Anti Tony Stark - Tumblr Posts
imagine coming out of an ice-induced, 70 year coma then being hired by the us government to fight aliens and one of your coworkers was the most insufferable, entitled billionaire who constantly made jokes about your past without knowing anything about you and you weren’t allowed to knock him out bc it’d be an HR nightmare.. yea i’d start jumping out of planes without a parachute too

I don’t really like to post negative stuff, but like I really struggle to understand why people actually like Tony Stark.
Even discounting a lot of his shadier stuff, like selling weapons and essentially war profiteering which happens pre and during Iron Man 1, he does some pretty shady stuff. One of the things that still leaves a sour taste in my mouth is the whole Peter Parker thing in Civil War.
I wasn’t a Tony Anti when Civil War came out. In fact I actually liked him at the time, but the scene where Tony locks the door when he’s trying to recruit a 15 year old Peter really made me feel anxious, mostly because it mirrored a not so pleasant memory for me.
Also the fact that Tony uses Peter’s anxiety about telling aunt May about his powers to blackmail him into fighting team cap in Germany, and then essentially abandons him afterwards? Yeah that’s not good.
Tony was never a father figure to Peter, he simply used the kid like a tool against Steve and threw him away once the fight was done, because that’s how Tony has learned to treat people, like objects to be thrown away once he has no more use for them.
Canon MCU Tony stark slander always here to bring a smile to my face!! I (sometimes) hate how much the blatant abuse of power is used against MCU peter parker, and how tony stark never has any accountability for use a 14 year old child as a soldier when he needs it but as soon as his fancy new tony isn't useful any more as long as it's not causing trouble and major property damage he doesn't care. While I can enjoy irondad and spiderson content I hate how no one talks about how badly Tony Stark is to peter parker in CW and HC. I hate when people make anti steve and pro accords stuff when tony was wrong in the comics and like the US behind all the propaganda has a lot wrong going on.
It's one of the things that bugs me about when people talk bad about MCU Peter Parker; He didn't want to go to Germany, He was blackmailed by Tony Stark.
i just wanna see a fic where peter realizes ‘oh hey so toby stark fycking ghosted me for several months after blackmailing me into fighting a team of experienced fighters and literally everything wlse that happened in homecoming and rgats not okay’ and also what the accords actually are bc i wanna see him go ballistic coz the accords are fuckimg jorriblw and i hate them
yes it is 2 in the mirning shut up
Does anyone else just hate when people act like Tony Stark was such a great person or is it just me?
Civil War AU where someone actually tells the 14 year old what's going on, like real details about the situation not just "them guys wrong, we right", and Peter defects like he does in the comics
it’s hilarious that people think that anyone in the ant-man crew needs tony for anything in this universe when there are fully capable human beings out there who can do the same thing but without the attitude.
they already have a quantum suit. they already have an engineer. they already have a quantum physisis. they already have a bunch of highly trained thieves. they already prove that they can work well together.

Steve dealing with casualties vs. Tony dealing with casualties
the awkward moment when
all your friends are tony stark stans and sulk in a corner when u explain that he sucks
i was talking to my friends about the disgust i felt when tony joked about rape and was blatantly sexist and homo/transphobic and the tony stan was sitting in a corner, sulking about ‘when did that even happen ur just making stuff up.’
girl.

‘i’ll send you a bar of soap’
“Speaking about manned or unmanned, you gotta get him to tell you about the time he guessed wrong. It’s spring break, just remember that. Spring break 1987, that lovely lady, what was his name? Was it Ivan?” - ESPECIALLY since at that time, don’t ask don’t tell was still a thing. fuck you, tony
not to mention the murder bot he created after specifically being told not to
his goddamn nazi rant in endgame when he was like ‘who cares about precious freedoms’
his empire of wealth built on the blood of middle eastern children
the entire womanizer shtick + the fact he expects pepper to baby him
shot sam for no reason.
tried to murder bucky.
locked his friends in the literal fucking RAFT.
belittling steve constantly after steve had his entire life ripped away from him.
and that’s not even the half of it!
The argument I see way too often from Tony stans is the "you just don't like him because he is realistic" which...I know. I know there are bunch of men who get away with ton of shit just because they're rich, white and men. I know there are misogynistic people, sexualising every girl they come across. I know there are people being homophobic, sexist, transphobic and never getting called out. I know there are men telling rape jokes 'cause "it's just a joke". I know there are rich men drowning in their toxic masculinity harming everyone around them. And guess what? I don't like them either. I know Tony Stark is realistic, and that's why he is dangerous. I don't really care if you like Tony, I don't care if he is your favorite character. What I have issue with is anyone condoning his behavior that shouldn't be condoned. I don't care if he is your favorite character, you need to acknowledge that some of the shit he does, is not okay. And to those who say "it's just a movie" it's not. It's media, and media affects reality. If you don't think that the men like Tony, when seeing him being glorified, wont follow his footsteps because it's 'cool', I don't know what to say. There are too many people like Tony Stark. Saying okay to him, is saying okay to every other asshole like him. You can like his character, and call out the faults of creating characters like him. Tony is realistic. I know. And I hate it.

