sakuya's outburst during romejuli..........first time i played through that scene i was like. soo shocked/proud, and i could not stop thinking ab it for weeks upon weeks afterwards. LIKE? think ab sakuya's life up to that point. [and so, you understand his attachment to his role, and, subsequently, the newfound control he has over his first play]. ok yea? now think about what happens after sakuya shouts at [arguably], people he's already willing to see as new family, and at the very very least, new friends he's probably pretty attached to. they say 'ah hey no ur right saku, this IS ur role. it was written for you. dw, we'll figure this out w you.' [and now, you understand his attachment to his troupe. (and in a broader sense, mankai as a whole)]

AND, AS A CONTINUATION, THE SWORDFIGHT PRACTICING??? i actually like how the anime was clear ab saku pushing himself so hard that he had calloused his hands within like what, a week or something?? and masumi being so emotionally constipated he's just like. ughe. um. pink hair idiot. show up early so i can hit you with this stick. im gonna count it in a clear and easy to remember way while giving you concise directions on how to move. its bc i think ur too dumb to get it on ur own. ofc.

Lemon Tea: What are mornings with them like?

🐶 You and I both know that Taichi begged to cuddle with you last night. He finds it hard to sleep without somebody else in the room, and getting physical contact with you is a huge bonus.

🐶 The two of you probably stayed up pretty late, too, maybe you were doing something like watching a movie or playing video games, maybe you were just talking, but it was definitely a blast, and tired you out.

🐶 He’s the type of person that likes to sleep in late in the morning, especially after the night you two had.

🐶 If you’d let him, he would sleep until the afternoon. It’s a shame you wouldn’t.

🐶 You’re roused from sleep by the sun streaming directly into your eyes, piercing your vision until you couldn’t stray from consciousness much longer. Rubbing your eyes, you started to sit up, only to look down and find Taichi’s sleeping figure.

🐶 He was a mess of limbs, his arms and legs spread out like a starfish bent out of shape, while his mouth was wide open, emitting deep snores. His hair was a mess, jutting out in all sorts of different directions, ruffled up from the pressure of the pillow. Yet even with how silly he looked, you couldn’t help but grin, knowing that he was your silly boy.

🐶 You laid back down on the bed, rolling over to admire him for a moment longer. It may not have been the most conventionally attractive, but his sleeping figure was beautiful. You reached out, permitting yourself just a bit of that beauty as you stroked his cheek.

🐶 Taichi blinked, trying to process the touch. His eyes darted around the room a bit, only for them to find yours. His face flared, nearly matching the shade of his hair.

🐶 Even still, he hid his surprise with a soft smile, turning to face you.

🐶 “Morning, babes,” he greeted, planting a kiss to your cheek.

🐶 “Good morning,” you returned, starting to match his grin with one of your own.

🐶 “How long have you been up?” He asked, drawing you in drowsily.

🐶 “Not long,” you replied, snuggling into his hold.

🐶 “You wanna get breakfast?”

🐶 “Not just yet.”

🐶 “Yeah, me either,” he agreed, a giggle dancing on his breath.

🐶 Overall, mornings with him are slow and snuggly, in a word, hehe :3

Milk Tea: What are their kisses like?

🐶 They’re light and constant!

🐶 You will get a lot even over just the course of a day, he will not stop until you tell him to.

🐶 He just loves you so much! He can’t help it!

🐶 If it’s been a long time, he will draw you in and smother you in a million little pecks all over your face until you squeal at him to quit.

🐶 “Aw, why? You know you like it! And it’s been forever, I need to catch up on all I missed!”

🐶 In private, in those soft, quiet moments, they’re slow and lingering, it’s almost like he’s transformed into a different person.

🍂 He’s quite subtle!

🍂 Okay, not subtle subtle, but he won’t outwardly flirt with you as much as if he didn’t have feelings for you.

🍂 For example, he’d always be doing small things for you, like carrying your bags or buying you something if you didn’t have the funds. Just a bunch of small deeds that start to stack, almost to the point where you want to start refusing because of just how much he is willing to do.

🍂 Bro will treat you like the royalty you are frfr<3

🍂 The thing is, his easy mode usually applies to romance. He knows what works to get a partner and what doesn’t. He is able to analyze how to get anyone he wants and knows what to do to get their heart, but you? Just when he thinks he’s connected all the dots, you shatter his entire perception of you, sending him back to square one.

🍂 These little deeds are the only reliable thing he can count on, because, even if he can’t get a good read, he knows that this will at least make you smile a bit for him.

🍂 That said, I think Banri’s the type to do a whole song and dance to get you to confess first anyway, but, in this case, he’s genuinely not sure if your feelings are mutual.

sakyo-first snow, falling gently= first off, what a pretty name for the card.....also sakyo n izumi moments.....sakyo comes to drive her home [i could swear he's done this in-canon at least like. 4 times], izumi buys him a scarf as a cute little thank-you, sakyo immediately leaves the car under the rule of 'if i dont get my woman something right now i will die', and returns with a single rose............mr furuichi.....sighhh...<3

azuma-elegant ankh=ok listen. ankh is egyptian. on first glance of the card art i thought azuma was wearing hindi bridal jewlery...i think he's not?? or maybe its j bridal jewlery inspired...a3 i regard you with a slightly confused side eye sometimes..but the card story here is sweet to me i will say! azu, izumi, and some of the others go out to an indian cultural festival, [juza is excited ab lassi....so cute...sweet boy...love him bunches...!!!], azuma and izumi get henna done together!! these two!!! precious to me!!

i do remember liking the ones where all the chibis would be like lined up outside on the street and just shout aggressively at other troupes....the visual was hilarious...like what r u guys doing..??? banri stop kicking people please....ur setting a bad example for all the kids that r prob watching u rn given how LOUD ur being...

