-Harley Quinn and the Joker suffer a nasty break-up. (What’s new?) On a whim, Poison Ivy sets her up on a blind date with the Scarecrow. Turns out, their shared interest in psychology isn’t the only thing they have in common. When the Joker decides he wants Harley back, he finds out he has some serious competition.

OTP Writing Prompt #15

Your OTP finds a fairy ring. One of them steps in the middle and immediately disappears.

This was one of my favorite books as a kid. I remember being able to relate because I didn’t have friends either. I’d read it and feel sorry for him, and say “I’ll be your friend, Godzilla.” He was one of my favorite imaginary friends for years.

I would say I’ve grown out of having imaginary friends, but I create OCs and write fanfiction, so I guess I haven’t really. But that’s okay. It’s a lonely world out there, and I love how stories can bring us together. Even if it’s nothing deep, knowing you made someone laugh or smile somehow makes your own world seem a little fuller. And I hope the creators of Godzilla realize how lucky they are to have done that for so many people, and to have inspired so many young people to pursue writing and art thanks to this character. I know Godzilla was, and still is, a creative inspiration for me.

You’ll always be my friend, Godzilla, even though I finally have them in real life.
