Canyon Lodge is situated just 20 kilometres from the main view point of the Fish River Canyon and next to the main road. The lodge consists of 26 bungalows built out of natural rock, thatch roofs and full en-suite facilities. The restored farm house, built in 1908 by German settlers, serves as the lodge restaurant. The nearby Quiver trees and impressive rock formations cater for the hiking enthusiasts. The Lodge is sited in mountainous surroundings to take best advantage of the beautiful view offered by the Gondwana Canyon Park.

Die Canyon Lodge liegt nur 20 Kilometer vom Hauptaussichtspunkt des Fish River Canyon entfernt, jedoch abseits der Hauptstraße. Die Lodge besteht aus 26 Bungalows aus Naturstein, mit Strohdächern und komplettem Bad. Das restaurierte Bauernhaus, das 1908 von deutschen Siedlern erbaut wurde, dient als Lodge-Restaurant. Die nahe gelegenen Köcherbäume und beeindruckenden Felsformationen begeistern Wanderfreunde. Die Lodge befindet sich in bergiger Umgebung, um die schöne Aussicht des Gondwana Canyon Park optimal zu nutzen.

Steve Braine has been involved with ornithology and natural history within Namibia from a very young age, contributing invaluable data to Namibian Ornithology and natural history. He guided many specialized eco- and ornithological tours throughout Namibia.

During the past ten years Steve and his wife have travelled extensively doing birding and photography. Steve has passed his on-going enthusiasm and love for natural history to his two sons who now assist with birding, wildlife and photographic tours.

Cape Town, the 350 year old mother city of South Africa, has one of the most beautiful surroundings in the world. The symbiosis of big city flair and the enchanting location by the ocean as well as the diversity of nations, the coexistence of the first and third worlds and the beautiful and varied hinterland leave nothing to be desired. Cape Town is especially famous for the Table Mountain - the symbol of the city. The striking, plateau-shaped surface of the table mountain, together with Signal Hill, Lions Head and Devils Peak, dominates the entire cityscape and built the skyline so unique worldwide.

Neethlingshof Estate lies just outside the beautiful town of Stellenbosch in the heart of the Cape Winelands. The history of Neethlingshof Estate spans more than 300 years. In 1692 Willem Barend Lubbe, a German settler, began farming the site he had been granted by Simon van der Stel on the Bottelary Hills overlooking False Bay. He named the farm De Wolwedans, which means “The Dance of Wolves”, because he mistook the packs of jackals which roamed the countryside in those early days of European settlement for wolves.

After Lubbe sold the De Wolwedans in 1717 the farm changed hands multiple times. Since 2017 Neethlingshof is now owned by the Schreiber family. --------------------------------

Das Neethlingshof Estate liegt etwas außerhalb der schönen Stadt Stellenbosch im Herzen der Cape Winelands. Die Geschichte des Guts Neethlingshof umfasst mehr als 300 Jahre. 1692 begann Willem Barend Lubbe, ein deutscher Siedler, mit der Bewirtschaftung des von Simon van der Stel bewilligten Geländes auf den Bottelary Hills mit Blick auf die False Bay. Er nannte die Farm De Wolwedans, was „Der Tanz der Wölfe“ bedeutet, weil er die Rudel Schakale, die in jenen frühen Tagen der europäischen Besiedlung die Landschaft durchstreiften, für Wölfe hielt.

Nachdem Lubbe 1717 die "De Wolwedans" verkauft hatte, wechselte die Farm mehrmals den Besitzer. Seit 2017 gehört der Neethlingshof der Familie Schreiber.

Noordoewer is a town in southern Namibia. The name means "North Bank" in Afrikaans, in reference to the north bank of the Orange River - border between Namibia and South Africa, on which Noordoewer is located. Noordoewer is set opposite of the South African town of Vioolsdrif and two towns are connected by the road bridge as it forms the northern end of the South African national highway N7 and the southern end of the Namibian main trunk road B1. Noordoewer is known for grape production (there are established wineries there) and canoeing. The town is a popular stop for travellers between Windhoek and Cape Town. Noordoewer is an important border post on the banks of the Orange River, known for being one of the hottest places in Namibia. However, there is an abundance of water that is used to irrigate fruit plantations as well as grape farms.

Noordoewer liegt gegenüber der südafrikanischen Stadt Vioolsdrif und die Städte sind durch die Straßenbrücke verbunden, die das nördliche Ende der südafrikanischen Nationalstraße N7 und das südliche Ende der namibischen Hauptstraße B1 verknüpft. Noordoewer ist bekannt für seine Traubenproduktion (dort gibt es etablierte Weingüter) und Kanufahren. Die Stadt ist eine beliebte Station für Reisende zwischen Windhoek und Kapstadt. Noordoewer ist ein wichtiger Grenzposten am Ufer des Orange River, der als einer der heißesten Orte Namibias bekannt ist. Es gibt jedoch eine Fülle von Wasser, das zur Bewässerung von Obstplantagen sowie von Traubenfarmen verwendet wird.

The Bahnhof Hotel was initially built in 1906. After extensive renovations in 2005 this Jewel of the Sperrgebiet has imperturbably grown in size and rating alike. The overall atmosphere and the personal touch within the realm of this establishment are setting it off from many other players in its field.  The small town of Aus has an astonishing rich history dating back to German colonial times. This charming village was once the hub of many Ox-wagon transporters and traders. Remains of the POW (prisoners of war) camp can still be seen today followed by many stories of hardship, bravery, diamond rushes and the coming of the railway.  The hotel serves a large variety of outstanding cuisine, cakes and beverages throughout the day. Überreste des Kriegsgefangenenlagers sind noch heute zu sehen, gefolgt von vielen Geschichten über Not, Tapferkeit, Diamantenrausch und das Kommen der Eisenbahn.
