How do you think the twins (like all of them in SGE) would act in real life?

I'm not sure if I'm interpreting your question correctly, so you can correct me if I'm wrong! I will take the ask to mean that you'd like to know how I think they would they adjust to our modern world, not necessarily them in a Modern AU. (Also, would you like me to include Castor and Pollux? I'm not sure if I'd have an immediate response for them, but I'll try to think of something, if you'd like me to.)

Sophie and Rise Rhian would probably embrace modern conveniences, and Rhian would likely exhibit more fear than Sophie would, in response to them, or he'd conceptualize things like electricity, for instance, as a just another form of sorcery. They would both appreciate modern cosmetics and technology, and Sophie would probably never want to return to old, backward ways when the future is so pristine and sanitary. Rhian, however, would mourn the great architectural feats of our past and our obsession with pragmatism and designs purely focused on utility. Unfortunately, I could see them being prone to believing absurd, medical/political conspiracy theories, and their germophobia becoming worse.

Agatha, Rafal, TCY Rhian, and Japeth would be more skeptical about modernity, at first, I think. Agatha would probably grow used to it, but continue to live by her old ways and values, in many cases. She might get into environmentalism, humanitarian causes, or antiwar efforts, etc. If either Rafal, Rhian, or Japeth saw a use or benefit to modern technology and ways of life, they would likely adapt, especially if it could get them something they desperately wanted. Rhian would probably use some form of broadcasting or social media frequently—and eventually get cancelled. I could also see Rafal or Japeth trying to radically change or impact the modern world if it provoked them. Japeth could go down the activism route (if it's in regards to his being gay), but I can't see him being that selfless about others' rights, others who have nothing to do with him, and I can't come up with any modern objects or activities that might appeal to him. Maybe, he'd even disavow modern technology, if it proved it weren't a means to getting Aric back. In addition, I could also see Rafal being incredibly rude in commanding voice-operated devices, and refusing to entertain the trivial, human-like gestures machines are programmed to recite, like greetings, and he would rarely use "please" and "thank you" in his commands. He'd have no patience for small talk or manufactured, repetitive, pleasantness because it's just a machine, and he'd be damned if a machine expected more respect from him than any human subordinate ever would! And, he'd get irrationally offended by certain output before he realized why things did what they were preprogrammed to do, such as give simple-minded answers that could appear to be an insult to his intelligence and common sense, as, a machine couldn't know his identity. After all, machines aren't capable of being hostile like Adela Sader was. So, eventually, he'd learn. Also, getting automated or human directions from the bodiless voices of intercom systems, at self-checkout lines, or on public transportation would probably infuriate him because he's so used to being the greatest authority at all times. Why abide the law when you can keep above it?

The story of the Australian white ibis is hysterical in many ways.

The Story Of The Australian White Ibis Is Hysterical In Many Ways.

These birds are native to Australia, yes, but they're not technically native to the cities. Or, well, kinda?

So, Australian ibises typically lived in inland wetland areas. Australia, however, is a dry-ass continent, and the swamps aren't always wet, so whenever there's a dry spell and the swamps dry up and the food dwindles, the ibis colonies will migrate to the coast for food. I suppose when their presence caused enough competition with existing coastal birds they'd fly back inland and hopefully the wetlands would be wet again.

Enter the Europeans - the ibis didn't have much contact with the white man for a hundred years or so, wetlands were too annoying to actively clear, so the white man mostly stayed out and the ibis generally doesn't leave while there's food. Or maybe they did, and the white man towns were too tiny to register for them and they just did their usual thing.

Come the 1970s, severe drought conditions once again led to ibises to flee the wetlands (and the wetlands were probably extra hurt and extra unable to recover due to water diversion for agriculture).

They went for the coasts, and there, due to the absolutely boom in Australian urban sprawl, they found....

The Story Of The Australian White Ibis Is Hysterical In Many Ways.

Huh. That's new. But was there food?

The answer was yes there was, and not only that, it was almost like the food set out specifically for them!

I am of course talking about bins.

The Story Of The Australian White Ibis Is Hysterical In Many Ways.