How would an omega mutant lose to a tin can? Storm could fry his ass using a lighting bolt with her pinky and iron man would be over.
Mcu stans need to get serious for once in their lives.
Tony Stark comes to coerce Peter into coming to the Germany fight. Peter does not want to go to Germany. Lucky Matt shows up to let Tony know Peter’s not going anywhere with him.
This is the sequel to We Got That Concrete Thick Skin tho it could be read as a stand alone.
I’m increasingly realizing that almost all of my opinions about fictional characters revolve around the version of them I have in my head.
Example: I like D*an W*nchester, but ONLY the version of him I have in my head, because canon D*an is basically the embodiment of toxic masculinity. The version in my head is able to learn from his mistakes and, y’know, emote and doesn’t treat everyone in his life like utter crap.
Counterexample: I hate T*ny St*rk, because the version of him in my head is a complete capitalist asshole with no character development. Now, I think that T*ny in canon probably has a deeper character than that, but that’s how he exists in my head.
So anyway I just think it’s interesting and important to realize that when I’m reading criticisms and opinions about characters I love or hate, that the characters others are talking about may not line up with the characters in my head.
Quick disclaimer: I haven’t paid any attention to canon Supernatural since like 2017, and I’ve forgotten most of what actually happens. So maybe D*an isn’t as bad as I remember but based on gifs and opinions I’ve seen, he’s pretty much an asshole.
he wasn’t afraid of them dying, he was afraid of being blamed for it
twitter is defending tony stark by saying he must have a heart because his worst nightmare in AOU was everyone on the team dying
well if he was so afraid of them dying why didn’t he pay them living wages?

i mean...you could draw closer comparisons between t*ny and walker. both driven to attempted murder over the deaths of someone they loved. both trying to hurt people who weren’t directly responsible for their loved ones’ murders. both seeking revenge and spiraling out of control. and yet some of the same people who are calling walker out are those who said t*ny was in the right in siberia. the only real difference is that walker actually succeeded.
pick a side.

wtf is that parallel ?! walker killed a man, steve disabled tony’s suit
???
baffling that i’m still seeing tonkies say that “t*ny wasn’t trying to kill bucky!!!1!!!1! his suit is too ultra mega powerful, if he was trying to kill him he would have uwu” when the filmmakers of cw have said that he was trying to kill bucky
like who do you think you should believe, your imaginary version of t*ny where he’s A Good Person or the people who actually worked on the movie
also literally just watch the movie, he aims missiles at bucky’s face at least twice and you can bet your ass he wouldn’t have survived if they had hit
I'm still very confused about how would Steve know about the truth of who killed Tony's parents.
People say the in the end of the first Cap movie, the last scene, it was hinted that he'd know. But I seriously don't remember that
And even when Steve worked for SHIELD, not even them know who actually was the Winter Soldier, and when Steve figured who it was, all the files from SHIELD were already released by Natasha. So if Steve knew, Tony would also know. Because they'd have access to same files, and everybody knew Bucky Barnes from the WWW2
So, how would Steve know? Canonically, within all the movies?
I think the scene you are referring is the one in the former SHIELD hideout in that one abandoned military complex Steve and Natasha go to. While talking to Zola, who boasts about Hydra having influenced internationally important events, there's a monitor that shows a bunch of pictures in quick succession. One of them was an article about Howard and Maria Stark's death in a car crash. The problem is... it's blink and you miss it. I watched the movie several times and you only recognise it if you pause. I never did that. That's why Steve's confession that he knew about Bucky killing Tony's parents came at a total surprise to me. I even thought that Steve was lying to divert Tony's anger from Bucky to himself. I only came upon a post about this one scene months later and realistically, I don't know how Steve was supposed to see this headline about Howard dying and immediately conclude that Bucky was the one who killed him. Maybe I'm not remembering the conversation right, but it just didn't make sense to me for the longest time. Now I know that the Russos simply needed to sow some conflict for Civil War. Which is why Steve does something that seems so out of character for him.
You are right that logically, Tony definitely should have known the truth about his parents' murder. As long as the Winter Soldier files were uploaded along with all the others. I don't really remember if they were, however, so I'd be grateful if someone else could chime in and clear this up for us. In this scenario, Tony could have easily found out the truth, if he bothered to have one of his AIs sort through the material, at least. And if he didn't then… that's kind of on him. Steve could have easily believed that Tony knew all along and still taken the blame in the hopes of distracting Tony from Bucky. But Steve antis are so focused on blaming Steve for every wrong ever committed in the MCU (and comics) that we can't have that discussion.
reminder rdj literally threatened to walk from cap 3 because he didn’t have enough screentime (aka not make enough money from it) and didn’t like how tony would be portrayed and after they did major rewrites had the audacity to call it iron man 4 in interviews
