wants to see you happy in any way that he can, whether that is with company or sweets.
Zayne: Heartstring Healer

Jealous!Dom!Zayne Headcanons:
Zayne's medical lectures are very important to him, of course, but seeing you at the lecture completely threw him off - for a few reasons, in fact
Firstly, Zayne's whole purpose of getting into Evol medecine as a cardiac surgeon was because of you. He'll never tell anyone, but seeing you made him flustered. He's passionate about his work but seeing the sole reason for his work makes it more personal than he likes. He wants his feelings out of work, but deep down, you're his motivaion for such a rigorous profession
He doesn't look at you during the lecture so he doesn't trip up. He has a public persona to maintain and you are the one person that always makes him trip up, but that doesn't mean he wasn't side-eyeing you from time to time. Due to his many years of loving you from afar, he has mastered looking at you when you don't notice. Hence, why he knew that guy was talking to you during the lecture.
That really made his blood boil. You're his. Not in a you're-an-object-and-have-no-autonomy way but more of a you're-his-best-friend-and-he's-literally-a-surgeon-to-try-and-stop-you-from-continuously-dying-way. He knows loving you is wrong, but he doesn't want to be right.
He loves playing cat-and-mouse with you. Zayne is definiely the type to let you think you have the upper-hand, but you don't. He knows how to chase you and take you by surprise.
Pulling you into his temporary office at the university made him incredibly horny. He loves having you close and pressed up against him, breathless and confused. Of course, he would never do anything you aren't comfortable with, but he likes the game. He would never cause you harm that wasn't asked for
Him asking "Should I be?" when you ask him if he's upset that another guy was talking to you is so dom! Zayne coded
He knows you wouldn't cheat or flirt with anyone else, but a part of him needs that level of reassurance (dom drop is very real and he appreciates you reciprocating his affection)
He looooves when you act like a brat
It activates a part of him that he often suppresses
He's so genle with you, but he knows when to be rough
He wouldn' actually give any other girl any attention besides you, but seeing you a bit jealous gets him going. It makes him feel wanted
He knows he wasn't there for a good portion of your life ater you two went your separate ways, so him askin about your "other patients" comes from a deep, sincere part of himself. He may have tried once or twice to go out with another girl, but knowing about the thousands of lives you two lived together made everyone else seem subpar. But, knowing that you dont remember those lives, he truly would never hold it against you for having dated or "experimented" with other people.
Him saying "you'll be punished" shows how feral he is underneath his composure. He seems like the type of person to bend you over his lap when you "misbehave" and spanks you accordingly. He likely is the type to count out how many he gives you (or make you count them out as an extra layer of punishment)
Part of him wanted to do that in his office at the university for surprising him ( as a "funishment" rather than punishment) to get you riled up, but he knew it would be too much noise. He wouldn't want to embarass you in front of those who had the misfortune of passing by his door
That forehead press is 100% an action he reserves for you, in every life
He wants your closeness, sexual or not. to him, you are peace. You are the calm that he needs.

Before taking you on a walk ouside to see the cherry blossm, he made sure you rode him to completion- for both yours and his pleasure
Definitely let you come first. He's a pleasure dom through and through and would never put you in a compromising position without your permission and would never leave you hanging. So I actually have a theory or two about this one, so bear with me
What if Zayne was the king who lost his wife to the heart condition?
Granted, this was meant to have aheppened in Ancient Egypt, but bear with me
What if one of Zayne and yours past lives was as Egyptian rulers? Maybe ones lost to history (thing Hapsepsut or Nefertiti who were only more recently accredited in history)
Or what if you were the queen and Zayne was a healer or servant for the king? He loved you, but for obvious reasons could not be upfront about it
He wanted to help the king save you, but couldn't
Or he was the king who drew himself mad trying to understand why you died
Or it could just be that this is a story so similar to yours that is captures Zayne's attention
Either he remembers this past life and how he did not have the medical knowledge or tools to save you and wants to learn from his past OR he's trying to take information from someone else's history to better understand yours
He's only brushing the surface of understanding Evol defects of the heart and the effects of core infusion to the heart, so either way, he wants to use this to better himself as a surgeon so he can ultimately save you
He's going against a literal god of the universe, but fuck it. He has seen you die a thousand times and for once, he wants to be able to stop it
Seeing you at the museum surprised hm, but delighted him nonetheless.
Offering to share his headphones was a bigger deal to him than he lets on, as he doesn't like sharing anything of his with others, but to you this was a friendly experience. He is okay with that.
He obviously doesn't sleep enough, hence him napping in a chair. What is rare, though, is him falling asleep in front of others. He likes to keep up his facade of being a put-together hard worker, but seeing you and being around you relaxed him so much, he couldn't help but feel the stresses from the past few days
He was a bit nervous about sharing his notebook with you, as he didn't know what you would think
Art students come in and draw exhibits at a museum as figure studies, but fewer people come in to draw an anatomically correct heart
Oh, how he wanted to tell you how many times in his life he has drawn a heart and all its individuals veins and arteries so that he can understand them. Understand his patients. Understand you. He wants to help anyone who comes under his medical care in any way possible
I still believe this in early on in your relationship, hence the lack of flirtiness on Zayne's part, but I think he is becoming a bit more comfortable with you at this point
He's letting you into his personal space: his earphones, his notebook, letting you tease him with his glasses, etc.
He wants more of these innocent moments, in any form he can have them