Ten days! We’re on a roll! Here’s a kinda mundane question: Do you have a favorite event type? For me, there’s something so nice about being able to throw PR events in the background, haha, plus the board game for this year’s anniversary was fun, too!!

Sakuya bolted out of bed, his eyelids snapping open.

His heart racing, he looked around in the darkness, trying to search for any form of familiarity before realizing he was home.

Sighing, he patted his body with his clammy hands to check for any damage before lying down to try going back to sleep.

That was, until a familiar, though sleepy, voice called out to him.

“Sakuya?” Citron whispered, beginning to sit up.

“I’m fine.” Sakuya replied, trying to keep his voice hushed and a smile on his face. The comment was mostly reassurance for himself, anyway.

Yet somehow, Citron saw through it.

“Are you sure about that?” This time, Citron’s voice came out laced with gentle sympathy, the tone feeling familiar on his lips.

Sakuya didn’t have time to even think of a reply before his body came up with one for him. His eyes welled with tears, and he wordlessly crawled over the partition into Citron’s bed.

“Sakuya’s a liar.”

Citron gave him a kind smile, opening the covers for him to come in.

Again, as if he were possessed by a being starved for comfort, Sakuya complied, allowing Citron to drape them both in the soft warmth of the blankets.

“Would you like to talk of it?”

“Mm-mm.” Sakuya shook his head, attempting to hide the wetness beginning to pool on his cheeks.

“Okay.”

With that, Citron reached up to comb his fingers through Sakuya’s hair, each stroke more tender than the last. Each movement felt familiar to him, as it was the same way he used to comfort Tangerine when he came to him like this.

Sakuya closed his eyes, trying to concentrate on his roommate’s hands running along the back of his head in an attempt to fall asleep.

Sadly, it only made things worse.

The softness and familial nature of the touch just added an extra loop to the emotional roller coaster he had taken a trip on. The tears only continued to spill over as Citron made soft shushing noises in an attempt to calm him.

This continued until the soft near-silence was broken by Citron’s whispers.

“Have I told the tale of the lion and the leopard?”

Sakuya shook his head, looking up at a blurry Citron.

“Ah, it is one of the tales I was raised with, so I will tell you. Once in a time…”

The entire time Citron told his fairytale, he held Sakuya close, continuing to stroke his hair; pushing his bangs out of his face, carding through the hair in back of his head, and generally running his fingers all over his head. He dried some tears, managed to get a wet-sounding giggle out of Sakuya, and soon enough, lulled him to sleep.

Once he was sure his child was asleep, Citron’s grin grew just a little wider as his eyes softened.

“Good night, Saku,” he whispered, “sweetest of dreams.”

hrmmm iirc, i though saku was cute n a sweetiepie, tsuzu was p real, itaru i was actually pretty 'eh' about! i thought masumi's crush on izumi was a kinda cute angle to go at, but i very much liked that izumi was kinda like 'ok kid ur nice but no. im an adult. go play nice w ur friends now.' i was soooo charmed by citron's 'serious-ish' moments that i was supes excited to see where his character would go from there!!

as for summer troupe, i was ANNOYEDDDD w tenma lololololol he was just such a little asss...muku was SO real, yuki was so fun w the little barbs, and kazu and misumi were so sweeettttttt

autumn... ill tell u what i actually really like everyone's voices in autumn troupe so that was funny as first impressions. juza was so <3! OMI.. I WAS ENAMOURED. banri n taichi both gave the impression that they had sooo much going on under those first glances. and ofc fav dad sakyo <333

winter....fuyu....i feel like homare and azuma stood out v nicely, they seemed to have a lot going on lol. tsumu seemed v meek in an endearing way, like i could understand why he was so hesitant a lot in early winter, hiso didnt super capture me, and unforch tasuku was kinda. kinda nothing to me at first LOL

ill put rookies all in a row here too, chikage pissed me OFF skjncdksnjf, kumon was such an earnest kid he so had my heart right away, azami was awwwww!, and guy...[ok everyone im gonna tell u a secret rn ok?. um. i never actually got to guy's chapter....i still have to read it i know.....] but for him it was also <3 heart emoji at first sight!! what a pretty man....what a nice voice!!!! and lore w citron?? i was intrigued!!!

AND OFC IZUMI1!!!!!! i was so overjoyed at first to find that she had her own personality, she was so funny sakjcnkjnsdcd what an icon <3!!!!!!

omg this is such a good one tooo...!! i remember really liking ichiro's design [plus its super funny how he technically adds to mankai's already high amount of criminals and yakuza...] ooo and keita yano!!! he has such a soft look and it was always so cutiepie when he said he felt like he got younger brothers after joining mankai <333 like!! awww??? i love how that implies that the ensemble members r literally around often enough for keita to go 'oh wow there are like. middle/high schoolers here. huh. guess im a big brother now. u kids need help w ur geometry or anything?'

uk what, ive told myself that i want to answer every question of mankai march, so here we go!!

in terms of ocs, i actually have thought a little bit every now and again about izumi getting an assistant!! [this is kinda (totally) self insert-y BUT!! THATS OK!! WE'RE ALL JUST HAVING FUN AND BEING SILLY THATS WHAT THIS IS AB!!!] but it was originally mostly a way for me to think about what the actual stage directions and lighting/music cues and set changes would be like!! also partially bc at a certain point i realised izumi is straight up doing SO MUCH on her own for the first time so i really just wanted to reach into their world and go 'hi. hey queen. miss izumi. please give me ur clipboard and go take a nap. i will herd these cats from here <3'
