The Dragon Prince AMV - “Wasted Time” (Skid Row)
Hi all! So, I have been actively working on this video for about three weeks now, and wanted to release it before we got Book Three of The Dragon Prince. Skid Row is one of my favorite bands, and for the longest time I have been unable to hear “Wasted Time” without thinking of characters and scenarios from The Dragon Prince. Hope you enjoy, and I can’t wait for Book Three!
Soultember Prompt 1: Red String of Fate
Fandom : The Dragon Prince
Waring: Canon Character Death
Summary: Harrow didn't need Viren to tell him his wife had been killed by Thunder, he already knew she was gone.
Queen Sairi was the love of King Harrow's life. They were bound together by fate. When they walked, hand in hand, a red string hung down slightly from their pinky fingers. No matter how difficult life was they knew they had each other.
When Viren told Harrow that there was a way to save the people of Duren and Katolis from the death that would come with the horrible winter, he felt it was the only solution. Maybe it was.
Despite Sarai's protest, a few soldiers and the leaders of the two kingdoms left to retrieve the heart of the titan.
Harrow was unsure when the fight began if they would emerge victorious. When the titan fell everything was worth it. The uninjured assessed the injured and they were ready to go.
It was a selfless mission. But sacrifices must be made to save a kingdom. A few people for tens of thousands seemed only far.
Then he appeared. The king of the dragons was angry. Why were humans on his side of the border? What did they need and what did they destroy?
When the queens of Duren fell, it felt like the whole world shook for just a moment. Then Viren tried to by them time. The head mage was a strong man but without him the sacrifice of the queens was for nothing.
Sarai was a strong women. There was no doubt in Harrow's mind that she would return to him. The string that held them together would shorten as they took hands once more. They would return home and would dance in their room, watching the string as they tried to tangle it around themselves, just to see if they could.
Harrow wanted her ride away. He looked at the tine red line that never let them play a fair game or hide and seek and smiled.
As the soldiers approached their side of the border the king felt his finger start to burn.
Snap.
Harrow felt a sharp pain in his pinky finger. The long red string that once connected him to his Queen had broken.
This couldn't be right. Any moment now Sarai would come back up the hill, back to him. She had to. Harrow wasn't sure he could do this without her. He wasn't sure how he'd live on or how he'd explain to his sons what happened to their mother.
The string tied itself into a neat bow, the excess hanging maybe an inch off of his finger. Harrow's heart felt like it stopped beating. Sarai was gone, his love was gone.
Viren walked up the hill, confirming the news. Three mothers had died that day. The mage looked at Harrow's hand, a red string now visible, "I'm so sorry."
Harrow said nothing. Tears fell silently down his face. They fell to the ground as others went to retrieve the three bodies from the field.
He fidgeted with the short tail of the string unconsciously as the three women were brought up the hill. The walk home felt shorter and longer than it had felt before. Harrow wouldn't remember most of it.
It was fate for the two to fall in love. Who knew fate could be so cruel.

For three seasons I was constantly worried that his hair was severely limiting his visual field. When bangs reach past the eyebrows the eyesight is compromised, it is known!! It irks me beyond articulation. So while I am not a fan of the new hairstyle style-wise, I am oh so relieved Callum can at least see unhindered by floppy brown tresses.
PS. I bet if Sarai were alive she would never have taken it, and would always be telling Callum to either cut or grow his hair enough for it to be tied, and she would always be softly touching his forehead and pushing his hair back behind his ears.
no one's allowed to make fun of callum's hair it was a bad breakup
I'd never thought of it like that, actually
Do you ever think about the fact that Sarai died saving a man who went on to try to murder both of her children?
OMGGGG
Someone pointed out that Callum’s three parents are a soldier, poet, king trio and I had to draw it
A Wolf and A Tiger
Amaya felt like someone was following her as she walked into the woods but didn't pay attention to it since the moon was rising and she had to find Janai before then. She could feel her wolf pur at the thought of seeing the tiger again, as she entered a clearing the scent of cinnamon and cherry smoke filled the air and in the center was Janai. "I was worried you wouldn't come." Janai signed as she met her in a soft embrace, which Amaya relished in for a few moments before having to break it to sign. "I had to make sure I wasn't followed sunshine. You know what will happen if my sister finds out about us." Janai's reply made her heart spark alight."I know my moon, but let's forget about the world for now and just be."
Amaya's wolf and Janai's tiger stirred as the moon rose higher before they shifted. Amaya's wolf appeared almost painlessly, followed by Janai's tiger form. The two played in the moonlit clearing, free from what society wanted them to be. It was peaceful until Janai heard a twig snap.
The scent of sweet berries and citrus filled their noses. The tiger could see Amaya's ears flattening against her head with a whimper as Janai looked at the treeline and saw someone in between them. Janai stood in front of Amaya with a protective growl, hoping to scare whoever was there away. But that only made them come closer.
The moon bathed the figure in silver light, revealing a woman with pale skin similar to Amaya's, but her hair was longer, and her eyes held a dagger's edge in them. Janai felt herself wanting to back away from the woman's presence and let her see Amaya because she didn't want to pose a threat to her. "What do you want?" Janai asks calmly, which the human returns with a snarl."I could ask the same from you, now back away from my sister before I make you." The woman shifted into a huminoid black wolf with her teeth now bared, but Janai didn't move. The tiger spoke calmly. "No."
The wolf growled and charged toward the tiger, and before she could even think her arm lashed out too hit her but didn't notice her sister running in front of the tiger, her eyes blinded in anger. Her claws hit Amaya across the cheek, sending her to the ground with a hard thud, causing a whimper to escape from her lips before she pushed herself up with a pained growl. She saw her sister's guilt filled face as she kneeled, but Amaya felt her wolf snarl at her before looking at Janai, who helped her up.
The air was filled with the smell of Amaya's blood now, and it was dripping off the other woman's claws. Janai had tried to be civil with her, keeping calm when the woman started to get aggressive, not showing any hostility, and it resulted in the one she loved to get hurt. Janai let out a soft sigh before letting her full tiger free as she spoke, "I didn't want to fight you. But you hurt the one I love, I told her not to worry about you since I would protect her!!"
"Protect her from what? A loving sister who wants only the best for her, the only family she ever knew?" The woman replied with a snarl. The dagger's edge in her eyes became as sharp as a sword as she saw the tiger shake her head "No I would never protect her from that, I will however, protect her from anyone who wishes to harm her because of who she loves. Now leave before I do something we both will regret."
The black wolf nodded and ran into the woods. A roar followed her through the woods, ringing in her ears.
Barely holding back the urge to run after her, Janai held Amaya close and nuzzled into her neck. Inhaling the scent of fresh rain-soaked earth and leather. She finally allowed herself to calm down. That was when she cupped Amaya's left cheek to look at the injury. A hiss of pain came from the silver wolf, "I know it hurts. And it looks like it will scar." She could see Amaya's ears were still flattened against her head. She was afraid, Janai ran her hand gently through her love's hair as they now sat in the clearing, holding each other tight.