Okayyyy, this is by far one of my favorite dates of Zaynes. He is so gentle dom! coded and I love it
When he's worried about you bringing a gun, it isn't because he doesn't think you can handle yourself - it's that for a moment he thinks you're becoming scared of the world around you. Wanderers are obviously an ever-present threat, but he wants you to feel safe, whether or not he is around

I read somewhere that Zayne's tie is a metaphor for his composure (I really want to try to find the post again, if anyone knows please help, I want to give this absolute genius credit) and him loosening it is him letting loose, yes, but he's also putting away his facade some.

He's a doctor, so he really doesn't like seeing anyone hurt, but when it's you, someone he cares about? That's gut-wrenching for him
your bruise definitely wasn't that bad, but it made him think of all the worst injuries you've had and could have due to being a Hunter, him icing it was for your comfort, but also his ease of mind
He wants to be your caretaker - not in the sense that you can't take care of yourself (he's very proud of you for being able to), but Zayne is the type of person that doesn't feel he is doing the most he can if he isn't needed
With all the lives he has lived and the tragedies he has seen you go through in your lives, he wants to be a caretaker so that he can feel like it is helping to change your fate

I don't necessarily think you guys are dating just yet at this point, but Zayne is definitely putting his foot out there
Calling you out for lying? This man's dom foot is halfway into your door - he wants you to be honest, as I've said, and he wants to offer you comfort

He's definitely the type of doctor that would start prescribing sleeping pills to regulate your schedule if he realized you've fucked it up with overworking. He would probably write a note saying you needed to be on work restrictions (probably designated to office work only) until further notice. He knows how valuable work can be, but he also knows what the body needs is more important
You weren't "too noisy" at the hospital...yes, you talk significantly more than him, but he hates seeing you come in. As your physician, he knows that when he sees your name on his list of appointments, it's bad. Seeing you hurt makes him hurt. He's already worried about your heart on a daily basis, he doesn't want to have to worry about anything else (he will anyway)
He doesn't pull you by the collar hard, but just enough to keep you in place
His more "dom" side, I suppose I would say, comes out when he wants to keep you close. Especially, at a time like this when you're cold and unprepared for the weather. Truthfully, he would've just given you the umbrella and let himself freeze, but he knew you would've just given it back. He just wants you to be comfortable

So, I know there isn't much shown of Zayne's apartment in Love and Deepspace as of yet, but there are a couple snippets shown that interest me!

OKAY, SO
we know Zayne is a simple guy
let's be honest, he more than likely lives in the office than his actual residence
so I think his minimalism reflects that a bit. In his office we can see work piles put in order but it still looks more lived in
it definitely does now that you go in there and nap on the couch (he always makes sure there is a blanket and a pillow)
but his actual apartment is very clean, sterile, honestly
he knows how to decorate, he just doesn't
he's a doctor...the man has $$$, so you know he has some very expenive items in his apartment
he prefers to spend time at your place because he finds it homey, but on the occasion you guys do spend time at his place, he moves things around
he won't admit it, but when he is anticipating your arrival, he does more around the place
it's no longer just work , sleep, and repeat
he gets out the wine glasses he bought 2 years ago and hasn't used
he cooks that recipe he's had tabbed for months
he lays a blanket for when you inevitably get cold
Zayne is the type to really make an effort to make you comfortable
He knows it's not your home (yet *wink*), but he wants to create a comforting environment
to him, his apartment is a place that he goes when he's not at work
to you, it's a home away from home
and he wants it to be that way
he'll decorate for the holidays if you say his place is too dreary
he'll take your opinion into account if you say he should get flowers to liven up the dining area
he definitely has plants, but he's more fond of Monsteras and and Jasmine, but if you say peonies would be a nice addition, he's running to the florist immediately
his place is very high class and fancy due to his financial situation, but he always wants it to be a place you feel like coming to
he wants it to be a space where you know that you can use the spare key he gave you and come in to crash after a mission
sleep on the couch or the bed, eat the food he's prepared - just take care of yourself

I LOVE 30 Days to Love but I just can’t play their newest stories anymore! 😭 It’s not like they’re bad or anything I just can’t get over Hajin from Laws of Attraction. Like this man had me thinking about him every moment of the day. I CRIED OVER HIM TOO!
Anyways since starting the newest story Butterfly Effect I can’t pick who I like and my brain keeps think “Hajin wouldn’t do that” or “Hajin would have done this instead”. I KNOW he’s just a character but stilllllllll! I just don’t really like any of the new guys but maybe when I get deeper in the story I’ll find one of their personalities attractive.
