really freaking hilarious and ironic that Junghyeok called Dokja's modifier "weak" is that Junghyeok was the one that technically got Dokja's modifier to be "Demon King Of Salvation" (im pretty sure, can someone double check?)
By the way, since Han Sooyoung wrote TWSA and Lee Hakhyun wrote Han Sooyoung’s ORV, isn’t it Yoo Jonghyuk’s turn to write Han Sooyoung’s side stories now?

Maturing is realizing that Jongdok transcends the bonds of even romantic love
the “how is orv not a bl” line is actually really interesting to me because the way joongdok is written in orv kinda reminds me of old mangas (specifically shounen) from the 80s-90s where because of ~the times~ the story is centered on these action-filled, dramatic narrative arcs but had loads and loads of hints between the lines. the leads (or side characters) have stifling Homoerotic Tension and, often, really fucking explosive soap opera storylines
You know, the we’re gonna divorce fight and make it everyone else’s problem arcs (This is often an arc involving conflicting morals and/or a blackening of 1/2 of the pair)?
The we’re not explicitly a canon pair but we’re also not not together
The are we gonna fuck fight or battle to the death dynamic
The yeah we could be together but at this point to boil down what we have to a simple relationship is just not enough of a summary of our shared history
The ambiguous description of being one soul, one pair, partners, companions, one and only, etc. but never actually saying they’re romantically together
A lot of titles before had that undefined devotion between characters, where everyone in-world just accepts that yeah those two would damn the world and us for each other type of crazy
I guess that’s why i really love joongdok too. They bring that nostalgic, show-don’t-tell approach to love and absolute batshit insane devotion without having to be tagged as BL
(I have to say however, in the interest of avoiding misunderstandings, that I am not against BL works. I simply find this type of storytelling interesting and, again, nostalgic.)

kills me how han sooyoung is always the one both kim dokja and yoo joonghyuk look to when they want someone to kill them
kim dokja gets her to do that in the strongest sacrifice scenario, and of course when he becomes the 73rd demon king she has to be the one that starts it and yoo joonghyuk in the 1863rd turn, as well as in the museum during the epilogue always forcing the knife to her hand
but she ends the story by writing orv to save kim dokja... and inadvertently saves yoo joonghyuk as well
my favorite part about yoohan is the fact that hsy is just as much of a slave to the story as yjh is
girls when they bring out the dark and gloomy protagonist who is actually the most optimistic character in the cast

I’m about to start ch 219 right now. I can’t wait for YJH to react to this BS.
Like imagine you are Yoo jonghyuk who mourned the death of his husband companion to the point you barely came out of your room for several days and when you did you pushed yourself into scenarios that were frankly beyond your limits. One day some lady from the sky who hangs around your friends for some reason comes to you and says “your husband is alive I’ve found him in the demon realm” and you think ‘demon realm? How’s he managed that’ before you recall the several instances of random notifications you’ve gotten that say that your gaining notoriety in the demon realm for something or other. So you trust this lady to guide you to the demon realm where you can’t communicate with anyone else except her and even then only if you hold onto a lil plushy of her because the demon realm is a trash pile of dead and broken stories that the constellations have long since lost interest in. Only to find that your stupid dead boyfriend not only started a revolution and is overthrowing the tyrannical duke but he’s doing it all pretending to be you.
im not gonna lie if i had the power of regression like yoo jonghyuk did i too would kill myself at the slightest sign of things not going my way. id kill myself over anything id die over a juice box tbh. i couldnt get the sword i wanted? jumping into a monsters mouth. i couldnt get my favourite pair of boots? swallowing a volatile motion activated bomb and then doing a cartwheel. i dont give a fuck. i would also use it to mentally torment anyone who annoyed me. you made a joke about my sick black coat? cool! now im fucking dead on the floor and im going to kill you in my next regression before you even open your mouth. how do you feel about THAT. i will defend yoo jonghyuk taking 1863+ rounds to reach the epilogue because it wouldve taken me wayyyyy longer.