Bins have a couple of nifty features if you're an ibis. One, they contain food scraps, especially protein scraps. Two, the openings tend to be fairly far off the ground, so rats and other flightless creatures can't get to the food (the cockroaches can, which is a plus for the ibis because they eat bugs!)

Two, the bottoms are low, and ibises are wading birds so they have long legs and long beaks. Seagulls, crows and pigeons all have to wait for the bin to be fairly full - ibises can get in there at half full!

And three, natural environment for the ibis is diving into a fetid stagnant swamp with nasty bacteria to eat wriggling things. Their beaks and heads are specially adapted for that - they're bald, and the skin is specially adapted for diving into gross places. Their beaks are sharp and dextrous, so they can open packaging or simply pierce it to get at the tasty, tasty leftover fried chicken or whatever. And if the chicken's already got maggots? Fantastic, they love eating bugs.

So they don't wanna go back. Why the hell would they go back? And with every new drought, even more ibis leave the drying wetlands, find the cities, and decide to stay.

I mean, there's probably a selection effect - the birds that are scared of humans eventually return to their home wetlands, but the ones that aren't decide they're just gonna start nesting in the urban parks. Wetlands are also getting drier and drier (water use issues) so the wetland populations are crashing while the urban populations are exploding.

I think, the bin chicken has to be a symbol of luck. It is so insane to me that the human-designed environment ended up being an ibis paradise, where we've systematically murdered all their enemies and established abundant self-replenishing food sources that they and only them can access.

May you be as lucky as the Australian white ibis. May you leave your normal life for foreign shores and face not the expected adversity, but instead abundance and safety beyond your wildest dreams.

The Untold Story of Japan's First People
In the 20th century, Japanese anthropologists and officials tried to hide the existence of the Indigenous Ainu. Then the Ainu fought back.

Yet some examples that show that traditional or not, cultures don’t necessarily die, but they evolve with the times. In fact, cultures live on by adapting to the times (including the modern), & the Ainu culture is doing just that especially after the recognition of the group. In light of the old ways dying, may the new Ainu ways make way for use while old ways be preserved. Either way, may the tongue be taken with the other cultural facets for modern timing.

Have You Ever Wondered Why Some People Live Much Longer While Supposedly Intelligent People Wither And

Have you ever wondered why some people live much longer while supposedly intelligent people wither and die early? My parents are a case in point. My Dad admittedly was much smarter than my mom. But these days Dad is overweight while mom is slim, he has difficulty walking while she goes salsa and tango dancing and can climb the roof, he can barely cook after 75 years of living, while she can cook amazing meals, he is a dangerous driver while mom drives like a race car driver, with speed and precision that would shame a thirty year old. She loves gardening while he just drinks wine and sits in front of the computer all day or sleeps. Mom got a degree in business after all three kids left home and continues to study and get many qualifications. She has had over 35 different jobs and is pretty impressive on a computer. She runs her own company, does all the accounting, the marketing, administration and manages a staff of 18. And she keeps a beautiful home. Lately she has got a piano and is banging away at it. She is adaptable and constantly changes. Not a week goes by without her trying something new, whether it is food, clothes, reading a book or buying a new gadget. She is always nosing around us children, finding out what we up to, copying what we are doing and borrowing our ideas. The idea for the Cinnamon Vogue company came from mom, because when she was visiting Sri Lanka she came across Cinnamon oil being used at a hotel. She asked for a sample, but they refused. Never one to give up she managed to visit a Cinnamon farm in Sri Lanka, got it and brought it back to the USA and gave me, her prodigal son the idea. I know I know I need to work on modesty. Lol. But I am willing to bet mom will live much longer than Dad and will have far less health complications if any. Now I believe mom is much smarter than Dad. Maybe she started with less neurons than Dad but over the years through the ability to try various foods that increase neurons, being adaptable, flexible, active, curious, the number of neurons in her brain far exceeds Dad. I am sure of it. And touch wood her health is very good. Nothing is more depressing than a parent whose health has gone down the tubes. Will you change? Can you change? Are you adaptable?
