banri worries me soooo much he’s such a silly guy <33 like? this kid’s forearms were constantly peppered with tiny nicks and scrapes for 4 straight years of his life. during his first year at mankai his hands, specifically his knuckles, were always bruised. he still has scars. there’s a big one that traces a line across his right shoulder blade. his sister dressed that one. she didnt say anything when he shuffled into her bedroom, and he didnt say anything when she started crying. she never told on him. he didnt have to ask her not to. that scar is the one that healed the best.

first year at mankai, omi almost wanted to cry when he saw this little kid who reeked of tobacco when he snuck back inside at 4:15 am. how he had habit of going to lifting an arm to cover his face when someone yells. how he flexes his hand in a strange way when he walks past someone holding a knife, even a black rubber prop. practically all of akigumi have noticed something that scared them. juza. how often would he’d bite his tongue, keep secrets without being asked, because he knew banri trusted him to? this high school boy who set his jaw when the movies they watched had fight scenes in them. how he set his jaw in the same way when watching a romantic one. how he postures his shoulders different when he goes out with izumi, or the younger kids. hell, even with azuma and tsumugi. banri who always walks smack in the middle of a hallway so he can see if someone is rounding the corner on any side. [taichi has developed a habit of tapping the toe of his slipper into the floor every now and then when he’s walking around late at night. as much as he doesnt want sakyo to catch him, that split second look banri gave when taichi accidentally snuck up on him, that unsettling mix of fear and reflexive anger and intensity. god. he’d take sakyo over that any day]. when banri offers his jacket to izumi when she forgets hers, he knows she doesnt miss him quickly emptying his pockets. nor does she miss the light scent of tobacco that mixes with his expensive ass cologne. he is grateful while they’re outside she only gives him a look when she pulls up the collar of his jacket. its the wordless ‘we’re going to have this conversation. you aren’t getting out of it. later, after dinner. i’ll find you, don’t worry.’ and he gave her a look when she said she still felt her hands reflexively go into her pocket for her lighter every now and then.

she helped him quit. bless that damn annoying woman, his director. she helped him. and, of course, in the weirdest way settsu had ever heard. izumi offered to buy his cigarettes from now on. she’d help him cut down. he just had to swear to only smoke the ones she bought. he kept his word. she kept hers. by the end of year 2 he was done. and he pretended not to see when izumi got teary-eyed as he handed back the last handful of loosies.

ideal tenma and juza dynamic for me is tenma trying to befriend juza and juza being awkward abt it until tenma is like oh nooooo. this is bc I’m famous… im Not Normal… ig someone like juza probably thinks I’m pompous and annoying…. and when they actually talk abt it juza reveals that he thinks tenma is far too nice a person to be friends with him and tenma is just like. me. too nice? too nice??? THATS YOU!!! and then they end up being the kind of friends that are like really supportive of each other?

idk. i feel like in some ways both juza and tenma struggle with like self-image and like ideal selves / masculinity—juza with his love of sweets and his hatred of his “image” as a scary guy, yet also thinking it’s better to conform to that bc why try otherwise…. tenma with his self-perception of himself as a movie star but like also someone who until recently was friendless and without tact and didn’t really have any close personal relationships and felt so insecure about his improv acting that he went and joined mankai. he’s definitely got a perfectionist streak too (and I do imagine like, his fright concerning ghosts and stuff is like. ok it’s very funny but I imagine it’s kind of relieving to be in a space where ppl laugh at him but aren’t necessarily critiquing or demeaning him? as someone who has probably had his entire self written abt by movie/tv critics etc to hell and back) i kind of feel like they’d have that singleminded intensity of approaching things? juza w/ acting and like tenma w/ being a troupe leader—genuinely one of my fav moments of summer troupe is tenma out there being like “sakuya said we should all sleep together!!! then we’ll Bond!!!” bc it’s just so delightfully earnest and bullheaded at the same time?

So, I actually finished the confession scenario and had it fully edited before I realized you asked for a first date as well, so I ended up just doing the confession, I’m so sorry!! Please enjoy this!

