I’ve been art blocked
I am dubbing this creative status “everything block”
i really want to post and create more art that isn’t my normal style/arts/themes but it’s kinda daunting.
yk making ‘paintings’ and lineless and render and shade, really work and stretch my style and characterization.
add themes that are real and human, sex and gender and love but also hate and pain and scars and fear.
i think i’ll get there soon, but i’m busy with finals atm. and i have been weirdly aversive to any type of art, i haven’t been able to finish month-old art projects that i was absolutely thrilled to create.. i don’t want to even pick up my stencil or plug in my tablet to draw.
same with my written work too.. i barely want to open docs to write or even read anything.
I wish I had something interesting to post on here but I am ascience girl instead of a creative girl so I can find out what the radius of an electrons orbit will be when it enters a magnetic field but I can't come up with an original thought to save my life.

Ive been so demotivated to draw it’s actually so annoying bc i have the ideas and i have the references but i just cant bring myself to finish anything that i start

WRITING EXERCISE 101
Do you want to write visually? Do you want to write your scenes descriptively AND not get your readers bored? Do you envy the authors whose work are so indulging even if it doesn't have a fun storyline or too much dialogues? If yes, me too.
While surfing through the internet about it, I couldn't find much help. So I had no option but to devise my own practice method. And I swear on Aaron Blackford and my other fictional boyfriends, IT WORKS MAGIC.
So..... one article I found was going on and on about, think like a screenwriter, see like a poet, paint with words etc etc, and I remember thinking-- only if it was this easy.
In this method all you need is, still picture from any of your favorite movie or show (better if it is in the same genre as your WIP) and a blank document open. You don't need to think so hard like a scriptwriter or see things from a poet's perspective if you're not one yourself.
You open the picture on one side of your device and open your document on the other, and you describe exactly word by word about what YOU see. You can even refer to the context of the movie in that scene or maybe make up a new one by yourself.
Don't try to force in poetic devices if you can't think of any at that moment.
Instead, when you'll later read that piece of text again, i promise, you will get a rush of new and better ideas.
Practice this a few more times and the next time when you'll start to work on your WIP, you'll have a much better and clearer idea of what you AND your reader want to have there.

Creative Block
hey so creative block sucks serious ass.
It's been ever since May I've had serious creative block. Can't write for shit can't draw for shit.
But I think that's coming to an end.
I've finally made progress, real provress, on my ongoing fic on Ao3, The Criminal Life. I've written 4,000 words in the past week, and that's just for one chapter. The chapter's I've been posting have been 2.5k words. So yeah, going above and beyond on this chapter.
I also have finally started drawing again, making things I'm actually proud of, and will be posted soon.
I've also even made progress on my plans for D&D 5.5e, which I'll talk about in a seprate post later.
So for everyone dealing with creative block rn, remember there's hope at the end of it. The internet can be a hopeless quagmire of shit sometimes, so I'm posting this to add just a bit of encouragement to everyone dealing with block.
It'll end eventually. You need to take a break sometimes. You'll be making better stuff once you're on the other side.
