I 100% guarantee you that sakuya wishes everyone a “good morning!!” or “good night!!”. Everyone just feels ~good and warm~ bc he says it with so much love!! It's such a constant of everyone’s day that if sakuya is ever sick or staying in his room for whatever reason, every member of Mankai comes into his room to say good morning, afternoon, and night because he's OUR KID. 

And if i may get a bit of angst in here~ Sakuya probably partakes in this little routine due to his formerly nonexistent home-life. Just, the fact that he has people living with him, people who like him, and a FAMILY to come home to must mean soooo much to him since he’s never had that before Mankai. Loneliness is a terrifying thing in how subtly it can affect you. What feels worse for me is that sakuya was living with people before Mankai. They just didn’t really care about him. He was just another kid in their house.

When he came to Mankai and he was VALUED, and respected and people listened to him and cared about his interests, it was like a switch flipped. He learned that having a found family was so beautiful, so amazing, that he needs to make sure that all of his family feels loved and seen and needed too. I think that cheerful personality he had in the beginning may have been-to an extent- an act. He tried to be good and likeable for his families, but that never turned out well for him, so it became just his desperate, automatic disposition. But I do believe that once he found he was accepted at Mankai, the cheerfulness we see in him is real. Sakuya’s sweet “good morning!!”s are more than just pleasantries. He needs to do it, as often as possible.

Itaru: ok, if he hasn’t lost his script in two days, it's a miracle. He might accidentally pick up someone else’s script and only notice when he realizes he’s never taken that many notes. minimal notes, like cues and entrances. Later on he does get much better at taking notes! 

Citron: lots of color!! he would assign everyone a highlighter color and mark everyone’s lines. He might get a little carried away with the gel pens and doodle in the margins while memorizing lines, but the script looks very bright and fun!!

annotation hcs (autumn pt 1 )

here’s the autumn lads! be warned, there are spoilers here!! fun fact: i usually cannot spell autumn correctly :)

Banri: taking notes??? Who’s she? Bringing your script to practice?? I don't know her?? To be honest, his script was barren and abandoned a lot in the beginning, like people would find it just lying around and go ‘banri? Don't you need this?’ and he honestly didn’t mind all that much. Later on! He actually gets more invested and starts making little annotations. He probably isn’t very used to annotating text so he would kinda just circle and fold the corners of pages that he needs to remember/deliver well. Later later on he does get better at taking notes tho!! Still minimal, but at least they exist and he knows where his script is

Juza: ok, when he first gets his script I feel like he was probably a little lost. He really didn’t know where to start so it would kinda just lie on his desk, blank. (don’t tell banri but juza was a little intimidated when he got the script and couldn’t bring himself to mark it up for a while) he eventually built up the courage to ask izumi how he should make notes and he’s pretty much stuck to that since! Most of his notes are on delivery, and what emotions should come through in certain words. Probably notes on pacing lines and how to deliver them more naturally too!

Sakyo: spoilers here! Since he’s another one who’s been involved in theatre since he was little, he can read through a script and just go, ‘ah yea, i got it’. Looking at the script it looks almost formal? Like, it almost looks like he used a ruler for underlining and the annotating looks like notes you could use in a textbook. If izumi ever forgets her script (which has happened at leaaaast once i promise u), he will let her use his, albeit with grumbling and lecturing <3 its ok sakyo, we know you love her

Taichi: Oh boyy, that poor script is gonna be destroyed.,,., im sorry, but our lil sk8er boi is just gonna be bringing that script with him eeveerryyywwheeereeee. He takes a buncha notes, but they are absolutely illegible and incomprehensible to anyone that isn't taichi nanao. Lots of scribbles and underlining and just a tooon of writing on almost all of the pages. Practically held together by binder clips by the end of the run of the play. Like, just imagine in the common room...

annotation hcs (summer troupe pt 2)

here’s the rest of the summer troupe!! reminder that requests are open~~ Misumi: cute triangles allll over the cover!! What else did you expect lol. I feel like he would painstakingly draw a triangle border around the pages. Or he could use washi tape with a cute triangle design!! In terms of annotating his lines, I think there would honestly be minimal notes on the actual lines, there seems to be more decoration for fun. (spoiler warning here!!!!!) Masu has been learning ab theatre since he was little so i feel like a lot of delivery and projection would come quickly for him. Loses his script on occasion, but he’s off book pretty quick, so it usually isn't a problem

Kazunari: i think kazu’s notes are definitely methodological. I think since he’s already in uni he already has a set system for taking notes that he’s been using for a couple of years and that he’s comfortable with. I feel like he probably has vv aesthetically pleasing notes! He might also have a couple of sketches in the margins when he gets inspired during rehearsal and while studying lines. probably doesn’t lose his script too often!

so, i was thinking about Juza, as you do aaaand---

I feel like juza might get intimidated by new things easily. I kinda referenced this in my post about script annotation (shameless self plug, i’m aware >:3), but i feel like this could extend to a lot of stuff. Omi has him helping in the kitchen? He is mega worried about messing up the food for everyone and he needs to be reassured that he is in-fact stirring the pot correctly. Muku lends him a copy of a manga he liked? It's sitting on Juza's desk for the first half of the week because he can't just open it?? That's muku’s book and he's worried he might rip a page or spill something on it?? And even if he gets it open, what if he doesn't understand it well enough to talk with muku about it afterwards? I feel like juza can definitely catch onto things once he’s shown the first few times, but starting things is just scary and nerve-racking for him. I think this might stem from how he was treated as a child and how everyone was scared of him and viewed him as a source of threatening, brute strength instead of juza hyodo, the kid in our history class. This could have lead to an automatic hesitance and extreme self-doubting when doing anything he doesn’t already understand, because the idea of breaking something or ruining something and, in turn, being feared and shunned was such a pervasive part of his childhood, it will definitely take a while for him to work through it.

and lemme just say waaaa juzaaa please know u are loveddd (and all you too!! i assure you all, you are stirring the pot correctly and i can’t wait to taste your soup!!)
