(in case you couldn't tell by my pfp, Honest John is my favorite Disney character, so excited to see this request!)
~I feel like he tries to come off as a very gentlemanly kind of romantic but it's not exactly the most convincing
~On his way to pick you up for a date he'll pick any flowers he sees on his way and gathers a very mismatched bouquet for you
~He acts like a really good and confident flirt but the second you reciprocate, he's a flustered mess
~Really tries to make dates special for the two of you, but doesn't have much money to spend which leads to him having to get very creative
~You know that dinner scene in Lady and the Tramp? That's how your dates usually go, he finds someone who owes him a favor and manages to get the two of you a free meal
~These usually have musical accompiment from Gideon who is actually surprisingly good at playing instruments
~Loves going for walks with you and is always the perfect gentleman for you, although occansionally you'll have Gideon following you around as a nearly permanent third wheel
~Overall, while he doesn't have much to provide for you, he'll do all he can to make sure you know how much he loves and cares for you

He likely saw you and almost immediately went ‘Wow! A new sweetheart to exploit!’
But upon actually talking to you, no doubt hamming up the courteousness and charisma, he’d start to realise that perhaps you’re a little... too sweet.
The more he speaks, the more he listens to you, the more he begins to realise he couldn’t bring himself to hurt a fly on your head
“The world is gonna eat this poor thing alive... but it’s not gonna be by my hands.”
He’s swindled the poor, the rich, the elderly, and literal children, why was he so hesitant to scam you!?
The realisation would hit him like a train, and all at once, he won’t leave you alone!