When Banri asked you to meet him behind the school, you were surprised to say the least.

The two of you had talked a few times, sure, maybe done a few group projects together, but it was rare that you were together alone, and outside of class, no less.

That, and your feelings for him were a bit hard to hide when it was just the two of you.

But still, why this? Yet, despite your doubts, you complied with his request, and after classes got out, you met him behind the B building like he asked in the text he sent you.

The sight that greeted you when you got there was even stranger than the text.

You were met with Banri leaning his back against the wall, the wind flowing through his hair, giving the impression that he had walked out of a shojo manga. Hell, add some rose petals and you’d be all set.

Although, one thing about his stance stood out. He held something in his hands, and he seemed to be playing with it endlessly. Not too odd, but given that he was kind of a stuck-up douche, it was a little questionable to see him nervously fidget with something.

You didn’t get too much of a good look at him before he noticed you, though.

“Oh, hey, you made it.” He greeted, quickly stuffing the object into his back pocket.

“Yep. What’s up? It’s a little weird that you’d want just me, so whatcha need?” you asked as casually as you could.

Banri took in a deep breath through his nose.

“Well, you know that coffee shop that opened on Veludo recently?”

“Yeah, I’ve been meaning to go there, why?”

“We’ll, the Autumn Troupe’s rehearsals are slowing down a bit, so I was wondering if you’d wanna go with me? Y’know, on a date?” he asked, his voice was ever so slightly shaky.

“Oh.”

It took a moment for you to fully process his words.

“Wait, like on a romantic date?”

“Yeah, like that.”

Banri’s appearance was cool, his expression never faltering, and his calmness never fading. If only you knew how nervous he was, and that was on top of trying to to burst out with affection and teasing due to your cuteness and charm.

It took a moment for you to reply.

“Um, sure. That sounds fun.” You replied, your volume slightly lower than normal.

You had the same false demeanor Banri did. Sure, you seemed fine, a little nervous, but overall fine, yet your heart was the opposite. You could practically hear it thundering in your ears, and your brain was caught in a doozy over the thought that the guy you’ve liked for months now actually likes you back.

“Oh, and,” Banri interrupted your thoughts, “I grabbed this for ya. You know, ‘cause it’s cute. Like you.”

From behind his back, he pulled out the object he was hiding.

A single cosmo flower.

You took it, quietly thanking him.

“Yeah, you’re welcome. I had some of the gardening club gals help me out. Apparently it’s supposed to symbolize things falling into place and fate ‘n’ all that. Thought it suited us.”

Finally, for the first time since the conversation started, Banri smiled.

And while you admired the flower, he took the chance to give you a quick kiss on the forehead.

You looked up at him, unaware of what had happened.

Then it hit you.

Ohhhh my god what do I do?!? You tried to remain calm, but the way your face reddened quicker than you would have liked gave everything away to Banri.

“Heh. Cute.”

wHAT.

Somehow, everything he did after that damn kiss flustered you, and you couldn’t do anything about it.

So, without even thinking, you plopped your face into Banri’s chest, turning the tables as he felt his own face heat up.

Thankfully, however, he gingerly placed his arms across your back, slowly pulling you closer.

“I love you.” you whispered into his chest.

“Love you too, dollface.” he whispered right back.

everyone knows when kazunari, tsumugi, or guy are eating sanwiches bc kazu started texting the inter-troupe groupchat whenever he was eating a sandwich by texting the word ‘sandwich’ spelled Very Incorrectly. [examples include: smandwninch, sandywenchie, sammywicth, thandwinch]. 

tsumugi reaaaaaaaly wanted to know what the hell kazu meant by ‘PANDWINCH MOMENT BESTIESSSSSSS’ and once kazu called him to properly explain it, tsumugi got totally looped in. tsumu never spells it incorrectly tho, he just sends ‘sandwich :)’. tsumu looped guy into it once he joined too!!! [he was soooooo exthusiastic ab it it was very cute <333 the first time tsumu could teach someone ab a technology joke!! wow!!!] 

guys sends his messages only in the winter troupe chat, stylised as “Sandwich time.”
