@awanderingdreamer11 Rhys abused feyre more lmao. You are the immature clown here sweetie and you're embarrassing. Crawl back to your pro Rhys tags while we make fun of your ignorance lol

INCONSISTENT FEYRE

INCONSISTENT FEYRE

1.) Tamlin asked her if she wanted a title.

2.) She specifically said she didn’t want to be called High Lady.

3.) the following conversation was Tamlin just telling her that there hasn’t been a High Lady but only Lady of Whatever Court. How exactly does the fandom turn this around and demonize Tamlin for not giving her the title when he literally asked and she said NO. Not that they got to that point anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️

What the fuck did I just read? All you Rhys stans do is defend your precious Rhyass. At least Tamlin stans admit to his wrong actions. You Rhys stans literally excuse Rhyass by invalidating feyre lmao. You are not adding anything intelligent to this conversation. You are just immature and whiny with a stick up your ass

and the thing is, even if i didn’t absolutely loathe the pairing with the force of a thousand suns and would happily burn any memory of it away, i can’t picture them together, they’re inherently incompatiple.

i can see feyre with lucien, tarquin, jurian, mor, cassian, azriel, cresseida, hell, even eris, albeit in a very, very, strange universe, but i can’t see her with rhys.

i can see rhys with tamlin (this is practically canon anyway), nesta, cassian, azriel, lucien (feyrhycien exists), elain, but i can’t see him with feyre.

they have no shared interests and have nothing very little in common. the way they’re canonically written, is just trauma bonding, feysand is just victim x abuser. and dare i say, actually no, saying it my full chest:

RHYS GROOMED HER

every time rhys has needed to use feyre for something, every time he has placed her in dangerous situations, you know what he says? “you’re strong, nothing can break you” or something along those lines. it’s very much 16 yo high school girl meets junior college boy and they get together to the protest of everyone in the girl’s life, but she won’t listen because college boy has successfully manipulated her into staying by telling her she’s ‘mature’. ew ew ew ew ew ew

Back on my bullshit again.

I recently found this gem in a tumblr comment-section:

Back On My Bullshit Again.

(I censored the names bc I'm German and all, and because we don't want to hate on people here, it's just their statements.)

I'm honestly not totally sure how to word my thoughts on this.

It's giving 'How dare former colonies be angry with the British, who hoard their cultural assets and exhibit them in museums?'

How dare Tarquin be angry at Feyre and Rhysand for coming to his Court, allegedly to form an alliance and befriend him in a way, only to decieve him and steal what is most likely his most valuable artifact?

I have a huge problem with that arc in maf in general, because what the fuck was that? Tarquin was nothing but welcoming towards them, and if they had properly explained to them what their agenda was- which you do if you want people to trust you, I'm convinced he would have given it to them.

But no, it's easier to act like you want to screw him and gain his trust with sob stories and flirting and whatnot and then just steal the book from him, nearly kicking the bucket in the process.

And why is he still angry in ACOWAR? Because he has the right to be! If someone came to your home and acted like your friend, and then stole one of the most valuable, if not the most valuable thing you own. Would you not be angry? Even if they helped you after, in another situation.

And let's be real, if this happened to the NC, whoever would have stolen from them in that hypothetical situation, would've ended up being vilified for the rest of the series.

Tarquin "insulting" Feyre is btw the following exchange:

Back On My Bullshit Again.
Back On My Bullshit Again.

This is the first time Tarquin speaks in acowar. Honestly? This is hardly insulting. This is literally stating facts. It's not talking down or belittling, he's just pointing out the consequences of what she canonically did.

And side note: Pretty sure he doesn't want Feyfey after that stunt she pulled.

In general, acting like Tarquin is whipped for her is pretty delulu. I'm not gonna deny that he may have found her attractive during maf, before she went "burglar" on him, but after that? No way.

Me three years ago : reading acotar and not finding entertaining most of the protagonists. For some reason liking Nesta but too afraid to say bc I will get judged too harshly.

Me now :literal hoe for Nesta. Talking about her to my non reading friends, finding people who like her too and feel happy for her for getting her own book.

I feel like we won a war or something.

Rhysand said "it's your choise Feyre" and the fans were like "RHYSAND IS SUCH A FEMINIST"

Lmao the bar is so low.

The very existence of the Inner Circle removes all the nuance from the ACOTAR books.

One of the big things that allows for such nuance in a story is perspective. It’s allowing people to have different thoughts and ideas, mixed in with their own personal experiences to create a complex setting.

Except that this can never happen in the ACOTAR books because every time someone has an opinion or perspective that goes against the Inner Circle, they’re either outright written out of it and contradicted or completely vilified to make all their opinions seemingly irrelevant and ridiculous.

This series refuses to allow any nuance in its story for that reason, and it’s a major factor in why it’s difficult to argue about complexities in this story.

I feel that the High Lord Meeting is a great example of this.

We’re constantly told throughout the books that everyone hates Rhysand because of the mask he wears for the world. Then we finally meet the High Lords and it’s like… it’s not hard at all for them to forgive him for his crimes. Even if he didn’t kill the Winter children, that doesn’t excuse all the other horrible things he did while working for Amarantha. The same thing happens with Tarquin + Feysand’s crimes against him. All it takes is knowing they came to Summer to help him against the attack FEYRE caused for him to rescind the red rubies.

Meanwhile, Tamlin — the guy who took in refugees from their Courts, spent decades sacrificing his sentries’ lives and his own sanity to try and break the curse, and overall just doing whatever he can with the limited power he had — isn’t given a fucking INCH over the Inner Circle. It’s so illogical in the grand scheme of things that the other characters just don’t even have a realistic perspective in all of this. Their characters don’t make any sense to the point that they’re just caricatures meant to further the pro-IC agenda.

I really think that Tamlin in general is a better person than Rhysand. And I could name a million reasons for why I came to that assessment, but I feel like that perhaps one little instance explains it best.

After everything that happened between Tamlin, Rhysand and Feyre, Tamlin could still find it in himself to revive Rhysand and even wish for Feyre to become happy.

We’re talking about the man that killed his mother unprompted and the woman that destroyed his entire court and thereby exposed them to the invasion of Hybern.

Meanwhile, we have Rhysand, who comes to Tamlin's court unprompted, sees this traumatized, beaten person who’s already lost so much, and what does he do? He tells Tamlin to k*ll himself. 😀 Like? Is this really someone we should be rooting for? Telling a depressed person to commit? After said person literally revived you?

I genuinely think that Rhysand would have never revived Tamlin, and I think that’s all you need to know about the two of them. It should tell you who’s the bigger person really.
